Personality. Isaias has always been difficult. As a child it was less so, only having moments here and there of hard headedness and outright rebellion. He liked the thrill of doing the wrong thing and took the negative attention it attracted as a form of praise. He liked being the bad kid, because most of the others weren't, and being original was very important when you were the younger of two boys in a very well put together and respected family.

But as he continued to grow up, he had a tendency to stay in trouble. He is assertive and confrontational, traits that he has always possessed, and likes to feel in control. When he isn't feeling in control, he loses his cool really quickly and that nasty temper of his shows itself as clear as day. He will fight with anyone about anything, and hates for people to disagree with him. However, this is with the "outside world", with strangers and authoritative figures from other aspects of his life.

With those he is closest to, because even a tough kid like Isaias has grown up with friends and family and does possess some close relationship with some of them, he can be a little calmer. In fact, with the people closest to him, his resolve is so solid it is almost scary. Because he is so secretive about his past and the lifestyle he has been living up to this point, he has a tendency to just be quiet. To let others speak and say what they will, while he just listens. He is terrified of accidentally revealing any truth to anyone mostly because he is terrified to face it himself.

He is not healthy or positive person, and he knows it, and to the outside world he freely shows it. To the people he cares about, who he has hurt time and time again and is determined not to hurt ever again, he tries to be somewhat convincingly kind and even pretends to have "changed".

Isaias cares deeply for his family and friends, it's just that he cannot get himself together, and get a grip on his own mental health and personality issues.



Interests and hobbies. In the past Isaias enjoyed reading, gaming, hiking, camping, the outdoors, a variety of music, and sports. Lately he has had difficulty giving any amount of attention to even the things he genuinely enjoyes.
likes and dislikes. Isaias is fond of beaches and warm weather, the feeling of vacations and holidays, being involved in a community in some way. He dislikes feeling outcasted (even though he puts himself in that position often), feeling second-best, losing at anything, people who ask too many questions as a form of "small talk", and feeling crowded or stuck.

Extra. Isaias has battled addiction of multiple varieties the last several years of his life, and his family has forced him to keep it secret so as to keep up appearances. He doesn't like the fact he's very much outcasted himself from the friends he grew up being so close to, but he is terrified they will find out the hard truths about him, and that they would reject him anyway. So it has just been easier to distance himself.

basic history. Isaias didn't like living in his brother's shadow, and truthfully he was never actually living in his brother's shadow at all, he only felt that way because his brother was the smarter and more successful of the two at everything. Isaias suffered from a short attention span and general disinterest in the hobbies that their parents presented as options for them, and preferred reading or using his imagination compared to actually studying and remembering anything of lasting "value".

As Isaias grew, his personality issues became more tumultuous and, eventually, his overall mental health plummeted. In his pre-teen and early teenage years he suffered from even more attention issues, and started to grow generally apathetic to the world around him. The constant push to do as well as his older brother wore him down for a while and eventually he just stopped caring altogether. When was thirteen, his parents caved and sought therapy for him. This was the time when Isaias personality truly took shape, as he learned more about himself and the way he thought. He was eventually diagnosed with depression and given some basic treatment for it.

However after some time, Isaias progressed into a more and more toxic person. He withdrew from his tight knit friend group and made outside friends, he started keeping his feelings secret and to this day, that is how he functions. Due to his various addictions in the past he has developed some manipulative tendencies that were not there in his earlier years.

This, while not the cause of his depression, played a major part in his condition worsening as he watched his family and family friends all continue to build lives and make memories while he was on the outside, uninvolved because of his own vices and living in his own self designed hell.

Isaias has recently been doing much better. According to his family, anyway. He has recently come out of a rehab facility from an undisclosed location, and his parents have made him promise to keep his past struggles and his recent stay in rehab a secret from everyone else, lest he further taint the family name as the many rumors of his past have already done.

  Many things about the Channing boy tends to leave a lasting impression. The first is the raw amount of talent he possesses. Dabbling in just about everything to really find his niche, he's been at the very leas adept at anything he sets his mind too. He's a very smart cookie, and has a creativity that seems unbounded. However, the area he really shines is music. He truly becomes a different person whenever he's making music, whether it be composing, singing, or tinkering with an instrument (Whenever he has a bit of time, you can normally see him doing one of those). In addition, he also has a passion for music that many feel goes unrivaled due to the many times where He goes on endlessly about anything that even remotely connects to the art form.
  
