Fantasy Dark Forest Academy - Always Open

Yvette wiped her eyes and leaned softly into Zain. "Nice to meet you all. Now, where to next? The sun is blazing out here, and I am unfortunately in my robes still." She smoothed her dress robes out, secretly eying Fae and her sweater; aware it was to cover her bump. "I must get used to modern day clothing. Please excuse me to go change." She smiled and dragged Zain along behind her with a wink. "Like you'd get to see, but I will be changing into a nicer dress." Though the sun was hot and the air humid, Yvette felt that Zain was a breath of fresh air. Her previous suitors, though sparse, were all pompous and human, not her type. This demon wasn't her type either, but tastes can change, if you meet the right person.

"Can I say all the beautiful women such as yourself?" He said with a devilish grinned. He was being half way serious but also hiding the real reason why he actually came to the school. He didn't care to think of have past, especially his mother. His mother was a whole new level of psycho and he had finally gotten away by using the Academy as his excuse. Now if only he could run from this place and find one where his mother would never find him again... MadiRaiCat MadiRaiCat

"More like gallop and swim," Amaria chuckled. "It's pretty cool you guys can fly though." She stared briefly in awe, then looked back at McCartney, her brow furrowing. "I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable. I tend to just rush people sometimes. Not really meaning to." Her eyes went back to Lukas. "However, I am curious how you all found your way here. Would you guys like to be friends? You guys would LOVE Lavinia!" Amaria spewed out the last few sentences, eagerly.

Malvi shrugged. "I take more after my mom in that way I suppose. I'm really not much of a typical demon." He absentmindedly pets Maylee who had since laid down. "I'm mostly here to get a handle on my current powers." He looks up to her for the first time since they started talking. "What are you here for?

McCartney looked at Lukas with wide eyes as he complimented her. She definitely wasn't used to it, and thus it caused her to falter. "Um...no," she stuttered, looking down at her feet, "I'm not really beautiful or anything. I'm a demon werewolf hellhound, I'm more of a beast instead of a beauty." Her words were quick and lilt, showing her lack of self-esteem clearly. Though the redhead could easily fight and kill without blinking, the tortuous training she went through in her former pack only made her dislike herself more. Mac glanced at the other two girls, searching for a change of subject. Amaria eventually brought it. "Friends! Yes, friends would be nice! I've never really had any of those. What's Lavinia?"

He chuckled as the bird girl asked is any of them could fly. "I can if I want too, I'm a blood vampire." As he said that red blood wings formed behind him before vanishing once more. He glanced at McCartney as she tensed up, "You okay?" He asked, his first encounter with a couple of woman a bit ago didn't go as planned so he decided he needed to come in from a different approach. She laughed, "I wouldn't have grabbed your hand unless I had a reason to..." She said looking at his lost look, her eyes shown brightly at his befuddlement. He was kind of cute when worried, she also took note of the hint of sadness in his eyes. "Are you alright?" Alias Alias

It's amazing because the more he sees in this magic filled world, the more he his reminded of his mundane home. Like that one time he got lost in the mall when he was a kid. The mall wasn't as big as the school, but a that time he swear he thought he was not going home ever again. But in this case...

"Are you alright?", Lu asked Timothy. She is more perceptive that he thought. "Oh um, yes!", he smiled. "I'm fine". He was feeling a little homesick though. But this is something I need to get used to, he thought.

She nodded, "Okay...oh by the way, we've only got a bit father to go. When we get there maybe you can find some books that might help you out." She paused in the middle of walking, "Now that i think about it I think there might be a book of the school. It's like a very detailed historical map!!!" She had stopped walking so abruptly without thinking that Timothy would run into her. She tapped her chin with a pointed nail, "Um...Well I think there was you could always ask the person who runs the library. I'm sure it'd come in handy when I'm not around!!!" She said turning with a bright smile. Alias Alias

He smiled at bit as the she denied being beautiful, in a way it made her wonder why. He turned his head to the unicorn girl, "I wouldn't mind being friends with you three." He really meant what he said at first he had just planned to try and get their blood, but standing here talking with him made him want to be their friend. They would sure make one hell of a group, turning heads this way and that, he chuckled slightly at the thought. MadiRaiCat MadiRaiCat Alyce-Marie Alyce-Marie Helpful Little One Helpful Little One

"Same thing as you, I guess. There's so much to magic, I doubt I could ever learn it all, even if I was immortal. And to think, this time last year I had no idea magic existed." Bethany's eyes twinkled a little bit, the way they always did when she thought about magic. Getting up, she said, "Ill see you around, Malvi. Later!" She headed off, checking her map for the library. Good to know where all the books were, and at least the map was enchanted so she wouldn't get lost.

