Classification Description

  • There are two types of Classmen, Upper and Lower.

The Lower Classmen are a part of the freshmen and sophomore years, ages 18-20. Their training is less extensive, as it is aimed at strengthening the students’ abilities and letting them explore their limits. Any choices they make in their exercises do not affect their classification until they become Upper Classmen.

The Upper Classmen are a part of the Junior and Senior years, ages 20-22. They are trained in simulation exercises and occasionally are selected to go out on real missions with Alumni based on their temporary classification. The simulations and missions will pressure the Upper Classmen into making more moral choices that will affect their temporary and final classification.

The temporary classifications are made in order for the students to learn what choices give them which classifications, and can change. This is the only time period in which classifications are allowed to change.

Available Slots

More slots may be added, depending on applicants.

WIPs are not included.

Available Abilities

“For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.” - Newtons Third Law.

I expect this to be evident in your powers. So you mind blast someone? You are still human, so maybe you now have a headache. The way your powers work is that you are not super, you are still ordinary— you just have a perk. There will be a time later when you can evolve your powers into something more, but for now, keep it plain and original.

Only one power per player. There’s a lot in the list, but it’s first-come, first-serve. If you have a better idea that doesn’t fall into the following list, run it by me in the PMs or OOC first.

If you need help with specifying your ability, PM me and I’ll help.

?Name?

Alexia Tabor

?Age?

19

?Classification?

Lowerclassman

?Superpower?

Disruption: Alexia is able interrupt, weaken or hinder the powers of biological and mechanical targets, which disables them from using their abilities or to carry out programmed tasks.

?Limits/Drawbacks?

There are many factors that affect Alexia's power. Alexia would find it more difficult to disrupt a target who was far away from her, were aware they were being disrupted, or simple were intelligent and had a well-developed mind. The only way that Alexia can easily disrupt a target is by keeping consistent eye-contact with them. She cannot disrupt a target for a particularly long period of time, only around 10-15 seconds, any time period longer than this without break would cause serious mental degradation in both Alexia and her target, which may produce problems ranging from headaches to feinting. Since she is not particularly well trained, it is unlikely that she will be able to stop someone from using their powers altogether, rather just diminish the strength of it. She often has trouble focusing the power, and may accidentally affect any Aberant in the immediate area.

?Bio?

Alexia was born into a fairly wealthy family as the youngest sibling to her older twin brothers. Alexia's father loved their children more than anything else in the world, though it was still difficult as Alexia's mother died after having her. Her father was an Unclassified Aberant, though he was Unclassified simply because he worried that registering would put him and his family in danger.

Alexia began exhibiting some of her powers around the age of 12, her father often found using his powers around the house would strangely become weaker, or required slightly more focus to use. He assumed it was nothing until he realised that Alexia was always staring with utmost concentration whenever the difficulty showed itself.

When her father discovered her power, he became both worried and fearful, and so Alexia became more of a secret of a family than a member of it, as he was paranoid any association with the University would bring ruin. While her brothers went off to school, she was either tutored by the parents or close friends at home, and any sign of her using her powers was harshly reprimanded.

Naturally, Alexia became tried of being cooped up in the family's house all the time, and eventually she tried to make an escape. Not forever, she figured, but just for a little bit so she could see the world outside.

She left under the cover of dark, sneaking through the front door and immediately set off in a random direction. Unfortunately, she quickly encountered a group of young delinquents who thought it would be amusing to spend the night harassing her. Unsure how react, she tries running away from the group, though they quickly catch up and continue tormenting her, until her protective father came out of nowhere to help her.

Her father used his Disorientation ability to induce confusion into the thugs, and in their confusion he quickly helped her daughter out of the situation. Despite his distrust of the University, the situation made him realize that being trapped in the families' estate was no way to live life, and so after she begged him to let her go, he alerted the University about Alexia's presence, and after waiting until she was of age, she had gone there to begin her first year.

Superpower

Fire Manipulation (can control fire, even transform her whole body or parts of it into fire for a short while)

Limits/Drawbacks

-Using her Fire Form exhausts her to the point of feigning which is why she avoids using it.

-Her power is based upon her negative emotions, such as fear, hate and anger. The stronger the said emotion, the more powerful she is, but if she cannot focus her emotions, she cannot use her powers.

-Using her powers drains her stamina every second, the more she uses it, the more she brings herself to the point of mentally collapsing.

-Even though she controls fire, her body still can be hurt by it. Continually having her arm engulfed in flames for example, will gradually burn her skin, as far as causing herself 4th degree burns, albeit it takes longer for her skin to burn than normal people.

Bio

While I thought that I was learning how to live, I have been learning how to die.

A gruesome fate for but a little girl, that of a street urchin, looked down upon by everyone, with not a soul in the world to care about her. Ever since she has known herself, she has struggled to get by. Her parents were poor, yet worked hard to provide for her. They wanted her to rise up and make a name for herself. She loved them, even though she was young, yet she had always despised her condition. She asked herself seeing the pretty girls around here, „Why can’t I have what they do?”. Little by little, she enstranged herself from her parents, taking a dislike to their helplessness.

She began a life of thievery upon meeting a shady character named Bruon. Bruon had initiated her in all the arts he knew of: pickpocketing, lockpicking, breaking and entering and also teaching her the ways of persuasion, coupled with some intimidation lessons, but those were mostly theoretical as a small girl could not possibly scare anyone. She made a lot of money that way, which was soon remarked by her parents, who got awfully worried where how she had come into such amounts of money. The girl, finally giving in after their prayers, had told them everything about what she’d been doing for the past weeks.

Her parents, terrified, had forbidden her to ever see „that devil of a man” as they had taken to calling Bruon. Kat only met with him two more times after this fight. Once was when she told him she would be no longer partaking in their petty activities. The girl was a gold-mine for Bruon and his mates, for since she’d been working with them, things have starting to look good for the gang of thieves. They had been living it up, buying themselves better tools and clothes, being seen as good, high life people. They couldn’t just go back to the way they were, not after tasting the sweet life. Naturally, when the girl had given up so suddenly, they thought she had to have some big stash somewhere, and being the greedy bastards they were, they decided to pay her a little visit and ask *politely* where was she keeping it.

That was the second and final time Katherinna had ever seen Bruon. They came in the middle of the night, breaking and entering the girl’s run-down cottage at the edge of the city. One mistake on their behalf, namely hitting the kettle down, caused Kat’s parents to wake up. Upon seeing the intruders, her father attempted to fight them, but was quickly disposed of with the help of their daggers. Her mother soon followed the same fate, as Kat watched in horror how her parents were murdered under her very eyes. It was then that she had discovered her true self. The thieves and everything around her: the cottage, her parent’s corpses, all reduced to nothingness in mere seconds, as she stood in the middle of the ashes, burning bright as a star. She was in awe at what she could do, and realised this was no mere coincidence. She was blessed, given an opportunity to become something much more than she was.

She knew what she had to do now. That day she vowed she will never let others control and get the better of her, instead, she’d be the one pulling the strings. Her desire for grandeur made her forsake her birth name, never to reveal it to anyone. Instead, she took upon herself a name that would strike fear in the hearts of her enemies, a name that will go down in history for it’s greatness. Thus was born Katherinna Elisse Von Adler. Her first step would be to fiind those who can teach her to master her new found ability.

And so, she enrolled at the University of the Deviant, starting her journey to greatness and fame, making a name for herself as her parents always wished, although not in the same, gentle manner as they had wished!

Robin Reed, after his facial reconstruction...

Come on in, Winston.

Yes, Dr. Kellam, here is the file of the subject you requested.

-IMAGE-

Do we have a name for this subject?

Robin Reed
, sir, he was the only one to survive the cold storage out of the 100 participants.

Interesting, how old was Robin at the time of freezing?

He was 19, sir, which means he'd be 20 by the time physical rehabilitation is done.

I know that, Winston. Any abnormalities within Robin's system?

Yes, sir, I think he can be categorized as an abberant. These brainwave scans...they're definitely not normal. He'd be Unclassified if the Order were to put a label on him.

A hundred and twenty years old and a social outcast. I think it would have been better had Robin died in the Calamity. Can you explain the hole in his head?

It was caused by a powerful blunt force which forced his head through the plastic casing of an archaic computer. The skull shows several fractures but is still holding together...somewhat. The brain came into contact with the processing unit of the computer and the archaic doctors of the past could not find a viable way to remove the processor lodged in the brain without killing him. His parents must have loved him dearly to place him on life support and then enlist him in an experimental cryogenics project until he was better. I believe your grand mother had been the head of the project? In any case the processor is lodged in the brain and I believe it is the cause of the brainwave abnormalities, doctor.

Yes, she was, Winston. I'm not even going to ask what miracle of god made him survive; however, I would like to provide another view to your belief. I think Robin's parents had a particular dislike of him and thought to condemn him alone to an all too alien world a hundred years later. Either that or his parents had quite the panicked head on their shoulders. Is there a way to repair the damage, all of it?

We could reinforce the skull with some synthetic material, I would highly advise against removing the processor from the brain. Who knows what it could do to Robin. Might I suggest we properly integrate the processor instead and then replacing it with a modern one. I mean if he is to be unclassified, he might as well have an edge over the normal human, right? It would also help if Dr. Martens from Cybernetics were to help us oversee this as well. This could be grounds for a new breakthrough. Just think about it doctor,
Cyberkinesis, an organic hacking module among other things. The brain doesn't seem to be rejecting the processor at all, in fact it looks like it is adapting quite well to it. At least according to the readings.

Winston, might I suggest you stop referring to Robin as an object. Remember who he is. However, if you think integration would be the best course of action, then I sanction it. Hopefully the integration is successful. You said there was a 1% chance to make this work and we have already exhausted the other 99 participants. Do not screw up with this one Winston. The CEO would sack our entire department if this goes awry but we would receive astronomical funding if we could pull this off. I will fetch Dr. Martens, you should start going through the old notes on how to make this work, you have the source material from 99 other subjects, Winston. The Department's future is in your team's hands. Make it happen but be careful, I cannot stress enough how important it is Robin does not expire. Now go ahead and thaw him.

Yes....sir.

-6 months later-

Come on in, Winston.

Good news, Sir! The i-integration, i-i-it's a success! We need to go to the testing labs, I need you to see the end result of mine and Dr. Marten's work. You will not believe our luck....after 99 times, sir. Quickly!

-14 minutes later-

I'm getting all these readings and charts but would mind explaining just what these mean, Winston? I'm not exactly at my best with all the pressure coming from higher up the food chain. Sell me, what's Robin got now?

If I where to explain the situation, Dr. Kellam. I believe the young Robin Reed has been upgraded and is alive. An ubermensch of sorts. We have been successful in integrating a working system that interfaces the entire brain with thee processing unit. We also included a small signal bouncer to send and receive signals from the world around him. It would allow him to remotely hack a security terminal assuming nothing blocks the signal.

Another feature is the ability to interface with electronics via direct touch, the processing unit also sends command through the nervous system, microscopic needles protrude from his fingers that connect to the connect to his nerves. This is how is able to physically interface with electronics via touch, the needles make it possible and only touching it with his fingers would make it work. I must say, Winston was the one who raised the point and then we ran the simulations. This must sound like it is the realm of science fiction but the 99 test subjects have given us some groundwork to base everything off at least.

The process also provides him heightened intelligence and perception, another unexpected effect was the brain patterns similar to Eidetic memory. It was few and far in between and it could just be park of his dreaming, however the possibility is there. Robin would have near perfect memory starting from the time we wake him up.

If he wants, young Robin could also modify the processor on his brain with some black market electronics from mein contacts. Winston can always reopen the synthetic skull and I can oversee the installation. That's under the assumption that he even wants an upgrade and has the funds to purchase it. But I believe the child will have much to get to grips to aside from his...modification.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, Dr. Martens, I should report you but I'm not blind. That black market is what helps our research teams, so I will let this slide. That is a lot of added functionality. Just how much human is left in him?

Your guess is as good as mine. Biologically speaking, he is still human with some cybernetics implanted in him. As for how he may act...only time will tell, Dr. Kellam.

Good job, everyone, we wake him up exactly on his 12oth birthday, 0000hours, understood?

-Robin's 120th birthday-

Are the vitals in the green?

Yes, Dr. Kellam, everything is set for the wake up.

Wake him.

.....

Happy birthday, Robin, glad to see you alive and well. My name is Richard Kellam. The time is 12 midnight and it has been...well a hundred years if my brain isn't failing me, Happy 120th birthday, Robin. I know this is all a shock to you and you think I might be high on mushrooms or some archaic substance of the same nature. I can tell you don't believe me with that look on your face. I am somewhat dismayed that I can't find solid evidence to back up my claim and that this just makes me all the more suspicious. Well do you have any questions?

Too many, I don't even know where to begin. How do you know my name? If what you're saying is true, how did I get here? Where is here? Where is my family? Where is Lucia and Sebastian, my siblings? Why the hell am I still alive? To start out.

I have your file on here this device on my wrist. Your complete name as well as basic information about you. How you got here is the reason why you are still alive. Simply put, cryostasis, it was risky move but your parents demanded it. Here is the medical wing of our research facility, one headed by your own family. Your mother, father, sister and brother are all interred in the family mausoleum, along with your nieces and nephews as well. I can arrange a visit after all these formalities are done.

Back up...my family is dead? I can smell bullshit from a mile away and this really reeks of it.

I can understand your skepticism, and I am sure no amount of words would convince you otherwise, which is why I think it would be better if you were to take a tour around the city. Get a good feel of just how different this new world is for you. Once you've acclimatized to the situation around here we can release you out into the public. I am sorry that this is not the best welcome you received and neither am I best guide, it is not every decade that you get to welcome one to the future, Mr. Reed. We can begin the tour immediately, if you want.

...

Yes, well just press that green button on the wall if you need anything. We-

Let's start the tour. Every fiber in my being just wants to see you proven wrong and that a hundred years didn't pass and it was more of a hundred minutes to make this elaborate prank....but there's that part of me that thinks this is all real. So I just wanna get to the bottom of this as fast as I can. Could you also explain why the hell my head seems to itch so bad, like its there underneath my skin but it won't go away.

Well that would be the experimental processor implanted on your brain, believe me it was the only way to bring you back without making your brain dead.

What?!

It would take me a week to explain just how that works and all but I think you would find the tour as a more interesting option. In any case, the strangeness does not end there. I do apologize for the violation of privacy though. We had no choice.

