Roleplay Availability
Roleplay Type(s)
To those of you who have been living under a rock and have NOT noticed me excitedly talking about a prospective "witch rp", well, this is an interest check for a roleplay outlined in this previous thread.

EDIT: The roleplay is up!

[Royal Witches]

In the land of Arcana, magic is power, and power rules - and, seeing as how only women ever develop the ability to use magic, then it'll be no surprise that Arcana ruled by women. Most girls will grow up to become Witches, the manipulators of mana. Some will develop into Fonts instead, with the ability to produce and store mana, and even fewer may turn out to Voids, those with the rare yet game-changing ability to absorb mana and negate magic. Men, convicts, and the tiny tragic number of magicless women, are given the opportunity to serve Queen Amelanch as Wardens - non-magical soldiers.

Soldiers against what, though? Ever since the White Witches took over Arcana a hundred years ago and put the Lavan bloodline on the throne, dissent has been swiftly and firmly... neutralized.

That leaves the Blight as the Queen's primary concern - monsters, agents of rot and poison and plague, that kill crops and sicken livestock, that crawl out of the Great Abyss in the dead of night, scurrying about like oversized rats. To force the Blight out of Arcana would be one of the greatest victories ever achieved. To go into the Abyss and eradicate them at the source... Well, the poor witch would never come out alive, but she would be revered as a goddess throughout the rest of time.

Clearly, there is a lot more to the story, but I can't, nor do I need to, fit it all into an interest thread. From the magic system outlined in the WIP and the premise up above though, well, hopefully that's enough to pique your interest?

EDIT: To get a better idea of what kind of cast I'll be working with, I'd like anyone interested to go to this Google Form I made, and fill out this short little questionnaire. It's all multiple choice (except for username), so it shouldn't take but a minute.

WHERE YA'LL AT

Hello,

Certainly interested in playing one of the non-magical roles, namely the likes of the Warden. Like you twist on gender roles in the setting should be fun! Was thinking playing a convict serving his time as a warden, maybe a ex-highwayman.

I have never actually played any of the Dragon Age games!! I am trash, I know.

Red Witch.

Yes? No? Maybe?

That is a young witch. It'll be fun to break her in.

Right now, the Blight is not playable, but it's entirely possible your character studies the Blight or is infected by it.

Old enough to have her period, young enough to have not yet hit menopause.

... Take a guess at what magic is related to.

Fun facts

1: A witch's power spikes during her special time of month.

2: It drops to almost nothing during pregnancy and after menopause.

I was just wondering, after reading the page beforehand; would there be a chance of demonstrations in regards to civil rights for males? Considering how it's a society dominated by women, I reckon it would be interesting!

Absolutely! Granted, the gimmick of the RP is a matriarchal society, so I do want there to be mostly female characters, but I...

Wow, it hurts to say but uhm

MY TUMBLRINA FEEFEES ARE SO SALTY RIGHT NOW

(I feel the need to make the disclaimer that I do in fact respect my fellow feminists and my friends who are all tumblrites just like me)

Aye, I respect feminists too; and my soon-to-be masulinists!

(No sarcasm for what I said about the feminists.)