"Okay, I'll try to find that person when-oof!", Timothy jumped when he accidentaly ran into her when she turned around. Thankfully, they didn't hit each other hard enough to push back one another. "Haha, I'm sorry I wasn't looking", he laughed. As he looked down, he realized that Launet's horn was pressing on his shirt. Suprisingly, he doesn't feel sick. "Huh... am I literally immortal now?", he thought out loud. "Oh!", he made a sudden realization. "It's because It's only touching the shirt, is it?"

"That's cool. I hope we'll both improve this year." He smiled. Maylee stood up suddenly when Bethany did, unsure of her intention. She relaxed when the girl turned to go. "Oh okay, I'll see you round." He was taken aback when she left suddenly but took it as sign to go explore the school. He got up and looked to Maylee. "Where to now?" Maylee sniffed the air and glanced around, something clearly having caught her attention, she just wasn't sure from where it was.

McCartney sighed in relief as the conversation was shifted from her to another topic, her shoulders relaxing ever so slightly. She never thought she was good enough or worth much, she was only trained to be a killing warrior, an assassin. Nothing more. It was one of the reason she liked being in her hellhound form so much, it was freeing. She could run and do whatever she wanted. Turning her blue-and-amver gaze to Lukas, she asked, "Do you hunt to get blood? From wildlife and all that? I get urges to do that as a wolf, so it would be nice to have someone to go with."

Variella nodded as Rila assured her that it wasn't Variella's fault. She was sure that it was, but it was nice of her to say. She was more interested in the mind link- screw her sorrow, this is magic!
"But Rila, don't dragons live much longer than..." She hesitated, not entirely knowing what Rila was. Was dragon tamer a species?
"Don't dragons live much longer than everything else? Or does the mind meld only happen for a short time?" She asked.

'"I could see why", Timothy chuckled. He then remembered his grandmother taught him how to knit mittens in the past. He looked at her horn, judging it's shape and size. "Y'know", he finally said. "I could knit you something for your horn if you want". He thought for a moment and spoke up again. "Well, if I could get my hands on some knitting equipment here".

Joanne's eyes went wide as she looked around, hearing everything that Cael was saying to her. This place was so amazing to her that she barely believed she was there. She honestly was half-expecting to wake up in her home any moment, the whole thing was something she was very happy she was getting to experience. "That sounds really cool, thanks for bringing me here Cael." Her whole attitude that led to her teasing him a little earlier had shifted into gratitude for him, unsure of why Cael chose to bring her of all people to this place. "Lead the way then, I'll keep up as best I can!" Joanne smiled at Cael and then turned to Kyni, giving her a friendly smile as well.

Amaria smile was huge at this point. She could feel the jitters creeping all over her skin as her horn faintly glowed, a common side effect of intense happiness or really any emotion. "Lavinia is my pet Hippocampus. She is a babe! Sometimes, she will let people ride her! More so girls than guys..." She glanced over at Lukas. "Sorry, darlin'. Vini has a preference. But she maaaayyyy let you! Honestly, depends on her mood." Amaria could hardly contain her excitement. She enjoyed making new friends just as much as she enjoyed painting on rainy days. The young girl was nearly bouncing. "Hunting is cool. I mainly eat kelp and veggies and nuts and berries and that sort of thing. Meat sometimes doesn't sit well with me. Guess that's the unicorn in me. The whole purity and don't be mean to others part." She laughed to, mostly, herself, thinking back briefly to the times she was super judgemental and snarky. "But, doesn't mean it can't happen..." she trailed off. "But, what do you guys want to do? Vini lives in a lake close to here. We can always go see her. Or you know do whatever." Amaria grinned again, her spiral horn glowing even brighter.

