Fantasy Cursed Island

"Shuffle!", Jerry barked, thrashing out from under Shuffle. Jerry being somewhat larger than Shuffle enabled her to roll the two around, though she screamed when they rolled right over the edge into a pool. Jerry was still wearing her Necklace of Adaptation and Shuffle had gills, so neither were in danger of drowning.

In the water, Shuffle had an advantage with her tail fins, at least for mobility. She tried turning them over further in hopes that she could somehow get a better grip.

In the water, it was much harder to keep a grip on Jerry, and with all the tumbling around, Jerry managed to get free and started using her wings and tail to swim and get out of the water.

Shuffle was still spinning as Jerry got free, so that gave her a head start. She'd only just made it out of the water before Shuffle jumping out after her, grabbing onto Jerry's tail as she landed.

Jerry's tail had a lot of nerves going through it. When it was growing, it was even more sensitive as raw flesh, sending pain shooting up Jerry's spine when it was touched. Now with skin and scales, those nerve clusters served to make the flexible tip of Jerry's tail highly sensitive. Once Shuffle's hands wrapped around and got a solid grip, Jerry folded like a card house. Knees and elbows hit the floor, and Jerry just about bit through her tongue, shaking like a leaf.

Shuffle smiled as she finally had something to grip. She got her feet back under herself before starting to head back towards the ladies' pool with Jerry's tail in hand.

Jerry, in spite of her best efforts, was successfully dragged kicking and screaming back up towards the ladies' pool. About halfway back up, Jerry collapsed, exhausted and unable to continue fighting right up until she was dunked in the pool as Shuffle dragged her in.

"Are you hurt?", Joanne asked.

"Just my pride...", Jerry sank up to her eyes in the water, getting as far away from Shuffle as possible in the pool.

Once Jerry was successfully deposited in the pool, Shuffle sat back down, looking quite pleased. "You said what I had to do, so I did it."

Niudisa snickered. "Well done, Shuffle."

A rock from the bottom of the pool bounced off of stone near Niudisa's head. Jerry scowled, she missed.

Niudisa looked at Jerry with a smile. “Hey, hey. No attacking your allies. I’ve been scolded for that one before.”

"I missed, didn't I?", Jerry growled.

"You need to calm down." Joanne crossed her arms, "You and-"

"Thank, you, Peanut Gallery."

Erina spoke up. “You are overreacting just a little bit. You know how Shuffle is. Though it would help if someone wouldn’t tease.”

Niudisa shrugged. “All I did was congratulate Shuffle on what she believes is a job well done. I’m being a supportive member of the party.”

If looks could kill, Jerry would be surrounded by corpses and a newly reborn Fia. "She tackled me and dragged me halfway up the spring by my tail!", Jerry's eye twitched, "I think I can be a little pissed."

Erina nodded. “Yes, that’s fair. Just try not to kill anyone. We’re all needed here.”

Shuffle tilted her head. “But you said if I dragged you kicking and screaming you’d join us.”

Jerry's face turned red as she stood up out of the almost screaming, not realizing she'd just exposed herself, "THAT WAS RHETORICAL YOU LITTLE-" Joanne kicked Jerry's legs out from under her so she'd fall in the water and stop shouting at Shuffle.

Shuffle put her ears back and shrank into the water a bit, though one could see she was a little confused. Corona spoke up to clarify. “She didn’t mean for you to actually drag her. It’s just an expression.”

Shuffle blinked. “O-oh...”

"That still does not excuse her behavior," Joanne added, shaking her head, "I think it would be best if you two remained separate for a time."

"Fine by me!", Jerry barked once she'd gotten up, storming out of the pool.

"The laundry isn't-"

"I have a mimic!", Jerry cut Veo off and left the pools entirely.

----------------
"I don't think I've ever seen her that pissed," Adran commented.

Shuffle kept her ears down, remaining silent. Fia scooted next to her to put a wing around her shoulders in hopes of providing some comfort.

----------

Asta nodded. "Neither have I..."

Emil shook his head. "I'm not going to risk looking. I might lose an ear."

"It was not your fault for misunderstanding," Joanne shook her head, "You are not in trouble, Shuffle."

-----------------
So that was why Emil was facing off in the distance. "She doesn't have any of her knives on her, you know," Adran noted, leaning back on the edge.

"She still got mad at me though. I don't want her to be mad at me."

----------

"I would not bet on that. And she can still throw them later when she does have them."

"But do you realize what you did to raise her ire?"

-------------------------
Adran sighed, "Never mind."

Shuffle paused before she nodded. "I think so."

----------

"And aside from my own fear, I make an effort to give every woman the proper respect."

"Then when you understand what you need to apologize for when you see her again." Joanne nodded.

----------------
Adran shrugged, "You can respect a woman while admiring her form."

Joanne returned to her corner of the pool now that Shuffle was calmed down.

"I still don't get why she was so mad, she said she wasn't hurt," Veo shook her head.

"If someone grabbed you by the tail and dragged you around, would enjoy it?"

"i don't think I would, no," Veo shook her head.

"There you go."

------------------
"You cand admire a beautiful woman without peeping, Emil," Adran chuckled. "Ain't that right, Asta?"
