He was born with an extremely unique skin condition that discolored and toughened up his body. His mom suffered from leukemia, and she died when he was nine, followed by his father, who committed suicide.
Thus he was adopted by his aunt and uncle who jointly owned a zoo.

Whenever he did something wrong, they'd put him in an animal cage. This later translated to him being caged with animals, when his aunt and uncle were drunk. They would do it during visiting hours as well.
When he was seventeen, a new girl took pity on him and they would talk.

Eventually she helped him run away, and he went to live with her in her small apartment. He would later get a job as a wrestler and a boxer, becoming a champion in both arenas. He earned the name Killer Croc as a title. He later started wearing contact lenses to make his eyes reptilian, filed his teeth into points, and grew his thick nails out and sharpened them.

But then his fiance (a year or so later), was raped and killed by three policemen. He grew so depressed, he found and killed them.

Since then, he'd been running from the law. In his rage and want to kill every law enforcer, his title became more widely known, now in fear. He became a victim, and a villain.