  The next thing many tend to notice is just how socially inept Caesar is. Despite having the vocabulary of a dictionary, Caesar constantly overthinks what words to use. After all, slight differences in text can change the meaning entirely, and with all the slight differences in the human race, it'd be impossible to say the exact same thing to everyone and get the same result. Due to this way of thinking, Caesar becomes a shrinking violet when he's speaking to people on a personal one-on-one level. As such, this has caused him to try and avoid that intimate type of social interaction altogether. He rarely reveals how he's really feeling, and he tends to just go with the flow in order to avoid having to voice his thoughts on a matter, going to the extent of even pretending to feel a certain way about something just to change the topic. In addition, whenever he does talk, it's always slow and calculated, though it comes of in a very awkward manner.
  
  Though not immediately noticeable, due to the professional aura he tries to emit, Caesar is a bit cynical as well. He generally has a bad impression of pretty much anyone he meets, due to the true nature of their personalities being comp[lete mysteries at that point, and having seen and learned aboutmore than just a handful of examples where people screw people over and just make life worse for their fellow man, Caesar is normally skeptical of most people. In addition, knowing just how volatile his future would be if he followed his dreams just makes him feel even more cynical. As such, contributing to his socail ineptency, he holds as many cards to his chest as possible. Even those he somehow trusts completely, still have no idea of some of the things he keep hidden.

Having put together a piece of the story, Caesar not only wants to know the whole story, but let him know that he's there for him. After all, the few times they've hung out together has Caesar convinced that he's not actually the bad influence that many make him out to be. For one, he loves playing games, whether is a board game, video game, etc, etc. Not only does he like the infinite variety, but playing helps soothe the competitive beast inside. After all, whenever he doesn't win, he can just try again until he does. In addition, Caesar spends quite a lot of time cooking. After all, Culinary Arts is one hundred percent his second best art form. If he wasn't doing music, he'd probably become a chef. Thirdly, Caesar gets lost in all sorts of media very easily. Anime, Manga, Movies, TV Shows, Books, Fanfiction, etc. He keeps the geeky side of him at bay, but he loves escaping to other worlds. After all most of them have better people than this one. More of a disinterest than a hobby, Caesar excersizes quite a bit despite hating it. He finds it a bit too mindless for his tastes, but he does it as his need to be number one triumphs. As such Caesar decided to do just that: Set his mind to something.

He loved to sing and hum, he constantly tiinkered with the piano and violin, among other instruments, and was always talking about the newest song or technique he learned about. As such, his parents furthered that love by sending him to a performing arts school. Unfotunately, it opened his eyes to something a bit more sinister than they were trying to show him.
  
  Over the years at the school, Caesar watched the cutthroat tactics of the students, and even some of the teachers, to gain certain advantages and oppurtunities that arose. And due to the natural talent Caesar possessed, he was the target many times of those tactics, causing him to grow more and more weary of strangers. In the beginning, he began to lose his self-esteem and his confidence, but eventually he gave in as he learned a fundamental fact about the world of arts: It's just as much about who you know as it is what you know. But given his weariness of others, he had to be a bit more methodical in his approach to the top.
  
  As such, he became a bit more ruthless in his endeavors. Knowing there were two ways to win, he'd play up both. He'd constantly schmooze with the judges and people in charge, allowing him to get them on his side and then blow them away with his performances, giving his opponents no chance to overcome him. Then as the extra cherry on top, if he really didn't care for you, he'd find a way to make your performance "just a bit more unappealing" (read as: sabotage). As such, he made more than a few enemies, but due to the professional mask he'd wore and the creativity and intelligence used in his more appalling antics, they couldn't really get the dirt they needed to take him down. As such, Caesar not only grew up gaining more and more renown, but the skills necessary to manipulate and persuade people into thinking what he needed them to think.
  
