First off, thanks for the complement on how I'm running my Robotech games. I do try my best to make a good run. Second, I have absolutely no idea about the system, but if you are willing to work with me, perhaps I will get into this.

If needs be Sherwood, I'm willing to help you out as much as you helped me out with the Robotech Games, System wise. That is, of course- if you want to play.

As Sherwood says, I'm interested but have zero% knowledge of the game or the system.

The dice are a bit funky- it's kind of like rolling poker hands in D10 Form- but it doesn't take too long to get used to, I don't think.

As for Char Creation- I can do what you did in the Robotech game, and make a few templates, then ask you questions to help customize them, or I can just walk you through the process.

I can roll with that. Just deciding what I like is the issue now. Do I wanna run with powered armor a la MJOLNIR suits, light mecha a la Landmates or my personal hankering for the frikken' huge EVA? Oh, the agony of decisions....

Captain Hesperus

So... I'm new to this site but I've been trying to find a Cthulhutech game since the first book came out. If you have the room I'd make an application for this.

I wonder how much the Hecatoncheires system cybernetics would eat our souls.

Tagers would be an Eldritch Society game- which, while I could run that.... I'll be putting it to a Vote, soon, I think. And Darsk- we'll see, y'know? I'll have to put up a Poll.. how do I do that again..

Also- the Engels /do/ come in various sizes, as I said.

Of course, they pack stupid firepower, and regenerate, but, yeah...

Gah- how do I insert a Poll when the thread's already up?

Edit the first post, select 'More Options...' from the buttons at the bottom and the poll options should be near the bottom of the page.

Captain Hesperus

Well.. Okay- say you have a Tenacity of 10. That gives you a Tenacity Feat skill, of 5. That means you roll 5D10 on a Tenacity Check.

Now... For an example:

[dice]4085[/dice]

On that roll, you'd keep the 10, because its the highest- or, you could choose to keep the 1, 2, 3 straight, but that would only be 6.

Then you would add the relevant stat- in this case, Tenacity- for a total of either 20 or 16, depending on which you chose to keep.

Or another example roll- you have an Marksman Skill of Four, and want to fire your Mecha's guns. This is a Perception based skill, so.. say you have a perception of Eight.

[dice]4086[/dice]

Again- you keep the ten, add your stat. And... that was both a good roll and a bad- because what you really want, are straights, IE... to roll on four dice, a 5, a 6, and a 7- that would get you an 18 base, and be great. But a Ten is about as good as it gets without rolling a straight, so those where both respectable rolls. Two of a Kind and Three of a Kind and so on are also valid rolls.

Also- Cptn? The Poll option isn't there.

How odd, it is for me when I do it. Maybe it's an Admin advantage...

Tell you what, here's the dialog: http://grab.by/uosi

Tell me what options you want and I'll up the poll.

Captain Hesperus

Okay. Option List.

Eldritch Society Game- Tager Pack

OIS Game- Kill Squad

OIS Game- Operatives

NEG Military- Scouts

NEG Military- Front-Lines

NEG Military- Mixed

Engel Squadron- Purist

Engel Squadron- Mixed

I thought the system was pretty cool during my short run as a Nazzadi Engel pilot, back when @The Fuzz was gloriously tormenting us all with night-gaunts in the walls. I hear it gets a bit weird at high-levels, though. I suspect there might errata, however.

I intend to fudge the rules if they dont make sense, later on. That said, I have yet to run in with any real issues, outside of just how /fucked/ you are if you fight anything integrity scale without being so yourself.

Could you elaborate on the options a bit?

Alright.

If I run an Eldritch Society game, it won't be a Mecha any more- you will be a pack of Tagers, which equates to being able to, at will, turn in to a horrific monster that, while still Vitality scale, is generally about as deadly as the Vitality Scale gets. The pack might have one or two fully human members, but unless you are a Para-Psychic or Sorcerer, you will eventually be a Tager, or get left behind balance-wise.

The OIS Kill squad, is the Power Armor and Light Mecha team, called in by the OIS Operatives when they've found a target- you are the wrath of god called in to finish out the cultist base once the ground operatives have found it. Lots of Urban and even indoors combat, here.

The OIS Operatives, are the people who find the targets to call that band of Merry Asskickers in on, the gatherer's of Intel who often end up fighting the infantry and enemy agents. Low Mecha here, too.

An NEG Military Scout team, would be mostly the lighter mecha, with one or two medium /maybe/ for fire support, behind enemy lines gathering intel for the bigger mecha.

An NEG Military Team on the Frontlines? You're a band of Mech Pilot's on the frontlines of the war against either the Migou, Rapine Storm, or Cult of Dagon. There will be a lot of ass-kicking here, and.. uhh... let's just say this is the campaign where you are /reliably/ outgunned.

An Mixed NEG Military Team consists of a balance between scout missions, Front-Lines combat, and possibly Spec-Op's type missions later on.

An Purist Engel Squadron, is a force of just Engels. You will be facing the nightmares of Mankind, and the most formidable of enemy Forces, from the start. Sanity is a major factor here- you are Badasses in Badass Mecha, fighting /horrific/ monsters and nightmares.

An Mixed Engel Squadron is as above, but maybe with an normal mech or two thrown in with a Para-Psychic Pilot or something- it's an Engel game where not everyone /has/ to pilot an Engel, and where you are liable to get some time on the ground as well.

I also seem to recall that 1's are bad and if half your dice are 1's you are hammered--so the example where you rolled 2 dice and got two 1's for instance.

I voted OIS ops but a mixed Engel game would not be bad either.

Voted for a Mixed Engel Game. Don't suppose you're accepting more people in on the fun are you? Would most definitely love to play an Engel pilot

I would not only allow more people- but the whole point of the "Mixed" Part is exotic things like the Nazzadi Mecha.
