Fantasy Cursed Island

The fairy fluttered over to the blob, handing over the mesh box of cores. "Go back to your hoard," she instructed the mimic, sending it back to the treasure room. She shook her head and moved the barrier around to block Shuffle from following the mimic. "And you," she looked at Shuffle, "Sit down, shut up."

Shuffle shook her head as she recovered from the hit before looking at the fairy. She was about to give a burst of fire, but Fia's talons clamped Shuffle's muzzle shut, so she just puff a little flame out her nose. Fia looked at the fairy, still holding Shuffle's face. "Sorry, she's been really moody lately."

The fairy scowled and allocated a crystal to project a shield between herself and Shuffle's mouth. "Who's golem is this?", she demanded, "And why is she so poorly controlled?"

"She's Awakened, and her maker is dead," Adran sighed, "She's crazy, she can't help it."

"And that's putting it nicely." Niudisa shook her head before looking at the other fairy. "What kind of magic is that? It doesn't look like typical elemental magic."

"Of course not," the fairy crossed her arms and rolled her eyes, "It's crystokinesis." Manipulation of crystals. "Every one of my crystals does something different, and I can control them all." She realized as soon as she'd said that that she'd already said too much and clammed up immediately.

Niudisa grinned. "Glad I'm not the only one with that weakness. Not many people to talk to down here, huh?"

"That's not true, shut up."

"Hey, there ain't no shame in that," Adran shrugged, "I mean, look at us. Do we look like individuals with healthy social lives?" There wasn't anyone in the party that was completely psychologically healthy after so much time in the ruins. He was already messed in the head before entering the ruins, demons weren't a habit of healthy people.

Niudisa glanced at the group. "Believe it or not, I'm usually a loner myself. But down here it's better to stick with a group."

Fia finally let go of Shuffle's muzzle, slowly at first in case she needed to grab her again. Once it was clear Shuffle wasn't about to attack anyone, she put her foot down.

"You think so," the fairy grumbled, "Groups only get killed, just wait and see."

"We've lasted this long," Veo muttered.

Niudisa nodded. "Yeah, this place has tried, what, five times now? And that's just since I've joined."

Shuffle huffed. "We can do anything." She sounded significantly less ecstatic than the times she'd said that before.

"It is not difficult to remain alive with a strong party," Joanne agreed. "Most days, that is."

The fairy crossed her arms, "Then you dumbasses got lucky."

"Hey, we're stupid, but only two people get to call us dumbasses," Emfa protested. And those two people were Niudisa and Jerry. Niudisa because she was smarter than most of them, and Jerry because... the party earned that insult.

Niudisa nodded. "Namely the ones who aren't stupid. Just forgetful. Which reminds me, I need to make an antidote." She looked around for a bug to squash.

There were no bugs in the vicinity, but there were the remains of all the little ones that had been killed littering the floor and tables.

That would do. Niudisa fluttered down with a vial and her magic hands to salvage as much venom as she could from the remains. After that, she set up her portable work table off to the side wherever she could find space.

The fairy followed Niudisa, intrigued as to what Niudisa was doing. "I remember when my workshop was mobile." Back before her party was dead and she had a pack animal that could hold her workshop.

“This one’s new for me. I brought a small alchemy setup down here and picked this up along the way.”

“Found it in a deck of cards a ways back. A whole furniture set, even. No one else here does much alchemy, so I just kept this for myself.”

"huh," the fairy watched Niudisa work for a moment, "I had an amosadon pulling a cart with a workshop on the back. Creepy ass goblin killed him."

"Hey," Beri hissed, "That creepy ass goblin's granddaughter is with us," he pointed at Lyak on Nalla's back.

Raine spoke up without even lifting her head. “He was pretty creepy though....”

Niudisa glanced at the fairy. “Sounds like you took the same route as us.”

"Is there any other form of route?", the fairy raised an eyebrow, "How'd you get past the tarrasques?"

“With a boat.”

Corona crossed her arms. “I’m beginning feel like Misery was messing with me when I found the other path...”

The fairy found that hilarious, "You think the goddess of chaos was messing with you? Gods are always messing with mortals! That's why intellectuals don't like them!"

“Mm, but the thing about Misery is that sometimes she isn’t messing with me. Sometimes she’s actually looking out for me. I just never really know which is which until much later.”

The fairy just shook her head, "When it comes to dealings with celestials, fiends, archfey, and gods, always assume you are being messed with. You'll live longer."
