Sofia's Rest
Interacting with: JJae JJae
Cazendra's words filled Sofia with a sense of warmth and she couldn't help but smile at her new boss. When their handshake ended and the siren leaned back and away from Sofia, the dark-haired female ran her fingers through her hair and sighed. It would definitely take her some time to get used to holding that position of power, but she would grow into it. Even though this new job most likely brought lots of work and responsibility with it, Sofia didn't mind. As the rush of the moment came down within the shadow demoness, her eyes settled back into a more neutral sky-blue color. She looked into Cazendra's eyes once more, awaiting some sort of instruction or perhaps some work that she would need to do as her first task. To her surprise, no such work seemed to come.

Instead, her superior invited her to have coffee the following morning, which Sofia recognized as an opportunity to get to know each other better. Seeing as they were going to be spending lots of time together, it would be best if they understood each other and connected. "I'd love to have coffee tomorrow with you," her words came out with a mixture of excitement and tiredness as Sofia's long day was finally taking its toll on her,
"and don't worry about the tour, I know there's more important things to deal with right now." Her head turned to face Criad and she gave him a smile, knowing he had his hands full as well and didn't need a tour on top of his other responsibilities at that moment. Considering what had been going on, the clan would need all hands on deck to ensure this problem was quashed as soon as possible.

When Sofia was dismissed, she gave Cazendra a quick nod and stepped towards the door.
"Thanks again for everything; both of you have been great." Sofia made sure to turn to Criad as well to thank him for his help. As her hand held the door and she looked towards the outside corridor, Sofia stopped. Before exiting the office and closing the door behind her, the dark-haired demoness peeked her head inside one more time to look at Cazendra. "By the way, you can call me Sof," she said with a wink, "see you tomorrow!" With that, Sofia stepped into the corridor and carefully closed the door behind her. Pressing her back against the door, Sofia closed her eyes and sighed deeply. As it turned out, making the trip from far away back to Haven and then chasing down and capturing a murderer was pretty tiring. I really should get some sleep before my responsibilities start piling up.

It didn't take long for Sofia to make her way through the hallways and into the residential part of HQ. Some guards passed by her and offered her tired looks and nods, clearly exhausted as well, and all she could manage was weak smiles and the occasional greeting. Finally, a metal door with a handprint scanner stood before her and she sighed with relief. Within a matter of seconds, Sofia's hand pressed against the scanner, causing the lock on the door to retreat and allowing her to open and promptly shut the door behind her. Deciding that showering would be too much of a hassle, Sofia slipped into a dark green nightgown and collapsed onto her bed, shutting her eyes and falling asleep almost immediately.

i prefer not to think before speaking. i like being just as surprised as everyone else by what comes out of my mouth. sometimes it ends well, and other times? not so much.

i've lost myself long ago

THE AIR GREW THICK AS NAOMI MADE THEMSELVES known to the two. The cold sending shivers down the lengths of his spine, chilling him to the core despite the thick warmth wrapped around his compact frame. It seemed to seep into his bones sending a familiar throb that brought an inaudible whine to his lips.

Yuhwa stared at the other with widened hues, lips parted in a silent plea to walk away. He could feel the shame churl in his stomach, leaving him queasy and willing his stomach to not throw up whatever he’d eaten two days ago. His light blue hues flickered to Eunwoo’s grave with a grimace. Eunwoo would be rolling in his grave, wouldn’t he?

He wanted his brother more than anything, but even he knew the dead didn’t come back. Everyone left eventually. It was inevitable. He knew. He knew that more than anyone, although he couldn’t say for others. It hurt. The pain becoming unbearable. Yuhwa was nothing more than a drop in the ocean. Insignificant. He truly wondered what the previous leader saw in him. If Yuhwa couldn’t see it, then why?

He let out a choked wheeze at the pressure Sebastian applied, drawing a pitiful whine to escape parted lips. His lungs struggling to breathe. Yuhwa could. He could very well shove Sebastian off of himself, but his body ignored it.

Sebastian never took long. Yuhwa just had to be silent and wait. That’s it. Sebastian wouldn’t take long if Yuhwa cooperated. He’d be alright.

Yuhwa’s tongue peeped out, licking at the dried blood in a struggle with himself. His mind wanting to move while his body refused to cooperate. His grip tightened around Sebastian’s wrist, head tilted with a sneer upon his lips. His light blue hues dancing with pain, but beneath was flickering furry at the male above him.

“Peaches—” He grunted. His lips parting like a fish out of water. His light blue hues watering. Please leave. He begged the other. The coldness becoming a comfortable numbness against his frame that was wracked with shivers.

