Fantasy Cursed Island

"Doors can be broken down," Ellone shook her head, "But a labyrinth full of death is a nearly impassable obstacle."

"Nearly. Even a maze has a path through though. The only surefire way to stop people from getting through someplace is to remove any kind of path."

"Did you find the path?", Ellone pointed out, "The only path in and out of this maze leads to resources I use, only I can open the path forward."

"Quite the opposite," Ellone shook her head, "I've given you multiple opportunities to leave, you refused to take them."

"Because we have no intention of giving up and going back the way we came. We've come way too far to be stopped by a stubborn pixie."

"Well that sounds like a personal problem. It's not my fault you're too stupid to take the opportunity presented."

"Hey!", Jerry looked up at the fairy, "I'm the only one that gets to call them stupid!"

Niudisa glanced at Adran. "So, since we're clearly gonna be here a while, should we just go ahead find space for he tents? I'm sure someone could push these worktables into the hall if needed."

Adran nodded, "Jerry where's the cards?"

"Third puch, left side of my tail, under the journal."

"You let other people read your journal?" Ellone sounded incredulous, but pride wouldn't let her give the group what they wanted to keep them from camping in her workshop.

"Not mine, if one of these idiots can find my journal and can read it, they earned it."

Shuffle looked over from her bundle. "That journal is from my maker."

Emil looked at her. "Which technically makes yours by inheritance."

"Jerry understands it better than I do, so she can have it for now."

"Shuffle can't read," Jerry added, letting Adran fish out the decks of cards to begin setting up a quick and dirty camp. Ellone's furniture was quickly moved to the side and into the halls of the maze to make room, further irritating the crystomancer.

Niudisa smiled as she looked around at the tents being set up. "Ah, almost like home. Shame there's no pools like the last place we spent a week at."

"Assholes," Ellone muttered, fluttering down one of the tunnels and leaving the group.

"Well, now what?", Jerry asked, using Asta's side for support since she couldn't do anything with her leg.

"You need to sit down," Veo pointed Jerry to a chair, "At least until we know what the dragon's doing to your leg."

Niudisa nodded. "Yeah, we're pretty much playing the waiting game. She's the only one who can get us on our way again, so she claims, so we've gotta loiter around her personal space until she actually does so."

Emil spoke up. "Without convincing her to just send the bugs after us again."

"So we gether to let us through," Jerry sighed. "How'd we get you to like us?", she asked Niudisa.

"You called her pretty," Adran shrugged.

"I what?"

Niudisa shook her head. "That extended only to the other Jeri and only as a first impression. I started following you because Jerry having two souls interested me. But I' a necromancer and she's not, so I don't think she'll have the same fascination."

"She sure seemed interested in the dragons," Adran shrugged, "We could probably use that to work her to our side."

"Mm, the question is how. What could we offer her that she'd really want, and how do we make her believe she couldn't get it anywhere else?"

"I don't know," Jerry frowned, "If we- wait," she reached around and fished out Urodor's soul gem, "I was gonna do something with this, but if she's got an interest in dragons and crystals," she shrugged.

"And if she makes some kind of body for him?", Adran pointed out, "She might make something sturdier than what Emera did," the elf looked at Jerry, "And I don't think Jeri and the badge would be able to do that again."

“Well, we won’t actually hand it over until we’re walking out. By the time she can make something, we’ll be long gone.”

Jerry was a little hesitant on that front, "I kinda need him, though." She looked down at the rock. "My mana pool's tiny." Jerry's pool had actually grown as she merged with more of Jeri, but not enough that Jerry felt she had a buffer for if something went wrong with her runework or any items that used mana.

"Hm, he is still useful on that front..."

Shuffle spoke up. "If she came with us, we wouldn't have to give up the gem. She can just borrow it when Jerry doesn't need it."
