Realistic or Modern Dark Circus

Gwen set down her cage as she looked around. She brought her hand down to the door and opened it her carousel magically appearing in the center of the stage. It was a full sized carousel yet it fit in such a small cage. Her smile widened as the carousel lit up and began to spin in a slow pace. She hopped on the saddle of her favorite stallion, Mochi. He then sprung to life and she was upon the back of a large white majestic horse

Gwen nudged him into a steady canter as she began to do tricks such as balancing on the saddle with only her hands or spinning around while only her hands were on the saddles handles. She then stood up as her horse picked up speed and then she placed her hands on the main saddle ring and then she picked up her legs and was in a perfect handstand on her horse
((I now know it's very hard to type while you are trying to eat Chinese food xD ))

The man had dozed off into a quiet sleep by the time the show began. The fair grounds were calmer, most of the people being inside. An occasional summer breeze would roll past the tent flaps and blow at the sleeping man's hair. He turned over in his sleep to the face away from the opening.

Outside the tent, a pair of footsteps approached.

"What do you think's in there?" Asked a voice, hushed. It belonged to a lanky teenaged boy. He pushed a strand of greasy hair out of his face as he looked down at his shorter friend, who looked about the same age as him.

"Dunno. Only one way to find out." The two crept closer, stopping to look at the sign.

"Maybe we shouldn't..."

"Nah, don't be a pussy. They just put those things up to scare people." The shorter boy slipped inside, his lanky friend hesitantly following him. They approached the cage inside, and the shorter read the sign posted on his aloud.

"The Incredible Wild Wolf Man. Pftt. Yeah, some wolf man. That's just some guy in a cage." He smirked at the man through the bars. The wolf man stirred, opening his golden eyes and turning towards the voice. He startled when he saw the smug face leering at him.

The wild man quickly got up from his nest and snarled.

"Ah jeez, put some clothes on, man," The boy looked away. The other, taller one came forward a little.

"So why do they call you the wolf man? You don't look very...wolfy."

"That's because this place is a cheap piece of shit, Lenny. Couldn't even bother to buy a werewolf costume." The other boy said, leaning down to the ground to pick of a rock. "Hey! Stop that growling, you ain't scary!" He threw the rock at the cage, making it bounce off the bars with a loud clang. The man in the cage gave another loud snarl, his body starting to shift a little. Fur began to grow from his arms, legs, and torso. The tall boy, Lenny, noticed.

"Hey check that out, Ted. Do it again!" He grinned as he picked up a bucket from a supply cart and hurled it at the cage. It made another loud clang. The wolf man grew more agitated. He paced in his cage, starting to look more like an animal then a man. The two boys began picking up anything they could to throw. Most of it pinged off the bars, but some slipped through and hit the man. When a rock came flying at his head, the wolf man finally lost it. A deafening roar tore through the air, and the man's form grew and shifted into something much more dangerous. A giant wolf soon took his place.

The creature lunged forward, growling viciously at its jaws wrapped around the bars and began to tear at them. The two boys yelped, Ted falling back onto his butt. Lenny's eyes were wide with fright as he pulled out his pocket knife. The wolf took a step back, then charged forward again the ram the cage door with his head. The door flew open, the lock busting in two. The giant wolf lunged at the boy on the ground, jaws opened. Lenny acted fast and plunged his pocket knife into the creature's side, making it yelp. It turned its angry eyes on him, and he knew he was in trouble.

Lenny turned and ran, screaming at the top of his lungs. The wolf charged after him, jaws snapping at the air. The boy ran for the big top, hoping the hide among the crowd. The wolf barreled in after him, but the loud cheering, clapping, and bustle of people startled him. He leaped over the stands, soaring over the patron's heads, and landed right in the middle of the ring. His fur bristled as he growled at the preforming girl and her horses. The pocket knife barely stuck out of his side, burred to the hilt into his flesh, a trail of blood leaking down his fur. He was scared, confused, hurt, and most of all, angry.

The crowd grasped and screamed at the sight, but after a few seconds gave a round of applause. They thought this was part of the show.

Michael hears the commotion and darts over to the big top, he darts inside and sees the wolf man,

"Crap!" He remarks to himself before darting out into the middle of the ring, he had to play this off as part of the show,

"And now, for wolf taming!" He says as he grabs a convenient nearby whip.

Cecila looked at Michael in annoyance as she took matters into her own hand and stalked into the center ring, waving her hands curtains fell down. "We will be taking a short intermission since it seems two young men don't seem to know when to keep out of things that don't belong to them." She said as her eyes seemed to glow while staring down the two boys who had disrupted her show. Slowly making her way over to the wolf, she put up her hands to show she meant no harm, and pulled the pocket knife out swiftly before jumping back. "I suggest that whoever this belongs too, gets the hell off my circus property before I press charges for hurting and disrupting my staff." She snapped as flames seemed to snap around the ring.

