Hatsu couldn't help but be absorbed in the beauty of that landscape that lost itself within the bluish horizon, as if a peaceful sensation unfolded inside of her the more she took in the view. The sun shone high above the blue sky, light sun rays burning red in her eyes, engraving the magnificent silhouette of the fire giant in her retinas. Waves of fresh grass were blown in her direction; as they passed her by, the sweet rejuvenating scent carried by the breeze seeped into her nose. Far from the gigantic horizon expanding, she noticed dozens of figures blurring, as each student ran off to a brighter future; the birds that tore apart the thin curtain of clouds that covered the sky singing something that entranced her.
She didn't quite capture the scenery at first but as she started paying a third of her attention to her surroundings, the school grounds became the most astonishing thing she had ever seen.
That sudden beauty made her remember something she hid away in her memories, it was those summer days all over again, years flew by but she still recalled every detail to perfection. A wave of nostalgia kicked in, almost for no reason whatsoever. She remembered everything, from the way the sun stabbed holes in the heat as it burned ablaze, the way cicadas cried in choir, singing a mournful lament in unison, the way Mary held her hand as they strolled along the streets, her red cape graciously flowing with the wind, her reassuring smile shining a beam of light in that dark void that used to be Hatsu's anxieties and insecurities.
Taken at a glance, one could say she was still stuck in those never ending days filled with sorrow and longing, still trapped in that cruel world that seemed so unreal nowadays. That smile she couldn't protect wasn't there after all, no matter what god she pleaded to, she couldn't turn back to those simpler days she was at Mary's side. And if a time machine to go back to the day wasn't an option, then she'd simply have to indulge in whatever peace she had here. At least this fleeting sense of freedom and peace wasn't masked in loneliness, there were people right in front of her, this was real. Right?
Hatsu was taken back into reality when Harry leaned in closer to her, her eyes shot wide open when she realized that her training had gotten the best of her. The moment Harry caught her off guard, her reflexes flinged her right hand upwards, going for Harry's throat. Luckily she managed to catch her own hand before one her teammates lost his head, quite literally.
She struck a pose to disguise the almost accidental execution and with a friendly smile she responded "You sure are quite the personality aren't you?." She didn't really know how to go about this one, Hatsu was overwhelmed by the amount of confidence this guy was boasting, so she figured the best course of action was just to act as neutral as she could, hoping Harry would lose interest somewhere along the road.
"Anyways, name's Hat- She was abruptly interrupted by Kumi's reprehension on her irresponsibility. Who was this girl? Where was all of this authority coming from? And why did she feel the need punch her? Hatsu was ready to commit manslaughter but she bit her lip with all of her might, afraid of perhaps ruining the possibility of a friendship blossoming from this encounter, and just nodded apprehensively as Kumi kept talking, adding a uninterested sounding "Mhm..." every now and then.
"Alright, now that that's out of the way, my name is Hat- She was again cut off by Aoi's ranting. A weight was lifted off Hatsu's shoulders. Aoi's insults seemed pretty tame, all things considered, it was manageable. "As i was saying, my name is Hatsu, quirk is- But her words fell on deaf ears once again, Aoi quickly ran off, leaving her whole team behind.
She was baffled, and still dumbstruck, so she ended up speaking in true cavemen language "Hatsu... Quirk... Punch..."
Hatsu's bloodshot eyes looked forward, watching with murderous intent as Aoi kept running with no sign of stopping, she could catch up fairly quick if she used her quirk but that would be childish and stupid, only leaving her incapacitated for the rest of the exams if she didn't focus hard enough. She didn't really care though. She didn’t even know the girl but she already wanted to drag Aoi's arrogant face through the ground.
"What the hell have i gotten myself into..." Were her final thoughts, as she let out a sigh, a tired expression on her face.
