In your frantic panic, your able to not get soaked completely, and just have your butt get wet.
You find yourself sitting not close from the sand-bar, and squint to see what your demon-doll dude is looking at.

Your eyes widen when you realize that its closer.

Blemmigan Blemmigan
------------------------------------------

The pages seem to be from a diary of some sort.
You skip all the boring stuff like writings you cant read or strange phrases in other languages.

You finally find something worth reading.

'The grass is dead.

Father Jacob doesn't know why its happening, but he believes it to be the work of the evil inside the house. He is beginning to take matters into his own hands, though I do not fully support this decision.
I heard that he and a group of volunteers were going to go and burn that wretched place to the ground during the employees' lunch break, which is around midnight. I hope they don't really try it...

My boss, the motel owner, thinks the place is great, though for other reasons. He has this brother, Charlie I think, and the two of them are pretty long-distance close.
Anyways, his brothers having a kid, and they think'd it be cool if his and his brothers kid met.
But yeah, it means a lot to him.

I dunno about the House itself.
That's a whole other topic I don't want to discuss, mostly because of the-'

And of course that's were it cuts off.
Wait, motel?

You scurry back outside and realize that that strange building full of windows with the lumps in front of it must be the motel mentioned in the diary page.

Orikanyo Orikanyo
------------------------------------------------
G: Yeah, so, about that.
G: I'm probabaly not gonna be that big of a help in the waking world.
G: You touching me or whatever kinda, I don't know, messed with my programming?

G: So my good half is over here, while my backup or some shit is over there.

G looks around.
G: We're in the Watchtower.
Kimona Kimona
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

You take a close look at the globe.

S
urprisingly, the glob features Earth, which is strange...
Looking up at all the other maps on the walls, its obvious that earthlings lived here. These are all maps of places from your world.

In boredom, you spin the globe, and turn back.

You almost scream.

Behind you, by the door which you wouldn't have seen due to the way it opens, was a bookshelf that ahd fallen down.
Books had been strewn across the floor, onto the carpet, and onto the corpse that was laying there as well.
Its old. Very old. Its almost completely skin and clothing.

The only notable thing about it is a small journal it holds in its hand.

TekSoda TekSoda

Dick: Why do diary entries always cut out at important parts?
Dick: Almost like the author specifically wants to leave some sense of foreboding or missing information...
Dick: Isn't that right game?

You pause for a moment, treating this as one of those moments where a character looks at the camera.

Which instead is more or less worrying you if someone is actually watching you right now...

....

Clutching your cane in both hands you start making your way out of the bar, deciding the motel may be your best bet next in your list of scary places to go to...

Maybe there you will find the key to the church? The diary mentioned Father Jacob, so likely he holds the key... Wherever HE may be...

Nonetheless, you got a Silent Hill level need to go to a spooky abandoned motel in a desert that was maybe once a forest to find a key for another place or maybe find a kick ass weapon/part to upgrade your current arsenal...

...Parts of you wish you really trained and collected swords before all this...

==> Head to the motel.

You nod.
Got it.
Watchtower.
Wherever and whatever that is.

"What if I merged you with something?"

You ask as you try to make another observation of the room.
You seem to be in the same study as before? yes or no.

==> Work out what that thing is.

Okay, the water is not as deep as you thought it might be, but there's still that thing. You've dropped the torch, so you flail around in the shallows, hoping that you'll find it by sheer luck. Instead your fingers brush against something... slimy.

==> Stab it to death immediately.

The blade of your knife, which you somehow managed to hold onto without injury, makes a dull thudding sound when it hits the thing. You stop, confused, and tap the knife against it again, as the waves catch it and move it again.

That's weird. It feels solid, hollow, and-- you're convinced-- not alive.

Your puppet pal still hasn't moved, but you get the feeling that it's laughing at you.

After exclaiming several expletives in a voice best described as simultaneously whispering and shouting, you get a hold on shit.

On one hand, its a spooky corpse.

On the other hand, it could have lore.

You make the clear, reasonable decision to walk over and reach for the journal.

Yes, you appear to be in the study where you last...
Fell asleep? You Aren't sure what the term is for the transferring between the waking world.

