Fantasy Delta Green ~One Last Night At The Opera~ OOC

Ah, age influences our perception of time then.
Age? No, what your doing influences it. A minute can seem like forever but at the same time, it can seem like a blink of an eye. For example, if your having fun, how fast does a minute go

And... I'm thinking up of what'll happen in my next post. My first few thoughts are... I could start a bar fight... or I could skip the bar fight and talk straight to Grimgutz, the Fire King.

Or I could give up the entire enterprise and head back home to Elysium.

The bar fight is pointless to the plot (even if it is characteristic of Walter to start bar fights), while if I talk to Grimgutz I might gain a potential ally or enemy depending if I play my cards right, and if I head back home to Elysium I can consolidate my political and economic resources in the North...

Or maybe I could scout around Elysium for even more potential allies.

In short, I am trying to chose what move I'll make next.

You do you man, what does Walter wanna do? What's his big plan that you've spent months hyping up?

Walter just wants to shut himself up in a church, pray three times a day, give alms to the poor and become a priest. Nah, just kidding, Walter just wants to have a good time getting wasted.

His original purpose was to be a diplomat to the Fire Kingdom so he could cooperate with them in case of a Northern rebellion against the folks in the Capital and the Crown. Hmm, but he can't just approach an Ork king with that proposal especially if Grimgutz is somewhat allied with the Dark king, Desh...

It'll make things complicated, especially since the Northerners hate those Darkos right above them. They were to first to receive the counter-attack made by the dark kingdom after their crusades failed, and they suffered horribly for it.

I think it would be best if Walter went out of the Fire Kingdom and started laying low while other NPCs do shit for him.

Well, this is where lying comes in~
If you want some support from the fire kingdom talking to grimgutz is the way to go, just don't be dumb about it, don't talk to him about weaknesses in the kingdom, don't tell him how important those troops are, just ask for troops and offer a high reward.

And that means... I'm gonna have to create a whole new load of character sheets for NPCs just so Walter can order them around...

I think Walter is not a single powerful character that can match the authority and raw power that the Royals carry. He will simply be annihilated if he tries to take them head on. The trick to controlling a character such as Walter is to engage in complex schemes, plans that require originality and creativity... those are beyond the comprehension of an ordinary man. He must not just be a step ahead of the kings, the generals, and all the other politicians... he must create a new world for his own if he is to succeed...

There will be consequences if Walter even tries to talk to Grimgutz. No Northerner wants to be associated with the Dark king's army in any way, and that means not even talking with the Dark king's allies. Walter was only sent to assess the situation in the Fire kingdom, and if he found evidence that the Fire Kingdom wasn't really close with the Darkies then he would enter into negotiations with them...

Hmm, this shall take some explaining to do...

We cannot simply ask for troops to attack the Capital. We cannot simply trust the Orks to remain ignorant of these matters. The Capital is too strong and it can repel almost any invasion, and the Orks can barely even penetrate the South. The Orks have information coming from the Dark kingdom, Water kingdom, and the Earth kingdom and Grimgutz is no fool.

Walter takes a big risk coming up to Grimgutz like that.
