Dark Escape [SC & Kawashima Thunder]

Nicole smiled briefly. However, the thought of the argument she had with her Dad made her sad. However, her backache went away. "It's better now. Thanks." Although she was happy that her back felt more relieved, her unhappy thoughts ended up forcing a mood swing. When she laid back down and turned to her side, facing away from Jason, she started crying.

Jason nodded, putting his glasses aside and climbing under the covers again, sighing quietly. He lay quietly for a little, though looked over at her, sitting up a bit. "...hey, you alright?" he asked quietly, running a hand through his hair. After a moment of hesitation, he moved a bit closer to her, wrapping his arms around her. "Uh, it's alright... we're going to be married tomorrow. Isn't that exciting? We'll get to spend the rest of our lives together. And... with our kid, too..."

She wiped her eyes with her sleeve before relaxing herself into his embrace. When she felt him wrap her arms around her, she rubbed her forehead against his cheek. After a few minutes, she would be fast asleep, resting on her arm with her free hand to hold her belly. Luckily for Jason, Nicole was a quiet sleeper, so she didn't snore or anything.

Jason lay quietly, shifting a bit when he realized she was asleep. He sighed quietly, closing his eyes and relaxing as much as he could. The fact that he could never sleep easily was a burden to him, and it was an issue he had for his entire life. For at least half an hour, although it felt like longer to him, he lay in bed quietly, still awake. After some time, he finally began to drift off to sleep, pulling the blanket up a bit more.

Unlike Jason, Nicole woke up on her own. Sadly, the sun had was just rising. Normally, Nicole would wake up on her own, but today, on her very special day, she would wake up screaming. Although she seemed to have slept peacefully through the night, her facial expression upon awakening said otherwise. She seemed scared, flushed and pale. She was also breathing heavily as she held her belly in a protective manner...

Jason straightened up when she began screaming, his eyes wide and confused. "What- what's wrong, are you okay?" he asked, sitting up quickly and reaching for his glasses. Putting them on, he stared down at her, frowning. "Are you okay? What happened?" he glanced over at the clock for a moment, sighing quietly. "God, you almost gave me a heart attack..." he muttered, running a hand through his hair. He looked down at her, concern etched on his face. "What's wrong? Did you have a bad dream?"

"Yeah...I had a nightmare...It wasn't pretty." she said with a sad tone of voice. Next to the wedding that was in a couple of hours, one more thing on Nicole's mind was her baby. Despite it being a nightmare, her dream was also vivid. At the same time, she got a little protective of herself. Was pregnancy making her paranoid? Probably. She leaned back on her pillows before removing one that was in between her legs last night and putting it on her lap. "Well...I also just wish my Dad would accept my child..." she began cradling her belly after she let down her hair, taking off a hair tie. She let out a deep sigh before she relaxed herself.

"I'm sure he will... just give him some time, you know? Anyways, let's focus on the wedding, alright? It was just a dream." Jason frowned, lying back again and sighing quietly. "Well... I might as well go get ready. I have go make sure everything's in order for the wedding in a few hours..." he mumbled, getting to his feet. "I'll go make us breakfast, alright?" he said, leaning over to kiss her forehead, before walking out of their bedroom and heading downstairs to the kitchen to get started on breakfast.

Well, that was comforting, she thought. After a couple more minutes, she walked into the bathroom to shower up, wanting to feel refreshed rather then exhausted, tired and uncomfortable. Afterwards, she grabbed her phone to text her bridesmaids that she will be meeting up with them soon so she can put on her wedding dress, do her hair, etc. Although lacking confidence in her looks, mainly because she felt 'fat' and was still fretting over the fact that couldn't fit into her pants, Nicole was still happy that it was her special day. After doing her hair, she tried on her 'pre-wedding' dress. Since she had two hours before it was time to go get ready for the wedding and, not wanting to dirty her pre-wedding dress, she took it off and put on her robe before joining her groom downstairs.