He hadn’t realized the other had followed him until they appeared, their frame a void-like hue, contrasting against their snowy white locks. It was a sight to behold, one Yuhwa would have appreciated more if it wasn’t for the fact Sebastian had his fingers wrapped tightly around his throat, cutting off his air supply.

Sebastian was stiff, staring at the other with narrowed green hues that reminded Yuhwa of lime. “Oh? He’s a great leader? Could have fooled me.” The red-haired sneered. His fingers interlocked in Yuhwa’s strawberry pink locks tugged harshly, dragging a sharp hiss from Yuhwa. He smirked at the reaction, his green hues darkened. He sighed. “Doubtful.” The demon mulled over his options, unaware the second-in-command had followed Yuhwa. It seemed his plans were foiled.

His lips curled into a sneer. “Does pathetic little Yuhwa need a bodyguard?” He laughed. “Such a shame. A talent like yourself waisted for someone like him.” He unfurled his hand from Yuhwa’s soft locks, head cocked with a cheeky grin.

His green hues narrowed at the list of accusations, the male merely letting out a puff of air. “Blackmail? Assault? Oh, dear.” He pressed the palm of his hand to his forehead, shoulders shaking in disbelief. “We’re merely playing around, weren’t we little Yuhwa?” He glanced down at the pinkette withering beneath his grasp. “Besides! How could it be blackmail when I speak nothing, but the truth?” He shrugged. “Such a shame that power has been corrupted.” He pinched the bridge of his nose.

The red-haired male noting the continuous drop in temperature. His own frame shivering beneath his furred coat. His lips peeled back into a snarl. “Alright. Alright. No need to get forceful, mhm? After all, I am unarmed. How would that go if commoners caught wind of such a feat?” His gaze brimming with anger.

His next actions sent Yuhwa grunting with the force. His head thumping against the ground with a squawk. Light blue hues widening behind his mask that was now tossed to the side, revealing flushed cheeks and bitten lips that oozed crimson. His pale complex lacking much color, appearing ghostly white, gooseflesh rising along his exposed midriff.

Sebastian sneered down at the pinkette, fingers curling around the obsidian-hued sweater, tightening his grip. Yuhwa grunted as he was hauled to his feet, sucking in greedy mouthfuls of air. His gaze nothing but panicked as he stared at the ground, fluffy strawberry pink locks obscuring his vision.

“Sebastian—” Yuhwa attempted to pull free from his grasp, only to be tugged into a tight embrace. The visible flinch did nothing to help as he squeezed his eyes shut in preparation for something his body expected while his mind reeled at being so close to the other, taking in strong whiffs of frankincense, orange, and cypress.

Yuhwa let out a choked whine, unaware of his surroundings save for the cold seeping into his boots that grounded him. His light blue hues locking onto green. He noted the quick flash of silver. His body tensing at the blade held tight within Sebastian’s grasp, pressing against the delicate flesh of his cheek. “We aren’t done, little Yuhwa. I believe we have much to catch up on.” The male hummed into the pinkette’s ear.

Yuhwa made a noise of disagreement, but otherwise kept his mouth shut. His head titled off to the side, unable to look at the other anymore than he had too. Too close. Get away— Yuhwa didn’t want this.

The death of a leader. His brother’s anniversary? Now this? Yuhwa wanted to break down. Everything was too much. His mind a whirlwind. He just wanted things to stop.

He didn’t notice the male shove the other away until his back slammed into the headstone, head sill downcast.

“Goodbye! It was a pleasure to see you again little Yuhwa!” His gaze flickered to Naomi with a sneer. “You? I’d rather we never have met, but be a good mutt, will you? I’d hate to see what would happen if you failed to protect your little leader.” Sebastian hummed. “How’s that for an uncultured swine?” He laughed.

Yuhwa watched with blurry vision as Sebastian stalked off to who knows where. The pinkette letting out a choked sob, bringing his hand to cover his face now that his mask was gone. His chest constricted like a snake choking its prey. He felt horrible. The male glancing up at Naomi with owlish hues, appearing lost.

He shuffled to his feet. “Peaches?” He echoed. His heart thrumming within his chest. His arm extended, attempting to stop ( not that Yuhwa could stop Naomi in their demonic form ) from giving chase. “It’s alright.” His bloodied lips curled into a half-hearted smile.

He hadn’t noticed the blood that bubbled along the shallow cut of his cheek. The pad of his finger skimming the fresh cut with a frown, brows furrowed. Had he been so out of it he didn’t notice? Yuhwa slumped. His body unable to hold itself up.

