Fandom Day Breakers

A wash of relief came over Sienna when she realized the pacing steps behind her was, in fact, Ryushi. "I might as well. If I'm gonna play this game, I might as well create a team to beat it with. And to correct your previous statement, I have never played a VRMMORPG before now. I have played MMORPG's, but this is the first time using my VR helmet, aside from once when my friend got one of the first ones. But I'm probably talking too much, huh?" Sienna simply chuckled while listening to him drone on.

"I knew you had some sort of experience. A newbie to gaming wouldn't make that smart of a choice." Sienna said as she floated around on her new wings, which she was so thrilled about. "I'm surprised that you figured everything out so quickly. It took me so long to figure out how to stabilize my stamina and everything," She turned to Ryushi. "And to correct your previous statement, you're not talking too much. It's nice to not be the only trying to make conversation," Sienna completed, looking towards the sky that was now completely dark. Street lamps lined the town, and Sienna thought about how cool this would be in real life. Her wings, this town, the people. It was paradise for her. Approaching the end of the safe zone, she looked over at Ryushi. "Ready to earn some EXP?" she asked, with a charming smile. Gearing up with her beginner sword, she stepped on to the field, readying herself for battle. She was part of a team, a first for Sienna. A sudden screen popped up before her. A friend request. From Ryushi. Accepting the request, she felt a sense of accomplishment. She had stepped out of her comfort zone today, and she had earned a new friend. How lucky.

OOC//: ((retiring for tonight. I'll pick up tomorrow c:)

Ryushi smiled. "Actually, I feel more than ready, and not just to earn experience. To learn and fight. I want to explore this place. But, yeah, let's gain some EXP." He pulled out his sword, which felt much too light in his hand. He remembered the gun that also came with each character, but it was meant solely for if you needed it. Using it would make his reputation in Arcadia plummet, brandishing him as a coward. Still, better to have it handy just in case. He equipped the gun to his left hand, swinging his sword with his right. THIS was comfortable. He walked calmly out of the safe zone, and into the field. Right away his eyes scanned over the area. He saw a lot of seemingly basic monsters, such as skeletons and zombies. He didn't want to run in there without knowing what he was jumping into, so he checked for any other players. He noticed a few players about a half mile away, using a mix of close range combat and magic. One of them used ice magic against a zombie, but the monster seemed unaffected. He quickly noted that as the player was hit. Another player a few feet away from the now slain one cast fire on a skeleton. The flames swept over the bones, not dealing any noticeable damage. The player was similarly slain. Ryushi turned back to Sienna. "Make sure that if we use any form of magic now or in the future, undead skeletons are highly resistant to fire magic or effects, and zombies seem to be resistant to ice. Maybe if one of us manages to use lightening magic, that is the common weakness of these enemies." He turned back to the evergoing landscape. Was what he just said to nerdy? He made a face without realizing, quickly fixing it back to his calm expression. "You ready?" He smiled slightly.

Listening to Ryushi explain avoiding different magic's and using different techniques to defeat monsters, Sienna looked out to the seemingly never ending landscape that was crawling with monsters and players. People took this game seriously, there was no reason to fool around. Treating this like real life is what levels you up, and it's what Sienna planned to do. She turned to Ryushi, just a regular looking human, with dark hair and dark hair. "Yeah, thanks. I'll definitely keep that in mind." Ryushi offered a half-hearted smile

"You ready?" He asked, with a gun in hand, and a sword in the other.

"Course I'm ready. I'm always ready," Sienna said sort of arrogantly, adding a chuckle at the end. With a wide grin, she prepared herself with a fighting stance, and gripped her sword firmly. Her eyes scanned the location, and from the corner of her eye she spotted an NPC monster. It was a zombie. "Okay, a target to the right. We can beat this thing with brains for the meantime, at least until we boost EXP and get better weapons. I'm going in," And Sienna fled toward the zombie, keeping low to the ground and approaching it from behind. Gathering up her strength, she kicked its back, causing it to fall forward on to the ground. Keeping a foot on its back, she put her sword to use and sliced the back of its neck, decapitating it in the process. She watched as the pixels of the zombie began to break up, and dissipated in to the night. She looked back in to her stats screen, and watched the EXP increase. A small smile graced her lips. As she brought down the stats screen, all of a sudden a skeleton as large as her, wrestled her to the ground. "Jesus Christ! Ryushi, get your ass over here!" Sienna yelled as she held her forearm against the skeletons boney neck. It snapped at her, but she managed to keep it far enough away by the neck. "I bet I look really dumb right now." Sienna though. Getting wrestled to the ground by a skeleton isn't necessarily something to be proud of, especially since most of the newbies have at least gotten to level five. "Goddam."

