"All your Siren clones have the potential to be. Usually, however, their insides are not. In this case, what's inside her is what's inside you," Akashi simplifies, "it's very unusual, nya, worth looking into. In fact, it's so unusual, I would hestitate to call her a Siren at this point, nya. She's a... she's a..."

"Yuchino, get down before you do anything stupid!"

Yuchino's actions caused one of the machines to activate. First, a ray struck Tom & Jerry, and while their physical appearance had little to no difference, their psychologies were altered, causing them to be compelled to be the best of friends, which is ironic.


Next, Hikaru & Katsuo were struck, and their appearances were altered significantly. But, who was who? Presumably, their personalities would change accordingly, as it did with Tom and Jerry. The rays struck others as well. Whatever change it would bring to the outside, it would bring to the inside too!

Tohka's hair would turn a full-fledged white as she (SPOILER) (SPOILER) (SPOILER) (SPOILER) (SPOILER).

Saber became a dude. I thought it was funny.

Yuchino would be altered into herself from a reality populated by beasts.

"AAAAHHHH!!!! THE MACHINE TURNED AYANAMI INTO A POTATO!!!!"

Yuchino has done a terrible thing that she will regret for the rest of her life.

Nah I'm just screwing with you but you can't deny that this is pretty close.

"Oh! Commander? Is there something on Ayanami's face?"

"It is nothing," a mysterious hooded man appears, speaking in a synthesized voice. "just know that I will always see you for your inner beauty, Ayanami."

"You're honeying Ayanami like that and leaving none for me! Commander, why don't you ever kiss me~," a mysterious person with a very obvious 'Kriegsmarines' on her hat says to the hooded man, pouting.

"Because you have shown constant displeasure in pursuing romantic direction of any kind. Also I'm a doctor now."

"A quick smooch, right here, right now~?" She continues to flirt with him, pointing to her cheek.

"Not in public, Nimi. Also I am unsure of where my mouth is."

"Pleeeeaaaase~."

"You know I have to take into account what kind of hell you will give me once we're done with this, right?"

"Why am I a dude right now?" An old man questions, before turning to look at Yuchino before preparing to help her down. "No matter. Yuchino. You have seen the consequences of your actions. This is enough of a sign that you should stop soon. I want to make sure everyone here is happy, but your actions have caused confusion and distraught. In times like these, you ought to apologize."

Two more people who seem to have replaced some others in the room comment.

"Our Admiral truly is admirable in times like these, is he not, Laffey?"
"He's always had the strength and power an Admiral needs, Javelin! The strength I expect from every man and woman who partakes in the art of battle and leads!"

"EVERYBODY CALM DOWN!"

Another new person pops by.

"I built that with the intention of changing Kaga into a Battleship. It alters your form to a form you assume in a different dimension. I'm working on principle that there's a world where Kaga stayed a Battleship."

"Is that neccessary- uh, who were you again?"

"Akashi."

"Oh. I think you gained a good half metre there. Anyways, is that neccessary? I mean, we have a lot of BBs in the fleet these days."

"It's always good to be prepared for any situation. Anyways, we better get the lady off before-"

Even more rays struck - they struck everyone who had yet to be struck!

"- more damage is done."

"Admiral, Ayanami is a bit scared," 'Ayanami' clung to the hooded man's shoulder.

"Commander~ Zerstorer 23 is a bit scared too~" 'Z23' did the same with the hooded man's other shoulder, pressing his arm against her chest, briefly peeking and facing Ayanami with a wicked grin.

"Ahaha! You all look ridiculous! I wouldn't mind sitting here for a bit longer if I get to watch your next circus act!" Mysterious Heroine X mocks, "I don't have to sing - you're the entertainers now!"

Another stray ray turned the machine that bound Mysterious Heroine X into a wooden construct. She uses this opportunity to break it with her bare hands.

"I'm freeeee!"

"I did not know it could do that."

"My my," 'Javelin' asks, "should we not turn ourselves back to normal before continuing?"

"On the other hand, we would like the information you intended to give us ASAP," the hooded man, 'Doctor' adds. "What do you all think?"

Yuchino squeaked and flailed around as the beams struck all around the room, but even one as fickle as herself couldn't last for very long. "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" As the beam transmogrified her, she felt her skin become warm and fluffy, and her ears stretching out, while her eyes and nose squished close together. She developed whiskers, but lost her thumbs as her fingers slowly drew back into paw-like digits. Off with her dress, on with a red bandana around her neck. Her eyes became rose-colored, while her new off-white coat gained patches the color of brown sugar.

When she could move again, Yuchino wasted no time in seeing what was done to her. When she looked at her reflection in the machine, she saw that she was now an adorable bunny rabbit! (Hamster somehow included)


And it wasn't just her species that changed; She suddenly felt braver, more carefree. "Ah, it appears that our bodies have rapidly changed in shape! This brings worlds of new potential. Come, Pookybear! In this form, we can find our parents with rabbit speed!"

[Gundam Watcher 27]

Saber would reopen his eyes to find himself as his Prototype incarnation, and would look towards the others with a surprised look.