He sighed, forehead pressing against the ground. “That was fun.” His tone humorous despite the glass-filled look in his light blue hues. Anything else? He joked.

He shuffled, falling back onto his knees, allowing the sweater to fully encase him in its familiar warmth. It’s welcoming warmth a great comfort to the pain that thrummed like a heartbeat. His mind a whirling mess of anguish and wanting nothing more than to curl up in his office chair.

His gaze narrowed, looking for his mask. His lips parted with a small chirp at the sight of the familiar object a few feet away from his collapsed form. Yuhwa didn’t have the energy to grab it, instead, burrowing his head into the depths of his sweater.

“Would it be odd to sleep here?” He jokes. A sliver of his forehead and eyes visible beneath the cuff of his sweater. With a sigh, he stumbled to his feet. His light blue hues watching Naomi with a tentative hum. The pad of his finger brushing against the cut, smearing blood across the milky white flesh.

He shuffled over towards the other, face still burrowed within the depths of his sweater, taking in the subtle scent of cedarwood, pine, and vetiver. He reached out hesitantly, brows pinched together. “Let’s go back, yeah? ” His voice lacking any luster save for the dull tinge it possessed.

He was tired. The male swaying where he stood, glancing at his fallen mask, but not having the energy to pick it up. He sighed. His fingers reaching to pull at the neck of the sweater, closing his eyes with a keen. He hated how his eyes continued to water, unable to hold back the tears that trickled down his cheeks.

“Sorry.” He mumbled. Shame churning in his stomach. It had been his own fault such events occurred. It seemed, even months after everything, he still couldn’t get rid of his mistakes and pain. “You alright, peaches?” He glanced up with owlish hues.

”Let’s just …” Yuhwa couldn’t finish. His head dropping with a sadden trill. “Nevermind!” He chirped, offering Naomi a watery grin. "Let's get out of here."

Black Rose second(s)-in-command
Fronter: Crimson
Starring: gmimperfecti gmimperfecti Darkbloom Darkbloom

Crimson of course had no way out of the meeting with the leader. He did not trust him one bit after the conversation he heard and recorded, nor did he trust that facade of politeness he held. Speaking like a wise, moderate man... could he be persuaded into letting his guard down? Crimson abided to both Bloody Moon's demons and took a seat.

"You must excuse my rudeness, to come into your ship uninvited. I might not be the most well-mannered, and I apologize for that. And I understand your words, the fastest way to resolve a conflict is indeed to have a mature conversation, to reach a resolution amongst those involved. But I'm still doubtful of there being a conflict between eachother. As long as you conduct yourself in a legal, honest way, there doesn't need to be one."

He didn't completely lie. After all, they had spoken about doing things by the book, even if those things perhaps conflicted with what he felt were the interests of Haven. He reached for a glass of wine Carmine probably served oh so tenderly to him. But a quick wiff of it's contents, he detected the presence of deadly nightshade in the mix. A whisper came out of his mouth. "Let this be the last time you poison my food, Carmine." The wine emitted a sickly green glow for a moment, and he started feeling the deadly effects of the nightsade within his system. But as soon as he was poisoned, he ingested the now healing ichor. A show of his hyper-specific plant property manipulation powers.

Carmine smiled. “I so love watching you work Crimson.” Watching the transformation take place, Carmine gave Crimson a small bow of his head, “I knew we had selected the perfect vintage.”

Carmine’s eyes narrowed every so slightly as he lifted his finger to his ear. “Interesting. My lord, it would seem that the Black Rose leader is also about to die.“ Carmine tsked, annoyed that his hunt with his lord might be cut short. “They really don’t make leaders like they used to.” He shrugged, “But that needed prevent us from our hunt.“ He smiled and clapped his hands in glee.

Asmoday raised an eyebrow. "Is that so? Then I'm afraid this little attempt at a trip has all been for nothing." He sighs and stands up, turning to the Black Rose second. "For trespassing onto my airship... I can dismiss that, this time. However, I won't stand idly by while you insist on accusing my clan for illegal dealings. As soon as Vincent is feeling better I'm going to have a talk with him about your baseless words." He starts to leave the room, being finished with this talk. He needs to get back to the office. "Guards, make sure the Black Rose second leaves as soon as we reach the main area of Haven." Asmoday makes no mention of increasing the guard detail around the entrance to dissuade other potential intruders. "Carmine, the hunt will have to wait. I'm going back to Bloody Moon territory to check up on the citizens." After that he will make sure Carmine is occupied while he searches for origins of the Blood Rose.

i've lost myself long ago

THE PINKETTE LAID CURLED UP BENEATH A pile of blankets he’d cocooned himself in the second he’d gotten home last night. His light blue hues void of emotion, nothing more than blank slates until he snapped out of his stupor at the sound of rapid knocks. He blinked several times to reel himself into the present, head cocked. Who could that be? He absently worried the tender flesh of his bottom lip while wiggling out of bed, wrapping the thick blanket around his petite frame.