Jason was cooking quietly downstairs, sipping at a cup of coffee. He was putting their breakfast on plates for them when she came down, and glanced back at her for a moment. "You look beautiful, you know. I mean, you'll look even better in your dress, I bet. But you look wonderful right now, as well." he said, carrying their food into the dining room. He smiled back at her, though his mind was elsewhere. The main thing that was running through his mind was how badly he needed a cigarette, though he'd probably wait until he was away from Nicole before doing so. He sat down, his coffee in one hand as he thought, though he looked up at her again after a few moments. "Everything's ready. We're getting married today... kind of hard to take in, you know?" Of course it was hard to take in for him. Although everything happened over the span of a couple years, he couldn't help but feel like everything was sudden, that things were moving too quickly.

After breakfast, Nicole decided to relax with her husband-to-be in the living room. Last night, she had smelt Cigarette on him, but didn't say anything because she didn't want to put stress on herself for the sake of the baby. While holding his hand and laying on his shoulder, she looked into his eyes. "Honey, can you promise me something?"

He ate breakfast quietly, cleaning up the kitchen a little once he was done eating, before sitting down on the couch. He was quiet, checking the time every so often. There was plenty of time before he had to leave for the wedding, so he would probably just relax for a while. Jason looked over at her when she sat down beside him, sitting up a bit. "Yeah, uh... okay. What is it?" he asked quietly, pushing his glasses back up his nose.

"After today, the smoking needs to stop." Nicole did not like how Jason was consistently smoking, but she decided to put up with it because there was already enough on her mind as it was; until the end of today, there was her wedding and for the next two months, it was her baby. "Now I'm not necessarily mad, I just want what's best for you, me and our child." With her hormones jumping around, she really hoped that her mood swings would not jump in, because it'd kill the mood she was currently in now and the moment of intimacy that she was about to have. She was also thinking about the vivid dream she had about her baby. While it did trouble her, she didn't think about it too much, because after all, it was just a dream and there was no need to fret over something that isn't necessarily real.

Jason stared down at her blankly for a few long moments, piecing together how he'd respond. He didn't want to upset her, of course, and it wasn't like him to cause unnecessary drama. With a sigh, he ran a hand through his hair, in thought. "Well, I mean..." he hesitated for a moment, sitting up a bit. "...I don't smoke near the house, and I would never smoke around you, especially when you're pregnant. And I hardly smoke at all, a couple cigarettes a day and that's it-- uh, what I mean is, I can't just suddenly stop. That's not really a thing you can do when it comes to this stuff. Quit cold turkey, and you'll probably end up going back to it... that, and withdrawal, and I don't think that'd be a very pleasant thing to deal with during our honeymoon. I'll try, alright?"

At his response, she had a fairly stern look on her face, but loosened up a bit since he was willing to try. "Alright. But if I smell it on you again after today, whether its on your clothes or in your breath, don't expect me to be happy about it." The reason why Nicole was not too fond of smoking was because her Grandfather died of Cancer and Liver Disease when she was eight years old, which was a long time ago. Although she didn't really mind, since he normally took outside, she was more or so worried about how it would affect her baby, hence why she tries to stay away from it and especially not inhale it due to how dangerous it could be for the unborn child. Although she tried not to think about it, she began thinking about all the bad things that can happen to her baby: Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, which she feared the most, Low Birth Weight and Premature Birth among other health issues that her baby could suffer from. While thinking about all of it, she went from looking at her fiance to looking down at her belly, where she felt kicking and movement. Although she wanted to smile, she couldn't exactly do so because of all the current negative thoughts she had in her mind.

He frowned slightly, in thought for a few moments as he stared down at her, before sighing. "Oh, are you worried about the baby? Listen, if I don't smoke near you, there's no problem. It's second-hand smoke you're worried about, not me smoking an hour before we even come near each other. It's really not much of a danger to the baby -- you're the pregnant one, not me." Jason paused for a moment, sitting up a little. "But, yeah, I'll try to, okay? If you want me to stop, I'll at least do that much for you."

