[Darkest Before Dawn] [Prelude] Another Nexus Night

2 successes

That was also the day I kinda mentally snapped. It's a 2 though, I promise.

The bandits have gotten

3, 1, 1, 0, 2, and 2 successes.
Initial starting ticks will be as follows:

Tick 0- Mith

Tick 3- Bandit leader

Tick 4- Berit, Bandits 5&6

Tick 5- Drycht, Bandits 2, 3, and 4

How the system works is whoever has the most successes determines tick 0. No one can ever start later than tick 5, although a ridiculously high join battle roll can force everyone but you to start on tick 5. When you make an action, there is an associated Speed with that action. This is how many ticks you must wait until you can act again, and how many ticks until any defense penalties (such as from attacking) will last. If you flurry multiple actions, the speed is not added together, but instead your Speed is the slowest speed of all actions combod together.

An easier way to think of this is video game RPGs systems that use an ATB gauge instead of a turn based mechanism. Finally, no penalties from an action are applied until the end of a Tick, so, it is possible for simultaneous kills and stuff like that.

"Oh for the Sun's sake!" Mith stamped her little foot. This was not how things were supposed to go. You can't get paid if the place burns down! Throwing her hands up into the air in disgust- the things she had to do. Bringing her hands back down a massive golden axe shimmered into existence, blue and purple flames licking at it hungrily from it's escape from Elsewhere.

A short leap from the raised dias they called a stage landed the dancer within reach of the bandits.

Thousand Arms Prana +Elegant Dance of Bow and Blade for 1m to draw my blade, free Move action to get within range, and then Peony Blossom Attack for 3 motes to attack.

9 sucesses

To All

Before it had even begun, the fight had already ended. All six men, even the particularly tough looking one, lay quite dead, several of them in more than one piece, bleeding out on the floor. In the middle of the sudden massacre was the short dancer from the Realm, grasping a large golden axe, easily double her size. The bartender dropped a glass to the floor, and the few patrons who hadn't left were equally as shocked, staring at her.

The woman the bandits had attacked was still bleeding on the floor however.

Before Drycht even had a chance to respond to the bandits, the little dancer girl had already wiped them out.

Well mostly. He was sure one or two of them were still coughing up blood.

Well damn. He could have used the extra coin. Ever since that brat on the street ran off with his bed roll and camping supplies...

But perhaps, there was still a way to gain a few coins out of it yet.

He leant back, resting his feet on the table. Now how did it go again?

"Oi! Kend was it? I think you owe my associate her pay... And maybe a little bit extra to convince us not to add you to the pile!"

Drycht stretched his arms out, and gave a little yawn.

"And then, perhaps, just perhaps, you might be willing to tell us more about these 'Barrow Black' bandits. I am sure it won't take long to notice that they are missing a half dozen men..."