His muscles coiled beneath milky white skin as he drew near, fingers twitching to reach for his given weapon, which was burrowed beneath his pillows. The same weapon that would have been stored properly if it wasn’t for his run in with Sebastian. The prickling fear of the red-headed male finding out where he lived overpowering everything else despite the steady reminder that nothing horrible would happen, or at least, Yuhwa forced himself to believe.

It was simple. Lying to himself. It was easier in these situations. It had him a peace of mind, even if it was false. He barely slept, as evident by the bags beneath his hooded hues.

Despite the squirming fear in the pit of his stomach, Yuhwa peeled open the door with a nervous trill. His gaze narrowing through the crack to see a pair of bright blue hues. Yuhwa tensed. His lips parting in an ‘o’ shape. “You gonna let us in pipsqueak, or are you gonna make us stand out here all day?” Mason quipped.

“Eh?” The pinkette shuffled to the side, the door widening to allow the two blue-eyed males into the cozy apartment filled to the brim with greenery and splashes of color. It was a mess, but at least Yuhwa knew where everything was … mostly.

He watched the two amble about until two arms wrapped around Yuhwa’s slim waist, tugging him to a muscular chest with a grunt. Yuhwa’s brows furrowed, letting the powerful scent of driftwood flood his senses, calming him down until he laid, slumped against Mason’s front with a lazy hum.

“How you holding up, pinkie?” Mason rumbled. The sound sending shivers down the lengths of his spine.

Yuhwa shrugged his blanket clad shoulders, gripping the material between his fingers. Was he okay? “I’ll be fine!” He chirped. He’d be fine. He had to be fine. Yuhwa was a leader, after all. He couldn’t afford to be off-centered, even in the slightest. So, yeah. Yuhwa will be fine … right?

He sure as hell hoped so.

The pinkette shuffled until he wrapped his arms around Mason’s waist, humming in content until realization settled, bringing the male pulling away from the other. His eyebrows furrowed in concern. “B, Bluebell?” He trilled.

The raven-haired male snorted, ruffling pinkish locks with a rumble that vibrated deep within his throat. “Don’t worry about that, pipsqueak. I’m more worried about your dumbass.” He huffed. “He hasn’t contacted you, right? If he has, I’ll blow his ass until there’s nothing left.” His lips peeled back to reveal sharp canines. Yuhwa shook his head, offering the taller male a sheepish grin.

“No! No. Just … Just yesterday. That’s all.”

Mason sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Damnit.” The pinkette tilted his head with a trill. “I’m sorry you had to deal with that fucker. I still don’t know what you saw in that bastard, but I get it. I do.”

Yuhwa smile wobbled at the statement, tears prickling at the corner of his hues, sucking in a breath. Don’t cry. Don’t cry. He shuffled, burrowing himself in Mason’s embrace while Vaitiare moved about, cleaning up the place, or at least, making sure nothing would explode or injure themselves.

“I had peaches with me—” He mumbled. “I didn’t realize they followed me.” He huffed out a laugh. “Silly peaches.” He muttered.

Mason barked out a laugh, threading his fingers through soft strawberry pink hair. “You and you damn fruit nicknames.” He glanced up to watch Vaitiare, brows furrowed. “You gotta head to headquarters soon? Vaitiare can help you get dressed. I’d cook, but–” Mason pouted. “I can’t cook for shit.”

Yuhwa snorted, letting Vaitiare guide him to his bedroom with a slight bounce in his steps. The raven-haired male watched with crossed arms, fingers drumming against his biceps. His gaze narrowed into slits.

The Shimizu brothers had gotten a call late into the night. He would have cursed whoever it was until Yuhwa’s voice filtered through, stumbling through his poor explanation. His fists clenched, skin turning ghostly white at their conversation, nostrils flaring. “The next time that fucker even thinks of getting near him? I’m killing the damn asshole.” He muttered, feet carrying him deeper into the livingroom, flopping onto the couch with a tired groan. “Damnit.” He huffed, head thumping against the wall, bright blue hues staring at the ceiling.

