[Darkest Before Dawn] Exalted or Mortal?

So, question is...start as mortals and Exalt together, or have already been Exalted?


Pros and cons to each.


-Not Exalted: Less rules to worry about from the beginning, can lead you into that. However, more squishy, and the plot seems choppy to have everyone Exalt at once.


-Exalted: Flows smoother, less squishy, you can haz magic powahz. However, moar rules at the front end of the game. I'm willing to help you with the powers though

While powers really aren't important either way (though I do love me some healing powers) I don't want my game nerfed near the beginning. I want all the rules, heavy or not, from the start. I want to be challenged a bit.
