The Magnificent Manbeard
My idea for this is simple -- take locations and characters from the DC Universe and rewrite them for a setting similar to Cyberpunk 2077
However, instead of Night City on the west coast, the story would be centered in Gotham City on the east coast. You can choose existing or original characters, though they would not be traditional superheroes. In this dark world, killing enemies is essential. They are working to take down the gangs and corporate slimeballs that run the city, but are not afraid to shed blood and cyberware to do so.
Many of the corporation heads and corrupt politicians sit in the secretive Court of Owls, such as Lex Luthor, Morgan Edge, Maxwell Lord, Theo Galavan, Carmine Falcone, Malcolm Merlyn, and Bruce Wayne. Though in Wayne's case, he secretly runs the Batcave, an encrypted communications network for vigilante activity. No one knows the true identity of the Batman avatar who runs the Batcave, and since the signal bounces around through multiple VPNs and encrypted relays, there is no way to trace it back to Wayne -- yet.
So, yes, in this version, Batman is purely an online vigilante so as to not compromise his position in the Court. My main character will be Dick Grayson, who is actually Bruce Wayne's son in this version. Born as Thomas Wayne II, Dick became angry at his father's involvement in the corrupt system ruining lives. He eventually faked his own death when he was 13 and fled Gotham, but not before stealing some tech from a Wayne Enterprises warehouse. He spent nearly a decade on the streets of Tokyo, using a variety of aliases and backstories. He learned multiple languages and martial arts techniques while there, as well as installing a number of cyberware enhancements on his body.
After taking down a corporate-backed Yakuza group in Shinjuku, Dick decided it was time to return to Gotham and finally give the same treatment to his father's corrupt organization. He secured a new alias -- Richard Grayson -- and then hopped on a shuttle back to America. Dick has no idea his father is secretly the Batman, and Wayne has no idea his son is still alive.
Your characters are fellow cyberpunk vigilantes Dick recruits for his group. They meet up at an old garage Dick has been using as a base of operations, and then the RP opens with our first mission so we are right into the action. Also adding further onto this, there is not a meta-gene in the same way as traditional DC, instead, characters gain their abilities through various levels of genetic or cybernetic modifications. I also suggest any magical and/or alien characters be reworked as altered humans, unless you can present me with a decent bio to work it into the world. I say that because I'm wanting to keep it centered on Earth at first and not have aliens be known to the general public, yet. I have a plot down the road involving White Martians if we get to that point.
Also, please only reply if you can write well. Proper spelling, grammar, sentence structure, and effective shifting between dialogue and narrative. You should take pride in your artistic work, and craft it to be easily readable by your co-writers.