G: Actually about that.
She looks uncomfortable.
G: I can't really, 'merge', with anything anymore, because...
G steps closer to your.
You realize why it didn't want to merge with anything.

It already had.

Before you, stood a taller, no-faced, ghostly version of yourself.

Kimona Kimona
-----------------------------------

You Pick up the Object.

I
t appears to be some kind of weird hermit crab?
You don't know, but its a strange shade of blue, and remarkably lukewarm.

You look up, to see the dark doll thing gone.

And something moving very quickly towards you in the water.
Something shaped like a man with gills.

Blemmigan Blemmigan
------------------------------------

The Motel Looks Ominous.

The Lumps in the front actually seem to be cars, if very old ones at that.
They doesn't seem to be anything of value inside them.

You enter the Lobby.

Its barren, and there don't seem to be any memorabilia on the walls.
The only thing in the room is one of those ding-y bells from all of the movies about motels, which rests on the front counter.

You also can't seem to reach behind it at the moment.

Orikanyo Orikanyo
------------------------------------------------------

You Pick up the Book.

T
he dead mans hands easily let go of it.
Coughing from the dust, you open it.

Its seems to be a journal.

'I can't escape it any more.
I think I' ve figured out most of the puzzles but
theres no escape.'

You flip through the pages to find anything of worth.
Many of them are extremely smudged, but you seem to get the gist of it.

The guy or whoever he was tried to escape the house, but couldn't for some reason, so he found a series of actions that could unlock the way.
You wonder if you could somehow un-smudge the pages?

TekSoda TekSoda

==> Ascertain why you cannot reach over the counter.

It seems reasonable to be able to reach beyond it, though then again you do not know the limitations currently in place...

==> Press the bell

...Well why not?

==> Ring a ding ding

.......
"........"
"huh."

You stare at the ghost for a minute.

So that was a thing.
You has always wondered what it would be like if there were two of you.
Although she is not quite the image you expected.
Was she timid because she was glichy?

You slowly raise up your communication device an take a picture.
More proof.

Regardless it was pretty great that she was still inn this study.
You never did get to investigate that noise.

"So dude should I call you like, Ryuu-ghost now or something?"
You ask. You look towards where you remember the noise being.
"Or maybe like Ryuu-G, or RG, or GR. G(i)rrr?"
"Also. is there, like, a way to take things from this place to where my normal body is?"

You add as you had towards the closed door.
You wanted to get your questions asked and investigate.
It was faster to do both at the same time.

Investigate==>

==> Retreat.

You try to say something sarcastic about the shadow, just to help the urgency along. Something like "thanks for that" or "fat lot of good you were", but all that comes out is some kind of embarrassing squeak.

No time to worry about that: you stumble to your feet the best you can on the wet ground, knife in one hand, your new, blue crab assistant in the other, the flashlight who knows where.

You step back as the fishman slithers out of the water, its webbed hands clawing against the ground, like you're witnessing the first horrible stages of sea life adapting to land. All of this through the rain and the gloom, the light from the house behind you glinting off the water and the slimy creature crawling after you.

They know you're here, says the part of your brain that you never actually asked for its opinion, thank you. They know you're here and now they can creep out and drag you down into the water.

Another step back, and it follows. You're sure that you see teeth, fins, and a face moulded from soft, grey flesh. Like something dead and bloated from the water, its gills flapping like deep gashes in a corpse, empty of blood.

==> Focus.

It's easier when it's a target painted on a wall, and there isn't rain in your eyes and the smell of rotting fish in your nose. But you raise the hand with the knife, and your pursuer takes another step forward.

You throw.

You wait just long enough to hear a gurgling sound before you turn and run to the house, locking the front door behind you.

The hermit-crab-thing you're holding wriggles, its feet pattering against your arm almost like it's trying to reassure you that the danger is over. It doesn't seem to be trying to kill you, which makes it unique in this world. Besides, your useless shadow-puppet-guide seemed to think it was important before it sodded off. This thing is more likeable, anyway. It can be your mascot or something.

Your phone is in the kitchen. You don't usually use it when you're at home, so you left it to charge this morning and forgot about it. This is the ideal time to update your co-players as to what's going on with your part of the game.

BlueVitriol > all
BV: stuff your ghosts.
BV: i've got a crab.

