Aelius the Radiant

Age: 28

Covenant: Warriors of Sunlight

Background:

Aelius comes from the land of Astora where he was once one of the king's men. He lead several raids and missions in his time with the Astora knights, one of which lead him to the discovery of a hidden artifact of the Warriors of Sunlight. The team of knights had been exploring an old Astorian temple, and inside they had found nothing of value; save for a single greatsword, embed with the power of the sun. Aelius claimed this weapon and began to study it. He followed the path of a scholar in his free time and researched the possible origins of the blade. After many months of searching he finally reached a breakthrough after following up on a lead that pointed to an organization known as the Warriors of Sunlight. These men followed the god Gwyn and used the powers of faith and strength to accomplish their goals. He admired the values and faith-bound honor of the Sunlight Order and their god, and desired to join their ranks. This desire turned into something more however, and began to approach the line of obsession after several months of reading up on them.

Upon they day that his fixation became too much to bear, Aelius left Astora in seach of Lordran and the opportunities it held for him. It was a long and difficult journey and along the way he was plagued with hollows and harsh terrain, it took him the better part of six months to complete his pilgrimage. He arrived in a place called Firelink Shrine, however he paid little attention to it on his way into undead burg. He managed to avoid most of the creatures and demons in the area by taking rooftop and back alley shortcuts to reach the bridge that his manuscripts had described. Upon arrival Aelius was horrified, he hadn't expect a drake to be here. He had only read of such things before and had no idea how to handle such an encounter. He could see the sunlight shrine across, and made the only decision that he was left with; running. He ran across the bridge, getting scorched by dragon fire and collapsing in the entrance of the shrine. His armor had been destroyed by the attack and he was badly wounded. Despite these conditions he managed to trudge to the altar and sit down, studying it carefully. The books had told him to pray at the statue, however the thing in front of him was ruined and destroyed. A proud knight such as he wouldn't be vanquished quite so easily however, and he knelt at the rubble and prayed to Lord Gwyn. He felt something powerful surging into him, and after several long seconds he heard deep resonating voice.

"Seek me out, apostle; and you shall receive the glorious incandescence of my sunlight." The message was projected into Aelius's mind, and it resonated into his body and soul. He knew what his mission way, and his unwavering faith lead him to fully believe that he had been spoken to by Lord Gwyn himself. After the divine episode he realized that he been blessed with the covenant glories of sunlight, a miracle of faith and powerfully defensive plate armor. He felt much more powerful with the power of the sun behind him, however what was really driving him was the new found sense of purpose and the supposed confirmations of his beliefs that he had put so much stock in. Aelius set out to find leads on his quest for Lord Gwyn, and remembering the shrine he had seen earlier; the shrine that held all the potential allies and information, he set out for the shrine in hopes of finding a starting point for his quest. He knew that he had books that may help, and Firelink seemed a safe place to address them.

Personality:

Aelius is an honor bound knight of faith with natural leadership qualities and agreeable traits. He is very confident and cocky at times, and this can often inspire his comrades. He seems to emit courage almost as natural as the sun emits heat, and can instill a feeling of valor and bravery simply by being himself. He is generally good at diplomacy and negotiations, however when those don't work his is more than able to exercise alternatives with his prowess with a greatsword and miracles of faith. He has a very stern morale compass, something that is a double edged sword; he will always do the right thing, which makes him hard to work with depending on the person's morals and goals. Aelius will never allow the sparks of hope to die in his comrades hearts, he will keep you from hollowing no matter what.

Name: Athelisia of Thorolund ( mostly just called fire keeper)

    Age: unknown

    Covenant: none

    Background:

The fire keeper, as she is best know claims to hail from Thorolund, though her odd attire would speak against this story. The firekeeper says that she was once a saint or close to it of the way of white, beloved by the masses. That however ended when the curse of undeath started to plague the world. Still she preached and spoke of keeping faith in the gods and their fire bringing many to a religious zeal and having them run off to the land of gods. Still time moved forward and the curse spread and spread and the church had its doubts , they needed some way to show they knew what they were doing even when they didn't. The high priests soon came up with a solution they needed a sacrifice. This would be no normal sacrifice they needed to make a show of it and make sure all knew, they would not send another warrior instead they would send a saint. Still a saint with little knowledge of battle would do little good but fires needed tending, keeping and women had already come keepers of the flame. That was the perfect solution.