Sure you didn't, well points for effort. Let's just get this over with.

...If you insist, the cabinet there holds your entire wardrobe preserved over a century. Get dressed, I'll be waiting for you outside with my assistant....oh and welcome to the future, Robin Reed.

....

This child...he's not only condemned to an alien world, he can't even find love without being technically called a pedophile....Heh....Pedoborg...

What did you say, Mr. Kellam?

Nothing you need to worry about.

Name:

Robin Reed

Age:

120

Classification:

Unclassified

Superpower:

*Cyberkinesis minoring in Electronic Manipulation.*

-Can remotely hack electronics

-Can hack electronics via finger touch.

-Can hack electronics. Period.

-Has heightened intelligence and perception.

-Eidetic memory due to installed processor. The parts of his brain dealing in memory have been manipulated by the processor to act as a data bank for downloaded data. A feature that both Winston and Martens thought would be quite useful for Robin. The Eidetic memory was just a side effect.

Limits/Drawbacks:

-Dependent on the processor chip and stored programming of said chip.

-Starts out with access to basic commands and may learn more advanced commands depending on the processor chip and running OS code.

-Remote hacking may be rendered useless against materials that deflect airwaves such as aluminum.

-Touch hacking is rendered useless if not directly touching the wires of said electronic device (upgradeable to allow touch hack through most thin metals up to an inch thick, max.)

-Processor chip upgrade must be compatible and must be approved by Dr. Martens.

-Is still a fleshy meatbag.

Bio:
Robin Reed is the youngest of the prominent Reed family. His older sister Lucia and Sebastian are more of their parents' favorites but he is not without attention. It may as well be that their parents believed that equal love among all three of them with slight favoritism would produce equally happy children who would make equally long standing legacies. Even though, he was never the favorite child, Robin still didn't feel like he was left out or felt like he was wanting more out of his parents. If anything, he respected their beliefs and understands that not everything is possible.

However, Robin is not without flaws. The mere fact that he was the youngest always made him a little bit envious of his older siblings. Most of the opportunities in life came their way, at least the one's their parents could not grab a hold of, sort through and then equitably distribute among the children.

The fact that he was a scion of a wealthy family also irked him. He was all too aware that most of the friends he has were only ever in it for the money, yet he could never bring himself to deny them that. There were only a small few he trusted and considered as friends, their number could be counted on one hand. More often than not, his nature as a yes man allows others to take advantage of him on quite the regular basis. Though his outside social life may be rocking tower stacked too high, threatening to collapse on itself, he was still not a completely problematic child.

He wasn't an academic achiever either. Some of his teachers(who had balls) usually pointed out that he was wasted potential or that he was brilliant yet held back by glaringly apparent laziness. Robin was one known to do things at his own tempo, regardless of whoever else is involved, which makes him quite the lousy team player unless everyone on the team held a like minded philosophy which happened very rarely.

Now how his powers came about was quite the lethal and ridiculous story. Suffice it to say, he was celebrating his 19th birthday when the Calamity struck. It tore down most of their estate as well as the friends he invited over and tore open a hole in his skull, the excess force launched the head straight through the plastic casing of the his gaming rig he was showing off to his friends. The processor chip was lodged in what small grey matter leaked through his skull. Well it was more like the processor covered the hole in his skull and stopped his brains from leaking. The fluids must have grounded the processor to the grey matter, however, accounts differ from person to person. His sister had supposedly found him in such a state after the calamity passed. Well just him, the rest of his friends were in varying degrees of blood splatter on the wall or ruins. He was surprisingly still alive, if not barely.

Now no one had ever faced a challenge like this at all. The doctors did not want to treat such a fatal infliction, they all advised the Reeds to discard Robin. Well all except one. Dr. Marcella Kellam, she had asked the Reeds if they wanted to make a gamble for Robin's life. Cryostasis for a few generations in hopes that when he would be thawed, there would be advanced medical experts that could repair him.

As a guarantee, Dr. Kellam had literally forced her son to become a surgeon and his son after him, it would be up to her grandchild's or great grandchild and so on's discretion on when to thaw Robin. They would freeze him and there was no 100% guarantee he would survive the ordeal but it seemed as though the Reeds were gamblers and it was better than most of what was thrown their way. It kind of runs in the family as the Reeds Pharmaceuticals began when Robin's great grandfather won quite a risky gamble and has become a multinational Pharma company that has holding in almost every country in the world. They basically make strides in the world medicine, championing the development of cures rather than maintenance drugs.

Flash forward a hundred years later. Dr. Richard Kellam, Marcella's grandson, and his team thought it was time to thaw out the scion. Of course this was under the assumption and theory of his assistant, Julia Winston, had a way to remedy, if not improve on Robin. His father and grandmother did not say anything against improvements on Robin and so greenlit the project. Together with Doctor Randolph Martens, a prominent figure in the cybernetics world, Kellam had began working on reworking Robin Reed. Richard Kellam basically acts Robin's reference book and mentor in this brave new world.

Richard's father, Timothy Kellam, had begun thawing the other 99 subjects of the Cryostasis project of her mother after she had passed away. He was reluctant to be a doctor and thought that may be there was a way to figure out a remedy for Robin's obviously fatal....condition. The eyes of the Reed family were on him, so he couldn't exactly kill off Robin without first exhausting the other 99 of the 100 participants. So on he went with cracking skulls open and inserting computer processors into their brains, hoping that he may still leave the medical world before his twilight years and pursue his other interests.

He would only make to specimen number 56 before realizing the futility of the exercise and then passing on his research notes to his son, Richard. Much as it pained Timothy, he too had encouraged young Richard to take up the Kellam Curse brought on by his own mother for a deal that would supposedly benefit Richard's generation: Astronomical funding from the world's largest Pharma company. Richard didn't continue his father's practice of murdering people in search of a cure until later on when he realized the importance of it. No one would know how to deal with this since it is not every day that processors are lodged into brains.

It helped Richard to rationalize that most of these subjects were orphaned or left homeless by the Calamity. No one would know of them and no one would miss them and they would be giving their lives up in the name of cybernetic advancement. Richard wanted to just stop at cracking skulls and implanting processors but Randolph Martens urged him to do more with the soon to be cadavers. It wasn't until specimen 90 that Julia Winston came into the fray. She was a bright mind in the field of neuroscience and The Reed family had thought it prudent to offer her a spot in Kellam's team.

She was unorthodox to say the least but her most of her methods made specimens 90-99 last longer than 1-89. For better or worse, she was the one who had opted to integrate the processor instead of removing it. She would later come to realize that it would condemn Robin to a life of an unclassified but found it worth it in exchange for astronomical funding on neurocybernetic research among a field of other experimental topics. She was visionary with an ambitious goal and would conveniently discard morality and ethics for her ambition. She handles basic upgrade installation on Robin

Where Julia Winston conceptualized, Randolph Martens made it possible. He was the one who designed the framework for the OS that would run in tandem with Robin's brain. He was also the one who made good use with specimens 90-99 figuring out which kind of processor would not overload a body, make it explode or have a number of violent things happen to it. He had 9 chances to get it right and by the 8th, he had a working idea on the processor specs. Much like Julia Winston, Randolph would do anything to further scientific research, it was simply the only way forward. He handles parts acquisition via black market channels and advanced upgrade installation on Robin.

It wasn't long after that Robin Reed had woken up from cryo sleep after a hundred years. No one wanted to properly do the math, that much was certain. His body was 20 years old by the time his "renovation" ended and Kellam simply decided to dub the 120 years of age instead of 119. It was more convenient that way, at least for Richard Kellam. It started on a multiple of ten after all and it looked a tad neater than putting 119.

In any case, after the renovation came the ongoing resocialization effort by Kellam, Winston and Martens for Robin. It wouldn't do to release Robin half baked in a world where there were superhuman elements running rampant, but they all agreed he couldn't be staying in the labs either. Robin was supposedly a hands-on learner and Kellam sought to capitalize that.

He had requested that Robin be given lodging in a residential complex held by Reed Pharma to aid in his resoc. Kellam, Winston and Martens live with him though, but that does not mean they dictate where he goes and when, they simply offer suggestions and tips regarding certain areas around the city.

It is worth noting that the integration was not perfect and, on occasion, Martens and Winston would go to work on running maintenance on Robin. Until such time Robin was capable of self maintenance, the pair would continue doing their jobs. Kellam, Winston and Martens all agreed that it would be virtually impossible for the boy to even be involved in a romantic relationship. He was a pedophile no matter how one looked at his situation, parents would frown that their daughter's boyfriend was a hundred and twenty, technically speaking.

For better or worse, he was the Pedoborg according to Winston and Kellam and Martens.

[TL;DR, in the most watered down form.]

He is rich kid who gets frozen because no one could cure a cracked skull and processor to brain, which occurred during the Calamity, yet. His parents hope that the future would have medical specialists who will cure the "processor to brain" part. Kellam's grandma does some insurance work to make sure Robin gets treated some time in the future after a generations or so. In the end, he is cured but only after 99 other orphans and homeless people, basically victims of the Calamity who didn't become aberrant, were experimented on very horribly.

There are 3 people are prominent in his life in the future, Kellam, Winston and Martens. The first one is like the Morpheus but less badass and isn't Laurence Fishburne, the other one is the crazy redhead who has too many ideas and wants to try them all out on Robin, the last one is the black market dude who does the upping grading of Robin. Those three also did the general cyberkinesis thingy. on him

Joseph can slow or even stop time surrounding him for a temporary moment in bursts. He uses a finite pool of time he meditated from which he can do ~5 seconds where his surroundings slow down except for him.

Joseph in his own time has to meditate to 'gain' time to use. At this current point, 2 hours of meditation will give him a minute of time to use.

Limits/Drawbacks:

Joseph in his own time has to meditate to 'gain' time to use. At this current point, 2 hours of meditation will give him a minute of time to use.

To slow time, his state of mind has to be grounded, in phase with the world. He has to remain in deep concentration during the duration of time dilation. If he is completely distracted or in pain which has thrown him off thought, all he will do is give himself the splitting headache from hell and back. He does not currently have the ability to proficiently pull off a complete time stop as he has not trained enough for it.

He can try to slow time in panic, but if he manages to pull it off his mind will still be in severe pain.

He cannot hold anything while slowing time, so he can only fight with hand to hand melee.

Bio: Joseph knew little to nothing about his biological parents. He was an orphan who was picked up at the age of 2 by a man and woman who could not bear children. The man was a lumberjack, so they lived in the forest, secluded from the city.

His childhood was mostly spent either helping cut wood with his father or helping out at home. He lived a simple life as a child and was happy. At the age of 10 he was given a book called the The Great Book of Path and Virtue (a equivalent of the RL Tao te Ching from Taoism). It wasn't so much a religious text, than a philosophical outlook on life. It was a text based on Compassion, Moderation and Humility (as in being humble, not shame). He attempted to emulate what he could of it into his thinking. His parents didn't mind, as it didn't interfere with his work and he was always the nice, quiet hard-working boy he had been. Mind you, the lumberjack work made him physically fit too.

It all changed when he turned 14. He felt that at times the world was slowing close to a halt for a short time. He knew people fazed out, but this just seemed too odd. It also gave him large headaches. There was a local Unclassified man who gave advice and help as a simple doctor. When however he looked to see what the child's power was, the colour drained from his eyes. These were powers in something never meant to be dabbled with. Precognition was only educated guesswork. This was changing the course of the world, merely through a boys mind. He decided to train the boy before he turned 18 so to be sent off to the academy, as he knew that this power required regulation.

So Joseph came to train under this man when not working at home. While a dangerous power, it was a directly offensive one, so mistakes never lead to injury.

It was here he came to know the various attributes of his power. Things such as how meditation 'gained' him time to use in his bursts of time dilation. It was this time he stored within in that he would seep out when dilating. This also stopped him from feeling like his mind was being torn apart. However he had to keep a check on it, or his mind will hurt like no tomorrow.

The Unclassified (who kept his name unknown for security reasons) also encouraged him to stud further in his Great Book of Path and Virtue. As a text it encouraged the reader to 'align' themselves with the flow of the universe. An action through non-action, like the river that has no intention, but flows and erodes in correspondence to the world around it. Through this mental yoga he kept a state of mind that was perfect, for dilation quite literally bent that flow, pushing the rules to its limits.

Another thing he found was that while in dilation, he could only use his body. He could hold no extension of his body, such as an axe or a sword. All that would happen is a searing pain in his hands like they burnt.

As such he also (along with the strength gained from cutting wood, which etched his back with muscle) did strenuous physical exercise. To maintain a healthy mind one also needed a strong body. The Unclassified taught him melee fighting which was taught at the academy when he went there and when surviving on the streets. As Joseph was secluded, he also gave him texts to read on how the outside world functioned, though it bored Joseph greatly. It was at these points he felt sad that his power didn't speed up the outside world.

At his 18th birthday, he said goodbye to his parents and to his mentor, to go to the academy.

Personality: An all round nice guy. He lives by what is dubbed The Path as detailed in the book. Its apparently one of the older philosophies of thinking that were long forgotten in time as everything changed. (It is based on what we have in real life as Taoism)

The Path dictates he leads a simple life, being selfless and aligned with nature. Contrivance was not what he was into, simply moving in reaction to the world around him. As such he is calm and mild mannered. He did however pick up his mentor's sarcasm, for better or worse when mixed with The Path.

His spare time was mostly spent sitting cross-legged with an empty state of mind, gathering time. When he is so, he feels part of the living breathing Earth, becoming increasingly aware of the Present and its surroundings.

He also practised fighting by visualising an opponent in front of him due to his powerful control of his own mind (necessary to control the dilation). With it he can effectively alone simulate fights.

His mind due to its conditioning and training is strong and very difficult to manipulate. It was not however impossible, he was still young and there would most definitely be cracks in the defence.

Name: Zak Muir

Age: 24

Classification: Alumni

Title: The Source

Superpower
Pretercognition. Zak can catch glimpses of the past and future through visions. To purposely trigger them, he touches or holds an object and concentrates on it. The visions depend upon the object having a strong tie to a person or event. If he knows the object is tied to a certain topic, person, or event, he can attempt to steer the vision in that direction, but it only works about 60% of the time, which is to say it doesn’t work much at all. During the visions, he goes into a dream-like state for anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes: the resulting vision can cover minutes to hours of time. Visions that cover hours of time are disjointed, however, making them more difficult to follow.