"What the hell just happened?! This is really strange! "

Tohka was silent for a moment, before she looked around the room, and immediately transformed into her battle form without warning, summoning a corrupted version of her sword before swinging it and causing the entire room to be enveloped in a huge explosion.

"It is as Akashi says," the Doctor responds to Saber's words, "we are- oh you've got to me kidding me."

The Doctor, interrupted, watched Tohka's explosion grow.

"Yuchino look out!" Uncle Commander quickly grabs the animal and her/his animal compatriot, jumping out of the explision's range, before said explosion started to wobble and shrink.

"I guess it really is good to be always prepared for situations like this," a new character appears, holding a remote of some kind in her hand.

"Quick thinking, Yuubari!" Akashi exclaims, shaking away the soot as a result of getting caught in the blast as she shows clear embarassment, "if only you were sooner..."

"In my years working with you, it's only natural that I pick up on stuff like this. I stopped it before it could do too much damage."

The Doctor briefly looks left and right ever-so-slightly at the presence of the duo's clothing damage.

"Commander~" 'Z23' hummed, "you're looking at other women, aren't you~."

"Uuuuuhhhh... I uh...."

"You're going to make me jealous, you know that~."

"Mein gott. This really is insane," he then turns to Trey, "you want to be my straight man until this is done? I pay in Lungmen Dollars."

"My!" Javelin exclaims, pointing her Javelin to something. "I believe it caused just the right- or rather- wrong amount of damage."

The Doctor looks. Among the damaged machines, one of them was the very thing that made them look all funny. It was also the one thing that could turn them back.

"No. No. NOOOO!!! This really is the worst. Well, there's nothing I can do with this spilt milk but wipe it up, except wiping up spilt milk and buying new milk takes about 30 minutes tops, which is way too little time to fix this. Yuubari and I will get to fixing it, and with me trying to get used to having a good half-metre stacked to me - it's gonna take longer than the expected time."

"It appears that the scenario has been chosen for us. Is it alright to hear the plan you proposed for us before you fix the machine that fixes us, Akashi?"

"As you wish, Admiral," Akashi prepares herself, "I'll explain the plan to get everyone home ASAP. As in, the explanation is ASAP. Can everyone lend me your ears? I kind of lost mine.

"They're nearer to your eardrums."

"Oh, is that so?" Akashi feels her newfound human ears, "that's a bit convenient."

The two Commanders (or Doctor and Uncle Commander), the latter still with the altered Yuchino by his hand, walk up to 'Akashi' and 'Yuubari', placing their overcoats over their damaged clothes.

"There there, you'll be warm. Nyeehegood girls."

"Mein Gott. Who thought of this feature? And why don't we have it?"

"Admiral...." 'Akashi' appeared furious, before she grinned, "now you're thinking like me! Profits profiDECENCY!"

"No...I...I am not...Yuchino...?..." Yuchino seemed to be having new memories overlap her original ones, and, while not resisting, seemed to be unable to mix them well. "Yes, of course! I am Little Smartypaw! And this is my faithful compatriot, Pookybear!" She held the hamster high into the air.

"Now, how about that plan to get home?" Smartypaw sat in front of Akashi with both ears forward. "I was planning to just grab my quill and continue on the trail, but if you have a way to get me straight back to Jamaa-I mean, Erinn-No, I clearly meant Jamaa..."

The Devil

"Huh..."

The Devil looks at his new self... It seems that the machine had also turned him into his alternate self. Perfect isn't enough to describe The Devil's new form. He's angelic.

"Well... This is an interesting development."

The Devil spreads his heavenly wings wide. He's thinking of something... "Am I... Redeemed?"

The Devil flies away, heading somewhere... Important.​

The Devil

"Hmm..."

The Devil is back immediately. Where did he even go?

"False alarm, I suppose, hahah...", The Devil says.

His laugh had pain in it... Perhaps even anger and disappointment. The Devil's wings folded and shrunk, and now, cannot be seen.

"What did I even expect?", he hisses.​

 

[Crow]

"Yu- Smartypaw, should you not apologize for what you have done?" Uncle Commander adds.

"Admiral," 'Ayanami' utters, "should we really just let him leave be?"

She points towards the newly-formed heavenly Devil.

"We should- oh nevermind, he's back," the 'Doctor' says, watching The Devil return. "Where'd you go, big guy? Get ice cream?"

"This is what happens when you touch things. When I say don't touch anything, I mean don't touch anything," 'Akashi' glares down towards Smartypaw, before continuing. "Anyways, everyone, I'll start explaining."

A large screen that was before all displayed images to accompany the explanations.

"For starters, we'll need materials if we're ever going to build a transit- traditional-"

"Transdimensional teleporter."

"Thank you Admiral. But yes, the materials we will require are of Siren origin, so we will need to face Sirens in battle for to obtain this. What we might need could be lying in the middle of a Mirror Sea - run by the top Siren."

"Understood, though, don't we have a means to tap into transdimensional forces? We could use that as a basis."

"Oh right, the thing that just got busted. Even with blueprints, I'm not sure if I can repair anything that advanced in such a short amount of time."