  And now he's a junior in high school. He wants to become a big name performerm but knowing just how volatile the entertainment industry is has him hesitant. Name: Benjamin Ryder

Personality

Benji is someone who describes himself as "Sexy Trash". A Go with the flow kind of guy who is very much a stark contrast to his family. He loves his family....in his own way, the non-verbal way. Always quick with a surprisingly sharp tongue in contrast to his laid back "shabby" appearance, he seems to vent when riling certain people up. His "Perfect" big sister was definitely an influence on him growing up, affecting his self-confidence for years as he felt he could not compete with her.

His behaviour now aimed to frustrate and annoy his family whenever he is around them for any given amount of time. Getting a flinch, glare or even a frown is considered a win in Benji's opinion. Due to his struggles to fit in with his family (before giving up on it) he has issues with trying to commit to anything or anyone, definitely having an effect on his relationships.

Even when it came to his sexuality, he tried to label himself as Bi-sexual in some vain hope that he could fit the mold of his family. Benji tends to be someone who goes with the flow, explaining how he got into some of his wilder experiences so far.

My History

Benjamin "Benji" Ryder was born as the 1st son, 2nd child of the Ryder family. Like his siblings, he was given the best of everything. But this came with a price as Benji learnt as he grew. His family had a certain Aesthetic. He tried, like any kid wanting to fit in would do but he did not feel like himself. As he grew and entered his teens, he gave up trying to fit the mold of perfection he saw his family fitting and instead did his own thing. 2 things happened, his confidence grew but he came into more and more conflict with his family.

Did he instigate a lot of it?, probably.
Did he regret it?, sometimes.
Was it funny to annoy his sister?, god yes!.

Getting to where he is now was not easy, he went through different phases to find who he was. Due to his "wild" and "hedonistic" adventures, Benji is living a somewhat colorful life, including: Being a member of a cult for a month, being in a polygamist relationship in college, having a sugar daddy during a dispute with his parents which meant he lost his tuition.

Deep down the innocent part of Benji still longs to fit in with his family, but the grown rational part knows that he won't ever fit in fully with them.

To her elder siblings' dismay, the Ryder parents seem content to let Jenelle skate through life, unlike the pressure for perfection put on the older children. Creative and quick-witted, she can often con teachers and other adults into letting her slide, or convince her parents to intervene on her behalf. Since Arianna was given everything she could ever need or want, she learned to expect that throughout the years. She expects people to give her the best, whether its a material item or just in themselves. She's got no time for fake people; she's way too busy to try and figure out your motives. Because of this, she rarely ventures outside of her already very small friend circle. She can be hard to get along with because she's outspoken and critical, though she usually means well. It just doesn't always come across that way. She's a perfectionist to the core, and has a control streak a mile wide. If you can't do what she needs you to do, move aside, she'll just do it herself. On the outside, Arianna appears to be very confident, but she struggles with major insecurities. Is she good enough? Smart enough? Pretty enough?

Arianna was born first to the Ryder family, and because of this, she's always felt the need to be perfect. Even though her parents may not have said "this is the way you need to be", it was heavily implied. Her family had a certain image they wanted upheld, and Arianna was forced into this from the day she was born. Even her outfit that she left the hospital in had to be perfect, though of course she only knows this because of how many times she's heard the story. Being the oldest, she's always felt a certain responsibility to be the epitome of perfection, even disregarding her parents pressure to be that way.

In school, Arianna made near perfect grades. She didn't make true friends easily, as most people just wanted to be around her once they learned her name and found out she had money. In fact, she had one friend for years who finally came clean freshman year of high school and told Ari that she'd only befriended her for that reason, and she didn't actually like Ari. This of course hurt Arianna, but she just threw herself into her studies. She does have one best friend, though Arianna is a bit jealous of her free spirited personality and seeming lack of responsibilities.

Nika is the eldest of the Channing children, a kind, artistic free spirit. She has a very warm and loving nature, always wanting to make others feel good. Her personal mission in life is to make everyone around her feel special and loved. She is very caring, accepting and non-judgmental, making her a great listener to unload your troubles to or confide in with a secret.