Yuhwa slipped into his bedroom, letting the blanket fall from his sinewy frame with a cat-like yawn. His arms stretching high above his head as Vaitiare slipped into the small closet, fingering through articles of clothing. “We brought our clothes.” He gestured towards the mound on the bed.

His lips parted in an ‘o’ at the sight, body wiggling into a launch as Vaitiare went about picking today’s outfit. Yuhwa was fashionable, but Vaitiare? Vaitiare was on another level. “Thank you! Thank you!” He chirped, burrowing himself in Mason’s black trench coat. The once dead expression brightening as he relished in the familiar scents he knew as safe.

Mason and Vaitiare were home to him. Even if he would always be home, but now? Yuhwa had a few people that were just … home. Home. Such a silly notion. Wouldn’t his apartment be home? It was, but it also wasn’t. People were home to Yuhwa.

“—Hua.”

He blinked several times, peeking up from beneath the pile of clothing the twins brought with a hum of acknowledgement, head cocked. Vaitiare shook his head, dragging a hand through raven-hued locks. His expression was deadpan despite the warmth swirling within his blue hues at the sight of Yuhwa. It brought a pang of sadness, but he was quick to shove it down. Yuhwa needed them.

“I found an outfit.” The blue-eyed male held up the outfit that had a mixture of his own and the twins. “I figured you’d like this.” The other shrugged. “You can wear the trench coat with it.” Vaitiare added on.

Yuhwa bobbed his head, shuffling out of the pile of clothing he’d placed around his bed, followed by the plush blankets he’d accumulated over the past few months. “Thanks butterfly!” Yuhwa stumbled over towards the other, fingers brushing through the fabric with a giddy hum.

It comprised a turtle neck-like shirt that clung to his pectorals, exposing the entirety of his midsection with a threaded design on either side ( courtesy of Vaitiare ), paired with a leather belt wrapped snugly around his neck doing wonders to hide the bruising along his throat.

A sleeveless vest was laid on top that had drooping cut-outs for his arms with a slim black belt wrapped just above his floating ribs. A series of belts with various thicknesses were wrapped just below the first belt, covering up some ( if not all ) of his exposed midsection. He was thankful for the semi-coverage. The leather belts and sleeveless vest covering most of his bruising.

Yuhwa then slipped on a pair of identical fingerless glove-like gauntlets that curl around his thumb and second finger in gold that leave his palms exposed, but otherwise cover the top of his hands with armbands with a golden buckle that wrap snugly around his biceps.

The pinkette then slipped into a pair of pants that rest low on his hips, exposing the obvious jut of his hipbones that flex beneath his milky white skin. He hummed, letting Vaitiare wrap identical belts around his thighs, just above his knees ( for style, of course ).

Yuhwa twirled around in his outfit, grinning as Vaitiare slung Mason’s black trench coat over his shoulders, hiding his body from view. “Mason has your mask.” The other spoke, ushering him out the door to Mason. “I’ll grab your boots.”

“Ah—Alright! Alright! I’m going!” He laughed. His light blue hues gaining their cheeky spark despite the obvious bags beneath his eyes.

He shuffled into the livingroom, letting the long sleeves hang as he curled his arms around himself, fiddling with the golden chain that was attached to the first belt. “Butterfly said you had my mask?” Yuhwa trilled in question.

Mason grunted in confrontation, patting the couch to his right, letting Yuhwa flop with a grunt. The male quick to note the wince that Yuhwa schooled as quickly as it came. His lips curled into a sneer at the sight. Noting the visible bruising beneath Yuhwa’s attire. The churning anger bubbling to the surface once more.

“’S alright! Really! It doesn’t hurt that much.” Yuhwa chirped. He grumbled.

“Right.”

He held out an identical mask to the other. Yuhwa graciously accepted it. His fingers rubbing at the familiar texture with a sigh of relief. His body curling into itself as he leaned against the other. Mason uncurling his arm to bring the other close, tucking the other into his chest with a soothing rumble. “We’ll take you to headquarters, so get some sleep, pinkie. You look dead on your feet.”

The pinkette hummed, allowing himself to burry his nose into Mason’s shoulder, relishing in the familiar driftwood and spices that he associated as Mason’s. His body held tightly as Vaitiare slipped on a pair of brown combat-like boots that rose to his calves.
“You think he’ll be alright?” Vaitiare asked.

Mason glanced down at the slumbering male tucked into his chest, frowning. “Fuck if I know, but we’ll be there for the pipsqueak, that’s for damn sure. He’s got enough shit on his plate as it is. Don’t need to add his fucked up boyfriends to the mix.” He huffed. “Damn assholes.” He pinched the bridge of his nose as Vaitiare reached over to brush the pad of his thumb against Yuhwa’s high cheekbone.