Limits/Drawbacks

  • His power only works on objects. He can apply it to a location, provided there is something to touch there and enough of an imprint in that specific location. He doesn’t get anything from people, but might be able to trigger a vision through an object that is dear to them.
  • Although Zak can purposefully attempt to trigger a vision, they also can happen without warning. This is especially true for objects connected to a particularly gruesome or cataclysmic event. For this reason, he wears gloves whenever he can.
  • While he is having a vision, Zak goes into a dream-like state. Although he can remain standing or sitting, he is unaware of his surroundings and vulnerable. Afterwards, he suffers from mild disorientation for a short time (5-60 minutes, depending on the length of the vision). While disoriented, he needs to concentrate to perform complex tasks.
  • Typically his visions are of something in the past tied to the object, but some are about the future. Unless something in the vision (e.g., a newspaper or a known event) tips him off about the date and time, he cannot tell whether it is a future or past vision.
  • Future visions are not infallible: they are a vision of what will occur given the current situation. The further out the event he sees, the more likely that something will change that event from playing out as he has foreseen it.
  • False reads: If someone had a strong enough emotional thought around an object, he may get a "false" vision of that emotional thought. For instance, a divorcée's wedding ring might trigger memories of the wedding, the spouse in the act of cheating that broke up the marriage - or of the wish that their now ex-spouse would catch on fire. This is rare enough that Zak is not aware of it yet.

Bio

Zak’s mother was a saint, or so everyone told him after she died. His memories of her mostly involve nursing scrubs and hurried goodbyes when she left him and his sister with a neighbor. She died when he was seven years old, and he and his sister, Kirsten, went into foster care. He hated her for a while, for putting the people at the hospital first and for letting herself get so sick taking care of others when she should have been taking care of her children.

Foster care wasn’t that bad, although they changed houses and families like most people rearrange the furniture. The worst times were when they separated him from his sister. Two years younger than him, she was a sensitive soul and quick to trust, despite all that they went through. Maybe he was to blame for that; after all, he tried to shield her as best he could.

Life was fairly normal, though. As all kids do, he adjusted. He grew up listening to stories of the Aberrant being condemned or applauded while most normal people just tried to stay out of the crossfire. Personally he loved to hear stories of the Founding Five and the amazing things the Aberrant could do. Most of his foster parents condemned them, bemoaning the state of the world. Since he thought most of them were idiots, he took that as a sign he was on the right track.

Most of his foster homes were okay, but none kept him and his sister for long. “Too much to handle,” was the phrase most commonly used. He took it as a mark of pride. Bored in school, he focused on rock climbing, lacrosse, and music. And always looking after his sister, who argued every point and pushed every boundary.

Zak’s powers emerged when he was 16. He and his sister were staying with the Milburns, a cop and his wife. Zak picked up his foster father’s badge and saw a vision of a shooting from the week before. His foster father, Jack, hadn’t been involved, but he had witnessed it first hand. Then Zak saw an animated conversation between Jack and the shooter about how to fill out the report. Jack argued about it, but agreed to lie about the “assailant” having a weapon. Zak passed out for a few minutes after the vision. Later, he claimed to have seen a story about the shooting on the news and asked Jack if he had been involved. Jack said he hadn’t and even if he had, it wasn’t something to be discussed. Before that moment, Zak had known people lied. A lot. But he never forgot how easily Jack dismissed the question as if Zak was stepping out of line.

After that, Zak’s abilities dominated his life for over a year. Visions came to him, seemingly at random. He learned more than he wanted to about friends and strangers. He told Kirsten what was happening, but to everyone else, it looked like he was experiencing episodes that put him into a brief catatonic state. After a series of doctor visits, he finally confessed what was happening.

That’s when he learned that his mother, Meghan Muir, had been an Aberrant. Her ability was centered on healing others. Since no one knew who had fathered Zak and Kirsten, the Hero League treated him as if both of his parents had been Aberrant: they assigned him a Hero as a mentor and guardian. His guardian was Alfeo Almonte, the steady minded, whose powers centered on emotional control through reading and influencing other’s thoughts. At first, Alfeo was only supposed to take on guardianship of Zak, leaving Kirsten with the Milburns. Zak refused to go without his sister. Although Alfeo could have influenced Zak on the matter, he chose not to. Instead, he took on guardianship of Kirsten as well. He earned Zak’s trust and loyalty through that action.

Zak enrolled in the University of the Deviant as soon as he was able, hoping it would be able to help him control his abilities. Before he started there, however, he had a vision of his sister, Kirsten, when they were packing up to leave for Almonte’s home. When Zak grabbed her jewelry box, he saw her crying with a black eye, her current boyfriend standing over her with his fist raised. He tried to warn Kirsten, but it only made her distance herself from her brother. Zak found the boy, beat him, and told him to stay away from his sister. The coward stayed away after that, but Kirsten never forgave Zak for it. Not completely.

Before starting at the University, Almonte attempted to help Zak with his abilities. The mentor could see what Zak had seen, and most of his assistance came in the form of helping Zak deal with the emotional trauma of seeing some very personal and often very graphic visions. While they attempted to work on control, it still seemed like any object could trigger a nightmare. He started wearing gloves when he could and quickly learned how people avoid you when they know you can see their secrets.

He kept his head down at the University. Even in a place where everyone could do astounding things, the students often avoided psychics and telepaths. His limited control over his ability made it worse. He made a few friends and is loyal to them, but often his abrupt and suspicious nature turned people off. Two of those friends were lowerclassmen and are still attending the university. During his time there he learned fighting skill and some control of his abilities, mostly centered on consciously triggering a vision, however objects and locations with a strong imprint can still trigger a vision without his willing it. Meanwhile the faculty (and Alfeo) regularly reminded him of how useful he could be on a team. He usually answered with a smirk.

After graduation, Zak took on the title “The Source”, but attempted to avoid Aberrant politics and battles. Unsurprisingly, he was classified in the Hero League as Reluctant. He currently works construction, glad for the excuse to wear gloves and be around new materials without any imprint tied to them. He visits the university periodically, to visit with friends still attending and one of his favorite professors. Occasionally the Hero League will ask for his help, and he does his part and keeps his head down. He has also been known to take on a personal case if the reason is compelling enough. (This is especially true a pretty girl happens to be the one asking for help.) Slowly, his reputation has been building as an Aberrant private investigator among some circles, and so far the League hasn't objected. He is careful to avoid Unclassified Aberrants if possible, but secretly feels that the rules about hunting them down are draconian. He prays he won’t be put in the position where he has to make a choice about having to “destroy” an “Unclassified threat”.

As for personality, Zak sees himself as a realist. Witnessing how people treated each other growing up, he tends to assume the worst first. It’s safer that way. He remains close with his sister, calling her every week since she attends a college several states away. Likewise, he has a few friends to whom he remains loyal, including Alfeo. Generally speaking, however, he keeps people at a distance and doesn’t let people know he’s an Aberrant. His love affairs have been brief and almost purely physical. He has little tolerance for those with an entitled attitude, and none for bullies. He dislikes using his abilities, but will do so if he feels the cause is right. In particular, seeing the weak preyed upon will get his attention. Zak escapes whenever he can through rock climbing trips and playing his guitar.

TL;DR version of bio

Foster kid with a younger sister, Kirsten. His powers manifested at 16, causing challenges as it sent him into a vulnerable state and he saw things he didn’t want to see. Alfeo Almonte, the steady minded, took him and his sister in when he was 16, mentoring him and providing stability. Yet the combination of bouncing between foster homes and seeing people’s secrets has resulted in a pragmatic and skeptical view of his fellow man. He attended the University and kept his head down, gaining limited control over his abilities. Currently working a construction job, he takes missions for the Hero League when called upon. He avoids using his powers if possible and wears gloves whenever he can get away with it to prevent accidental visions. Has been known to assist others off the books as a modified kind of P.I., but it has to be a compelling case. Devoted to his sister, loyal to his friends, but generally keeps people at a distance.<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2014_05/Zak_2.jpg.807cd79ee32d024ce7264c76ee826b45.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="18232" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2014_05/Zak_2.jpg.807cd79ee32d024ce7264c76ee826b45.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Body Modification/Artificially Enhanced Physiology (Cybernetic Augmentation/Enhancement)

[Excerpt from SS-V.2 Project - Medical Documentation by [Redacted], Revised Ver.]

The subject's body was in shambles when he was brought to us, though he was miraculously alive - despite severe damage to all limbs and face. Assistance from [Name Redacted] was required to craft the augments used to rebuild him. We had to replace both arms and legs, the main area of his chest and part of the subjects face, including one eye. Amazingly, the brain was untouched, making the subject very useful in our work. With all the augments, the subject can be trained to use them for enhanced physical capabilities, durability and mobility and the ocular implant (Image Attached) can be used to enhance vision to a certain degree. Testing is required post mental re-education, but subject is expected to make full recovery.

Limits/Drawbacks:

Subject Two's limits and drawbacks come from his inability to yet control his new body or its functions at a proper level. Mobility is decreased due to the new limbs and his lack of training with them and enhanced strength is inconsistent as well. Parts of him, including the brain, are still very uncovered and fragile, as this is simply a prototype test for functionality in part enhancement using a living person. Subject two is also very confused and disoriented, and also on the run from the people that did this to him, making him both a target and constantly keeping him in a state of stressful edge.

Biography:

The man now only known as Subject Two does not recall much of his past, but there have been flickers of memory slowly returning. He recalled a broken home life and upbringing, then flashes of many different homes and cities, leading him to assume his childhood was in constant movement from one hometown to the next. Before the accident, he was meant to be married, but he and his fiance were on the verge of calling the wedding off. In the midst of such discussions, an incident broke out near his home and, without thinking, he jumped in to take action and save lives.

There was an explosion... and everything went black.

When he awoke, he found himself in a military compound that he originally assumed to be a hospital. Memory of testing and surgeries came and went, but he distinctively remembered overhearing of his presumed death and 're-education' to eliminate his memories and personality. Fearing for what that might have entailed, he broke free from his bonds and from the compound, fighting in a panic to escape. Once out, he simply ran, ending up in an unrecognizable city.

Various encounters afterwords lead him to believe he was being hunted. He moved from job to job, trying to stay one step ahead of whatever group was searching for him. He tried to stay low and out of site, praying that he could somehow find out what had happened to him after his accident.

Vibration Manipulation

The ability to sense and control the vibration of molecules of everything from a small pen to the wall of a building. This ability be used accelerate and decelerate the vibrations, as well as increase the vibrations to the point of shattering an object and create shock waves. The ability can be channeled in a direction through an object such as a wall or the ground.

Limits

  • Senna’s power is strongest when in direct contact with an object. Her ability to sense vibrations is limited to only what she can touch, she can vaguely sense through air but it is very weak and muddled.

  • Ability only work on non-living materials. Her abilities do not work on something that’s alive such as a person or animal.

  • Senna has mastery of vibration in solid objects, and to some extent liquid. She is currently working on manipulation of gas/air.

Drawbacks
  • Sennas abilities are tied to emotional state. If she is calm she can control her abilities with minimum mental strain. If agitated or anxious her abilities radiate and function without her control.
  • Sennas abilities does put a strain on her mind and if used for an extended period of time will start to develop a headache.
  • If She uses her ability for an extended period of time without rest Senna risks straining her body to the point of fracturing bone.

Bio

Senna is a fairly withdrawn girl, she likes to draw and read preferring the fantasy world over the real one. She is socially awkward not really knowing how to converse with others past answering questions. The only time she can really converse normally is when discussing books. She'd tried to change this with school however has made little progress. Senna suffers from an anxiety disorder, which over the years she has developed coping methods and learned to manage. However there are time where she will slip into a panic attack if put under extreme amounts of stress. Senna hates conflict and will try her best to avoid it as much as possible. The only time Senna is aggressive or violent is when there is absolutely no other option. Senna prefers fantasy and science fiction but will read just about anything. She loves spicy foods and has an extreme dislike for anything bitter. If she does not like someone she will sometimes refer to them as a bitter food or drink. Senna likes to experiment with her abilities and in her free time can be found testing her powers on new materials to see how it reacts.

Senna grew up in a relatively normal middle income home with parents who cared for her very much. Her father worked and her mother stayed home to take care of the house and Senna. Her mother even home schooled Senna for most of her education. Things slowly started to change as Senna got older, she noticed her parents arguing and fighting more. By the time she was eight she could sense a palpable tension in the house at all times. They were never directly angry with her however sometimes their aggression would be misdirected if she entered at the wrong time. She never understood why they fought. then again she never wanted to hear the fighting, she would lock herself away in her room listening to music and reading her books. Books became her coping mechanism and she would sometimes re read the same book 100 times.

When Senna was Eleven she noticed there wasn’t something quite right with her. She would be able to touch glass and cause it to vibrate enough to produce sound, few times she shattered the glass completely. She could do the same with other things but never really explored it. She realized that whenever she became upset she things around her starting to shake, even the walls. So much so it would knock items off shelves. She didn’t tell anyone about her strangeness. She’d heard about super heroes and villains but always thought they got their abilities in exciting or strange ways. Her mother kept her sheltered from that world making it seem like a far off fantasy.

One day when she was twelve her mother caught Senna using her abilities while experimenting with making different tones using a wine glass and some water. Something she had read in a book once. Her mother completely lost it, interrogating her about her abilities and how long she’d known. She made Senna promise not to tell a soul about her powers and to never use them again. Threats of the government taking her away or killing her made the girl agree not to tell anyone or use her powers. From that day on Senna grew fearful of the world and of herself. She was scared that she wouldn’t be able to control her power and keep them hidden and even more that everyone could tell. They knew she was different.

Overtime Senna developed an anxiety disorder made worse whenever she would have to leave the house. There were times when her abilities would act on their own causing objects to fall or topple over. Cracks in her walls started to appear from the times stress had gotten the best of her. Senna tried to keep everything inside and be a good girl, but without a friend or someone to talk to the stress just began to build and build to the point that her anxiety turned into paranoia. Sennas isolation from the world stunted her growth socially and she didn't learn how to communicate past being an obedient daughter. Sennas world became her room and the books she kept close.