Nika comes off as the breezy, effortlessly cool girl. She gives off an earthy, witchy vibe; a neo-hippie quality evident in her penchant for nature, peace, love, and all manner of new age garbage like healing crystals and oils.



Basic History
Under all the layers of culture and sophistication, Nika is the undeniable failure of the Channing family. Nika has always been impulsive to a pernicious degree, bouncing from one half-cocked whim to the next like a manic pinball, never actually following through or accomplishing anything. If she does manage to start a new endeavor, she can't help but sabotage it immediately. It's not uncommon for Nika to ditch school or work for days at a time, running off to some exotic locale with a new lover or friends she just met. These chaotic relationships fizzle out quickly, and soon enough she's back home, ready to blissfully start the cycle anew. The bohemian Channings' laissez-faire approach to parenting always allowed this behavior to go unchecked, leaving her free to self destruct into adulthood.

She seems unaware, or unwilling to face the full extent of her issues; she'd describe herself as merely "flighty." Her parents constantly bailing her out of trouble means she rarely has to deal with the negative consequences of her actions, shielding her from the reality that she's a colossal fuck-up.

Nika has arrived at 23 as an unemployed trainwreck, leaving a string of failed relationships and careers in her wake. After flunking out of art school, she's currently sponging off her parents until she flutters off on her next flight of fancy.

Nika has a deep love and admiration for her best friend, Arianna Ryder. All their lives, Nika has followed Arianna around like a lost puppy, finding comfort and inspiration in Arianna's strength, capability, and staunch drive to achieve her goals. As they've grown up together, Nika's attraction to her best friend has only gotten stronger.

Kieran has always been rather intelligent, quick to understand and learn. He's quick-witted, though he often kept his remarks to himself when he was younger. He'd usually whisper his thoughts to his best friend, the middle Ryder child, who would then say them aloud for all to hear. Kieran didn't mind, though, because then his friend could get a nice little ego-boost from the laughs. And if the jokes fell short, well then, at least Kieran wasn't the one getting the blame.

Kieran never would've described himself as adventurous. As a kid, he was never one to take risks or try new things. However, a lot of that has changed in the past year or so. Traveling overseas for school was an adventure all in itself, and it has opened Kieran's eyes to a world of possibilities.

Kieran is probably the most responsible of his siblings, and almost everyone who knows him knows that he's capable of being trusted. He's honest and reliable; people have consistently called him a good person his whole life. He prides himself in having high morals, concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior and the goodness or badness of human character. Some may even say he's a little self-righteous, the constant praise he's received over the years having gone to his head a bit. But, come on, he can't help that he's just such a good guy.

More than anything, Kieran is focused. He's concentrated on his studies and his future, and he's just now seeing all of the possibilities.

And while he intends to remain the courteous and polite boy he's always been, he's also not going to allow anyone to hold him back anymore.

Kieran has always considered himself to be straight, but a drunken kiss that he shared with a handsome Italian man while he was studying abroad has him questioning things.

Basic History
Kieran loves his family, but didn't always feel as though he fit in with their free spirits. His older sister would often tease him for acting 'robotic,' which may have been what drew him to the engineering.

He was always very close to the middle Ryder child, whose crass personality was nearly the polar opposite of Kieran's reserved demeanor. Their similar interests and awkwardness (and their families being friends, of course) brought them together, and they grew very close -- mainly because they were outcasts and no one else to turn to. Even as they got older and delved into different extra-curriculars (meaning that Kieran focused more on school and the robotics club, and his friend focused more on partying and getting high), they still always had each other's backs. The middle Ryder child was the only person that Kieran ever really considered a friend. However, they haven't seen each other in over a year. Kieran's worried he might have grown up too much to continue the friendship.

Kieran got involved in the robotics club when he was about ten. He fell in love with it immediately and went on to win many competitions across the country with his robotics team. This earned him a full-ride in the engineering program at the school of his dreams.

His sophomore year in college, he got the opportunity to study abroad in Italy -- and he took it, much to his own surprise and everyone else's.

While in Italy, he grew into someone almost unrecognizable. He became social and charming -- and happy, for once. Now that he's back in the States, he's wondering if he always had that in him -- and what kept him from being that person that he now loves being.​