You pocket the journal, deciding un-smudging pages is a worry you'll concern yourself with later. At present, you decide to start going through the rather intimidating stack of papers. It probably won't tell you anything of value, but you'll take even a small chance.

When you ring the bell, you hear a shuttering noise.

Looking to your left, you realize that some kind of old elevator function has activated, opening one of the doors slightly, but not enough to get inside.
You wonder....
You ding the bell again.

The door closes.

Huh.

You ding the bell two times in succession.
The elevator door opens slightly, as well as another to your left.

Hm....

Meanwhile, in your house, a new option appears for your Visitants home.
One involving a Table.

Orikanyo Orikanyo
-----------------------------------
G: I think RG is good.
RG: And about the whole body thing...
RG: The only way to really do that is find your other body.

RG: Oh yeah, I should probably mention that your body now and your body awake are two separate entities.

You enter the only other door in the room aside from the one leading to the dungeon.

You enter a mildly lit hallway.
Grotesque but strangely beautiful gargoyles line the walls, as well as the sound of the rain from outside.
Its not as dark or as dank as you thought it would be, but nonetheless, its unsettling.

Before you now, are two doors.
Neither of them have signage, only a differences in material, one being made of stone and the other of oak wood.

Kimona Kimona
-------------------------------------------

The crab wriggles in some kind of agreement with your statement.
Huh.

You look outside to see if you can spot the corpse of the thing you just killed...

You don't.
However, a message does pop up in front of your face.

> FEP (Fearful Emotion Points) Gained!
???: Are you finished.
???: Ready to begin the Yourquest.

Blemmigan Blemmigan
------------------------------------------------

The stack of papers are mostly illustrations of random objects which seem to have no value.
Ones of a crab. Another, a branch. A Jewel, a ring, etc.

You don't really see a need for these things.

Sighing, you leave them there.

Then the door closes, locking you in the room.

TekSoda TekSoda

You nod, listening to RG as you walk. You snap a picture of the gargoyles.
"Well then how do I find my other body?"
You asks ask you look between the doors.
You wish you had your skateboard. That would make this 10x more fun.
Or even a can of your spray paint.

"Is there any way I could have both of my bodies away at once?"
You decided to ask.
Things would be so much more efficient that way.
You decide on the stone door.
You could check the wood one next.

The place opperates on the bell huh? And ringing the bell in succession twice opened another... Hmmm...

...

Wait... weren't you doing something at home?

Well you'll see about it after.

You have elevators to check out.

==> Investigate the one opened slightly

==> Celebrate?

Apparently you're starting to win at the game. Thanks to you... being scared? Well, it's an original concept, if nothing else. You hope that you can get through this without a stress-induced heart attack.

The disembodied voice, on the other hand, seems to fit in with everything else you've encountered so far.

Nils: ready to begin my what?

You direct the question at nobody in particular, waiting until your pulse returns to normal. Without any other ideas, you look down at the hermit crab in your arms.

Nils: you got any ideas, captain?

RG: Well, your other body is.... asleep.
RG: The only way to really find both is to get to it and wake it up.
RG: But that's kind of impossible.

You open the door, which you now notice has a sign on it.
It appears to be the
'Ruby Room'.

Inside, the rooms reasonably small.

You could compare it to one of those rooms in detective shows where people connect photos and collect evidence.

In the center of the wall adjacent is a large billboard with various items on it.
In the center of the board is an unfinished blueprint, tacked with various notes which you cannot read.
In the corner closest to you is a marble statue that seems to be missing something in its arms.

Another, smaller and complete blueprint lays on the desk next to you.
Around the room lie stacks of red construction paper and white paper respectively.

Kimona Kimona
-------------------------------------------------

Inside the elevator is a very empty room, which looks just like an elevator.
Huh.

You walk over and check the other one...
The only notable thing appears to be a hole in the wall.

Oh.
Oh no.

You back away quickly, as the elevator turns on, opening all the way.
And coming through the wall, is a horde of stone bugs.

Specifically spiders. Made of stone. Turning the wallpaper into stone with their venom.

Orikanyo Orikanyo
------------------------------------------------------------------------

You look around, before your demon-doll thing comes through the floor and hovers in front of you.
???: Cease the playtime with crustacean.
???: Why have you named it and not I.
???: Your Yourquest. First challenge you must face.