So it was with great fan fare and ceremony that the fire keeper still a saint was named a fire keeper and instead of having to be forced to become a fire keeper she willingly submitted herself. She of course knew or rather realized what this was and could see the trap she had no choice but to accept this fate. There in front of masses she was blinded with red hot pokers as all fire keepers tended to be maimed. Then they gave her the soul of a fire keeper giving her not only the ability to keeper the fires but also to see without her eyes, though only things that contained souls were visible to her. It goes without saying that she passed out from the pain and when she woke she was in the back of a wagon though she could only tell thanks to the sounds of the wheels. The high priests had arrange for a group of those bound for the land of lords to take her with them.

The trip to lordan went well enough and the fire keeper took up residence in fire link shire tending the flame and waiting for someone to ring the bells. She wished those she had been with luck and waited until one by one they died and came back at the fire. She did not see them be reborn but she could hear them and knew their voices. She listened to what they had to say and offered what kind words she could every time they died until they just never came back. This was just the first time that she would meet undead and they would never return going hollow somewhere along the way. Sometimes she would hear a bell and sometimes two but never would any of them return to the shrine. In time she accepted this as a fact of life still she did hope for one undead to return and one day link the fires freeing her to return home.

That changed when the one to known as the chosen undead showed up carried by a giant crow. At first she thought they would just be another undead destined to go hollow still she encouraged him. It was to her surprised that this one managed to ring both bells and returned from the home of the gods. He told her of a hidden world and the sun covered kingdom and the mighty knights guarding the lord vessel. This was also when the serpent frampt woke for the first time in however long it had been. This one undead had done more than any before them still they had to defeat the 4 lords. She wished him luck with his new mission and hoped to hear of his battles when he finished. Several times the chosen undead returned with stories of crystal caves, inky depths, and chaos consumed ruins. Still there was another soul to gain and it was this journey that changed the fire keeper herself.

The chosen undead descended into a flooded city and fought ghostly kings and when he returned she felt something in him. It was something dark and ancient a fireless burning that gnawed at souls as surely as the humanity gnawed at hers. This was her first exposed to the abyss and she becomes interested in it, not because she wanted power or feared it, but because she wanted to soothe whatever caused this gnawing. While at first the fire keeper thought this would be the end but the chosen undead had found something in the archives and wanted to look into something before the end.

The next time the fire keeper saw the chosen undead he told her a crazy story of time travel, obsession and corruption. He spoke of the abyss and its start the ancient human unearthed and tortured into madness that had birthed the darkness. The fire keeper felt this darkness inside the chosen undead a pure darkness that was different from before and she wanted to know more, to help this tortured ancient soul, but she could not do so, she couldn't even leave this shrine. This would be the last story the chosen undead would tell her before he descended into the kiln and should have linked the fire, but he didn't. The fire keeper could guess what had happened as he did not return as he would if he die, he went hollow. So once again she waits for undead to journey to this land and gain power, but now she does not think the fire should be linked and wishes to take the lord souls to stop the age of fire not to doom humanity but because she believes the dark will bring forth the good in humanity.

Personality: The firekeeper is a very calm person thinking herself well grounded despite the madness around her. She is the kind to be quiet and support others believing herself to lack the strength to do as the would be heroes do. Still she is the kind to look on the bright side and bielive in others to the point of fault. She often simply wants to help others healing what hurts them offering someone to talk to if needed if she can help she would like to try. Still she has started to doubt the gods and the idea of linking the flame at all wondering if perhaps the dark isn't as bad as everyone thinks it is, if people would just embrace instead of trying to use it or destroy it.