"Were you not the one who built it, Akashi?" 'Javelin' asks.

"True, but the me who built this was this tall and had ears over here. Believe it or not, I think I'm actually forgetting that computers even exist," 'Akashi' explains, "I was originally going to pridefully announce that with my super-genius mind that I no longer have, this was going to be super-easy, but with my knowledge on Siren tech leaking like I have a hole in my head, I'm afraid that you all might be stuck here forever and in the forms we're currently in if we don't act fast. Yuubari's my sole backup in scenarios like this in terms of a brain and the hands of an engineer, and she's in the exact same situation as I am, so yes, you're all pretty screwed."

"Did I hear you giving up, Akashi?" 'Laffey' walks forward.

"No, you didn't."

"That's the spirit! The real Akashi would never give up! What defines Akashi isn't her brilliant ideas, but the persistence to execute them!"

"And what defines Laffey is her constant need to sleep on the job, and you, on the other hand, look like you're on an infinite battery...

... anyways, I've already located a Mirror Sea. That's where Sirens hide out. We'll sink the main ship and reel it to our shores to reverse-engineer its components to fix the broken machine to turn us back first. I lost quite a bit of brain power, but I'll try to fix something up based on my blueprints - better slim chance than no chance, I guess, I guess. That's the more urgent matter right now.

Who's up for the task?"

"In this state? With these new bodies? Involving citizens?" the 'Doctor' questions.

"Yes, with these new bodies~," 'Z23' says, trailing a finger down the Doctor's chest, "we're more than able to battle with them, you know, Commander~?"

"Nimi is correct!" 'Laffey' exclaims, "we're still Destroyers and we're still shipgirls! Nothing's changed in the grand scheme, so we can still do this!"

"It might be true for you four that your tactics remain the same, but how about Saber's newfound dual-wield style, for instance? Or uh... that guy, who is probably in purgatory? Wait, scratch that, he is in purgatory."

Mysterious Heroine X, a few seconds away from striking Saber, quickly hid her sword and declared, "I want to help! But in return, I request freedom!"

"Apologize for what?" Smartypaw bounced up and down. "I feel two hundred times braver now! And with my small size, I am twice as mobile! Though I..." She slowly stared around at everyone. "...I don't know what benefits the rest of you get from your new forms." She gnawed on her bottom lip, her ears drooping. "Heheh, whoops...curiosity has killed quite a few cats...Sorry..." She grinned nervously.

"So you want the components for that machine, so you can go back to normal? Easy! I can be slipped aboard the ship, then all I need is to chew up a couple things. Then I gather what you need, you fix the machine, and you change back! As for me, well...I wouldn't mind staying 'screwed'." She smiled, nuzzling Pookybear.

"You say that right now, but are you sure there's no Yuchino in there who wants to stay Yuchino? No one in there fighting?" Uncle Commander places a hand on Smartypaw's shoulder. "Nevermind that, if that's your decision... but if you change your mind, do tell us. There's still a bit of time to rethink this."

"Your ideas sound valid on paper, but we're dealing with Sirens here. You need to be very careful if you're insistent on doing this," the 'Doctor' says to Smartypaw. "You're not as durable as a KAN-SEN, so one wrong move in their playing field and... well... to put it simply, you'll be dinner for the Sirens."

"We are after a specific device. Pretty big," 'Akashi' shows Smartypaw a photo of a device that seemed to be a circular gateway of some kind, spanning a good 5 metres in height according to written measurements, "I highly doubt you alone could just carry something like this. Its weight could made a grand piano feel like a feather."

"Well..." Smartypaw looked down at her feet. "It would be a pretty big blow to my parents if I was separated from them as a Miletan, but then came back to them as a rabbit. But then again, they definitely won't let a Miletan in Jamaa." Indeed, Smartypaw was stuck with a paw in each world. She could visualize both the people she'd left behind in Erinn, and the animal friends she was missing in Jamaa.

"Oh, if it's too dangerous to try that...Hm...How can a rabbit sink a ship full of Sirens...I know! What if me made a big fog, and then got the Sirens to crash into a rock?" As she studied the photo, she tacked on, "And we sent spies in to prepare floating devices for that thing?"

"Sirens are too sharp for something as wide as a fog. They're much greater decievers than the fleet, so it will be difficult to fool them with such a strategy alone," the 'Doctor' adds.

"Well, truth be told, that option where you actually go onto their ship would be much less dangerous if you had a means to protect yourself," Akashi says as she takes out a wrist device and turns it on, creating a transparent, spherical barrier with hexagonal patterns on it.

"It works for ten seconds, cools down after five. Activate it when you're being shot at by Siren bullets. It can only partially negate heavier attacks like their torpedoes, but since those attacks are slower, you should prioritize in evading them," Akashi explains, "for anyone else who wants to sneak in - I've got-"

"Oh, me! Me!" Mysterious Heroine X repeatedly jumps up and raises her hands. "I will do things the way a real Saber-class Servant like myself does - charge in and strike bravely!"

"MHX- can I call you MHX? This is a stealth mission. You would detriment us very much if you went in with your usual tactics."