Nicole was to an extent satisfied. But she still didn't want him smoking behind her back either. However, she also felt a little hurt because she felt like Jason had little interest in their child, but took into the consideration that he was also overwhelmed. "You know I love you...a lot. I just...Hope you aren't thinking of our marriage as an obligation just because I am having a baby. To me, when you proposed, it was an act of love. I do...I just wasn't expecting it to be so soon, you know?" She held his hand, interlocking her fingers with his. "I know we're both overwhelmed, but we should both be happy. We're getting married and having our first child." She brightened up. "It's not often a Groom gets to wed with an expecting bride."

He stared down at her quietly, sitting back a bit. The more he thought about it, the more he became convinced that his proposing wasn't an act of love. While he did love her, he wasn't sure if he would have proposed to her if she hadn't become pregnant -- maybe sometime down the road, but the subject of marriage really never came to mind for him. Still, after a few moments of hesitation, he nodded, leaning over to kiss her lightly. "Yeah... it's great. We're getting married today, and two months from now we'll have a kid... it's so exciting."

Judging by his tone of voice, Nicole started feeling hurt and semi-heartbroken. With one of her mood swings about to settle in, which didn't exactly help, she began wondering if he really loved her, but deep down in her heart, she loved him deeply. She then looked down at her stomach, then closed her eyes and cradled her unborn child.

Jason frowned down at her, in thought for a few moments, before checking the time. "Speaking of wedding, I'd better go get ready. I have to go make sure everything's set up in a few hours." he said, leaning over to kiss her forehead before getting to his feet. For a moment, he stared at her, though quickly made his way upstairs to clean up and get changed into his tuxedo.

Since she left her Wedding Dress in the hands of her Bridesmaids, Nicole got back into the 'pre-wedding' dress that she tried earlier that morning. She didn't put any make-up on since her Bridesmaids were going to that anyway. Rather then putting on High Heels, she decided to put on a pair of slippers. She was ready before Jason, so she waited downstairs by the front door. When she felt her baby kicking again. Because she didn't want him kicking during the wedding since it's impair her focus to on the wedding, she tried now to calm him down by holding her belly. "Oh c'mon, now's not the best time to be kicking and moving around. Mommy's gotta get ready for her wedding." She smiled before checking her purse to make sure she had everything in order. Which she did.

He showered and shaved, going through his usual morning routine. Then, he put on his tuxedo, adjusting it constantly as he made his way back downstairs. "Alright, I'm ready. Got everything?" he asked, looking over at her. Jason paused for a moment, before smiling at her. "You look beautiful, by the way. You look great in that dress." he said, pushing his glasses back up his nose. "Now... let's go get married, I guess. It starts in a few hours..." he said, checking the time, before approaching her to give her a light kiss.

"Oh, you're flattering me." Nicole smiled at his comment. During the car ride, Nicole could only think of two things: the wedding and her baby. Sadly, her little one was consistently kicking. Whether he was in a good mood of not, she did not know, but surely he recognized his Mother's Voice. What Nicole was unsure about was if he recognized his Father's voice. Although it worried her deeply, she decided to save it for the honeymoon.

Jason was quiet as he drove, his eyes focused on the road. His mind wandered a bit as he drove, occasionally thinking about how much he needed a cigarette at that moment. Other things he thought about were the wedding, the honeymoon and the baby, and just how anxious he felt about it all. When they arrived at their destination, he sat up, running a hand through his hair. At least he could put some distance between him and his fiancée and take care of the cigarette problem, he thought as he got out of the car.

Upon getting out of the car, Nicole noticed that Jason was smoking. However, today was the last day, so she didn't fret over it. Instead she went into the church and got together with her Bridesmaids to prepare for the ceremony. There was a lot on her to do list: Getting the Dress on, doing her hair and, if possible, calming the baby so his Mother can focus on the Ceremony.