Prince Valence, The King with No Throne/ The Kingdom-less Prince

Age:

Covenant:

Background:

In a kingdom far away, Valence was born to be the prince of the land and usher in a new era of peace among it's unstable population. The kingdom was full of rich plant life and bright ad clean rivers. He was given everything he ever wanted, and studied in the ways of war and science. The kingdom he ruled, you see had no belief in the gods and those who did claimed them impotent. they believed that man and man alone was fit to inherit the earth. This did not mean that the kingdom believed in ushering the twisted age of dark. So it was no surprises that they gave no teachings in magic. When the undead threat came to their area, their army fought with arrows and cunning traps, boiling oils, with axes that could cleave them in twain. Alas, it seemed that they could not stop the inevitable.

There came a man named Astoria the Cleric. Astoria said that he was a holy land from the nearby land of Lothric, and that he had been given the knowledge to cure the plague. He claimed that in the Abyss, one could evolve beyond hollowing and experience true death, and in doing so, bring about the age of man even further. Many people joined him in desperation. They became almost cult like, experimenting on babies, mothers, men, animals, ANYTHING.

The kingdom was Never the same afterward due to the experimentation. It's lush life was ruined and corrupted into poisonous plants, its inhabitants, human and animal twisted into ghoulish and hellish beings, and the lucky were just driven insane. Those who were corrupted joined Astoria in bashing the royal family and those who were still loyal, and clinging to their sanity. Valence, the only member left alive was shot, in the heart and fell to his death off of the top of th e castle, whilst defending what was left of the kingdom he was once going to inherit

Gelara the Landless

Age: 27 -- as far as she can tell.

Covenant: N/A

Background: She came from a distant land, but that is all she is able to say. Years of travel, and indeed years of the Curse, have withered her memories. She remembers sunlight and happy days, but her family and her true home still remain mysteries to the spearwoman who wandered near the Archives. Even the reason behind her presence in Seathe's domain is veiled in a thick haze. However, she has experienced some moments of clarity. Someone had been taken here, yes, that much she remembered. She wasn’t sure who, but someone had told her they had ended up here, near the great crystal worm and his horrors. However, Gelara is more than aware that the curse continues to gnaw away at her mind and cause her to further Hollow. Perhaps she had been led here to seek a cure of the curse, so she could remember her home and go back there. Perhaps it was for the person whom she’d lost, the one she could not, for the life of her, remember. Or perhaps she was well and truly lost, making up fancies to convince herself that the endless battles she engages in are, indeed, full of purpose and real conviction.

She cannot be sure. Her heart remains heavy as her life’s purpose grows dimmer and dimmer. She knows she is in danger of becoming a Hollow, and she worries that she doesn’t care enough to stop her descent. When others come upon her, she asks if they recognize her armor and whether they could tell her its origin, as it is one of the few clues she has as to the name of her former home.

After reading a book in the Archives, she comes across a passage to a place called the Firelink Shrine, which seemed to be a sort of haven. Realizing that people from other parts of the world perhaps had taken up residence in and around the Shrine, she has journeyed there to perhaps receive some actual answers. She did not feel like much choice was to be had -- she had already lost memory of her purpose and her home. At the least, she might find some companionship.

Personality: Gelara is by no means a harsh woman. In fact, those who have met her call her motherly, fair, but stern if provoked. She is one who seems used to giving advice and comforting others, though she herself seems to perpetually bear a great burden which she refuses to share. She is not a vacuous sort, but she does seem often lost in thought. Her mind is prone to drifting off, and she often waxes philosophical when in such deep places. However, in battle she is a fierce opponent, fighting with an almost silent, single-minded fury, as if all the frustrations she keeps quiet come out through her pike.

Sure, sure. She is wandering quite a bit, so perhaps she ends up at Firelink shrine after reading on it. I'll go ahead and change it.

Edit: Alright, I fixed it, so it should be all good now.