"Yeah, what he said. Can you, just for this time, believe that you're one with the wind? Believe that you're an undetectable force? Conceal your presence? You want to strike fear in the hearts of your enemies, don't you? People fear what they can't see more than what they can," Akashi suggests.

"I am unsure, but your suggestion sounds worthy! I will try it out, even if just this once!" Mysterious Heroine X declares, then squints her eyes suspiciously. "Wait, that sounds awfully... Assassin-like. And I'm not an Assassin... for I am a Saber!"

"No! No! It's very Saber-like!" 'Akashi' declares as she briefly turned to the 'Doctor' and Saber, winking.

"It is common practice for heroes of the past, the present and even the future to use any tactics they can dish out to survive - for themselves and for others," the 'Doctor' suggests, "the Sirens have been looming over humanity for eons. Are you going to let them get you?"

It has begun.

Everyone was now at the docks, ready to set off. Perhaps there were some who wished to stay behind.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the deeper you get into this, the stronger the Sirens you face will be. Akashi has previously built these devices for your soles - for that other time we needed to use them. They allow you to skid across the water like a shipgirl, to oversimplify it. If you find yourself sinking, just kick them together and you'll float back up, as long as no one's deliberating pushing you down. I believe those of you who can fly will not require this."

The devices - greyish metal and red like a ship's hull - adapted themselves to the soles of the user's shoes.

"Commander~ there you are, my beloved-"

As the 'Doctor' covers Taihou's mouth, he introduces, "this is Taihou. She's one of the few people who can actually tell I'm... well... me, not counting you all who were right there to see it."

"The same applies to me. I cannot call Bataan or Unicorn to the mission because they do not recognise my authority," Uncle Commander adds, "in other words - our options in manpower are very limited."

"In any case, we require an Aircraft Carrier in this mission. Remember - the basis of the plan is that Mysterious Heroine X and Yuchi- I mean, Smartpaw will prepare to board one of Taihou's planes once I give the signal, while the rest of you continue to fend off the Siren armada.

Also, please remember to tune in to the communicators I have given you at all times."

"Logically," the man that was once Katsuo said as he took out a USB drive.

CYCLONE.

"How strange, I have an impulse to use this instead of the Heat Memory."

"Right back at you," the man who was once Hikaru, noted by the fedora on his hat, spoke.

JOKER.

"Figures."

"HENSHIN!"

The dynamic duo slotted their USB-like devices into the strange belts around their waists.

CYCLONE JOKER!

"I think it's about time for someone to... count up their-"

The two stopped to see the one who was once Katsuo lie on the floor, all while the left eye blinked lights.

"Strange, that is very different from how things usually are. In fact, I am very different."

"You can count on me to watch over the green one's body," the 'Doctor' says.

During this, the briefing and interactions were interrupted by someone raising Smartpaw in the air.

"Wow! She's so lovely... I want to take her home~!"

"B- Bailey? What are you doing here?" 'Laffey' expresses shock.

"Who are you?" Bailey asks.

"I'm your big sister!"

"I have a new big sister? Which one? Mayo? Madison? Hillary P. Jones?"

"It's me, Laffey!"

"Oh, I see~! You're the other Laffey! You're not my big sister, silly, you're Cooper's big sister," Bailey says, putting Smartpaw down, "I'll tell Cooper that you're here when I see her! And tell us if you see the other Laffey, and Javelin! Jupiter and I have been looking for our sisters a while."

"We will."
"We will."

Right behind her was the familiar face of Jupiter.

"Javelin? Where are you?"

Jupiter turns to face Smartpaw.

"Is that..."

"Jupiter, let's hurry!"

"Alright... I'm coming... Huh... I must be really seeing things to even think that, it's way too obvious that that's not her..." Jupiter turned away.

Bailey and Jupiter left as quickly as they came, leaving 'Laffey' and 'Javelin' rather saddened. Uncle Commander patted both of them on the head.

"Fret not. Your worries will be done once we've fixed this."


Our crew set forth.

The squad skidded through the oceans, defying logic itself as they found their feet above the water. As they continued on, they entered a strange, altered sea with a different-looking sky that shifted between red and purple, with the seas serving as a choppy, waver mirror to reflect that hue.

"I'm not going to fail anything my beloved Commander gives me, so cooperate with me, alright~?" Taihou's grin was intimidating as it was directed towards Smartpaw and MHX.

"Y- y- GOT IT!"

Even Mysterious Heroine X, who exercised so much Bravado, expressed fear in her tone.

"Identifying - Chaser, Scavenger, Navigator, corresponds to hull-types Destroyer, Light Cruiser and Heavy Cruiser respectively. Destroyers are the fastest with the lowest defenses and the lowest damage per second, but their speeds are incredible. Heavy Cruisers have great defenses and greater power, albeit the slowest solely among the three Siren types you see before you. Light Cruisers are inbetweeners."

Right now, however, our cast was being attacked by a good armada of what one would assume were the Sirens. These were clearly mass-produced mooks, a contrast to how every girl back at the Port Academy had her own unique look. Behind these humanoids were an entire fleet of ships, all made from black metal with red outlines, coming out of a sci-fi movie.