“Should I—”

“No. I’ll ask Kavan. He’s the better cook out of all of us morons. Besides! Keane—the fucker! Won’t even let me in the damn kitchen. Jokes on him, though. Kavan hasn’t banned me yet.” He stuck his tongue out, cheeks puffed.

“.... Alright.” Vaitiare might never understand the dynamics between the five of them. He wasn’t even sure if he wanted to understand.

Yuhwa hummed, sliding out of the car, followed by Vaitiare as Mason slipped out of the driver’s seat. The three standing in front of the main entrance while people mingled about. Some offering their greetings to the leader while others tried to be subtle as they peered at the three, hoping for something exciting to happen.

He sighed. The pinkette tugging the large trench coat closer to his frame, welcoming the heat that it provided. His light blue hues dulling, knowing well enough that Naomi might want answers, and they deserved to know, but could Yuhwa really do that? He trusted Naomi with his life and the thought of losing them? Yuhwa couldn’t imagine a life without their second-in-command. Naomi was peaches. He couldn’t lose them. Yuhwa loved them ( of course, not romantically ). Naomi was home just as much as Mason and Vaitiare were.

“Ready?” Mason came to stand beside the other, offering his side to which Yuhwa graciously accepted despite the ripple of gasps and mumbling that rose. He snuggled into Mason’s embrace with a trill as Vaitiare rocked on the balls of his heels, watching the two with a subtle quirk of his lips.

“Not really, but … I will be!” He chirped. His tone was nonetheless convincing, but Yuhwa was getting there. He’d be okay as long as he didn’t have any … other encounters with his past boyfriends. He shook his head, banishing those thoughts. Something he had no intentions of opening up soon, but he doubted he could get out of it any longer than he already had.

He sighed, nuzzling into Mason’s warmth, becoming pliable as the raven-haired male moved him around until he was tucked into his embrace. The powerful scent of driftwood and spices lulling him into a relaxed state despite the mask digging painfully into his skin. Yuhwa didn’t mind so much if he could stay wrapped up in Mason’s embrace with Vaitiare close by, radiating calmness and gentleness.

Yuhwa puffed out his cheeks, knowing he had to leave. He had multiple things to do, especially seeing if he could slip by Naomi to test out the prototypes they’ve gradually been preparing. Of course, when do I ever listen to anyone? He snorted against the male’s collarbone, drawing a gruff snort from the male in question. “What’s so funny, pipsqueak?”

Yuhwa giggled. “Nothing! Just some things I need to get done.” He pulled away from the other, standing on his own two feet with the large trench coat wrapped snugly around his frame. His fingers were the only sliver of milky white flesh visible against the dark landscape. The nimble appendages curled loosely around the cuff of the sleeves.

Just as he padded away from the twins, the sound of rapid barking shattered the fragile serenity Yuhwa had found himself in. His body froze, locking up at the sight of the large canine running towards him.

His throat constricted, drawing in weak breaths as a pitiful whine escaped his lips. His light blue hues widening in terror. He couldn’t—Yuhwa felt weak. His body begging him to run. Get away. He needed to—A pathetic whimper escaped. Why couldn’t he move?

His breath came in short, but quick pants. Blood roaring loudly in his ears. He couldn’t breathe. Why couldn’t he breathe?

Yuhwa felt himself shrink, curling into himself in a pathetic attempt to appear smaller than he was. The fowl stench hitting him like a tone of bricks, even if the canine wasn’t anywhere close to him. He wheezed.

]Blood. His mind reeled at the thick stretch, making him gag. He coughed, body crumbling with a pitiful mewl. Everything was wrong. He was back there in the alleyway, huddled behind a dumpster as a pack of dogs stood over him. Their teeth snapping at anything they could grasp as he struggled to shove the only food he could find in days.

Why was he here? He couldn’t remember. His body was too small. His skin felt loose and wrong. His heart thumped harshly against his sternum like hummingbird wings. He could feel himself to be pulled in two directions. His older self lay crumped in the middle of the sidewalk while he was trapped in his own mind. His own memories. He felt wrong. Everything—Yuhwa bit back a cry that bubbled from within his throat.

His arms raising above his head to shield himself from the onslaught of snapping jaws and blistering pain. He choked on his breath. His chest tightening with each passing second. His lips trembling as he gaped like a fish out of water. Please! No more!

