[Desolation] Chapter 1: Digging In

Yeah, Hooper. I had assumed from yelling tips and getting into stance, you're assisting. So, Ryoma, roll+hard. Hooper, roll+Hx (with Ryoma).

All right. So, the biker rides straight for you. Ryoma, you put out your sword and drop your robe, hoping to kill him right now. Instead, he deftly ducks your weapon and grabs you by the waist. You're now slung over his shoulder as he rides away.


Hooper, you see this asshole grab Ryoma and ride off.


What do you both do?

Ah yes! The rebar. I consider this going aggro since he's not fighting back (he doesn't really know it's happening). Roll+hard, please.
 
She throws with all her might, rebar sliding out from her weathered hands and streaking towards the bike. On target.


As soon as it leaves her hands, Hooper sprints after them.
 
Out in the desert ...


Hooper, you throw the rebar through the spokes of the front wheel. It stops and the bike flips. The biker let's go of Ryoma and lands on his head, snapping his neck on contact [2-harm]. Ryoma, you don't fly as far and end up rolling in the sand naked [1-harm]. You still have your saber.


(Don't forget armor does apply.)


The other bikers now take notice and leave the caravan alone for the moment. They split into two gangs to engage you both at the same time.


Ryoma you're still lying on the when two Red Skulls ride at you. One whips a chain at you while the other fires a beat up Uzi.


Hooper, two other bikers ride at you. One throws a net at you while the other tries to hit you with a crowbar as he rides by.


What do you guys do?


On the wall of the Prison ...


Graves, you're seeing Hooper and Ryoma fight the biker gang out there. In the morning light, you manage to make out a red smear on their flags. Probably the Red Skulls.

At Fauci's workshop ...


Fauci, you still have Balls' pistol to your head. Red Bean seemed to be possessed for a moment. Now she's back to normal.

A net? Good for wild things that thrashed. Hooper wasn't thrashing around. She stands calmly, having watched Ryoma tumble to safety on the sandy floor. Now a man was trying to hit her with a crowbar and someone was throwing nets. Ignoring the net for the most part, Hooper gauges the distance carefully and attempts to seize the crowbar wielder by force, grabbing his arm and yanking him from the bike.

Nice. I like that roller a lot. Probably start using it for other games personally.


Okay, on a 7-9, he gets to choose 1. You scare the bejesus out of him. He knows if he comes at you straight on, you're going to break him in two. At the last moment, he skids his bike, kicking up sand and turns away.


The other Red Skull throws his net at you. This'll be acting under fire, and the fire is whether he gets you snared in the net. Roll+cool.
 
Hooper, you pull the net off like a child's play thing. You don't even flinch as he rides by. He turns his bike, trying to circle back around for another pass.


What do you do?


Ryoma, you lie on the desert floor, naked, cover in sand. Two of the Red Skulls are circling around you, cackling and hooting.


What do you do?
 
Ryoma stands upright. The dust strains off her skin, revealing to both their fates: one will be burned in a furnace, eternally, his liquid flesh clinging to his bones: he will burn as those he burned for sport. The other... the other will be speared on a pike and scream, scream with thousands of others in forest of such, their pleas falling on the callous ears of wrathful gods. Yes, if they can still feel terror they ought to know it -- they ought to know what Ryoma will soon send them to.
 
Hooper, your rebar lodges itself perfectly in the spokes of his front wheel. The bike flips sending its riding rolling through the desert. When he stops, he raises his head to look at you, then starts dragging himself to his revolver which had been tossed from his pocket.


What do you do?


Ryoma, badass. I love the hell tattoos. So, are you trying to go aggro with your tattoos?
 
Ryoma, you hear one Red Skull scream to the other, "Let's get the fuck out of here!". The second nods and they both tear off after their fleeing comrade. You can see Hooper has killed one biker and knocked another off his bike. He's dragging himself to his fallen revolver.


What do you do?
 
Stride over and step on the revolver. Crouch. Smile.


"In the moments before your death, I will attempt to save you from rebirth in the hell realms. Do you understand?"
 
Ryoma, he hocks a loogie on your foot. It's nice and thick. It feels warm. "I could show you true hell, bitch."

She hustles over, moving with an unnatural rigidity that made her look like she was almost twitching. The machete is black except for the line of the razor edge. It glints in tandem with her mask.


It was obvious she was going to kill this man in a greusome fashion, he knew, she knew it. There was little that could be done


Rolling for seizing that bastards life by force via a machete to the spine.

Ryoma looks down at it. "I see your life, about to end, as a machete is driven into your back. Listen closely to me: you must remain still. Even as you are butchered--" blood likely is splattered across her skin by now "--ignore the gods of vengeance, calling you to your doom. Ignore the screams of your victims, howling for restitution. Remain immoveable... look upon the range of fornicating beings and do not panic. Seek a rebirth in which you will find the dharma. And in doing so, transcend your fate."
 
Hooper, you stride up and chop the bastard spine in two, killing him instantly.


Ryoma, you give him your sermon as blood is sprayed from the machete to his back.


Half this pack of motorcycle bastards lies dead on the ground. The other half has fled with their tails between their legs. You both stand in the desert wind, dust kicking up all around you, looking at a massacred caravan. There're dead bodies everywhere. Three men, four women, and a few kids. The trucks and RVs are mostly intact.


What do you both do?
 
No survivors? Unfortunate. Ryoma gets dressed and passes through the ruins of the battle, casting about for anyone still breathing.