The generals leading these Sirens would be familiar in shape. The first was a small Siren, as scantily-clad as the rest, grinning heavily in a manner not too different from the Chesire Cat as she piloted a strange alien contraption that was the exact shape as Tantalum from the inside. She was clearly visible from behind the glass pane that would've stored Tantalum's lights. Tantalum would find her familiar - from that dream he had.

The second general was the exact shape as Domon Kasshu's God Gundam. Thus, it could be dubbed a Demon God Gundam - a Mashin Gundam. Wait, is that taken? It isn't, right?

"I fear that I cannot identify these entirely new Siren types. It appears that they were originally doppelgengars, but have become a class of their own," the 'Doctor' speaks through the comms.

Among those who stayed behind, the Devil was one of them. As he sat around, he was approached by someone.

"I don't believe I've been informed that an angel was one of our guests. What is your name?"

The ray that had hit Kaladin has turned him into "the wretch", a version of himself that is depressed to the point of nihilism. As for physical changes in this state, he had a beard, his blue Stormlight-fueled eyes had returned to their original dark brown, and he found himself back in his bridgeman's uniform (quite literally just a sleeveless vest, torn pants, and a pair of worn sandals).



When the Sirens approached, Kaladin instinctively attempted to form Syl into a Shardblade only for his attempts to completely and utterly fail. "Syl?" he asked quietly, "What is going on? Why aren't you changing into a Shardblade? Oh, storms! Is it because the bond has failed? Have I killed you again? Oh, storms!"

Syl changed from a leaf above his head into her young woman form and tapped him on the nose saying, "Don't be silly Kal, you're clearly using a lashing to keep yourself from falling. Clearly whatever that ray of light was has just caused the bond to regress to a point before you spoke the Third Ideal of the Windrunners."

Kaladin let out a sigh of relief, nodding in response and spoke thus, "I will protect even those I hate, so long as it is right." At that moment Syl turned to mist, which was suddenly visible to everyone, before coalescing into the shape of a spear. At the same time, his eyes returned to blue and he started to hold himself straighter than he had the last few hours. Kaladin then pointed the Sylspear at the Sirens and prepared for a fight.

Woohoo, the team was setting out! Smartypaw galloped to the docks with Pookybear on her back. The special soles were very sticky for her bare paws, but just looking down at them was speeding up her heartbeat! "Me? A plane ride?" The bunny tilted her head. "What's a plane, exactly? I don't remember there being planes in Jamaa, or Erinn." She jabbered as she fastened her communicator to her bandana. "Well, all i need to do is see one to find out. Let's get mo-WOAAAAH!"

Another shipgirl scooped her up, much to her annoyance. "Hey! Cuddles come later!" She kicked and struggled, but she was only freed from the embrace when the shipgirl wanted her to. Behind this young redhead was Jupiter! "Hey! Jupiter!" Smartypaw waved, only for Jupiter to stomp on her heart. "W-wait, Jupiter! It IS me!" Unfortunately, there was no time to clear it all up.

The next thing Smartypaw and Pookybear knew, they were being attacked by Sirens! "Woah! Those are no mere Phantoms!" She exclaimed, diving underwater for stones to chuck at them.

As Smartypaw and Pookybear would dive deep for rocks, they would see-

A whole group of Sirens, easily told from their matching aesthetics to the ones on the surface. They rose from the depths and were speeding towards their surface, their torpedoes charging and preparing to fire. The dynamic duo was the first and currently the only ones to see this.

Additionally, the waters weren't exactly shallow per say, so the closest rocks she would be able to find would be pretty deep if she decided to trudge on.

Kaladin would cut through some of the weaker Sirens during the fight, their lights flickering out and black, viscous 'blood' leaking from where they were cut as they fell. These were but lowly mooks, as evidenced by the Mashin Gundam unleashing a powerful fist onto the waters, creating a shockwave that knocked everyone, including him, off balance.

As of this instance, the cast was caught in the middle of a relentless bullet hell as energy bullets were tossed all over the place by the Sirens. Mashin Gundam, however, preferred more melee mannerism for its palate, and thus proceeded to use this flinching opportunity to toss a powerful, burning punch in the direction of Kaladin!

It was during this time of peril that a large alien vessel seemed to materialize from the sky as another Siren - this one evidently different - descended from it.

"Azur Lane, did you bring new friends to play with?"

The 'Doctor' spoke through the comms once more.

"That is Purifier, a unique Siren class equated to the Battleship hull-type. She is considerably powerful, so approach with caution. Based on various factors, I need you to sever her arm. The Infiltration team will need to carry this arm around with them until I say they do not require it anymore. Afterwards, you are free to organize your attacks in the most desirable and efficient manner."

"Ayanami will do her be- huh? Ayanami's sword... where is it?"

"Sorry Ayanami. You'll need to fully rely on ranged tactics for the time being," the 'Doctor' says, "the alteration has caused you to lose your melee ability."