The wolf turned in a circle as a man entered the ring, carrying a whip. His ears pinned back as his fangs were bared. The massive creature clearly didn't like the man's choice in tools. He took a step back, towards the tent's exit. Then the boss woman appeared. As she approached him, the wolf gave her a growl as well, for good measure. As she placed her hand on the knife, he startled and snapped at her, missing and yelping as the blade was pulled free.

The creature tucked his tail between his legs and whimpered as he slunk out of the tent to find somewhere to hide. His blind fit of rage was slowly lifting, and with the knife removed from his side, his wound was bleeding freely. The large canine lumbered off behind the tent and plopped down on the grass to try and lick his wound.

Cecila looked at Michael darkly. "Go find Rayleigh and stay with her. Next time you interfere, you'll be banned from all performances." she hissed in annoyance before going off to find him. She didn't have to look long since she could easily appear anywhere she wanted. She finally found him behind the tent and slowly walked over, putting her hands up carefully again to show she meant no harm as she had bandages and some meat.

The wolf turned his head to give the ringmaster a pointed look. He didn't want her help, but he knew he needed it. He was a stubborn creature, but he wasn't stupid. The wolf turned back around and began to shift again. Soon, a human man sat on the ground in it's place. He sat on his knees and held a hand over the wound in his side, right under his ribs. It looked a lot worse without all the fur covering it. Blood seeped between his fingers as he clenched his teeth. His shoulders rose as fell as he took slow, labored breathed in attempt to ease the pain.

Finally, he looked back at the woman again, acknowledging that she was still there. He slowly moved his hand from his wound and placed it on the ground in front of him to help keep him stable. He didn't growl or try to run, which was an improvement from his typical behavior. The man let her get closer without a fuss.

Michael tosses the whip away, he walks off with a sigh, That was idiotic of me, why didn't I just let her do her job? He swears at himself as he searches around. Michael finds Ray after a couple of minutes and walks up to her,

"Hello." He says quietly, he's still embarrassed after what he did.

Cecila slowly knelt down beside him and looked at the wound before dabbing it with some gauze. "...I'm sorry about those imbecile boys... Quite honestly I should have more workers around keeping an eye on things to keep my performers safe... It completely slipped my mind that you were in your tent alone. Sorry..." she said while lightly wrapping the bandages around the wound. (@Stew)

Michael sighs,

"Listen, ok, I don't want us to poke fun of each other right now. I've had an embarrassing evening." He rubs the back of his neck.

The man jerked away a bit when she dabbed the wound, letting out an small, unintentional growl. It hurt. It hurt a lot. He braced himself and let her wrap the injury without trying to take any fingers off. He didn't respond as she spoke, seeming to still be giving her and everyone else the cold shoulder.

When she was done, the man slowly tried to stand. He took a stumble forward before falling back into the grass on his knees. He felt woozy, probably from the amount of blood he'd lost. The injury would take more than gauze and tape to fix; he would probably need stitches.

Cecila noticed this but didn't seem to mind. "I would stitch it myself... but I figured you wouldn't want me or anyone else touching you since you don't really like it." she said while getting up herself and dusting off her pants slightly. "However if you want me too... Just howl I guess?" she said and put down the piece of meat she brought. (@Stew)

He looked up, eyes tinged with fear. Was she leaving? He didn't want to be left here alone, hurt, just waiting to be attacked again. The man debated. On one hand, he could let her go and maybe crawl back to his tent to rot in peace, but on the other hand, that really didn't sound like a very good option. He quickly made up his mind when she turned to leave.

"Wait," He croaked, his voice rough from the lack of use. How long had it been since he had spoken actual words? He met her eyes, his fear showing in his own. He may not have been a big fan of people, but he didn't want to be alone. What if he kept bleeding? What if he needed her help?

Michael groans,

"Yes, also not to mention that I've been having a rather bad time here lately. I haven't been getting as many shows, people are dying. Why am I still even here?" He asks, to be honest, Michael was expecting a sarcastic reply.

Cecila blinks and looks over her shoulder, eyes locking on his. "What is it?" she asked calmly while turning slightly to face him. "Did you... need help with something?" she asked while the gold ring around her pupils seemed to glow again as she looked at him curiously. (@Stew)

Michael sighs,

"I guess so." He tilts his hat back again, Why won't it stay up? He thinks to himself.

Rayleigh blinks and reaches up slightly to fix his hat slightly so that it stays. "There..." she said while looking at him slightly before dropping back onto the flats of her feet.

Michael smiles,

"Thanks." He tucks his cane beneath his arm,

"To be honest, I don't know why we fight, you're actually a good person." He sighs.

Michael adjusts his suit and then takes the cane out from under his arm,

"Where do you think we're heading after this?" He asks her, hoping she would have an answer.

Rayleigh shook her head. "I... think we're headed for Miami." she said while looking at him. "At least that's what Cecila told me." she added while walking with him.

Michael chuckles,

"Remember that one time we went to that beach and I got sunburned? I snapped at anyone who tried to get near me." He laughs at the memory.