A quiet sob escaped his lips without meaning to. The young child letting out whimpers as the dogs circled his frame. Their gaping maws tearing into tender flesh and leaving physiological scars Yuhwa doubted he’d ever be able to recover from.

A larger canine towered over his compact frame, preparing to rip into bloodied flesh with unhinged jaws, drool dribbling onto Yuhwa with wet sounding plops. He flinched, hands reaching to clasp over his ears, hoping to block out that dreaded sounded, but it seemed pointless.

His eyes cast down, staring at the blackened pavement with a whimper. His body trembling, wanting nothing more than to run, but running was pointless. He tried. They always caught up to him. It was pointless to resist.
Yuhwa winced as the gobs of drool rained down on his petite frame. Breath coming in quick and shallow, allowing the pounding headache to take over. He could feel it throb with each beat until it was the only thing he could “hear” that didn’t drive him insane. Black dots clouded his vision, threatening to pass out right in the grasp of the very beings that gave him nightmares.

He fought back the cry that bubbled up. He felt disgusting. The drool leaving him sticky and uncomfortable while the rancid small of dog left him gagging. He wanted it to stop. Make it stop. The pinkette curled into himself further, flinching at the skim of fingers across his clothed shoulder.

He could barely make out the talking that pooled with concern. Talking? Dogs—Dogs can’t talk. Yuhwa frowned, peering up at the massive beast who snarled. He flinched. A whine ripping out from parted lips.

“Damnit! Han—Fuck!” He could barely make out someone’s voice.

A second joining in. “Don’t … rational … panic.” He made out with difficulty. Who?

He felt himself slowly come too. Blinking several times to clear his vision that pooled with tears, collecting around his chin and sliding down his throat. Where? He couldn’t remember. I was sleeping at the apartment, wasn’t I?

He could make out hushed whispers. The familiar sound of a voice snarling at the crowd to fuck off, causing Yuhwa to furrow his eyebrows. “M, Mason?” He whispered. The rare occasion when he didn’t use nicknames. The twins staring down at the pinkette.

“Fuck. I’m here, pipsqueak. Come on. You're safe now. Nothing going to hurt you, alright? I won’t let that fucking happen, you hear me? Over my dead body, will I let any fucker hurt you.” He snarled.

“I don’t … No dying.” He mumbled. Why did he feel so horribly tired?

Mason snorted. “No dying, then.” The male carding his fingers through pinkish locks while the other slowly came back from whatever the hell. Yuhwa flinched at the touch, but otherwise remained still. His light blue hues gradually coming into focus to see Mason and Vaitiare, followed by the gradual crowd.

He flinched. He was sure there would be news of a leader, fearing some stray dog. Great. Another thing people will taunt him for. Although he didn’t care all that much, but it still hurt.

His fingers reached up to curl around Mason’s wrist, tugging to let the other know he was alright. “M’fine.” He mumbled. His tone doing nothing to convenience the two. Mason sighed, dragging a hand through the raven-hued locks.

“Alright. Let’s get you inside before these fuckers get any more photos.” He grumbled. Vaitiare humming in agreement.

Yuhwa was pliable, letting the other pull him up. The three shuffling into the building. He sighed, relishing in the familiar scents he’d grown accustomed to as the clan’s headquarters.

Leaning heavily against Mason, the three made their way into Yuhwa’s office, where he all but collapsed into his chair. His knees tucked close to his chest while the trench coat pooled around his frame. He glanced up through teary hues at the two who stood, unsure of what to do.

Yuhwa offered them a weak-filled grin, so unlike his cheery self. “I’ll … be fine.” He waved a hand that slithered from out of the coat, waving a hand. “I just need a moment, that’s all!” He felt weak. His mind was groggy as ghost pains fluttered across milky white skin, reminding him of his younger self he’d done everything to forget.

I failed that part. He snorted. Some leader I am. He shooed at the two. “Go. Go. Go. I’ll be fine! Promise! Just a minor hiccup! I don’t normally react that bad.” He laughed. His hand rubbing his nab. “That’s embarrassing.” He mumbled.

Mason sighed, watching Yuhwa. “Alright. You better call us if shit gets bad. I’ll fucking stick Keane on your ass if you don’t.” That caused Yuhwa to laugh, nodding.

The pinkette watched the two slip out, allowing him some moment to himself. He shivered, drawing the coat closer to his body with a pitiful whimper. His gaze was glassy with tears. He really wished he had better luck, but it seemed fate liked to watch him squirm and fumble.

He glanced around his desk, scattered with papers that weren’t in untidy piles. His hands reaching out to clasp onto something he’d been working on, ignoring the way his hands shook vigorously. His breath coming in quick gasps, but otherwise he was doing okay.