Kachina fiddled with the latches of the electrum bracers firmly latched to her wrists and lower arms as she walked. they had been a precaution given to her by the council; a magical item that conceals someone's energies and made them seem no more than a human. Being that Kachina's form was nothing but a solidified tap of arcana, she had appreciated the thought especially since being a caught as a Genasi would more then likely make a few heads turn. However, they were quite uncomfortable but proved to be a very good distraction as Kachina made her way towards the Academy.

To say she was nervous about her first year was an understatement. For all of her walking and active days Kachina had spent her life in the safety of the council's chambers and hideaways, herself and her bottle safe from the hands of those who would seek for a rapid change in their life. Yet she was also excited to finally get to explore the world and meet the people she had only been able to see through orbs and visions. Besides, how else would she gain her rightful title and place among the others of the Genasi council?

Eventually Kachina was able to retrieve herself from her thoughts, just in time to find herself walking through the gates of the Dark Forest Academy and into the open area that soon would lead to the entrance. Smiling, Kachina straightened the many talismans in her hair and smoothed out the wrinkles of her long green and beige gypsy skirt and black turtle neck crop-top. Hands tightly gripping the leather strap of her side satchel, she scanned the area to see a group of students off to the side that at the current time held her interest. Particularly the two gentlemen that seemed caught up in a conversation as they too arrived at the entrance of the Academy. Keeping a slight skip to her step, Kachina made her way over to the group.

As she approached she spoke to them, "Pardon if I am interrupting anything gentlemen, but I couldn't help but notice that you both just arrived as well. I was wondering if either of you were familiar with what to do from this point."

Crootal Reedge Grandi

Crootal's eyes gleamed at the thought of friends after traveling alone for so long. "Yes i'd love to be friends!" as the conversation went on and towards hunting she decided to keep to herself until the topic burnt out considering that she is usually the one being hunted. When Amaria spoke of her hippocampus, Crootal immediately averted her attention to Amaria because she was always very interested in learning about new things and creatures. She couldn't hold back her excitement."You have a hippocampus? ive only ever read of those what colour is she? How long have you two known each other?" Crootal then quickly remembered about her belongings that she left at the edge of the forest. "Hold on before we go I need to get my stuff! I'll be quick I promise!" Crootal extended her wings from her back and stretched them out completely before flapping them as hard as she could to get of the ground quickly and soared to the edge of the forest nearby. She landed gracefully and then proceeded to the tree she hid her belonings. As soon as she grabbed her one duffel bag she took off into the sky again her Crimson-brown wings not faltering for a second. She reached the group again quickly but this time she landed inside the courtyard and dropped her bag next to the gate. "So where did you say she was?" She said to Amaria.

Uerendi returned Joanne's smile and nodded as she thanked him. "This is nothing, really. Not like I'm actually the one doing anything. I'm just the guy who plugged the power cord in. No matter how big the plug." Uerendi's skin and hair took on a pink tinge as he blushed slightly. He was more used to getting adjustments than compliments. It's easy to make mistakes when your the only star in the universe with a face and opposable thumbs.

"Wh-where did Kyni run off to? Kyni?!" Uerendi changed the subject hastily as he tried to reorient his color pallet. Thanks to his unique background, Uerendi was a real "heart on the sleeve" type of person, especially when he literally changed colors or even glowed. Thank god I can't get pregnant. He thought to himself for the umpteenth time. Can I?

Kynthia stayed against her wall, closing her eyes a bit. She didn't want to, but her body decided to lay on the floor and pass out. Kyni never liked to sleep. It always brought back very bad memories, for instance, her first night after the changing.

"Oh Alala! I brought us a friend!" Her mother chirped as she sauntered into the room. She looked very pleased with herself, finally having found someone to do what she called 'The job'. Alala had no idea what she was talking about. It didn't sound very good. "It'll finally happen~!" She sang and Alala winced. That voice always came back to haunt her nightmares. She had the scars to prove the reasons.

Her mother stood very proudly, looking very happy with herself as a very very tall man came in. He was pale, very pale, but not with pure white skin. His skin used to have been a nice tan, but it now held a grey tint that scared Alala. His fangs protruded from his mouth, making them very visible. The mop of curly black hair on his head looked like it hadn't been washed in a long time. The bright blue eyes however, they made Alala melt a little bit inside. They were beautiful! Nothing like that could belong to this sinister looking man!