One night when she was 16 Senna was suffering form a particularly bad fit of anxiety. She could feel the wall trembling from her power and tried to stay calm, however not even reading could help focus her scattered spinning thoughts. When her head began to throb, she decided to venture downstairs to get something to help dull it. She was only vaguely aware of her parents having another argument, by this point she had stopped caring about their fights. She reached out to grab a cup from the shelf and it shattered before she could even touch it. The sounds drew the attention of her parents. They rushed in to see what happened and Senna tried to explain the glass had just slipped. She tried to grab another glass but saw the cup begin to shake as her hand drew close to it. Sennas mother, irritated already by the fighting, snapped at Senna about being careless and filled a glass of water herself before holding it out to Senna. The teen tried her best to calm down before reaching out for the cup. She was only able to touch the glass before the water started to jump and the glass explode once more.

Sennas father witnessed the whole thing with suspicion in his eyes, seeing the glass explode for not rhyme or reason was all that was needed to set him off. He started yelling at the mother accusing Senna of being one of “them”. He started ranting about how he’d known the Senna was different and how he had been stupid for believing the mothers lies before accusing her of cheating on him. Senna didn’t understand the correlation between the two events. How did her having power have anything to do with whether or not her mother cheated on her father. Senna pressed herself into the corner of the kitchen as the two adults started arguing and yelling spitting bile and insults at one another before the truth was finally said.

Senna was in fact not her husband’s biological child, her mother had an affair years ago with another man who she knew was an Aberrant. However the man left suddenly before even knowing about the pregnancy. The mother kept her affair a secret and told her husband the baby was his going about life as if nothing was wrong. She worried about the possibility of special powers being passed down to Senna and kept her home to keep an eye on her for any sign that Senna was an Aberrant. The mother didn't want Senna to know of her father or anything about that world for fear her secret would be revealed.

With the truth out Sennas father started to turn red then several other shades she didn’t think was possible before the fighting started gain ten time more violent than before. Senna was stunned by her mother’s revelation not knowing what to thing or feel about it. Senna was only vaguely aware of the walls starting to tremble and the cutlery starting to rattle. When her parents fight went from verbal to physical she started to panic and fear seeped through the shock. After that all Senna could remember is a lot of screaming, most of it her own, then the sound of splintering wood and cracking stone before chaos rained down on the family in the form of their roof collapsing.

Senna awoke in a hospital days later confused by where she was and how she had gotten there. She learned that her parents were in critical condition both suffered from lacerations and broken bones. Her father had a pierced lung and her mother would most likely never walk again due to a spinal injury. Senna felt horribly guilty about her parent’s condition and blamed herself for what happened. There were no other known relative and neither of her parents could take care of her so Senna was temporarily turned over to child services instead. The girl didn’t question, fight or argue the decision, going along numb to the world. The social worker who took her were worried about her mental state and after an evaluation discovered a whole host of problems the girl had developed. Senna had even broken down during the assessment and told them what she was fully expecting them to kill her on the spot. Believing it was what she deserved for nearly killing her parents.

To Sennas surprise, however, they didn’t kill her or harm her in any way. The social workers showed her more understanding and compassion than even her own parents did. Senna was legally removed from her parents care and put under the care of a Hero who would help Senna heal from years of stress and mental abuse. She learned the proper way to cope with stress and her anxiety slowly got better. She was educated on the truth behind Aberrant and told of a school that she could go to when she was older to learn how to properly control her abilities. Senna gradually lost her fear the outside world but still had some anxiety issues, some scars were too deep to heal.

Senna enrolled in the
University of the Deviant scared of what would await her but slowly acclimated to the new environment. She was terrified at first to use her abilities freely and would limit what she did until she realized that it was ok to mess up. The university was a place to make mistakes under the supervision and guidance of those more experience than her. By the end of her first year she stopped fearing her abilities. She enjoyed learning about other Aberrant and their abilities as well as her own. Senna studied hard and put her all into learning how to control her abilities progressing even further the year after. She didn’t make many friends since she was still fairly awkward but the few she did have she enjoyed their company. Senna now enters her third year where new challenges await her since this was the year temporary classification would be given for either Hero or Villain.

Superpower: Kinetic Force Exertion

  • Generating blasts of invisible kinetic force from the electromagnetic field around his body in any direction.
  • Throwing balls of force from his hands
  • Exerting a blast from his feet allows him to leap great distances and heights
  • Infusing his body parts with kinetic force to harden or improving their capability
  • Can endure a much larger amount of oposition force than normal human

Limits/Drawbacks:

  • He can not keep up a constant wave of force, only single blasts at a time
  • Lack subtlety
  • A blast at point blank or too close a distance with too much force is likely to backfire and injure him
  • Lag time: It takes 15 seconds from the previous blast for him to use his power again
  • His power source is not infinite. He has to store up kinetic force by hitting things, his reserve goes up as much as the force he deals out. Normal movement, like walking or even moving his arms have the same effect, but it's painfully slow and insignificantly small.

Bio:

Jason grew up surrounded by tragedies. He was adopted at a young age, his parents had previously died in a plane crash on their vacation, leaving him with nothing but a half-burned brother, who couldn't even lift a finger and refused to wake up from the coma. Jason was sent to a foster home, where his fantasy of Peter Pan adventure was shattered and trampled on. It was a whole new world living in the foster home, a cruel and unforgiving one. Bullies lurked around every corner, and small as the place was, avoiding them was near impossible. The staff and caretaker seemed oblivious, or more likely didn't give a damn. His childhood from pleasant and loved became a total nightmare. It didn't take him long to learn to become one of them. The strong prevails, that was the lesson that was carved deep into his mind by multiple beatings received and just as many dealt out himself. The foster home was supposed to be a place for children, to have them taken care of when they have nowhere else. Instead, it was a torture house that spits out mosnters in place of the sweet and innocent kids who had gone in. Among all of the children, none were more than 13 years of age, but just as brutal as if they had been on the street their whole life. And Jason would really have prefer the street, there were at least places where he could be alone.

Jason was finally adopted at the age of 12. He didn't really understand the choice of his new parents. All he did meeting up with them was smiling and nodding and saying nothing, just like he was told to do, not really expecting to be adopted. But somehow, he was. Happy to finally be out of the Hell he was in, Jason found himself in another Hell, a world of lies and deceptions. On the outside, his new parents seemed decent and respected, humbled and kind. When the door was close.....well, that's when things got interesting. Turned out everything was a front. The truth was, they were far from decent. His father was a retired Colonel, and his mother was a lawyer. Both of whom, in their spare time, exceptionally good con artist. They didn't want Jason as a son, they needed him in their work, needed a hardened boy to help them look less suspicious, who knew exactly how things work and not question their morality, which they had none. So the next chapter of his life was spent in mischive and plotting, traveling city to city, treading on the gray area between the law and prison. His own life was lie, pretending to be a nice and obedient kid at school, open-minded and kind and likable. All the while, he hid his monster some place so dark even his parents did not notice.

But what had to come finally came. His parents tripped and fell, gotten too careless in their work, earning each 40 years in jail. By that time, Jason was 17. Pitied by people who knew him, none of whom suspected a thing about his involvement. Came next a year of caution, him stepping on brittle glass, afraid of breaking them and drawing attention to himself. Jason withdrew from the social life he usually had, taking care of himself the best he could and working part time to feed himself.

His power manifested itself at the end of his 17th year. Confused and wary, he kept he secret to himself, still intending to lay low. But things moved so fast it was out of his control before he knew it. One day he blew a hole the side of a dinning room on the side of his apartment, and the next, he was contacted by the people of the University. Realising he had no choice, Jason attended reluctantly. In all of his years in the University, nothing remarkable really happened. He kept on the mask he had been wearing all this time, having many friends, none of them really knew who he was. What he was.

Personality:

His graduation title said it all: Trickster. Jason was sly and unpreditable even before introduced to the art of con by his adopted parents. He knew every tricks there are in the book and some that aren't. It was not his hobby, going around fooling people, but when it serves a purpose, he does a damn good job of it. His speciality is using your own emotions against you in ways you won't see coming.

When he's not going around plotting world domination, he puts on his mask and be a gentleman. Kind and friendly, helpful and forgiving, though a little distant, all achieved by the great talent of faking.

Jason doesn't believe in sharing. He's incredibly selfish, and talented enough to always seem to have a plausible reason for not giving up what's his.

Name: Weed Watts

Age: 18

Classification: Lowerclassmen

Superpower:

Electricity Manipulation- Weed can generate and manipulate electricity, enough to equal a bolt of lightning (up to 1 billion volts). With this ability, he can control electrical signals and use the formulas of physics related to electricity to further his potential. He can also subconsciously feel electrical fields around him, though he typically doesn't notice it. He can develop a higher immunity to electricity the more he is exposed to it.

Limits/Drawbacks:

-
Though he isn't hurt by his electricity, using it slowly numbs all of his senses. First his sense of taste goes, then his sight, then his hearing, and lastly his sense of touch. The amount of time the loss of senses lasts depends on how much he used his powers.

-He has limited control over his electricity output, so his attempts at firing small streams of electricity might turn into giant spears of lightning.

-Due to his lack of control, he is affected by extremely high frequency electromagnetic radiation, putting him at risk for cancer and the slow deterioration of his body. It can be remedied if he uses his power sparingly, or if he develops a higher immunity than what he already has.

-Sometimes, he randomly discharges sparks of electricity. It's even worse when he starts to cry or become emotional.

Bio: Weed's birth was a joke to the gods. It had all started when his mother went out drinking with her friends, something that Weed's mother never let him forget. His mother, drunk and reeling, did not have control of her actions and went on a wild night of revelry and sultry sweat. And she fell in with a man whose name Weed does not know to this day, and became impregnated with child. Weed was a horrible accident, and his mother regretted ever having him. She had been kicked out of her own family for becoming laden with child, and was restricted from having an abortion due to her parents. He was told this every day by his mother, starting from since he was given the name "Weed". They lived in a slightly drab apartment that was cleaned regularly, and lived on a slightly less than average income.

His childhood was not spent happily, but it was not depressingly tragic either. His mother fed him, clothed him, and gave him shelter, but she never provided the love that he craved. But he was allowed to go to kindergarden, and he made wonderful friends that gave him the companionship that he desired. Weed was happy with his normal and unchanging life, until he reached the age of 11. There had been a large rainstorm occurring at the time, and he and his friend was going to his friend's house. The shortest route was across a field used for grazing animals, and they decided to take the route across the field. The two children were halfway across, until it began storming heavily. Thunder boomed, and lightning crashed down to the earth, hitting the taller of the two, Weed. Weed was struck by the lightning, and fell to the ground. His friend panicked, and ran off to call for help. Paramedics came and took him to a hospital, where he stayed for three years in a coma, suffering from ruptured eardrums, hemorrhaging, third-degree burns, and slight brain damage.

When he woke up on his 14th birthday, the first thing he started to do was spark and shine with electricity. He overloaded the machines hooked up to him with electricity, and caused a black-out in the hospital. Luckily, the standby generators had not been affected, and the other hospital patients were not at risk due to his shocking realization. Everybody around him instantly saw him as an uncontrollable danger and Aberrant, and took methods to restrain his electrical abilities. After numerous failed attempts, they decided to isolate him in a heavily insulated room to ensure the safety of others until he reached an age in which he could control it properly. His education was conducted through a glass wall, and he was kept away from all types of metals and electronics.

He was kept in solitary confinement with his only communication with others through glass walls. He had a tutor to educate him about the world, he had friends who came to visit him constantly, and his mother visited occasionally as well. Though all she brought to visit was harsh words and criticism, Weed's mother had finally began giving him some of the love he had always wanted, with underlying worry and caring. The visits that came from his family and friends gave him the hope that he would one day be freed, a bright hope that lasted his entire stay in the insulated cell.

His confinement lasted until he was released from the isolation cell at 18 years old. Weed had gained limited control over his powers, enough to stop giving people the shock of their life by merely brushing against them. He still wore insulative gloves and clothing, but he could finally go outside in four years. He was enrolled in the University of the Deviant in order to learn how to control his haywire powers, and hopes to be free for the rest of his life.

Personality:

Weed is a rather simplistic and childish person, and is slightly indifferent to any feelings of distress or upset he feels due to the brain damage he suffered as a child. He's very loving, and he enjoys having contact with others. This leads him to be extremely touchy, and he will frequently hug others and throw his arms around their shoulders. He has a childlike innocence, and is a bit uneducated about worldly affairs. Despite this, Weed is stubborn about going with other people's requests and usually demands the reason behind something he has to do. If it's something he already understands, then he won't ask.

Here's my character. If the power is too much, let me know. I tried limiting it's usage to make it a 'burst damage' kind of ability, with no uses outside of fighting.

Ignore the flying fish.

Name: Allen Shaw (Goes by Connor Jones)

Age: 20

Height: 6'2"

Classification: Unclassified

Superpower:

Invulnerability.
Allen undergoes a transformation. While in this form, he can completely disregard his own safety and can push his body beyond it's normal limits, as it is no longer fragile. He moves and reacts faster, jumps higher, and hits harder, although none of these enhancements are at a superhuman level – it'd be more accurate to compare his abilities in this form to those of a professional MMA fighter. An unkillable, pain-oblivious professional MMA fighter that really wants to destroy things.

The power will activate by itself when Allen is overcome by emotions. It will also activate automatically when he is severely injured, healing his wounds instantly.

Invulnerable Form

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2014_05/ruinrp.png.c9899526cf6c0ac31980e3b9f355a54e.png" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="18391" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2014_05/ruinrp.png.c9899526cf6c0ac31980e3b9f355a54e.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>
Limits/Drawbacks:

Allen completely loses his sanity when in this form. He cannot distinguish right from wrong or friend from foe. He can only sustain the form for five or so minutes. After using the power he suffers from extreme muscle soreness. Recovering takes days – the first day after using it he can't even stand on his own two feet. Using it multiple times in a short amount of time diminishes the forms abilities as his body literally starts breaking down, and the recovery time is increased further.

Bio:

Allen had an extremely easy life growing up. His family was like the ones you see on commercials – a family of four, two parents, one son, and one daughter with everyone loving everyone else dearly. Allen's sister was adopted, but that seemed to be the only thing 'abnormal' about the family.

He did well in school, both socially and academically. He excelled at sports, particularly soccer. His skill garnered him a small amount of fame, and many professional teams kept their eyes on him, waiting for the day when he would be old enough to play for them.