"Javelin," Uncle Commander adds through the comms, "you and Kaladin are the only ones with ranged blades, as far as we know. It seems that you two are our best bets, unless..."

Uncle Commander directs his words towards Tom and Jerry.

"Do you two think you could be dears and aid them?"

"Understood, Commander~" 'Javelin' declares.

"I'll distract! My self-imposed limiter is always released! Ayanami, join me!" 'Laffey' declares as she and 'Ayanami' fire away at the newly-arrived Purifier.

"Your newbies certainly are rude ones, Azur Lane, but I'll show them a fun time, nonetheless~."

Purifier, mocking the cast, summoned floating turrets from her glorious hammerheaded mechanical steed, these turrets shooting in every direction possible! They weren't the strongest of bullets, but they were certainly everywhere!

Domon Kasshu

The hotheaded gundam pilot, Domon Kasshu growled once he saw his dark clone trying to lead against him and the others in a fight.

"NOBODY COPIES ME!"

Domon screamed "GUNDAM!" as his gundam popped up from the water as he grabbed ahold of it and began to do the usual gundam process.

Domon's emotions controlled his gundam along with his movements

This hand of MINE IS BURNING RED! IT'S LOUD ROAR TELLS ME TO GRASP VICTORY! ERUPTTTING BURNING FINGER!!!!"

Yipes, this absolutely wasn't a Phantom attack! The energy balls and missiles created waves that tossed poor Smartypaw left and right, screwing up her trajectory. "Hold! Still! You!" She shouted, aiming the bigger rocks at Purifier's arm. "You want me to sever the right one, or the left?"

Tantalum stood behind Trey, surprised by the reactions of the women after it launched sand and the local aquatic life at their faces. Expecting them to all gang up on it, beating it up and caving in its glass bulb head, what mostly happened instead was that they were mildly annoyed by Tantalum. Some of them also caught the seafood he ejected from his vents and ate it, which was weird. Oh, and one of the women was on fire, but they seemed unaffected. That confused Tantalum greatly.

The machine lurched back after getting yelled at Trey, probably for sneezing and causing a disturbance. It responded by making itself smaller, dimming its lightbulb head, and buzzing apologetically. Afterward, the robot followed Trey and the rest of the gang as they entered a cute little shop. Tantalum wasn't sure exactly why it was following them. Maybe it was because everyone else was there, too. Eventually, they made their way into a large room in the basement of the shop, where Tantalum could recognize an assortment of machines and robots like him. But much, much larger.

An identical copy of Saber was connected to a machine, threatening to kill Saber. It wasn't sure what the women were talking about at this point, especially whatever a siren was. Do they mean literal sirens, as in the ones in Greek mythology? The robot wasn't sure if it remembered reading about them being able to transform... Or being real at all. Besides, the women weren't even sure if Saber's doppelganger was even one of those things. Surely they were talking about something different...

Suddenly, one of the women caused a ray to strike a walking cat and mouse, before beginning to strike everyone else there. Once they were struck, they began to transform in various ways. Chaos erupted and despite Tantalum's attempts at dodging the rays, it was ultimately struck and the result caused Tantalum to shrink... And shrink... And shrink until it was as small as a thumb. How adorable. But Tantalum was definitely not happy. It scurried about the room while the siren broke free.

What happened next was strange for Tantalum. Due to its small size, everything seemed to be slower excluding himself. That meant as the women spoke about their plans for the Sirens and portals and whatnot, they spoke slow and deep in Tantalum's perspective. This made it hard for the robot to concentrate on anything. Nonetheless, it stayed for the meeting. Tantalum would also join with everyone who set out to the sea.

Tantalum, before setting off with the squad, retrieved its device, which was much smaller than the others, and had three plug-ins on top to connect its feet onto. Everything was still so surreal to Tantalum, but at this point, it just started to roll with it. Maybe this is just a really bad, really long dream its having! Hopefully... Just as with everyone else who didn't stay, Tantalum clumsily skimmed across the ocean as it followed the rest of the group. It was terrified of the water since it could kill him if too much water got inside him. Although, as shown from the incident he caused a while back, he can survive if a little bit of water gets in his systems.

Soon, the group would encounter a squad of these "Sirens," which mostly looked the same as others of the same class as them. They were obviously hostile as they were attacking our group, but something caught the robot's eye as it swerved awkwardly above the sea. One of the Sirens, presumably a general, was controlling a doppelganger of Tantalum. Tantalum suddenly had flashbacks to the dream it had, and it immediately recognized who it was. Was it the one that took it here? What did it want from Tantalum?

While the Sirens continued to attack, and a Purifier descended from the sky, Tantalum easily avoided many of the attacks thanks to its small size. However, it now had to deal with the suddenly massive waves generated by the attacking impacting the water below them. One of these waves were so large, it managed to launch the robot through the air. It eventually collided with one of the weaker Sirens and, by self-defense, tried to attack them by removing one of its three legs attached to the surfing device Tantalum received and tried to prick them. Should it connect, the small robot would try to electrocute the weaker Siren with all its might.