"Is this her?" The man asked in an almost growl, while Alala's mother nodded happily. "Work your magic!" The man took several steps towards Alala and the young girl shied away. He smirked and lifted up her chin with a single finger. "She'll do nicely." The reply made her mother squeal in delight, clapping her hands.

The happy mood for her didn't last, because the man was on her in a second. He pinned her down and began to attack her neck with his fangs. Her mother screamed in pain and terror as he skin began to pale, but Alala was frozen in horror. It took her several moments for her to begin running.

She ran as fast as she could, barely able to focus through the blinding fear. There was a cold feeling behind her and the man was at her side. "Now don't run, love... You are my prize now, aren't you?" Alala skidded to a halt to try and go to other way, but his hand grasped her wrist. He was frozen without a trace of heat. "NO!" Alala sobbed as he pulled her closer and stroked her head. No matter how hard she tried to struggle, he bent down and those fangs pierced her skin. However, her blood wasn't being drained... Something was being injected. It burned more than anything she'd felt before, and Alala screamed and sobbed in terror as the man cooed encouragement to her as her vision began to go black. The last things she saw were those bright blue eyes.

Kynthia jerked away, eyes wide and body covered in sweat. She made no noise other than a pitiful whimper before sitting up and pulling her knees to her chest to hide. It happened very often, the vivid memories. She tried to bury them during the night, but during the day it was really no use. With the sun out, she usually slept. Here she needed several added layers of cloth and her hat to even allow her out for a small time. At least the layers made her feel far more safe than just a tee-shirt.

She nodded, "That could work at least until I learn control over it. Maybe you could knot me some gloves as well." She turned and began walking stopping at a door, "And we are here..." She opened the door and walked in the smell of books filled her nose and she smiled, "I love this place..." Her mind drifted to the books she was wanting as she thought about them. She turned down a row and wasn't paying attention, until she ran into something hanging above her head. "Ow..." she said jerking back and holding her horn. It thankfully had no effect on her, she rubbed around the horn and looked up to see what she had walked into. Alias Alias SadSnake SadSnake

The face of his new acquaintance was always composed. He can appreciate an art when he sees one, and the control of Li Yuan was one to deserve it. He turned his attention the building towering in front of him. A certainly remarkable property, but he expected no less from a place made to accommodate more than a hundred young magic users. A group of youngsters in one building would be bad enough, throw in a decent amount of magic, and the teachers would be hard pressed to keep the peace and rules. At least the walls were made of stone.

Hearing what his senior thought about witches made him chuckle. It was an ancient and superstitious description of witches; He never met a single witch dressed that way.
"I did have a black cat, but he was more of a friend than a pet, " just after Li Yuan explained how the first day of school usually started, a young girl approached them, asking for the exact same thing he had been told. To avoid the need for his new friend to explain something twice, Triage replied before he had the chance to answer. "As a matter of fact, we need to wait until they have distributed our schedule first, " he turned back to Li Yuan with an apologetic smile. "It had been a pleasure, but I think I want to explore a bit by myself, " he gave him a small bow to assure him he meant no offence.

After a similar gesture toward the girl, he left the two of them and entered the academy.

The library seemed empty, which wasn't exactly surprising, given that classes hadn't started yet. Still, there were a few beings milling about.

Bethany looked over the books, interested to see what they had. Balthazar's On Shadowmancy? The real deal, not just a commentary? The redhead let out a low whistle. There were only a handful of copies in the Multiverse- for the Academy to have one must have been the crown jewel of their collection. She took the heavy leather tome off the shelf and sat down next to a dragon-looking student. "Hey there," she commented.

Thauvin didn't even realise Launet ran in his feet. As he felt his head started spinning, Thauvin started to loose his balance, and fell down face first from the shelf. He sat down, saw the people around him, and tried to say something, but the only thing that came out of his mouth was a confused groan. His book fell on the ground, and the pages spread out of the book and onto the floor. He was too confused and surprised to think anything apart from: what's going on?