==> Guess why god may hate you.

You don't know why.

But you do feel it.

Hatred filled your body as the skittering monstrosities come forth.

But you cannot let yourself fly off the handle, you must channel you hatred!

Hmmm....

Indeed!!!

If you remember, your laser may be good for larger beasts as it was only one lazer... But...

Well, fire may not work to well on stone but hey, better than nothing...

Well, you may be thinking cool and tactically, but in truth you are flailing about like a comeplete moron and running for the door,
haphazardly yanking out your de-instructive rod.

==> Do the thing!!

You don't know the incantation but thats never stopped you before.

.... Actually nothing comes to mind...

Ah shoot, uhh, uhhh.

==> DO THE THING THEY ARE COMING!

UHHHHHHHHHHH!

==> FASTER!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!

==> Activate the power of god and anime.

Screw it do something from a game!
Dick: FIRA!
Dick: FIRAGA!?
Dick: Blizzard?
Dick: Worth a try...

Scampering away from the incoming swarms of dogs you are pushed back to the doorway.

You can't go outside or these things will just plain hide in the sand and you'll be watching your every step in these damn dunes forever!!
Dick: okay... Umm... valkyrie Profile reference...? Why not I guess.!
Dick: I invoke the rights of fiery muspellheim
Dick: And give thy souls up to the infernal's embrace!
Dick: Ifrit's carress!!!

You point towards the swarm with the staff, oozing gusto as you hope to god it works.

You look around.
"I see..."
"WEll... then that just makes me want to try more."

You decide.
You also decide to look at the blue print on the table first.
It was definitely a good a place to start as any.

As you look them over trying to decide what they are/say, you glance at RG. speaking up once more.
"Your the ghosty guide version of me, so maybe it might be better to as you then to continue asking myself."
You begin.
"should I tell them, the others about the body(ies)?"
You ask

Nils: oh, look who decided to show up.
Nils: and... to start talking?
Nils: all of this after you led me into the water and just vanished.
Nils: why'd you take me to captain nemo if you didn't want me to pick him up?

You hold the aforementioned Captain up to demonstrate. He waves his legs and mouthparts in what you like to think of as agreement, but he could just as easily be trying to escape.

Did one of the others mention something about naming ghosts? Up until now, you weren't even sure that the shadowy thing was supposed to be your ghostly guide. It certainly hadn't done anything to endear itself to you, even once it stopped being a creepy dummy that apparently wanted you dead.

==> Name your ghostly guide already.

Nils: well, ok.
Nils: you're kind of creepy and you keep vanishing underground, so i'll call you morlock.
Nils: glad that's sorted.
Nils: so what's this first challenge of my myquest?

You hope it doesn't rely on you being afraid. For the sake of your blood pressure, if not your dignity.

Well, shit.

The book probably has something on this room, but the book's smudged to hell and back. Un-smudging just sounds... weird to you. You figure you could maybe do it using alchemy or someshit, but you're sort of locked in.

However, you figure the solution is probably possible to figure out without it. After all, how did they figure it out if it were impossible? I mean, this room is puzzle-ish as well. Who just leaves random drawings neatly stacked on a desk? The correct thing to do is burn them so nobody can see your terrible art. You speak from experience.

Before you do anything else, you decide to scan the room for anything else you might have missed. The last time you scanned the room, you missed a corpse, so you figure you don't want to be surprised like that again.

As the swarm is about to enclose upon you, you feel a warmth.
Your body begins to move of its own volition ,as the staff glows, and the stone spiders stop in their tracks.

You point the stick of holy justice up, and out shoots an amazing beam of white light.
Its so bright, even you can barely look at it.

The Spiders in front of you are petrified. (Not Literally.)
Then they are nothing more than ash.

As you calm back down, you realize how tired you are.

Maybe that was what they called an Impulse?

Orikanyo Orikanyo

RG: Your multiple bodies?
RG: Sure, I guess. I mean I would, but-
RG: ...
RG: Oh.

RG: You mean the corpses of the various children in the dungeon.