The strike that would've struck Kaladin was countered by Domon and his God Gundam. The collision of impacts was heavy enough to create ripples along the waves. The colliding palm and fist were in a tug of war, and Mashin Gundam used this opportunity to unleash a purple-flamed version of Erupting Burning Finger via his free hand, aiming for God Gundam's abdomen for massive damage!

Tantalum electrocuted the mook Siren successfully, but it didn't seem like it was a one-hit thing, with Tantalum's size and all. The mook grabbed Tantalum with her hands and from his perspective, her thumb and index fingers were converging on him, ready to crush him like a hydraulic press as she expressed a great grin on her face!

"Without the right equipment, that would be outright impossible," the 'Doctor' spoke through the comms, directed towards Smartypaw, "what do you propose, Smartypaw?"

"Oh~?" Purifier chuckles at the sight of the Smartypaw, the continuously striking rocks doing nothing.

"If an untrained blade can do seemingly nothing to a lesser Sirens, rocks will do even less to Purifier," the Doctor suggests.

"What do we have here~?" Purifier, the rocks bouncing off her body, approaches Smartypaw, her steed slowly swimming like the sharp it held the shape of - its machine body swaying from side to side. "Did you all get a new mascot? Is that your new source of motivation?"

It appeared that all Smartypaw's throwing did was let Purifier know that she existed. Whoops.

As the Siren skated towards her, however, she would not twitch a whisker. "Mascot! Puh!" Her fur rose indignantly. "I was once a cowardly Miletan, but I am now Smartypaw, a hero of Jamaa! And I will very soon be a hero of this island on top of that! Also, this is my sidekick, Pookybear." Seeing her chance as plain as day, she secured Pookybear to her neck with her bandana, then sprung to Purifier, hoping to land her incisors in a weak spot.

Purifier made a swift move, lunging an arm towards Smartypaw before the rabbit's maws could chomp, grabbing the bunny's neck and raising her into the air.

"You hold a lot of confidence in you, but how long can it last as I show everyone what a weak link does to the entire chain~? Shall I do it quickly and painlessly, or shall it be slow to squeeze out as much despair~?"

"Oh dear~ you're hurting the poor bunny~ please put her down~?" 'Z23' requests.

"Slowly it shall be~"

This bought Smartypaw time, and the others time to-

SHING!

The time was used well.

Purifier's arm was cut clean as it fell to the surface and floated, still attached to Smartypaw and seemingly still alive, albeit weaker. The flesh wound, the gore - it was black and viscous, much thicker and darker than human blood and muscle.

"How do you like that, huh?" MHX mocks.

"That's impossible! How did you manage to conceal your presence?" Purifier seethes, her arm slowly but surely regenerating as her black blood trickled onto the ocean, floating on its surface like an oil spill.

"I don't know, but I sure struck fear into your heart, didn't I?"

"I will strike a hole in yours!" One of Purifier's cannons charged as they were directly planted onto MHX's chest, but as they released, they somehow... missed?

"I bid you adieu," MHX reappears by Taihou's side, one hand holding Purifier's arm that still grasped Smartypaw, the other saluting with two fingers.

"Taihou, unleash your bombers, now!" the 'Doctor', through the comms, commands.

"Understood, my beloved~" Taihou declares, her fan-like armaments opening up as she unleashed a good flock of phantasmal projections that transformed into miniature planes, all but one charging forward to bomb the various Sirens as they grew in size.

One in particular chose to lag behind as it slowly grew in size, giving time for MHX, holding the hand and Smartypaw, to jump on and jump in.

"Off we goooo!"

"I don't think so~"

Torpedoes were then released from underneath, knocking everyone off as various explosions popped up on the surface of the water.

"Lurkers? How were we not able to detect them?" the 'Doctor' announced.

"Whatever underhanded tactics they're pulling, it's jamming our anti-submarine radar!" 'Laffey' exclaims, "but they're definitely there!

DEPTH CHARGE TIME!"

A great device attached to 'Laffey's' riggings released something into the water deep underneath, the shockwave underneath frying the 'Lurkers', all while sparing those who dwelled near the surface.

Taihou, on the other hand, was frozen in place, an expression of shock and fear.

"S- subma-"

"Taihou, do you read me?"

During this, all of Taihou's planes began to crash and explode. The one holding MHX and Smartypaw was ready to go the same way!

"MHX, Smartypaw, evacuate, now! Taihou can't properly function in her current emotional condition!"

"Take your time to console her, big boy! I'm not gonna delay my freeeedom!"

MHX began to pilot the flying vehicle, flying over the overshadowing giant air ship and divebombing it, before the plane looped and charged in, its propellers cutting through any remaining, now-brittle ceiling of whatever they were crashing into. The ceiling regenerated, the plane, now broken into smithereens, demateriaized and MHX and Smartypaw were miraculously still in one piece. All that impact finally allowed the hand to let go of Smartypaw.

The insides of the Siren ship were much like the outsides - the walls and ceilings were black, with reddish-orange outlines decorating the place. The scene was out of a scifi movie!

"We did it! Now we just have to do our part!"

Just then, the doors opened as a few Sirens floated in. The leader wasn't a shape they saw on the battlefield, but the followers certainly were. These Sirens had blue where those on the field had yellow.

