hi, friends. i'm returning to rpnation after a looong hiatus. my roleplay muscles are beginning to atrophy, so i'm in search of any kind souls willing to bear with me and my little bit of rustiness ⭑​

• dani (daniel / dan) 29. any pronouns.​

• not comfortable rp'ing w anyone who isn't 21+ srry.​

• lazy lit / adv lit — usually 3+ paragraphs (500-2k words) and i tend to mirror, but quality > quantity. as long as we're giving each other something to work with and having fun, i don't care about reply length. ​

• prefer rpn for rp itself (no character limit) and discord for ooc/off site things.​

• EST. online later in the day, typically. ​

• expect replies around twice a week. i am a full time adult with irl responsibilities so please be patient with me ty ily.​

• only m// && canon/canon – i could be persuaded to double within canon, but i am not interested in ocs. **​

• prefer things to lean towards character driven rather than plot driven, with a primary focus on the romantic elements (but i do love a slow burn, there is no rush) ​

• ooc chat friendly ! it's important that we vibe. rp writing is all about teamwork, after all. the planning process is half the fun ! ask me questions, give me your ideas – and if you get bored or uninspired, we can work together to change directions, just lmk. ​

[ i'm still working through the anime/manga. currently on season 7 and ch 251]

— interested in timeskip pro hero era. perhaps the boys are forced to partner up on missions / are connected somehow through a villain's quirk / in general navigating their fraught relationship while still respecting each other's strength.

— pro hero katsuki x hero teacher deku [ i've seen spoilers for 431 but obviously i'm not caught up completely ]

— i'm also embarrassingly craving flower shop AU for these two? which is weird because i typically find fluffy/slice of life settings boring but sigh........these boys have a stranglehold on me.....

• star wars

— i prefer to play anakin, although i wouldn't mind doubling if you'd like an obi-wan. going on missions together clone wars era style, perhaps? for these two, i am interested in practically anything / everything.

• marvel
[ steve/bucky ] [ tony/peter ]
— i love stucky in all eras/timelines, but particularly post caws where bucky is still fighting his programming and they're both on the run.

— for starker i like aus where tony doesn't know peter's identity as a superhero. the classic meeting at a gala, and peter's very much the fish out of water. but i'm also open to more canon ideas.

• sonic the hedgehog

— i'm familiar with their dynamic through cultural osmosis [ i haven't played any games or watched the shows orz ] but i'm still willing to try them out if anyone wants to hold my hand,,

• homestuck

— i haven't reread hs in a thousand years, but i love davekat and their dynamic.

— this is a bit of a rarepair these days, but if anyone's willing i would love you always.

• the raven cycle

— finished the main series, and i've just started call down the hawk. rp could take place at any point in the main series timeline. i love adam and will abuse the tendency for his accent to slip out.

• transformers
[ rodimus/drift ] [ rodimus/megatron ]

— i can never find partners for the idw mtmte comics........please i just want these robots to kiss.

aus

[ loose ideas for roles and alternate universes that i'd be happy to drop any cxc pairing into if you're not interested in canon. all open to discussion / brainstorming. ]

• medieval
[ knight/prince ] [ knight/captain ] [ knight/sorcerer ]
— so playing chivalrous knights is my guilty pleasure, but this of course wouldn't limit whatever role you play opposite. perhaps they're on a journey together? whether that's forced or there's a curse to be broken, or they're on a secret, planned escape. surely there are other kingdoms to sneak into for any number of dangerous reasons. there's holy quests to heed the call of. i just love all these types of low fantasy tropes.

• space/cyberpunk sci-fi
[ bounty hunters ] [ mercenaries ] [ captain/second in command ] [ android/mechanic ]
— cowboy bebop / star wars / firefly -esque. lots of possibilities to play around with.

running from the law, stealing high tech weaponry, breaking each other out of prison etc etc. or maybe hired to kill each other only to end up on the same side? a good ol' space crew running odd jobs. criminals in the same underground rings. there's so much to explore but it's the nitty-gritty elements to this genre that i love, specifically.

•  western
[ cowboys ] [ outlaw gang members ] [ sheriff / outlaw ]
— post civil war. american south with lots of undeveloped land and lawless areas. rdr2 / bbm -esque in those sweeping, almost lonely ways. there's a lot of high action, or else a lot of quiet nights side by side with a fire going.

** this is the only genre i'd be willing to write against ocs, so long as you don't mind me using a canon character

• pacific rim
[ jaeger pilots ]
— getting into each other's heads. how does their established relationship change as they grow into synced fighters? what threats do the kaiju pose, or are we in the rockstar era where we simply kick ass in giant mechas. what's your downtime look like when you still feel the phantom press of their thoughts against your own? also everyone has cool tattoos.

•  inception
[ professionals within the criminal dreamshare business ]
— chris nolan has a clean aesthetic making all his ocs wear black suits and skinny ties. but there's also a really interesting intimacy in sharing dreams with another person, outside of stealing secrets. what do you find when you travel deep enough into someone else's subconscious? it's a powerful thing to build realities, let alone to do that with the person you're falling in love with.

• spirited away (ghibli)
[ working in a bathhouse for spirits ]
— admittedly this one's a little cozier in atmosphere. but there's room for conflict and tense scenarios with so many powerful entities and magic. i like the ceremony and tradition inherent in the culture from the movie, working in that space would be fun and malleable for plots / character interaction / dynamic.