Ryushi had just finished taking the head off two zombies close by. He turned, and saw Sienna being attacked by s skeleton. He scowled, running over and kicking it off of her. It immediately turned to him, trying to tackle him to the ground as well. He blocked each blow with his sword, gritting his teeth. He was now level 2, so he was a bit stronger, but the enemy was still pretty strong. He made a note in his head that the skeletons were harder to kill than the zombies. He held up his sword to stop the skeleton from attacking again, then pushed it hard enough to trip it to the ground. He stuck his sword into the monsters rib cage, leaving it helplessly writhing in the ground, trying to pull the sword free of its torso. Ryushi walked calmly around to the skull of the skeleton, raising his foot and bringing it down on the monsters head, crushing it to bits. The monster's remaining bones digitized to pixels, and he saw the EXP bar raise a significant amount. He walked over to Sienna and offered his hand to her. "I know this is a given, but keep a good eye on everything around you. Skeletons are tougher enemies than zombies, so lets stick with them till we get to about level 4 or 5."

Mako woke with a start, the early morning light filtering through her curtains. She would never get used to this. Her parents had moved her from Japan to Irelend, and in this country it rarely stayed dark for long. She laughed aloud, reaching for VR helmet. It was sort of ironic that the world she played in was mostly dark, but the world she lived in was mostly light. She kept this ironic thought in mind as she logged in as Elizabeth Bladerunner. It was early in Irelend but it was summer and her parnets never let her out of the house, so she games all day. When the plaza came into view she stalked to the edge of the safe zone and watched the other players battle it out with skeletons and zombies. As she stepped out and travelled farther into the field, she passed Sienna and Ryushi who she nodded to. Elizabeth charged, low to the ground, towards a group of zombies just behind them. Sure taking on three opponents as a level two was a dumb idea but she was in a really good mood. She weaved and dodged and took down the first by chopping its head clean off. She even managed to kill the second, but it was the third that got her. It wrapped its decaying arms around her middle and tackled her, snapping at her. "Tch!" Her lip curled as she tried to push it off.

Ryushi killed another zombie, smiling. He was now level four, and had gotten some decent loot. He noticed Elizabeth out of the corner of his eye. She seemed to not really notice them, until she walked by Sienna and him, when she nodded in their direction. He nodded back to her, to be polite, before spinning and decapitating a few more monsters. He kept hacking and slashing, killing a few more until he decided to check on everyone. Elizabeth was lower leveled than them, so he checked on her first. When he saw she was getting attacked, he scowled. The monsters definitely were getting annoying with the tackling. Waving his sword, he ran up and past Elizabeth, slicing the monsters head off and swiftly kicking it off her. When the monster disappeared into a random assortment of pixels, he turned to Elizabeth, pointing his sword. "Zombies aren't affected by ice magic, and skeletons aren't affected by fire. Just thought I should tell you. And skeletons can live when you take apart their limbs. Crush them to destroy them." He ran up to a skeleton and demonstrated, slicing its head off and crunching it with his heel. He turned back to her, smiling. He enjoyed this game. He wasn't going to get hooked on it, but he could play this for a while with these people.

Sienna smiled as Ryushi came to her rescue, reminding her to stay alert, especially around skeletons. "Yeah, yeah," she simply said brushing off the comment. Watching Elizabeth zoom by, she returned a nod and took on two near by enemies, slicing both of their heads off in one movement. Hacking and crushing her enemies, Sienna had easily been promoted to level four in a few minutes, and decided to see where the other two had disappeared to. Once she spotted them a few yards away, not needing backup, she decided to take on some of the skeletons, which she was now able to defeat effortlessly. Crushing and stomping a few in the skull, Sienna earned some EXP, a level up, and some good loot. "I'll go see what they're up to now." Rushing to the other two, she offered a smile. "How are you guys? Any trouble?" She asked, while slaying a zombie to the left of her. "This place is really crawling with NPC monsters, huh?" She looked at the two and offered a wide grin with closed eyes. "We'll defeat that boss in no time!"

