Fantasy Cursed Island

"I'll be fine, it's just saurians." She turned the rings on her magic sowrd hilt and frowned, it wasn't working. Probably corroded by acid, "See if you can Mend that," she tossed the hilt to Adran, walking out without Poli. The mimic had earned a break, she thought, and considering Asta's record of blurting things out when he was emotional, she wasn't sure she wanted Poli being privy to whatever conversation was to be had when she found the chimera.

Asta was still beating down lizards. He'd just finished off the last one of the most recent wave and was still attacking the body. He wanted to swing it against the nearest tree, but due to his current size, he had to settle for repeatedly jumping on its head. It actually looked rather comical, violence aside.

"Huh." By the field of bones, Asta had probably killed every feeder for a few miles. "You, uh, you having fun, Asta?"

Asta stopped his jumping and looked over. “Jerry?” Seeing he up and walking, his rage practically disappeared and he ran over. “Are you alright?! Should you be walking?”

"Am I alright?", Jerry reached back to pull a stray rib off of her tail, "What about you? Did you do this? Did Beri help?"

Asta blinked before glancing around, only now taking in what he'd done. "Ah. I suppose I did. I don't know if Beri helped. I didn't see him. He seems to have left..."

"You," Jerry looked around again, she knew Asta was capable of destruction, that was part of the reason she'd potion'ed him, but this was terrifying! "You do need control!"

Asta put his ears back a bit. “Yeah... Beri said to indulge the rage until letting it take over didn’t appeal anymore.”

Speaking of Beri, the leopard came scrambling back at that moment, tearing across the bones and followed by a tarrasque he'd happened across. The beast roared when it saw Asta, apparently it recognized the chimera.

"Gods-dammit," Jerry muttered, reaching for her sword until she remembered it wasn't there, and then reaching for her bow instead.

-----------------------
Back at the camp, Adran had Mended the sword hilt, but for some reason it wasn't producing a blade. "Think you can make anything of this?", he asked the fairy. He couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. Repairing magic mechanisms wasn't his thing.

Asta jumped in front of Jerry, ready as always to defend her, even at his current size.

—————

Niudisa looked over before stepping over to take a look at the hilt.

The tarrasque raised its stinger over its shell like the deadly weapon it was and charged at the chimera with abandon. "Crescere!", Jerry grew Asta to full size just as the beast collided, Sending Jerry sliding through the bones by the transferred force.

Beri, now that he'd found something strong enough Asta would have an actual fight on his paws, returned to his boulder to watch and jump in if necessary.

----------------
The hilt didn't seem obviously damaged, but then again the magicks to spawn a blade from seemingly nothing were complex, a suble issue could have massive repercussions. On closer inspection, there were... gaps... in the magic. Places were it looked like there was something. It was pretty obvious exactly what should be there, it just wasn't. It should be easy to fix, with Niudisa's skill.

Asta stepped forward as he grew, meeting the tarrasque with his horns and pushing against it as he dug his claws into the ground.

—————

Niudisa examined the device before she let out a huff. “Alright gimme a sec.” She settled down with it and started working her magic, figuratively and literally.

The tarrasque roared and jabbed at Asta's hide with its stinger, not even making a dent in the armor enchantment but more than matching Asta's physical power.

"Use your rage," Beri called, "I brought it here for a reason."

"BERI!"

"Yes, Jerry?"

"I'm gonna neuter you if you don't get down here and help!"

Asta growled as he kept pushing against the tarrasque. As he channeled the rage he'd felt before when ripping up saurians, he let out a roar.

Beri sighed, "Jerry, this exercise is to give your chimera control over his own temper. If you would rather he be a volatile-"

"Shut up and help, Beri!"

"As you wish," the leopard shook his head as the ground shook from Asta and the tarrasque's clash. They were both incredibly durable, Asta from being an archimaera with an armor enchantment, and the tarrasque for being a tarrasque. The tarrasque's venom did nothing against Asta, while Asta struggled to inflict more than minor injuries on the tarrasque's attackable parts.

Asta found that just pushing against the tarrasque didn’t do much, so he started attacking from a lower angle, trying to flip the beast, though that would be a challenge with its weight.

Stiff and heavy though the tarrasque's shell might have been, it did stand on six legs, and its front two were more than capable of rising up with it's head like a bear standing on its hind legs, leaning back on its other four for balance and slamming down its claws on Asta with enough force to crush a boulder. If anyone but full-size Asta were on the receiving end of that, they might have died instantly.

Loading an arrow and refreshing her memory of how to do the magic with the bow, Jerry took aim and fired a hunter bolt, the thing splitting into three and connecting at the base of the tarrasque's scorpion tail.

As the tarrasque lifted up, Asta charged forward, taking the force of the beast's weight with his whole body but putting himself under it. With his horns positioned between the back set of legs, his pushed up everything he had. If nothing else, he could at least unbalance it for Jerry and Beri to strike the weak spots.

"You are struggling,", Beri noted as he hopped up on the tarrasque's belly when it flipped. "You did not have nearly this much trouble when you last faced this one."

"Shut up and kill it!" Another set of arrows shot at what Jerry perceived to be the best place to disable the tail.

"It is Asta with something to ga-" The stinger made contact with Beri, force sending him tumbling over the tarrasque's head, Asta, and into the water.

"And there goes Beri.'

Asta growled, partly at Beri and partly at the tarrasque, before he too jumped onto the belly of it. That stinger was annoying, so he used his weight to keep the thing on its back as he went to grab the tail with his teeth, fully intending to just rip it off.

The stinger was firmly attached, but after a few tugs and enough force to send the turtle-lion-bear-scorpion monster and the chimera rolling, the tail tore loose. Like a lizard, the tail continued to twitch and sting even as it was detached, and the tarrasque's roar of pain confirmed Asta had done some serious damage, if the body part in his mouth wasn't any indication.

Splashing out of the water came Beri, roaring and yowling as he ripped across the bones towards the roaring tarrasque. Asta's ripping open the rear provided the perect opening for the raging leopard. There was a white blur, and then it turned red with tarrasque blood.

Asta rolled back with the tail in his mouth before getting back to his paws and spitting it to the side leaning his head back in a roar. While Beri had the rear, Asta went for the head, using his claws to damage it however he could.

The tarrasque was not equipped to deal with what was going on. Beri tearing it a new cloaca and Asta ripping through its mane was more damage than it could handle at once, and its shell prevented it from shaking to get the two off and flee.

Eventually, blood loss and injuries took the tarrasque's life.

Asta continued wailing on it even after it stopped moving. The head was more firmly attached than the tail was, otherwise he'd have had that off, too.