MHX quickly hid Smartypaw and the hand in her overcoat, before picking a hiding spot.

"It came from here you say?" their leader asks, "they can't have left this room, and if they did, they certainly aren't here for the subjects."

The squad examined the area, looking left and looking right. One looked directly at MHX, even peering into her eyes, before looking away and shaking her head.

"I hope this wasn't a practical joke," the leader snarls, leading the others out of the room, "I'll deal with you later, let's leave."

Heaving a sigh of relief, MHX looked to the side of her hiding spot to notice... a pod?

This pod contained a strange girl with the traits of dragons ( Topless ), her eyes closed as she laid there in stasis, her unconscious body floating in anti-gravity.

"OK... what's going on?" MHX ponders as she looks the other direction, noticing a second pod.

This one contained a strange man of Asian descent ( Thepotatogod ). Like the girl, his eyes were closed and he was in stasis.

MHX walked away from her position and turns behind, only to see other pods as well!

There were other individuals in the same state as well. ( MythyDW ; PolikShadowbliss )

"Ooookay. Looks like we hit some kind of jackpot. Bunch of guys in pods. Hey, big boy, what do you propose we do?" MHX contacts the 'Doctor'

"I'm surprised my signal can get through a Siren ship. OK, take the hand and p-"

After that, static. Looks like our dynamic duo was by themselves now.

"Well, be surprised no more, big boy. Aaaand now we're stuck. At least we know the this hand wasn't for nothing... whatever it's for..."

MHX swung the arm around while gesturing as if it was a teacher's pointer. It appeared that this arm was still moving, albeit very slowly.

"... hey, bunny rabbit... do you think this'll make a good backscratcher? Looks like she doesn't cut her nails all that much..."

So! How did Smartypaw think this would go?

As soon as she was in range, she was grabbed by the neck, left to struggle. Pookebear managed to slip out right before Purifier's grip tightened, allowing him to try chewing on the Siren's wrist. "G-good thiiinking, P-p-pookybear!" Smartypaw cheered hoarsely, feeling her head become lighter. Was this the end of our little rabbit?

No! The Alphas of Jamaa would never allow such a thing! Instead, Smartypaw's adversary would find her arm chopped off! Though our heroine would still be constricted, she knew she would live to challenge other animals to Gem Breaker another day! "Good thinking..." She choked to MHX.

Our heroine would have enjoyed the flight, if not for the hand strangling her. Pookybear, however, was having the time of his life, throwing his tiny paws in the air and squeaking joyously. Both animals watched torpedos make the surface turbulent, and the enemy finished off with some kind of shockwave. After the finisher, the plane the trio rode in began to sputter and spew smoke; It was falling apart!

Pookybear grappled onto his rabbit friend for comfort as MHX brought it down, sending it smashing through the ceiling. Was this the end of our intrepid lagomorph and rodent duo?

No! The Alphas of Jamaa would not allow this, either! Instead, not only were they unharmed, but Smartypaw was finally freed from the hand! "OOOOOOOH, MY GOSH." Our heroine drew in a deep breath, strength quickly returning to her paws. "That was amazing! Can we do it again on the way back?"

A quick investigation led by Pookybear's ever curious snoot brought them to a small group of people trapped in suspended animation! The Doctor told them to do something with Purifier's hand, but the feed cut off before she could finish. This left MHX to guess, offering Smartypaw a backscratch. "We can scratch our backs later!" She remarked, pushing the hand away. "We have a rescue to carry out! Pookybear, help me find the locking mechanism! I'll chew it apart!" She would begin investigating the dragon girl's pod.

If Tantalum was larger, the electrocution of the weaker Siren would have been much more effective. It was to be expected the robot's ability would have been proportioned with its size. Now all Tantalum inflicted the Siren was a minor static shock. She seemed amused by this, as the Siren grabbed Tantalum and prepared to crush the machine with her two substantially larger fingers like a bug. She sported a great big grin on her face as Tantalum began to panic.

As her fingers grew ever so closer to crushing Tantalum's delicate head, the robot's lightbulb head quickly began to glow brightly. So much so that you could've mistaken the tiny machine for a miniature sun. Its glass bulb head began to heat up to intense temperatures, and just before the Siren could press her fingers together, Tantalum smacked its head on any exposed skin on her hand. If contact was made, it could easily burn the skin. However, it's unsure if the output of heat Tantalum was able to put out would end up being ineffective due to its size.

"Totally agreed! One crash is never enough! We can ride my ship on the way out. It can handle waaaay more punishment than that flimsy World War II plane from that flimsy World War II flight deck."

There was nothing on the pods themselves to activate or deactivate them. MHX herself was trying to do something by repeatedly using the hand to feel the king-like Asian man's pod, to no avail.

"Come on handy dandy... do your thing..."

The Siren flinched in response as she finally released Tantalum her grip, causing him to descend into the oceans. The Siren looked around for our minute friend as her grin turned upside down. She frantically looked around for Tantalum, aiming her animal-shaped riggings at where she thought he'd be...