Ryushi shrugged. "The monsters don't really scare me. We managed to figure out what they were weak to and all and the easiest way to defeat them. I'm wondering what the boss will be like..." He rubbed the back of his neck. He started to gather up some new loot, and found a cool level 5 katana. It was decently light, so he picked it up to use instead of his newbie sword. He had managed to refrain from using the gun, though it never left his hand through the fighting. "Do you guys want to stay out here for a while more and get some more levels before the boss? Or head back to town to reequip and gather some cool gear from shops?" He would keep his gear as a way of remembering his first day in the game, but he needed something stronger. The durability was going down on it, which would make it useless. "I just think the three of us can defeat him no problem. No reason to rush it. Maybe we can find a player who's fought it before, learn some weaknesses." He smiled slightly, which he assumed looked like he didn't care. He really did care, but he didn't smile often, so he had to get used to it. "Just a suggestion. You two pick."

Sienna nodded. "My Newbie sword is wrecked, so I say we go reequip, and maybe get something to eat? We have to keep physical endurance up, so why go in to a boss fight not feeling a hundred percent? And, like you said, there's no rush." Sienna examined her sword, and frowned at how damaged it was. Newbie swords were terrible, and that was a fact. "Plus, a single sword isn't really my cup of tea. I wanna find some duel swords. Then, we'll be unstoppable." Sienna offered a smile towards Elizabeth who hadn't said a word. "How does that sound, Miss Elizabeth? You too, Mr. Ryushi, does that sound like a good idea?" Sienna definitely valued the opinions of the pair, so she wanted to do what was best for the group, and then seek their approval. Sienna had always been pretty self-deprecating, so getting attention and the approval of other's had always been a boost of her low self-esteem.

Ryushi laughed lightly. "Of course it's a good idea. I thought up the basics." He yawned, then checked his statuses in the menu. He frowned at how his hunger, thirst, and rest were so low. His rest wasn't so bad it needed to be taken care of right away, but he needed food soon, and some water. "I don't know about you two, but I want to see if there is anything that can counter undead enemies. I assume that is what the boss is, since there are so many zombies and skeletons here."

Sienna rolled her eyes. "Of course it's a good idea. I thought up the basics." said Ryushi.

"But I made it better," She whispered, not really caring about his comment.

"I don't know about you two, but I want to see if there is anything that can counter undead enemies. I assume that is what the boss is, since there are so many zombies and skeletons here." Ryushi said. That was a good point.

"Good weapons would probably be able to hold us over for now. But we'll have to plan ahead for future bosses. They might not all have a theme, assuming this boss is undead." Said Sienna as she pulled up her stats window and noticed her hunger and thirst bar. Closing the window, she grabbed Elizabeth's hand. "lets go get something to eat before our characters starve to death," Sienna said as she walked back in to the safe zone, hand in hand with Elizabeth. Walking in to a nearby tavern, she sat Elizabeth and herself down at the bar. "Three orders of Dango please. Also, could we get a couple of waters too?" Dango would get their hunger back to at least 75%, if not more. It was pricey, but they had already earned a lot of loot. Why not spend a little? The bartender nodded, a brought out three plates with several pieces of Dango on each, and three jugs of water. "Thank you sir," Sienna said, and paid what was owed for the food. Biting in to a piece of Dango, Sienna said, "So off to weapon shopping after this?"

Ryushi took slow bites, thinking. He thought he heard Sienna, so he looked up from his meal. "What? Oh, yeah. And I agree for planning in the future. I want to see if they have any good armor. My new katana can hold me over for now." He heard someone yelling for him, but not in the game. He shrugged as he opened his menu. "Be right back." He logged out of the virtual world.

Kusastu opened his eyes, and saw his mom standing by the door. "You having fun with that new game?" Kusastu nodded. "
Yeah. Tons. Whatcha need?" He leaned on his elbows on his bed. His room was really plain; white walls, white ceiling, single black desk, bed. The only thing that stood out was the red curtains for his window. "Nothing. Just came by to give you this." She handed him a plastic card. He inspected it, and saw it was a code for the game. Puzzled, he read the front, where it said it gave him a bonus 10,000 gold and a random item. He smiled. "Thanks, Mom. How did you know I got this game?" His mother shrugged. "I saw the game next to your bed. I ran out to see if I could find anything for it." Kusastu got up and hugged her. "Thanks again." He decided to put the code in now, and then get back to the game.

After entering it, he popped back into the game, no more than a few minutes after he had left. Ryushi looked around at the two girls. "
Sorry. My parents needed me for something." He started to eat again, thinking of the upcoming boss. What if it wasn't undead, but a necromancer? It was a possibility.