Most of his teen years were spent honing his soccer skills. The rest of the time he enjoyed the company of his friends and family. He was almost never indoors, instead choosing to explore the world around him. He simply loved life.

At the age of 19, Allen was invited to a camp held by a professional soccer team. He caught an air plane and attended the camp. He managed to impress the teams management, and was offered a contract and spot on the team's roster.

Overjoyed that his life-long dream of going pro was finally realized, he returned home to tell his family the news, and to prepare to move permanently to his new team's city.

He met up with his family at the airport. They were, of course, ecstatic for him, as they had been supporting him on this journey for as long as he could remember. At that moment, Allen truly felt his life was as perfect as it got.

The moment wouldn't last.

Two gunshots sounded throughout the building, and people began screaming. Four men dressed in black, faces covered by ski masks, made their way towards Allen, his family, and a dozen or so other groups of people – friends and loved ones greeting the other passengers of Allen's flight.

One of the gun-toting men told the large group of thirty-something people to make their way into an open door near them, that lead to a backroom. A few people tried to get away, making a beeline for the airports exits, but they were all quickly shot down by a second man, inciting more screams. His aim was inhuman, and Allen realized he must have been one of those freaks. An Aberrant.

No one else in the group moved. Allen felt an invisible force push him towards the door, and he stumbled back, noticing every other person with him doing the same.

The third man clutched at his head, clearly the reason for the push. Were all four of these guys Aberrants?

The hostages were told to sit on the floor and had their hands tied behind their back with plastic handcuffs.

The fourth and final man-in-black communicated with authorities on his phone, making his demands, promising to kill one hostage every half-hour.

One half-hour passed. An older man was singled out and shot in the head.

Another half-hour. This time the one killed was a young woman, barely older than Allen himself. Two people, whom Allen assumed to be her parents, had to watch her die.

Allen noticed his father staring down the criminals with fury in his eyes. He looked like he was holding himself back.

His father whispered to his mother. He told her that together, the two could save everyone. She told him they couldn't do it. That if they did, they would be killed.

The next half-hour passed.

Two of the men calmly made their way towards Allen's family. They stopped directly in front of his mother. One man raised his gun to her head. Allen's father jumped up, but was quickly pushed back and pinned down by an invisible force.

The man pulled the trigger and Allen's mother fell to the ground with a whimper.

The last thing Allen remembers is staring in shock at his mother's lifeless body lying face down.

Red filled his vision, and time seemed to no longer have any meaning. Images flashed by his eyes – images of the hostage-takers struggling against him, images of hostages being killed.

The next thing he knew, he was standing over a mangled body that was dressed in black and stained with blood. The person's face was unrecognizable – it's eyes were gouged out and the bottom jaw was completely missing.

With a yelp he backed up, and his legs buckled underneath him, no longer having enough strength to support him. He took in his gory surroundings. He was still in the hostage room, though now blood was absolutely everywhere, and multiple lifeless bodies were scattered around. A couple dozen hostages remained living, including Allen's father and his sister. They all stared at him as though he were a monster.

And he realized that that was exactly what he was. He had killed the masked men. He had used an innocent person as a blunt weapon. He had a faint memory of killing one hostage just because. Somehow, he was an Aberrant and a murderer.

His father told him to run. To leave before the authorities arrived.

And so he did. His muscles were barely functioning, but he ran without thinking, getting as far away from the airport as possible. He couldn't understand how no one had noticed him leaving, but he didn't care.

After getting away he realized his father was an Aberrant. Judging from the whispered conversation his two parents had had, it was possible that his mother had also been one.

Knowing he would be hunted by the Hero League for as long as he lived, he went into hiding and vowed to never use his horrible power again. He moved to the outskirts of the city, and he began to create a new, simple life for himself, going by the name of Connor Jones.
TL;DR Version:

Allen had a life that was about as good as it gets. That ended when his family got caught up in a hostage situation. His mother was killed by one of the criminals, and Allen snapped, his power activating by itself. Allen killed the gunmen, but also killed multiple innocent people. In shock, he runs away, knowing the Hero League would now eliminate him for what he had done. He makes his way to the outskirts of the city, and begins to go by the name of Connor Jones, planning to make a new life for himself while he hides from the Hero League.

Personality:

Four months have passed since he discovered his power, and to his relief, he hasn't used it again. His first birthday as Connor Jones passed, and he turned 20.

He is now very reserved and distant, haunted by the innocent people he murdered with his power, and afraid of being discovered by the Hero League – though he's not sure if he fears for his own life or for the lives of those that come to get him.

He's paranoid and gets wary around new people. He has a tendency to stare off into space, remembering how awful it felt to use his power, and wondering how his father and sister are doing.

He sees himself as a monster who doesn't deserve to live, and feels that he is selfish to try and evade the Hero League, as he knows he's a danger to those around him.

His greatest desire is to find happiness like he had before the incident.

This faint hope is what keeps him going.

Anaaya King

Appearance:

tagaq.jpg
Age:20

Classification: Upperclassman

Superpower: Mirage abilities

Anaaya is strongly gifted in the ways of perception. She'll alter what you smell, what you feel, what you hear, what you see. She can create the illusion of a bull charging towards you, make you feel the ground shaking as it charges you, make you afraid as you hear the stomping of it's hooves into the ground.

Her most powerful illusions are only done through physical contact however. A hand on the shoulder, a hug, a handshake. That's all it takes.

Limits/Drawbacks:

  • These mirages aren't perfect in themselves, and she cannot physically harm someone with them, but would instead drive them mad. So that bull, who is charging you currently, wouldn't be able to touch you.
  • The physical drawbacks to her powers are that she gets are nosebleeds and if done for too long, she slips into an unresponsive state.
  • The kind of illusions are usually tied in with how both her and her victim are feeling, cycling upon emotions.
  • As her illusions are more powerful when she has physical contact, her drawbacks are also more powerful.

Bio:

Back in the summer, deep in the lush forests of Alaska, there was a town. Miserable little place, with very little attention. It does not stand this day, for what was a miserable little town, is now a giant lake. You see, during the start of all of this, as many as there were all over the world, not many was found in Alaska. Or so they thought. Numerous unclassified warlords, ravaging against one another for control of the biggest state in the Americas, all with unacknowledged control of a vast array of powers.

Little do people know that this event is still occurring in Alaska to date. One of these people, is young Anaaya King. In the coming of her powers, during a raid by the notorious water controlling behemoth, Irniq King, her father, Anaaya pleaded with her father to leave the peacful village alone, resorting to having to fight with her father. In a shocking ending, Anaaya laid on the ground with her father standing over her, ready to stomp in her head. Anaaya simply placed a hand on her father's boot, and images of terror, lightning, and things she knew her father was afraid of flowed into him, and thus, Anaaya discovered her powers.

Irniq decided to leave the village as it was, but with his uncontrollable powers, instead flooded the village. Saving his daughter, whom he shaped into becoming his heir over the next 5 years, was arrested by the police for having done her mirage powers on one of the College professors. As a sentence, she was enrolled into the College, and although she's serving time here by a court sentence, she's also taking the time to learn how to further understand her powers so that one day, all those in her territory will both respect and love her, and those opposing her will fear her.

Upon returning home, she'll be expected to show the progress of her training at the College, so she strives to get better, as best she can.
Personality:

Anaaya is strong, compassionate, and understanding. She may not seem like it at first, but once you get through her hard outer shell, which was molded by her father, you will find a sweet hearted person, with a motive to make her cold outer self seem unbalanced. Studious, and analytical, she's usually either watching suspicious characters from a distance, or getting to know you for her own benefits.

Superpower:

Self-Detonation

So far, this ability is triggered by emotional distress. First, Natalin feels her skin burning, similar to what you feel when blushing. Then, her skin prickles like goose bumps, but her scales are actually sharpening. Finally, her scales shoot out from her body like bullets.

It seems as though Natalin can also trigger certain parts of her body to shoot out scales. For example, in frustration Natalin would slam her fists on a surface. Her scales spiked and shot out simultaneously from her fists.

According to some tests, Natalin's self-detonation is equivalent to a shrapnel grenade.

Her scales regenerate fairly quickly, so it is possible that she could consistently self-detonate every few seconds.

This is as far as Natalin's knowledge on her power.

chameleon-1.gif

Limits/Drawbacks:

She has little to no control over her power.

Due to Natalin's calm nature, she finds it hard to manipulate her emotions and activate her power.

Her power is triggered by emotional distress.

The regeneration rate after her self detonation decreases as the usage frequency of her special ability increases.

Bio:

A new aberrant was born of the living lizard man, Charles Mays, and the innocent Shatana Mays. Rare it was to see a green child being pulled out of the innocent Shatana Mays' orifice. "

I've got strong genes!

" Charles gloated aloud. The doctors sighed in relief when they saw the child without a tail. Last minute growths of tails cause serious problems to innocent mothers. "

Let me see her,

" Shatana gasped at the sight of her daughter. "

Well, ultrasounds don't really show the color of children,

" the doctors and nurses chuckled amongst each other. Mr. & Mrs. Mays looked at their daughter in awe. "

Natalin... let's name her Natalin,

" Natalin's parents shared a heart-warming smile, and finally Charles nodded, "

Natalin is a splendid name, dear.

"

Natalin's parents took her almost everywhere. When Natalin was 11, she started recognizing stares more than usual. She asked her parents in a very quiet voice, "

Why's everyone looking at me?

" Her father didn't have to stoop very low to hear her daughter, but Shatana was practically crouching to hear her. Her father bursted into laughter, "

You are GREEN, my dear!

" Natalin hid behind his leg when he yelled green. She, also, made a mental note on not asking the question ever again. As she walked closely behind her parents, she was looking at her arms and legs. She realized how strange she looked in comparison to the general public. Her skin was thick with scales and shared the same color as the leafs in the trees.

Finally, she came to a conclusion, "
I'm UGLY!!

" Little Natalin cried and cried until she felt something strange. Her scales were prickling. When she looked at them, they seemed sharper than usual. "

Baby, no your noo-OUCH!"

Shatana cut her finger when she laid hands on her daughter. "

Okay, time to go.. HOME..

" Charles said 'home' in a strained voice. He tucked little Natalin in his jacket as he cradled her in his arms. They called the Hero League the moment they got home.

Natalin's father tried assisting her with newly known power, but she refused. "

I don't like the way it feels

," she would complain. "

I-I'm scare, pa. Just wait til I'm in university, pa. Please...

" Charles was persistent, and he finally managed to convince his daughter to go to a laboratory at the age of 16. He said that there was an empty room that could monitor her movements. His scientist friend, Nick, was also curious enough to let him borrow it. This is where the exploration of her power began.

"

Come on, Nat!

" Charles would cheer her on. Her mother stood in a serious manner beside him behind a window along with Nick. "

I don't think she's comfortable with us watching..

" Nick admitted. He closed the blinds of the window. "

Just do what you can. My computer is monitoring you,

" Nick said through the speakers to Natalin.

Natalin couldn't function while she was being stared at. She felt like a stick in the mud. When they closed the blinds, she relaxed a bit. It took several hours before she could do something remotely related to her power. After that very tiny bit of action, she yelled, "

That's it! I'm done for the day.

" She expected her father to give her a look of disappointment; she wasn't the most optimistic of beings. "

Great job, my girl!

" Charles gave her a bear hug. Natalin was pleasantly surprised. Shatana kissed Natalin in the forehead and squeezed her hand.

I guess having powers isn't so bad..

she thought to herself.

Once a week, Natalin would practice at the laboratory. Despite becoming more open to the idea of manipulating her powers, Natalin was still self-conscious of the way she looked. She never, truly, like being looked at, especially stared at. When interacting with fellow peers, she has trouble keeping eye contact. Natalin is well known for evasiveness. She was very good at finding her way out of situations that made her feel awkward or uncomfortable. At times, Natalin finds herself allured by conversions related to powers.

There's so many!

she would say to herself. If she's not part of the conversation, she usually finds herself eavesdropping.

Natalin just can't wait to start attending the University.

Katriane Claire Alexandrie

Title:

Dreamless

Age:

24

Classification:

Alumni

Superpower:

Power of the Mind (Telepathy)

Telepathy includes words, abstract thoughts, and images.

  • Can telepathically communicate with her sister telepathically at will with no drawbacks in close proximity; has a more difficult time with greater distances
  • Can telepathically communicate with willing humans/humanoids. The more well-known they are to her and the closer they are, the more easily she can do this.
  • Can create a 'telepathic network' between willing human/humanoid participants. The more people
'networked', the greater distance, and the more foreign they are to her, the more difficult this is.
  • Can telepathically communicate with animals.
  • Can telepathically control creatures of less intelligence, with increasing difficulty for their number and relative intelligence.

Limits/Drawbacks:

  • While she can telepathically communicate with most sentient beings/creatures, she can not necessarily compel them to assist/help her.
  • People who passively do not wish to communicate with Katriane can not have it forced upon them.
  • When in crowded areas, Katriane can passively 'hear' projected thoughts of multiple persons. They are vague and indistinguishable, but create a 'mind noise' that will gradually cause headaches and disorientation.
  • Sometimes telepathic connections are imperfect; thoughts can be transmitted and received that are not intentionally projected during a conversation.

Bio:

The twins were born to an Innocent mother, Annette, and an Aberrant father, Richard. Proceeded by their brother, Beau, who was by all accounts normal, the identical twins were an auspicious birth. Even before the cataclysm there were urban legends about the 'special powers' and 'special connections' that such siblings could have. Their mother treated them lovingly and their father watched them with slightly more trepidation, anticipating what seemed to be fate itself.

When Katriane was very young, she displayed an innate ability to know what Katherine wanted and needed. At first it appeared to be nothing more than intuition as her speech itself had not evolved enough to reveal more. Slowly her parents were struck with the the revelation that Katriane was able to speak to her sister telepathically (with little trouble or thought) and preferred it to speaking. As a toddler she was difficult to motivate to communicate with anyone except her beloved twin; it seemed so much more contrived in comparison, even if telepathy was a more tiring method. Concern over her lack of development was quickly forgotten with the worries of whether this power would poorly impact her growth into a young woman. Her mother lavished her daughters with affection and attention, nourishing them as best as she was able, and slowly Katriane expanded her horizons with encouragement.

