Squad141
The Purple Soul
The day that you have both dreaded and almost over-prepared for has come. You and a small handful of others have been selected to be part of the Ultimate High School Talent Festival, one of the finest celebrations held in Japan, with only the best of the best getting an invitation. The festival itself seems nice enough, but you are required to use your talent in some degree to give entertainment and joy to the bored and sometimes despairing hearts of the Tokyo District. Somehow, you had been chosen, and now as you walk into the small set-up tent, the thought of messing up or seeing other Ultimate Talents at play massages your head aggressively.
However, something much more sinister looms within the shadow of the city...
Waking to a fresh nightmare, ripped from the pages of a Stephen King novel, your life has been turned upside down by becoming much more delicate than soon-to-be high-schoolers should have to deal with. With day and night cycles in an unknown location, a vicious mastermind creating a bloodbath of a festival, and betrayal and/or romance lying within those around you, the minds and lives of your classmates are at stake, including your poor, pitiful self.
- RPNation's general rules apply, as per usual. While romance may be a thing, please follow the fade-to-black rule.
- Unlike many games like this or at least in this genre, this story could end very quickly, based on the real-life deduction skills that must be used. This is required because like the original concept of Trigger Happy Havoc, most of the murders will be done in the dark. Here's how this works: During the night cycle, any activity must be directly messaged to me, including any mundane tasks. If someone wishes to murder another, then they simply describe how they do so. If the victim actually is busy with another activity, then I simply say 'the victim is not in their room', or something of the like. The murder can only take place if it's in a place where no one else is, and the murderer is aware of where the victim is. If the victim or their actions are mundane/vulnerable, the murder takes place without a hitch, but if the victim is capable or aware of the murderer, their may be a struggle. This will be elaborated on by myself when someone messages me about murder, which I will then explain as best I can.
- Any rule changes in-game, such as key-cards, e-books, etc. will apply to these rules too, unless stated otherwise.
- In the making of a Class Profile, be aware that other players/characters will be able to see this information. Any secrets or important background elements that should be used for later in the story, should be written down somewhere else or simply hidden. If there any cases of 'Motives', such as dirty secrets or tapes from the characters past, I will ask for such secrets, which will then justly be revealed if the murder is not made, just as in the game.
- If you would like to have a 'secret' conversation with a player, or give them something behind the scenes, be sure that the characters are in a place where no one other classmates could hear them, and start a direct conversation with you, the other player, and me, since cameras watch every action that takes place no matter what. I won't interfere unless absolutely necessary, and will simply watch as plans are set or schemes are made from the prying eyes of justice.
- Like I stated earlier, this game could be long and satisfying, or incredibly short, based on the real circumstances of the murder. If you are killed, fighting back or not, this is a fact that cannot be undone, so please don't moan about it afterwards. I encourage you to make multiple characters if you are worried about this, with a number of two at a maximum.
- This does not take place in the same universe as any of the Danganronpa series, so many of the rules of the series will not apply here.
- If there are any more questions, feel free to message me and ask. I'm always listening, after all. These rules may be changed if a certain question is asked frequently, so check back often to see if your question has been answered already.