(Gomen, laptop died)

Elizabeth stayed quiet through the whole conversation, to busy trying to figure out a way to repay these two. If they kept saving her, she would be seriously indebted to them. She stiffened when Sienna took her hand and dragged her to a café where she ordered dango for her. They conversed about weapon shopping and she checked on her sword. It was completely ruined, as she had suspected so she opened her mouth and spoke out softly. "Do you mind if I go too?" She hadn't touched her dango, as to her it looked kind of unappealing. She still hadn't gotten used to in-game eating. She observed the pair through her bangs, and opening her menu sent a friend request to each of them.

Ryushi accepted the friend request, then turned to her. "Why would you ask? We brought...well, Sienna dragged you with us so we can work together, I assume. You can join us. For sure." He opened his inventory, and sure enough, there was gift there for him. He decided to open it later. He didn't need it yet, so maybe the power of the item scaled with his level. He hoped. He devoured the rest of his Dango, then drank some water. He checked his status, and saw that his hunger was full, and his thirst was for the most part quenched. He stood up, pushing the chair in, a habit that his parents made him learn. "I'll wait outside for you two." He walked out and leaned on the wall right next to the doorway. He browsed through his recent loot, checking prices and effects of each. Most of it was weapons, but he had found some armor, so he seperated them and sorted them neatly.

XJune woke up early and immediately logged on to Day Breakers. He was dropped into the game and became Kioshi.

"Gissa vem som är tillbaka." He said to himself. "Now where was I?" He set a marker on his mini-map for a custom blacksmith and started to make his way there.

Ryun smiles as he wakes to with a little yawn, he quickly brings up the friends list and notices that kioshi was online. And with a small smile he heads to the cafe that Ryun told kioshi about yesterday. And shoots him a quickly message "we need to talk please come here" he sends it off. And he turns and heads down to the little shop in the back of the inn. He picks up and buys a fairly expensive robe. Spending over half his money on it and he quickly equips it using it to hide his face name and level. He walks towards the cafe his orange marker still there. Still chasing off all the NPC 'sh*t I gotta get ride of this' he thinks to himself as he walks into the cafe and heads to the far back of it, taking out a small hunk of raw boar chewing on it.

Half way to the custom blacksmiths shop, Kioshi gets a message from the player from before. "Aw it's that kid again..." He looked at the message and looked back at his map, "I'm already half way there..." Kioshi thought for a moment, then chuckled, "whoa we're half way there. Whoa! Livin' on a prayer!" He sung out loud to himself. He responded to to player, "hey, I'm really sorry by I'll be out of town for a while. I'm going to a custom blacksmiths, and I was going to do some quests while I was already out there. We can play together when I get back!" Kioshi sent the message and made hosed invisible on the map to other players. "He a nice kid...but I hate people..." Kioshi sighed at his lack of friends. H ontinue on his journey whistling Living on a prayer by Bon Jovi.

Ryun reads and message and growls he stands up and storms out of the cafe and sends back "thanks man. Great to know you're here for me" and with an angry flick he sends the message. He brings back down his state. 'Half way to level six.' He thinks to himself as he looks at his hunger/thirst bar. 'Awww crap' He turns towards a local blacksmith heading inside he quickly asks the blacksmith how much would he need to make him dual katanas of level 10. To his surprise the black smith replayed with "two skeleton ribs a zombie eye. And 2000 gold" the up side to that. He had close to a 1000 gold but the eye and rib were rare mob drops. "Guess I'm going hunting" he says aloud as he heads towards the fields

Kioshi reads the message. "Yeah, cool. Sorry that I don't even know the kid...? No, I'm done being sorry." Kioshi says. He doesn't reply to the message and continues on his journey. "15 kilometers left to go." He says to himself. While walking, Kkioshi explores the start menu to keep himself occupied.

Sienna continued eating after Ryushi returned, not minding that he had left. A small voice had sounded a little while after Ryushi had returned while Sienna was devouring the rest of the Dango. "Do you mind if I go too?" It said, ever so quietly. It was Elizabeth.

"Why would you ask? We brought...well, Sienna dragged you with us so we can work together, I assume. You can join us. For sure." Ryushi said to her. Sienna nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, Miss Elizabeth, we're a team now. We're all in this together, whether you like it or not." Sienna chugged down the rest of her water, quenching her thirst for the meantime. Accepting the friend request Elizabeth sent, Sienna stood up. Looking over at Elizabeth's plate, Sienna noticed the untouched Dango sitting there. She frowned. "Hm. I thought you would've like Dango." She shrugged, putting the Dango in to her items list. "I'll take it if we need it later." Sienna said, and wiped her mouth with her sleeve. Walking out the door, she saw Ryushi sorting his items. "You're so very welcome for that expensive Dango Ryu-san- er- Mr. Ryushi," Sienna said with a flustered expression. She was used to adding san, chan, or kun to the end of people's names, but she realized that people from all over the world play these games. Not just Japanese people. She cleared her throat and looked at the ground, a little embarrassed. "Anyway," she said, changing the subject. "I'm gonna find some dual swords." Turning on her heel, she went in to a near by weaponry store and browsed different weapons for different levels.