By the time the twins turned five years old, the strain of three children was already taking a toll on their parents' marriage. While their mother and brother tried to shelter them from the realization of the fracturing, it was not long before the true extent was revealed: their father left their mother for another younger, more beautiful woman. The family was devastated emotionally and financially by the loss. Katriane, who was still young, blamed herself for being unable to see the signs despite being gifted with extraordinary senses. While she couldn't appreciate the complexity of the dissolution of a long-term relationship, she could acutely suffer from it.

Katherine was relatively reckless in her pursuit of discovering her powers. As Katriane had displayed hers for years, they both knew that Katherine must also possess some intriguing ability. When they turned fourteen a freak accident displayed the previously concealed ability: blood control. At first Katriane was too naive to understand the implications: that Katherine would need to bleed often to take advantage of this power. Her sister strove forward with courage, determined to do great things, but Katriane was afraid for the pain in such a bizarre gift. Her twin was even more dear to her than her own self- and she had unintentionally contributed to future self-harm.

Katriane attempted to have a relatively normal life until she knew she would be of age to attend university. The powers she had at birth developed slowly as she was extremely reluctant to exercise them even for the purposes of testing their reach. Too afraid to find dark secrets lurking in the mind of someone that would betray her like her father, she latched onto Katherine, her mother, and brother with fervor. Sinking her energy into school, she excelled at most subjects and was able to make friends with relative ease. Suppressing her abilities seemed for many years to be the best solution and she was by no means eager to become an 'Abberant' like the parent that had abandoned her. What worth had a hero that would so easily desert his kin? Her mother had earned her affection and respect, thus Katriane aspired to discover a way to live a more 'Innocent' life.

There was one big problem with all of this- she wasn't an 'Innocent.' What was hidden deep within herself would not allow itself to slumber indefinitely. As puberty took hold of her, so too did her powers blossom and press against their boundaries. Even more troubling was the development of Katherine's- which took far too heavy a toll. There was nothing to do except voice repeatedly that they should both try to be 'normal' and not jeopardize what they had on lofty ideals that may never bear fruit. Katherine was a beautiful person full of aspirations, though, and was all too willing to pay the price for peace and justice.

The four years in the university were taxing on Katriane. After so many years of willful repression she was forced to admit who and what she was. The first year in particular she faltered on her path and questioned every step she took. Katherine was becoming increasingly powerful with increasing cost and all Katriane could hope to do was keep pace. They adapted to the environment and their morality stayed intact for the four years of schooling, landing them both squarely in the Hero League, much to Katriane's chagrin. She begrudgingly did extoll the values of the heroes, but she did not particularly believe in them. After all, her father was one of them. The young woman became increasingly pessimistic privately and informed her sister she felt that a wilderness retreat would be the best place for her- somewhere free from the headaches of too many gathered minds.

In the two years since her graduation, Katriane has stayed close to Katherine and in daily contact. Her 'abrupt' change in attitude, however, has been noticed by everyone of even miniscule intellect. The smile has faded away completely and Katriane is always the first and loudest to voice her skepticism about the practicality and success of any endeavor. Networking with other heroes has made her witness several 'mental leaks' that showed her the truth of their flaws. Unable to place her superiors on the pedestals they once held in her heart, she withdrew more and more. It would be incorrect to say she is bitter; her cynical despair is not nearly that antagonistic. The world seems so much more bleak than before: her sister crusades with martyrdom almost certain and even the best of the populace is full of darkness. Animals surrounding her wooded home have provided an answer to the solitude. With more simple minds and desires, she has 'recruited' varied creatures to be part of her menagerie. Some of them, especially a grizzly bear named Roosevelt, are spoken of often and more highly praised than some of her hero peers.

Her personality has made her rather infamous within the Hero order- and not in a good way. She does her job well, but isn't exactly a morale booster for a team.

To keep her own residence and pay its expenses, she offers her services to others on a contractual basis. For the right price she will help you talk to your dog about his potty problem, connect to your spouse halfway across the world to tell him you're pregnant, or delve into your mind to retrieve a lost memory.

Grim's hair is a light blonde, with streaks of black. She dresses in dark clothes most of the time.

Name: Grim

Title:

Age:
25

Classification:
Alumni

Superpower:
Regen: Well, Grim isn't truly invulnerable. The fact is, she can die. Though only from time. However, she can be "killed". For example, say she is shot in the head, and "dies." She'd not be dead, she'd be regenerating, her body not decaying. She'd get back up maybe two or three days later, the same person as before, though maybe with a scar. The worse the death, the longer it takes for her to come back. If she is burnt to ashes, she will rise from the ashes a month later. She does not age when "dead." When she is "dead" she is in a catatonic state. She cannot move, or act. Her body is limp, and pretty much like a corpse that doesn't rot or smell.

Drawbacks:
Like a normal human, she can be "killed" like any normal human. Shot stabbed, poisoned, dropped from a building. Anything you can think, it'll put her out of action temporarily.

Bio:
Grim is an orphan, having never met her parents. Her life was pretty average for an orphan, until it was discovered that she was an aberrant. At the age of twelve, she was walking back to her foster home with her foster sister, when she tripped and fell into the path of a moving car. It would have been very sad, and in a way it was, asides from her coming back from the dead before her viewing. News got around, as it would if someone had died and came back from it. However, she remembered it, she remembered every detail, even when she was "dead." She remembered watching the paramedics. Everything. That's something that a young girl should have gone through. Her foster parents, being freaked out, gave her back to the orphanage. A Hero was assigned to her, as she made it clear that she wanted to go to the University for the Deviant, as she thought she'd fit in there better than being a zombie amongst the Innocent. Not much significant happened, and she downright refused to be adopted by any family after the events. She wasn't an Innocent, and she refused to be treated as such. As time went on, she came to try to let her feelings go, as they got in the way, however unsuccessful as she still cares for people who get close to her. Her time at the University went fast, faster than she'd like, although her powers did act up again as she was again a victim of an accidental death. To the fault of none, she had managed to trip and fall down a flight of stairs and then out a window. She awoke several days later, she had come back from the dead two days before she awoke. Upon graduation, she had settled into her new life.

Hajar Alfarsi

? Age ?

19

? Classification ?

Upper-Classman

? Superpower ?

Shapeshift

"The user can shapeshift their form, transforming and reshaping down to the genetic and cellular structure. They can impersonate others or enhance one's body to combat, either by turning into animal, monsters or make the body stronger."

Hajar has only been trained to form into an animal or other humans. Other types of shapeshifting are quite new to her, though she would be eager to try something new if it were suggested.

? Limits/Drawbacks ?

?Too many shifts at once can seriously strain her body, and can hinder her ability to shapeshift for a while.

?Any injuries on her before a shift can affect a shift, potentially enhancing the injury to lethal states.

?Her red eyes stay with her through any form. If she does decide to mirror someone else, the color of her eyes will not change.

?Hajar cannot be anything bigger than a lion or a bear. If she even tries, she risks killing herself.

? Bio ?

Kay Eartha [Alfarsi]

Deceased at 32 years of age, 6 years ago.

Kay lived life as the daughter of two famous entrepreneurs of trade, Grey Eartha and Sasha Eartha.

Grey Eartha was a man without regrets, who worked for the majority of his existence. You would not see him do anything else, unless he was eating or sleeping.

Sasha Eartha supported this lifestyle. Sasha never said anything about it, and did not go against it. She'd become Grey's 'secretary' or 'assistant', in a sense that she always did as she was told. It was a one-sided relationship.

As the child of both these people, Kay never got a happy childhood. She'd only play by herself or have the occasional "meet n' greet" with kids her age. As for her scholarly career, she had none. She stayed home, self-taught.

The two females of the family, contrary to belief, were Abberants with the ability to morph their form. It could be speculated that Sasha was forced into silence and forced into marriage for Grey's personal gain. Kay, under this speculation, would have been born to support Grey when and if Sasha somehow died. He did, however, forced Kay into early marriage with a dowry with Lutfi Alfarsi into an even larger entrepreneurship, eager to merge both for more revenue.

Lutfi Alfarsi

Currently 40 years of age

Alive

The son of Nur Alfarsi and Aliyyah Muna, two very prodigious entrepreneurs of trade. Nur and Aliyyah were near equals in partnership, but instead of being focused on their career they often took up other kinds of jobs as well, such as cooking, business management, and catering. Talents seemed to inherit the family, kids taking up habits of their parents. This applied to Lutfi in many ways.

Aliyyah Muna was an abberant, the males innocent. Aliyyah was able to change the texture & consistency of her skin, to form scales or fur. Aliyyah had been aware of the ability, but never used it or told her family about it. The genes passed on to Lutfi, but he hadn't gotten the ability.

Lutfi was a quick learner, and had a keen memory. He loved to draw and write but he could never perform any physical activities. He inherited the family fortune and married Kay, also receiving a large dowry to merge the entrepreneurships.

Hajar was nearly a miscarriage. Her lungs were nearly defective as a fetus, but with the proper stimuli Hajar was able to live and be born like any other child.

Hajar witnessed a loss of innocence from ages 3-5. The Earthas had expected the new addition to their family to have inherited powers from them, but they hadn't shown. Kay Eartha, as instructed by her father, begun tormenting and abusing Hajar. It begun with hitting and punching and neglecting, to whipping then total torture. Lutfi was against it, but seeing as he had no physical power he felt as if he couldn't do anything.

Ages 6-12, signs of Hajar's power had begun to show. Hindered by fear, they were not shown around her parents and so Hajar was the only one to know. Being naive and not knowing any better, Hajar did not know why she was beat up, so she had no reason to show her parents the skill. Instead, when she got time outside in the backyard (which was rare), she would sneak off as a lizard and swipe away a little snack, small enough to carry back home as a tiny dog. This lasted through the years, and the outside exposure influenced her into her thirteenth year.

It was age 13 when her mother died of mysterious circumstances. Lutfi was put into a state of shock, and instead of taking care of the young Hajar he had hurt her further. It wasn't until then that she had gotten her red eyes, which began to burn for Hajar. Realizing that Hajar had powers from the beginning, Lutfi waited two years to take care of the girl and then sent Hajar on her way to the University of the Deviant, to further hone her skills and soon become the successor of the family she had not been believed to be.

Name: Lily Brooks

Age: 14

Classification: Unclassified

Superpower: Clone; Lily can create a kinetic clone as fast as she wants, and this clone syncs up to what Lily wants. They have physical presence and can attack or block or help in any way Lily wants.

Limits/Drawbacks: Lily’s clones cannot self-sustain, and will vanish. The amount of time they can exist is proportional to how long Lily prepares them. They also look very different, so using her clones as decoy in that way can only work on abnormal senses. (Infrared vision or motion detectors, not color detection) She can make one comfortably, and in succession. However, she can only make few at a time before her powers drain her. Also, she cannot summon more than three at a time. See the Spider-man pic for reference. Lastly, she can be disabled by electromagnetic frequencies of extreme UV and higher (X-rays, Gamma, etc) and cannot be in direct sunlight for too long. The more powerful the radiation, the harder she’s hit.

Bio:

Lily Brooks is the daughter of an unhappy marriage. Her parents were together for almost ten years, but they seem to only have loved each other for one. Lily was considered the miracle child, since her mother had suffered a miscarriage and was told that she could not have children. Her parents were beyond overjoyed when Lily was born, healthy and miserably crying, because Lily was born a normal baby. Growing up, Lily had a normal life, except for a few oddities. For one, she was never allowed to be outside for extended periods of time, unless she was in a car or a building. Additionally, she was never allowed to get an X-ray, which caused difficulties at the dentist’s.

Lily’s parents grew apart, for reasons unknown to Lily at the time. Finally, when Lily was seven years old, her parents divorced messily. Both were unwilling to leave the house, and both seemed to have legitimate reasons to keep it. When it was finally resolved that the house should belong to the guardian of Lily, the focus of the quarrel turned to Lily. For a 7-year-old girl, that was a lot of stress. Lily started staying away from home, trying to ignore the passive-aggressive attempts of her parents. Both mother and father were trying to “bribe” Lily, as it were.

At the age of 9, during one of her impromptu sleepovers at her friends', Lily was pressured into talking about her parents. Lily, frustrated, told her friends about the seemingly endless quarrel between her mother and father. Lily’s friends felt threatened by Lily and her growing self-hate, and started distancing themselves from her, not realizing how much that would hurt her. Lily started becoming more angry, and developed a horrible temper. She got into fistfights with the boys, where she discovered that she was surprisingly strong. Things got out of hand when she nearly strangled one of the children. She was about to turn 10.

Lily ran away from the scene. Some of the teachers and eventually police officers chased to catch her, but Lily discovered she was faster than most people as well. However, not fast enough to outrun a police car. But when the officers managed to corner her into an alley, despite the officers’ attempts to coax her, Lily accidentally activated her powers for the first time, summoning a clone for a split second, disabling one of the cars. In the confusion, Lily tried to escape, but was arrested and brought into police custody.

While her fate was being determined, Lily’s father visited her. Lily thought he was here to bail her out. Instead, he said that had injected a mysterious serum into the mother while she slept prior to the pregnancy. He had received the serum from a mysterious third party representative, who would not reveal his identity. In his desperation for a child, Lily’s father used it, despite the representative’s warning that Lily would never be normal. She would be more powerful than the average human, but she’d also have genetic tampering which would cripple her. Usually, this makes the subject more subject to high electromagnetic frequencies.

Lily’s father profusely apologized to Lily, who was furious. In her fury, Lily caused an explosive series of clones and managed to escape. But the clones she had created exhausted her, and she blacked out in an alleyway. She woke up later, tied to a hospital bed, and a man staring at her. The man explained that he was the third party representative, and that he was here to train her. Lesson 1, he said, was that Lily could only create clones if she could supply enough kinetic energy. Lily barely heard it through all of the torture.

She managed to break her bonds by blinking rapidly and twitching her fingers profusely. Eventually, she was able to make the smallest shimmer of a hand to help her loosen one of the bonds. It was a tiny step, but eventually, Lily made it easier and easier for her to escape. She broke out, and found the torturer who started it all. Before she got her revenge, the man calmly knocked her out with a laser pointer. Lesson 2: she was susceptible to focused UV radiation. Through these “training sessions,” Lily refined her powers for three years. Finally, when she succeeded in escaping, she massacred the staff hired to contain her. But the man was nowhere to be found. She then began searching for him, ruthlessly slaughtering anyone in her way, but only people she needed to. To her dread, it was starting to seem like the man had never existed at all. When the man is dead, she’d find her parents and show exactly how much she appreciated their company. She's calmer now, but she will not rest until they are dead.