RG floats towards the board, facing away from you, holding herself in her arms.
RG: ...
RG: I dunno.
RG: This really conflicting.
RG: Since I'm, y'know, you, then I wouldn't.
RG: They're already in enough trouble, they don't need to know that their pals corpses are down here.
RG: On the other hand, I am meant to be a guide.
RG: And that part of me is saying to do so, purely to progress through the game.

RG: But in the end, it's your choice, isn't it?
Hesitating, you look at the put aside blueprint.

It appears to be of a house? Or at least a very decorated hallway that's huge and allows for living space.

Kimona Kimona

MORLOCK: Yourquest.
MORLOCK: Will and always will be Yourquest.
MORLOCK: Your other friends separate Yourquests, all correspond into the Mainquest.

MORLOCK: How to start it?

You can imagine a smirk appearing on Morlocks face.
MORLOCK: Well, simple.
MORLOCK: Find key. Unlock Gateway. Second Challenge.
MORLOCK: But of course, not easy.
MORLOCK: Why?
MORLOCK: Key protected by 'Boss'.

MORLOCK: Find boss, find key.
Blemmigan Blemmigan

You frantically search the room, looking at the globe, at the corresponding map behind the desk, even at the ones that match nothing else in the room.

You don't know if there's a time limit or not, but your not about to find out.

Suddenly, you feel a warmth in your pocket.
You take a page out, and see some words un-smudged themselves.

You nod as you look over the blue-prints, listening to RG.
"Your right. They have to much on their plates."
"I will tell them about the dream and waking bodies though."

You decide with a nod as you fold up the blueprint.
It could come in handy, who knows.
Once it is folded up nicely and shoved on on of these apprentice apron pockets, you had to board where RG is.

Examine==>

==> Gaze at the holy staff.

Well, you don't remember takeing it out a second ago, but hey, it's cool, guess holy stuff is your jam.

Gotta follow the theme you guess.

On the plus side, less spiders in the motel and more points.

Those sweet sweet points.

Well... Theres maybe more spiders inside... And you are pretty tired...

Tired again... man...

best get TO the bed this time, no sense falling flat on your face again...

...

But then again.. The motel is right here...

==> Examine the now open elevator.

EM: Well guys, I did an impulse,
EM: somehow,
EM: kind of just litterally let jesus take the wheel and I obliterated a mess of spiders.
EM: Spiders who turn things to stone with their venom.
EM: Who seemed intent of biting everything as they went along? Odd but fair enough I suppous.

==> Consider implications.

The implications being that this actually is a proper game, with quests and bosses and keys. It's a miracle.

Okay, obviously you knew it was a game when you first installed the Darkness. But then you reconsidered, when it turned out to be less like a video game and more like the entire world has been corrupted and reshaped to make a fun little ARG for you and your friends. Or you're in a coma somewhere, this is all a mad hallucination, and you've decided to include these three friends in it for some reason. You're still not entirely ready to let go of that possibility just yet.

But... even if this isn't real, you've no idea how to wake up. You might as well take the whole thing at face value. Including Morlock here.

Nils: ...and to find any of that, i've got to get off this island, right?
Nils: the one that's in the middle of a sea full of fish zombies, at night, in the rain.
Nils: just to give me some idea of what i need to do first.
Nils: not that i want to ruin this smug enigmatic thing you've got going on.
Nils: how about this: is the weather ever going to clear up, or is this game taking the "darkness" bit completely literally?

You don't really want to leave the house anyway, but if it really is going to be the only source of light in this place, then you're even less encouraged.

But hey, maybe once you get going, it'll be fun. Maybe you'll soon be able to leave the ocean zone and get to the aztec zone or the future zone or whatever the other one was. Somewhere that doesn't smell of dead fish. And where your family managed to escape to safety.

Magical journals. Lovely. You decide that regardless of how much magic affects everything here, and regardless of how frustrating it is because it's so far out of your area of expertise, you shouldn't be so passive-aggressive, because the journal is working in your best interest.

You decide to go with your first instinct, because you're kind of sort of low-key beginning to freak out a little bit, and try to spin the globe around to match with the corresponding map, though getting things just right would be easier if your hands weren't shaking for some completely unrelated reason.

"I-It's kinda chilly in here, huh?"

You don't buy your own shit.