Ryuu Heads out into the fields walking with purpose as he walks towards a nearby cave, 'perfect' He walks into the cave drawing his sword in both hands slicing through several zombies his body faster and stronger than before, He quickly slms his fist into the zombies face as he hauls his eye out and cuts him across the waist leaving it alive. He pockets the eye, and continue slicing though zombie as he goes deeper looking for skeleton, Than not long after a skeleton appears and with a firm kick to the chest knocks him over and decapitates him, his head rolls away, without crushing its head itll stay alive, He turns towards the entrance and strolls back out and starts running back towards the town cutting through a zombie that had got in the way

Ryushi looked up at Sienna, surprised she had used the suffix '-san' at the end of his name. Usually he was just called Kusastu in school. He laughed. He followed her in, starting to browse all the various weapons that were taking space on the walls of the shop. He picked up a light sword, giving it a few practice swings. It was a level seven item, so he wasn't too far off until he could use it. He walked to the shop owner and bought it. It wasn't very cheap, but from the code and the hunting, he had gotten a decent amount to have left over. He turned to Sienna. "So. I'm just gonna make a few guesses. First, you are either a die hard Japanese anime and manga fan, or you are from Japan. Either way, its fine. I've never been called Ryu-san before." 'Or Kusastu-san. Or anything.' "So, which one of my theories are correct?" He started to examine various types of lances and spears. He wasn't very interested in buying one, but they still peaked his interest. Spears meant for jabbing and tossing, lances used for jabbing and a bit of slicing. There was one that had an amazing blue hue to it, and a pearl-white head on it, but it was much too expensive for him. If he could afford it, he would be able to trade it for better loot. "Cool..." He stared at it, waiting for Sienna's answer.

"So. I'm just gonna make a few guesses. First, you are either a die hard Japanese anime and manga fan, or you are from Japan. Either way, its fine. I've never been called Ryu-San before," Ryushi said as he turned to Sienna. "So, which one of my theories are correct?" Ryushi's words rung in her ears, and Sienna felt a pang of embarrassment. She chuckled.

"Ah-- both. I'm Japanese, and an otaku. I won't deny either," She said as she picked up a pair of swords, and took a few practice swings, out of the way of Ryushi. "But I forget that different ethnicities play on here too." Clutching the pair of swords firmly, she decided upon purchasing them. Bringing them to the counter, she paid for the level seven items and put them in to her items list. "So what about you? Where are you from?" Sienna asked while crossing her arms.

Ryushi ran his hand over the lance, then turned to Sienna. "I'm Japanese, actually. Not an otaku, though. I once babysat my neighbors daughter, and she tried to force me to watch anime with her. Wasn't really my thing. I watch American shows. Like Law and Order." He remembered his dad watching the show, and was immediately interested in the language and more-so the show. His dad was a detective, so he wanted to be like him, and solve crimes. He walked to the other side of the store, well out of Sienna's range of cutting abilities. "My parents want me to go to universities in Europe or America, though, so maybe after college I can try to join the police force." He laughed as he picked up a few throwing knifes. "I'm rambling again. Sorry. I tend to do that when I talk about stuff." He tossed the knife towards a beam near the door, missing the center by a few inches. He frowned.

Sienna laughed and applauded his throwing abilities. "No it's not a problem. I kinda like it. It gives you a chance to talk about yourself," Sienna said as she leaned against a window sill. "And as for everything else, I always thought it would be cool to go to America. Learn the culture, which seems to be very diverse, by the way. But there's something about Japan that I'm grateful for. Our little customs and rituals. It all seems so unique compared to everyone else's." She looked at the lit up streets. It began to drizzle slightly. Little pixels mimicking water. How strange. While still looking out the window, Sienna spoke more personally. "Back home, everyone calls me Taka-chan. It's because I'm little, and 'kawaii'." She said with a giggle. "But truth be told, I'm just an awkward gamer girl no one takes seriously." Sienna sighed. "Now I'm rambling. Sorry, I guess I tend to do it too." Sienna turned to Ryushi. "I didn't mean to," Her cheeks pecked a pink color, so she slowly dropped her head to look at the ground.