Basically, Lily is from an unhappy family. Her mother was injected with a serum, which mutated the child, Lily. She got into a lot of trouble, getting into fights, and at the age of 10, was arrested by the police. After her father told her everything about the serum, Lily broke out berserking. She was kidnapped by the suppliers of the serum and was tortured for her training sessions. She finally escaped, as a form of graduation, and is now looking to seek vengeance on the people who hurt her. She's calmed down a bit, but her frustration is still there.

In terms of personality, Lily is silent and can be unresponsive, but if you continue to disturb her, she will not hesitate to get you out of the way. If you persist, then she will kill you, if she deems it necessary. She has many doubts about what she does, and her morality often clashes with her needs to survive and avenge herself. She is emotionally and psychologically pretty unstable. Strangely, despite all of this, Lily can be very quick to trust. Even more bizarrely, upon forming a strong bond with another person, she becomes extremely suspicious of them, making Lily hard to be friends with. When she's benevolent to you, it can be quiet nice, and she can be understanding. But unless you're her close friend, she is extremely difficult to be around. The fact that she never stayed in one place also makes it hard, but anyway.

Name: Katherine Blanche Alexandrie

Title: Harmony

Age: 24

Class: Alumni

Superpower: Power of the Heart (Blood Control)

  • Can bleed herself and manipulate her blood to make it into solid objects, including sharp weapons, so long as they remain in contact with her body.
  • Can control her blood while inside her body to help assist it in clotting wounds and the like.
  • Can make her blood take on unnatural qualities, such as making it temporarily acidic or combustible when it exits her body.
  • With enough study, she can control her blood if it survives in another source (such as a transfusion or injection), using the abilities listed above.

-> Drawbacks

  • Is limited by the blood in her body.
  • Can only absorb back blood that is kept in constant contact with her and can be 'deposited' back in the wound it was created from. (Example: If she cuts her arm and makes a blood sword that stays in her hand, she can let the blood seep back into the arm wound when it has no use).
  • Blood transfusions require time to acclimate to her body and come under her control unless they come from her twin sister.

Bio: Katherine wanted not to be her father, but to be of the same kind as him.

This would later drive her into forming an identity, and was first born one fateful day. A Thursday, full of bright summer heat, Katherine and her family, linked hand-in-hand down the sidewalk, had gone out for an hour's walk when the father was called away to deal with a nearby arson. But his leaving was all part of a terrorist group's nefarious plan. As soon as her father left her side, promising to return in "only a moment", Katherine and her two siblings were kidnapped and their mother brutally injured.

It wasn't their father, but his leader that eventually saved them from a cold storage room. Nonetheless, the sensation of her father's strong arms around her filled the toddler Kath with striking warmth. And the words he said then have stuck permanently in Kath's mind; she would never forget them.

"You're safe... You're safe..." A sob sent a tremor through his powerful body. "Don't be scared... Don't cry... Daddy'll keep you safe. He'll keep everyone safe."

The fact that he hadn't been the one to save them didn't register; the fact that he was there holding her did. Kath replaced the memory of the leader's face with her father's, the emotional blur separating her memory from her sister's. She wanted to be like her daddy. She wanted to help keep everyone safe, to prevent situations like her mother strapped to a hospital bed, not coming home, not being able to wake up. Kath spent all preschool seeking justice and trying to awaken some latent ability, believing somehow that she'd be able to solve problems more completely if she uncovered one. She dragged Katriane along with her crazy stunts, which included throwing themselves off the monkey bars or sticking their heads into hornet's nests. The worst was when Kath discovered that sticking a fork in an electric socket caused pain, and, desiring to control electricity, exposed herself to more shock therapy than most would recommend.

In that incident, Kath ended up chomping off half her tongue. Blood was everywhere; she couldn't speak for a whole weak. Instead, Katriane spoke for her, voicing Kath's thoughts as often as her own, and thus Kath's younger sister's special ability was recognized. Kath was terribly jealous, striking a hole in their onetime companionship. And her daredevil stunts turned unreasonably perilous, taking a toll on her recovering mother's mental health.

And when father left them for a lovelier woman, a sudden change came over their mother. Her once soft coddling became fierce discipline, a feigned yet convincing strength. And the two girls and their elder brother were subject to it. Kath grew pas her initial jealousy, the mutual hardship overcoming what might've been bitterness, and forgot even her own desires and prideful dreams. Nonetheless, Kath discovered her power by accident years later, on her 14th year of age.

Their family had recently moved out to the country, and manual chores had become a part of their daily life, and peril. She'd cut herself on the edge of a tractor's inner blades -- it sprung to life when she'd jerked free a lodged thick branch within. The flesh of her arm was torn to shreds, blood streaming as waterfalls, all the flesh and muscle visible and torn. The sight sent Kath reeling back, sickness blocking her vision and churning her stomach. She fainted, briefly, awakening in a pool of her own blood and surrounded by a clustering of her fatherless family's faces. Her sister's stood out the sharpest.

Kath wanted to bring her comfort, made a groggy effort to reach her torn limb towards her, and instead the blood itself responded, levitating, coalescing onto Katriane's cheek.

The rest was a blur of images and scents. Transfusions and doctor examinations later, Kath was released from the hospital, her arm still a globby piece of flesh, but reconstructing nonetheless.

With inhuman capability discovered, Katherine's chidish desires were reborn and left her at a loss. She now had a picture, a goal, a sensation, really, of a future she desired to accomplish. But it was nothing so tangible that Kath could take steps towards realizing it. So she was stuck at a standstill, paralyzed by her to desire to do and ignorance in which direction to take.

Philosophy, Theology, and History were therefore doven into during her high school career, and she immersed herself in them while seeking that answer, and settled upon this one mentality.

"I must form the world into a land of harmony by ridding it of evil."

She defined evil as "selfishness" and goodness as "self-sacrifice". She believed harmony in society was born out of the denial of the self.

And this determined Katherine's path, filling her with undeniable resolve and spurring on her every future action -- forming her life toward helping those in need. And no problem was too small.

With her drive to succeed and means to overcome a lack of diligence, Kath formed herself into a solid ball of reaching after ideals and becoming her own ideal. She gained the rank of classified alumni by tenacity and tireless effort.

She currently resides in a single bedroom apartment in the middle of the ghetto, her homemade superhero outfit, and a relentless drive for justice.

Name: Gus Triongarlas

Title: "The Silent Chaos King"

Age: Unknown (Closest age estimate: 114)

Classification:
Alumni

Superpower: Biomanipulation: Gus can transform into whatever he absorbs or hears. Gus has a mutated version of the power, where when he touches a substance he can morph into it, but it can also affect biological targets as long as their not humans. Gus can become armored, and combat ready in seconds, but it all comes from a single source. If he stays in a form long enough he will start to mutate further and break down. If Gus becomes a material he can "body walk" through such material, so if he becomes wood running through the forest after someone, he can run straight through the trees.

Limits/Drawbacks:

If Gus is stuck in a form for to long, his armor will start to break apart, he will move more slowly, and he will generally become way weaker, the expatriation date depends on how long he was expecting the battle to be, and how much resources he has. With a quarter he could have enough for about a minute.

If Gus absorbs a substance in another form of matter (Plasma, liquid, Gas) he can only hold his form when attacking or speaking. (He is a Flame/Puddle/Cloud otherwise)

If Gus is in his normal form, he is weak, and can only absorb substances in mass (about the size of a car) Gus also can destroy material though in small quantity, or act like a laser slowly corroding objects.

Gus if hit in the mark of the Ouroboros tattooed into his throat will instantly turn him immobile, and unable to use his powers for a long while.

Gus can turn into humans, but he is a perfect copy. He can't copy powers unless he is HYPER charged, which has only happened one (Required almost the equivalent of 174 Pentawats, or all the sun light striking the Earth converted into energy)

Gus can cross materials only in close proximity when he is morphing, and when he fires a ranged weapon he uses parts of his body, and will require a large source if he wants to fire more.

If Gus wasn't a cloud when he reverted back to normal (He can if you have a large stone (about the size of a human hand) be forced to revert into that material) he will immediately turn into a statue of the Teal eye.

Gus can make minions, but the more advanced material they are made of, the harder they are to manually control. If he does take Manual control, the rest of his minions of lesser quality will become his to command, but his real body will be in a coma like state.

If Gus becomes an Explosive material and detonates, he will take from hours to a few days to reform.

The reason Gus is now a cloud of plasma and a gas reptilian eye is because any other form would require so much extra material to change his vibration it would of killed him, but it also made it so he can easily be captured, used as energy, forced into a transformation, and harder to rapidly switch between forms. Gus has a timer of about 5 minutes before he can change into another substance, however if he is hit when he is eroding he will not be affected by the timer, or he can bypass this healing period by turning into a biological form. (If he is a rotting metal titan for example, slowly leaning forward and the hero kicks him so hard his chest caves in and he falls apart, he can turn into a substance whenever he finds it)

Bio:

Gus was a child in Massachusetts, a decent easy life, he was the slandered over weight kid who was bullied. He moved around a lot, always living in apartments until he became 11, then he got a house in Boston. He went to a public school, but he only remembers their Football team name, the "Boston Tyrants". Close to summer, almost a single month until he escaped this social prison, and his suspension would finally not matter. Gus was suspended for shoving a kid who had bullied him for 2 terms straight, and said to him "He Doesn't deserve to live". It would jeopardize his future, that's what his principle told him, and his parents told him he was "this" close to being sent to jail. The teen was finally closing in... and the destruction happened. After an hour, Gus got up, and kept going up. He was a cloud of darkness, and he was a single teal dragon eye. The reptilian eye stared forward, and he looks at the kid who got him in suspension, bloody and ripped to shreds on the ground. He felt no remorse over the selfish rich boy, who always bragged about things that were illegal to do. He consumed the corpse, the cloud becoming one with the child.

Gus was now the kid he hated the most, but that was alright. He looked at his form, and started to morph, bloat, constrict, adapt. In minutes he was his normal form, but much more social status like. He stood tall, heavy, and looked handsome to the average person. He smiled and said "This world is mine for the taking... all these rules... all the years of wishing and yearning to die... now i finally get my pay..." He was one of the major villains in the crisis, but not for being on the front lines, but as a scavenger. Whenever a body dropped... within hours the body wouldn't be there anymore. Gus became known as the "Silent King Of Crows", and that was all that was known of him. 51 Years later, was a student aiming for Tyrant. Then he was forced into a contract by "Crimson Son". CS stabbed him in his secret mark, and forced him to put all his powers on a timer, to wake up in 49 years. Gus did only the extra powers, but with the contract fulfilled, he knocked CS out cold... but he did not kill him. Since then Gus has been watching people, and found the horrors of Human nature... he now has hatred on the people of this world, but he will care and protect those who share his common interest... but he knows this. The only way to protect the human race from itself, its own natural greed and cruelty... is absolute rule, or Absolute Zero. Gus has the power to do both, and he chooses the one where life may still grow. He will be unleashed.

Bio: Raised by an Abbey Leonardo was an orphan, but to look upon this boy you would not see pity but joy. Leo was a kind child and taught by the religious order in the ways the world was to be and how even a single man or woman could change their fate. While he had no parent the Abbey clergy where kind and the closest family he had. At the age of thirteen he volunteered to dedicate his life within the Abbey, but the head of the church declined the young boy's request advising him to seek the world before he seeks a life of enlightenment.

Per the order of the Abbey Leonardo was sent off to work at a local carpenter shop. The owner took to Leonardo as a son and trained him in the art of wood carving and crafting. Ethan had a knack for the work and made a pretty penny in his works. As the years past he didn't see a need to explore finding comfort in the shop and town. However, like all good stories tragedy would strike and shatter those dreams. A fire had broken out from the shop and the owner's life was lost. While the investigation reported it as an accident Leonardo felt there was something more as a wood carver would not fall to mistakes with fire.

Living back in the Abbey he continued to gather information that would lead him to answers of the carpenter's death. A year later his hunch was right when the town had several more fires break out with no single source and each falling to the same outcome. When the reports of a possible arsonist was spreading Leonardo set out to find the culprit. Leonardo was seventeen at the time and had come to know the alleys and turns of the town. His investigation lead to the slums where the center of the fires all crossed. Keeping hidden he had found the criminals who had brought destruction and sorrow in their wake. A group of rag tag thugs and their leader held up in a run down shack. Their drunken tales of the heists and fires was all Leonardo needed but in attempts to find a guard he was discovered by the leader. A tall dark man with a scar across his face from cheek to jaw.

Tied up and scared the young man's heart raced when the leader had spoke threatening him on what was heard. Leonardo though frighten spoke out what he heard and how their crimes would be sought with justice of the courts. The group laughed as the tall man placed his hand in front of Leonardo. A small heat then a flicker and finally a flame emerged from the palm as it danced in his hand. The young man's eyes where focused knowing now why the cause was hard to trace. The tall man's smile was menacing as he directed the flame towards Leonardo. Claiming the boy would be yet another victim of random fires as he pointed to the decrepit hut they where in. Leonardo struggled as the gang laughed, a sudden desperation filled the young man as he fought for his life.

It was at this time be it a miracle or fate that Leonardo's natural abilities budded. His scream echoed in the hut and his eyes glowed golden drawing in the groups attention including the tall leader. When they shielded their ears and eyes it finally stopped and everything went silent. The young man was ashes in front of them and the hut seemed to reek of smoke. Unsure of what had happen they simply put it off and turned towards the door. Before they could exit a sudden burst of flames blocked them. The raging inferno spread across the walls and ceiling setting the hut into a hellish blaze. The gang looked to their leader who could not explain the cause. Demanding he stop the tall man began to panic to find a reason. He looked to his hand and the flame that was once dancing was now pouring into the floor and feeding the inferno. The gang fearing their lives turned their blades to the leader who tried to stop.

A loud bang and the smell of smoke filled the slum, the guards and local town folk came to stop the source. When the head of the guard entered he was shocked to see several burnt corpses and a man stabbed to death. The sight was gruesome but his focus was quickly changed when he noted the young man tied to a post. His body was limp and though he had no serious injuries he was not awake. Fearing smoke poisoning Leonardo was rushed to the local hospital for care. It took several days before he was able to speak and upon his statement the guards simply looked in wonder.