Mostly.

YOU'RE A TRAGEDY

“Thank you!

Mostly.

AREN'T YOU?

The events of yesterday were a lot less exciting than Asmoday thought they'd be. The meeting was really short, which is unusual. Normally meetings wouldn't be less than one hour, but maybe this time was an exception. He didn't get the chance to go to the restricted zone, since his whole idea was to help Vincent only to find out he had landed in the hospital. He hadn't attended the service for Beezle, but he sent a card to the Serpent's Kiss office. He had checked in with the Bloody Moon citizens, asking if they were all right and offering to help if they needed it with anything. Asmoday liked to think he was a good leader. The other thing he asked the citizens was about things he could do to improve his skills as a leader, because everyone had flaws whether they liked to admit them or not.

The next morning he entered the office with purpose, leaving the door open to his office to allow citizens and others to approach if they needed. The one thing he looked forward to most today is the list of new graduates from the academy. He looked to recruit all the best military personnel from there as soon as the kids graduated. It's part of keeping his military force the best it can be, with veterans to teach the new recruits before they retired. On occasion he sent Carmine to train the newbies. When all the office work was finished, Asmoday would sometimes watch Carmine train the recruits. It was difficult training, as it should be. Other times, Asmoday would talk to the recruits and give them small hints to drastically improve the mistakes they picked up in the academy.

Sofia's Rebirth
Interacting with: JJae JJae
Much to Sofia's pleasure, the night went by without a hitch; deep sleep found her almost instantly and wouldn't release her until the following morning. It was another dreamless night, but a very restful one as the shadows embraced and held her comfortably in her sleep. Slowly but surely, Sofia's eyes fluttered open and the faint hue of daylight peeking through from behind the blinds filled her vision. The dark-haired female's figure stretched and tightened as she yawned to shake off the sleep and tiredness. Once Sofia was awake enough, she slowly sat up and took a deep breath. Here we go. Let's try to have a good first day... Once sleep was shaken off, reality began to set in for Sofia. It hadn't quite dawned on her until that moment that she had been appointed second-in-command for the clan, and with the title came lots of new responsibilities.

Various thoughts and ideas swirled inside of her head to the point where she'd forgotten all about the arrangement Cazendra had made the previous night. A sudden knock at the door pulled Sofia back to reality and jolted her out of her introspection. For a moment, Sofia raised an eyebrow with visible confusion as to who would be calling for her so early. "Miss Archer? Hope I didn't wake you! I'm just here to pick you up for your arranged coffee with Caz!" Sofia couldn't help but chuckle when she heard the goblin's voice through the door. His constantly chirpy attitude immediately lifted her spirits. "Oh thank you so much! I'll be out in a few minutes." Taking a deep breath, Sofia leaped out of her bed and quickly made her sheets before turning around and heading for the bathroom. After a few minutes of freshening up and getting dressed, Sofia strapped her weapons to herself and opened the door to greet Criad with a smile.

"Sorry about that, hopefully I didn't keep you waiting too long... Good morning, by the way!" The shadow demoness took a step forward and made sure to shut the door behind her until the lock clicked and made a beeping sound to indicate that it was fully secure. "Oh not at all, Miss Archer! Good morning to you as well, hopefully you had a good night's rest!" Sofia gave her new friend a nod with a grin. "Call me Sof, by the way." Criad responded with a smile and a short, pensive nod, almost as though he was making a mental note. "Follow me, Sof, we're headed for The Book N Cranny." With a nod, the two started making their way through the corridors and out of the residential building. "Hey, isn't that place a bookstore?" Criad's face lit up a little as he turned to look up at Sofia. "Indeed it is! It also has its own coffee shop, however. Between us, I think Caz invited you to get to know you somewhere special to her. That bookstore was Beezle's favorite!"

Sofia chuckled softly at the comment, making sure to keep that in mind for her meeting with Cazendra. Perhaps this will be more relaxed than I expected. After a few more turns, the entry-way of the bookstore came into view and the pair stopped for a moment. "Thank you so much Criad, for everything. You've been a huge help these past 24 hours." The goblin simply gave Sofia a wink and a smile. "It really is nothing at all, I'm just doing my job. I'll always be here whatever you and Caz may need! Enjoy the coffee!" With that, Sofia nodded and stepped inside of the bookstore and looked around until she found the small, circular tables where coffee was being served. Sofia found herself an empty table and took a seat, getting comfortable as she looked around at the quaint bookstore/cafe she found herself in.