Leonardo was released but ordered to attend the academy in hopes to control his new ability. During his years he had learned the basics as well as the education provided by the school. Taking to his Abbey's lessons of life and the kindness of the teachers in the academy Leonardo grew up to be a very well respected student. Upon his graduation he was honored as a top student and given freedom to proceed into the world to do good. He now continues to work for the order doing missions to improve society and prevent others from experiencing loss or sorrow. From orphans, from loss, to loved and provided Leonardo has made it his goal to bring good will and hope to all he can.

Personality: Leonardo is a very calm and honest individual. Sometimes his honesty is too straightforward and can get him into some unique issues. Still he is very loyal to his friends and has a soft spot for children especially orphans. Always seeking to help he cares for no gains or reward. This manner however causes many issues as he is seen as unapproachable or too trusting in others. This is mainly due to his upbringing and as such has been a very difficult issue for him to adjust to.

Extra: Leonardo has a weakness for kittens and has been known to bring strays he finds which has left many landlords weary of the man.

Name:

Gaspard John Iscariot

Title:

The Praetor

Age:

24

Classification:

Alumni - Sidekick

Superpower:

Telekinesis

Gaspard can move things with his mind. Details in Limits/Drawbacks.

Limits/Drawbacks:

The ability is rather weak, and he can only lift and use actual telekinesis on small objects, otherwise the ability is better used as a way to accelerate or give small boosts to things, like give himself a bit of a boost to dodge an attack, or accelerate thrown objects.

He doesn't have to see what he's trying to affect, but there can be no solid surface between himself and what he's trying to affect, unless that surface is so weak he can break it.

His ability gets weaker the farther from him the object he's trying to affect is, and the maximum distance where the effects of his telekinesis is still noticeable is 57 meters, but it's effective range is only 29 meters, but it's a struggle to affect things there too. Example: He could nudge a pencil slightly to the side with enormous effort at 57 meters, and he could lift a pencil with enormous effort at 29 meters. (Just tell me if you believe it's too much, I feel like it could be too much myself)

He can use the telekinesis to push on objects, but he only has about three fourths of his strength at a meter(So using his phyiscal body would be more convenient) half his physical strength at 5 meters, about a third at 10, about a fourth at 15, about an eighth at 20, about a twentieth at 25, and about a fiftieth at 29, yet it still feels like he's using his full strength, so it's tiring.

Bio:

Gaspard had a bit of a troubled childhood. His mother was an unclassified aberrant, and she truly lived up to the norm. She was not a nice woman. She was part of a smaller gang who mugged, robbed, stole, murdered, and got high. His father left him to his fate with his mother when he was only 4 months old, and he had to live in a dirty disgusting environment for the first years of his life. There was days he didn't get any food at all, and there were days he was threatened by his mother for making too much noise when he whined about hunger, or pain. It was, however, the only life he knew, and he didn't know that other people had it better than him. He didn't have any friends, and he only hung around with her gang members. Some of them were relatively nice, he was a kid after all, but there were those who tortured him for fun. At the age of 6 they had him doing drug trades, and he got into trouble many times, but him being a naïve kid.. Well, he had no idea what was really going on.

Fortunately, when he turned 8, his mother, and almost everyone in the gang, was killed during a gang fight, which got a lot of attention from media. It was all over the news for a while, and thanks to that, his father came back to look for him, and found him in his mother's apartment, almost starved to death. Everything went well after that. His father took care of him after that, and he got to go to a regular school, with regular people, and do regular things. His traumatic childhood had put a mark on him though. He had troubles integrating into a normal system, and he was described by teachers as "very cruel" or "misunderstood", which were both true. He only communicated in the ways he'd known from his previous peers, and never actually meant anything bad against his fellow students. He wasn't the biggest guy, however, so his arrogant and mostly rude behaviour made him quite the outcast, and rather bullied too.

He was bullied all the way from 8-13, despite the fact that he barely minded it. He became very cold and uncaring through these years, and more than once he got into fights that ended in him getting serious consequences. He started getting involved with the "bad" kids, and got into some really dodgy business. Everything started to look like it was going downhill, and it looked like he was going to turn out like his mother, his father had a serious talk with him, and then grounded him for a month. This obviously didn't sit right with Gaspard, so the first chance he got, he ran away from home. After a few days of regret and hunger, he gave it up though, and reluctantly came back home and apologized to his father. His father who was nothing like his mother, quickly accepted him back, and seemed relieved instead than angry.

It almost seemed like a turning point. Well, at least he distanced himself from his 'dodgier' friends, and got some real ones, but the real change came one day when he was invited out to a something of a field day by a couple of his friends. He'd usually decline such an offer, but he felt adventurous that day. And so it turned out, during a game of horseshoes, that by concentrating on the pole, he never missed a single shot. His friends were impressed at first by his extreme accuracy, but eventually they grew tired of it. One of them tried to pull a prank on him, and smacked the horseshoe out his hand just when he was about to throw it, and to everyones surprise, the horseshoe flew at an arc, and still hit the pole. Gaspard was shocked. He had no idea he had powers, even though he knew his mother had had them. Everyone had just assumed he hadn't carried the genes.

Knowing he had powers though, he felt ashamed at first. He hated his mother for what she'd done to him, and he didn't want to turn out like her, so he made a real effort to try and become a better person. Slowly, over the years, he turned from the path he was on, and into a slightly better person. As a good samaritan, he even went to the academy for people like himself, where he was also influenced well by the rest of the people in his team.

He graduated, and got classified as a Hero. This was the greatest victory for him, and it showed him that he had a certain power over his own life. He decided to stick with the Hero league, since what else was there for someone like him? A regular life? Pfff, that's for people with less cool powers. He gotta try to help out.

tl;dr

Gaspard had a crappy childhood with a druggy criminal mom, who treated him like poop until he was 8 when she died in a gangfight. He was taken in by his father at that point, and lived a regular life. He was bullied in school and turned to the dodgy kids, and did dodgy stuff. He was screamed at by his dad for doing dodgy stuff, and he gave up on it somewhat. He found out he had superpowers during a game of horseshoes, and that's when he really started becoming a good samaritan. He went to the academy and got trained and stuff, and turned out to be a hero. So now he helps out because he thinks a life outside the academy is a life for plebs or something.

Name:

Known as Chloe Riverson

Previous name unknown

Age:

23

Classification:

Unclassified

Superpower:

Beast Manifestation:

The ability to turn the tattoos on her body into living creatures with limited sentience.

  • Can place her Will over creature creations, but cannot completely control them. Her Will is usually to insist upon protection against certain enemies, but creature will act on its own to fulfill Will.
  • Creature creations are limited to real-life creatures, such as a lion or tiger or eagle.

Limits/Drawbacks:

  • Can only summon one creature at a time.
  • Cannot create imaginary beasts.
  • She must have a tattoo/drawing of the creature on her body in order to create it.
  • When a beast is summoned, the tattoo of the creature disappears from her body while it is “alive.” The tattoo will reappear when the creature is returned. The awakening and putting to sleep causes pain similar to when she received the tattoo.
  • A beasts’ creation takes little concentration, but the longer that it is “awake” the more energy that is zapped from her. Think of it like a reverse I.V. The most she has ever held a creature awake was ten minutes, and she slept for 3 days afterwards. When she woke up, she also ate about as much food as she could get her hands on.
  • When one of her manifestations dies, she feels pain similar to being shot or a hard punch, depending on creature death. The area around the “dead” beast tattoo is usually badly bruised and the tattoo is removed for good.

Bio:

Personality: Blunt, Childish, Nonviolent, Creative, Idealist

Chole was born from two Aberrant parents. Her father controlled animal's will and her mother created illusions. They married while the attended the University at age 21 and 22. It took ten years and thirty-three miscarriages later, Chloe was born. As a baby, she showed no immediate signs of having powers, but was assigned a guardian regardless. The Hero, named Spaniel Iques, controlled plants and was generally a very stoic man. As Chloe's mentor, he watched over her, and trained her in combat before her ability showed its signs. She grew up thinking that fighting plant monsters was normal for every child, as she didn't interact with many other children until she started public school.

When she did start going to school, she had asked one of the children she was with what their power was. She was immediately sent to the office. That's when it was explained to her that not everyone was like them, and it was impolite to mention powers when they didn't apply to everyone. She didn't understand why it was such a big deal, but she did what her parents asked.

By age fourteen, her power emerged. She was drawing on her skin, like all the other girls in her class. Then, her little butterfly drawing came alive, crawled out of her skin and fluttered about the classroom. After a few moments of wonder, one of the boys in class thought it would be funny to tear the butterfly's wings off, and when he did, Chloe screamed in pain. The spot where the butterfly had been originally drawn turned red and bruised. She was sent to the office until her parents arrived. After a few experiments at home that tested her abilities capabilities, Chloe regularly practiced her power under her mentor's supervision.

Then, he allowed her to join him on one of his missions to get rid of an Unclassified threat. With her combat skills, she was only supposed to work as a temporary sidekick. Spaniel had asked her to stay behind while he finished his mission, but like any 15 year old, she didn't. She watched from around the corner of a building as he killed a woman who had begged for mercy prior. At that moment, she wasn't sure she liked the Alumni. She sneaked away before her mentor saw her, and from that moment until she was 18, she saw many similar scenes. She didn't think the Alumni were right in how they eliminated the Unclassified without question.

So, in order to avoid attending the academy, she ran away from home not long after her eighteenth birthday. She never stayed in one place for long, often moving from city to city in order to avoid mind readers and the heroes that have been charged with her capture and termination. After a close call six months later, Chloe found a gentleman that helped her change her identity, and trained her on how to avoid mind-readers, as he was a weak, Unclassifed mindreader himself. She was since known as Chloe Riverson, and the mindreader erased any memory of her previous name.

She once met a man that could control various species of feline in her venture. After becoming friends with him, she lived alongside him for almost a year. Even though he was a hero, he seemed to neglect quite a bit of his duties, and didn't seem to recognize Chloe as one of the listed Unclassified threats. One day, she noticed a few extra heroes paying attention to the gentleman, and she decided that was her cue to leave. The hero insisted that she take the tabby, Mr. Thumps, who had been hanging around her quite a bit since she started living there. He told her that the cat seemed attached to her, and he wouldn't feel right if she left without some sort of protection from him. She wasn't sure how a little tabby cat was going to protect her, but she wasn't one to question a man who claimed to know everything about his feline friends.

She's been living as a nomad since, slowly growing in her power while avoiding the league of heroes and league of villains. She expects she will be found one day, but until then, she lives in constant danger. Chloe came into the city after she found out about an underlying rebellion among the Unclassifieds that had started to spark. She's curious about the development, and wants to see if their motive matches her own.

Title:

"Metal Maiden"

Age: 23

Classification: Alumni (Villain League: Anti-Villain)

Superpower: Metal Shaping- the ability to mold and reshape metal she touches

Limits/Drawbacks:

  • Can shape any metal (copper, iron, titanium, etc.) into another object. More intricate manipulations are understandably more difficult to produce. Knowledge of the object she is trying to shape is key to utilizing this ability.
  • Knows upon touch if the object has a metallic composition; if so, she can determine the approximate strength, size, and other basic information crucial to reshaping.
  • Can meld together two or more sources of metal, creating an alloy or shape of mixed metallic composition.

  • Ability is limited by what metal is available. If she only has a small piece of iron, she can only create a small object or a larger, more thin and fragile item. Under no circumstances can she create metal.
  • Not immune to any side effects that close proximity to dangerous metals might produce (such as radiation).
  • Must be able to touch the metal in question; sight alone is not sufficient. If she loses her grasp on the metal, it will stay in whatever state it was when it departed her grasp.
  • When pushed to her limitations, she will display side effects of metallic toxicity depending on what material she most recently interacted with.

Biography:

Luna was born to two Innocents- her mother didn't know her parents were secretly Aberrant. It created quite the ruckus when at three years old Luna excitedly showed her father that she was "improving" her toy cars. After several arguments, the maternal grandparents in question 'fessed up' to Luna's true heritage. Her parents (who were eccentric by everyone's standards) drilled into her that such unnatural talents should be hidden. For years Luna grew up thinking she was alone in her secret ability and that she was some sort of freak of nature; her parents carefully sheltered her from knowledge of the league until she was a teen. It was in this years she displayed her ability at school in an act of rebellion and frustration. To say the very least, she was quite surprised at the epiphany there were superheroes, villains, and leagues.

As a result of this turning point in her life, she became estranged from her parents emotionally. They viewed her using her abilities as a betrayal of the 'normal' life they lived and wanted for her. While she did well in school, she was determined to explore this new side of her that was no longer forbidden as soon as she reached university age. There was really little choice in the matter- the leagues now knew of her just as she knew of them. No matter how her parents might beg and plead, there was no more "going back to normal."

Luna struggled through the academy. Without the support of her parents she was quite isolated. In her self-imposed solitude she slowly grew anger at everything that had been concealed by her parents. While they might have had their hearts in the right place they were ultimately selfish and bigoted. To them an aberrant was a threatening abomination they could not accept. More importantly, neither one had given her a choice with what life she wanted to embrace. Had they asked her if she wanted to hide things may have turned out much differently. Without anyone to care or hold her back, only her vices were frequently on display: independence to the point of distrusting others, aggression, a violent temper, and a lack of control. She had been so tightly bound for so many years, it seemed the release from these inhibitions may persist through her entire life.

She graduated as a villain and was content with the label- but slowly she was shocked to her senses. Luna realized that she had become the people she disliked most: her parents. She was selfish and arrogant, dismissing the opinions of others and focusing only on herself. In her mind this was the best way of self-preservation... yet she could not reconcile with being the 'bad guy' others saw her as. There were consequences to her indulgences that she did not like. In the last couple years she has been reigning herself in and tentatively lowering her barriers. While still abrasive and angry, she listens to others, tries to form friendships, and most importantly has taken up a personal code of honesty.

Without a strong leader, "Metal Maiden" does not feel compelled to follow her league's tenants closely. She has a well-documented problem with authority, but she takes particular issue with anyone that commands her do things that might perpetuate this "villain" label. As such she has quietly become involved in helping unclassifieds as she sees fit and has actually made a couple hero friends that can see past her title. At her core, Luna is actually a nice girl that wants to help others... hindered mostly by a terrible temper and unconventional and ever-changing sense of morality.
