Fight For Humanity! Fight for Survival! Fight for a Chance!

"The Mi-Go, Deep Ones, Elder Gods, Outer Gods, Great Old Ones; they thought that when they attacked, when we saw them, when they returned, that we'd fall over and die, run away screaming, kneel maybe. Well, they may have studied humanity for thousands of years, maybe longer- maybe as long as we've existed... But Clearly? They didn't learn Shit about humanity." -Ace Engel Pilot Rodrick Duvalln, in response to his squad-mates Panicking over the situation as the Esoteric Society of Dagon closed in. They promptly rallied, and disposed of the Kaiju that was inbound, along with it's full Mecha Support Squad.

“Aeon War Syndrome isn’t losing your mind. It’s losing

your friends. It’s losing your family. It’s losing

whatever hope you might have had left.

“They say war is hell. I’ve seen hell. This is worse.” -
Veteran of the First Aracnotech War, current Trooper on the Line against the Rapine Storm Dwayne Roosevelt

Basic Premises of the Setting: The Cthulhutech setting, is an science fiction/fantasy setting inspired by a horrific mix of the Cthulhu Mythos, and Assorted Anime. It has been compared to Neon Genesis Evangelion and the Cthulhu Mythos put into a blender and set to "Speed Whip".". It also has tones of Robotech, at times- especialy in the Near-Human alien race known as the Nazzadi- and many, many other Anime. Another Apt statement, was "Evangelion+HP Lovecraft+Robotech+Guyver+AKIRA+Warhammer 40,000=this."

Screw it, I'm linking the TV-Tropes Page for the game. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/TabletopGame/CthulhuTech

There you go.

I'll do further Explanations if and when I get interest.

I REALLY HOPE I GET INTEREST.

@Sherwood @Captain Hesperus -I was hoping you two and maybe some of the others might be interested- and you deserve to be a Player some time, Sherwood, especially with all the hard work you put in to Running the Robotech games. Y'know, if you want to. And Captain- I just was hoping you'd sign on, cus I know you're a damn good RPer.

@WhoeverTheHellElseWant's to Come- Do!

This is going to be a Mecha focused RP set in the Cthulhutech Setting. I'll either be using the Cthulhutech Rule books- of which I have most- or the Gurps 3E Rulebooks- of which I have all. It will be one of a few campaign Idea's I have.

One- OIS Kill-Team: This places you in a lot of urban settings- you are the Mecha/Power Armor equipped, highly lethal, Kill-Teams of the Office of Internal Security. Your main opponents will be cultists and terrorist groups- and the horrific monster's they summon. This is also the campaign the most likely to spend the longest out of their Mecha.

Mainstream NEG Military: You are Mecha Pilots on the front lines of one of the various wars being fought by Humanity for it's survival- you fly Good Ol' Fashioned Human and Nazzadi Mecha into combat against things man was not meant to know. This campaign will likely consist of military missions leading up to more and more dangerous situations.

Engel Squadron: Engels are kind of like the EVA's from Neon Genesis Evanglion- except, with a sane designer. That is to say, theirs more than four (Hell, theres around Twelve /types/), they come in small, medium, large, and FUCK YOU ALIENS, and they can be produced at an semi-reasonable rate. That said, they still drive the PIlot half mad, and are made from Cloned Eldritch Monster, Cyborged and altered with Human and Nazzadi DNA. On the other hand? They are /fucking awesome/ death-machines. They are among the few things capable of going toe to toe with even the mighty Star-Spawn of Cthulhu, and the most advanced of Migou Mecha. They are, some would say, humanities greatest hope. This will likely resemble the military campaign, but taken up to 11, and with a good deal more "Horror" involved.

Scout Force: You are an small, elite force of scout-pilots on the front against either the Migou, or the Rapine Storm. I get to have some real /fun/ with this one, as you are going to be in the lighter mecha, behind enemy lines. You will see horrific things, and there will be segments outside your Mecha.

This sounds fascinating. I loved Adeptus Evangelion, but had never heard of Cthulhutech. I'm definitely interested.

I have the base Chthulutech book. It is awesome the way everything in a sci-fi horror gets linked together. This is worth playing. Count me in, but it will depend a little bit on what is happening on the date you start up.

Woohoo!

I am more than willing to help anyone who doesn't know them with the Cthulhutech rules. What is more- I love the setting enough to put up with the rules, yknow?

I would prefer to run Cthulhutech in it's own system, I'll admit.

Also- Tager's... That'd be it's own campaign. That said, if everyone want's to do that? AWesome. I'd run that, too.

Serious, without being /too/ grim. Depends which campaign you guys go with, honestly- the OIS, Eldritch Society, and Engel Campaigns will be the most.... exposed to horror and grimdarkness.

That said? Cthulhutech is a setting.... where humanities condition can best be summed up with "Ohhhhhhh SHIT."

And yet... All that said? Read the quote I opened this with. Hope, because "Fuck you! Humanity!" Is also a pretty damn big theme- especialy after all that Anime comes in. As notated by the good Pilot Rodrick- Humanity. Does. Not. Give Up.

Grimdark with a side of Underdog. Okay. Some place I could look for more background information? I'm intrigued, but no character ideas are really springing to mind. I need a world for them to live in.

Well- I linked the TV Tropes Page, so theres that.... as for the rest- I'm trying to think of a Legal Source, other than typing it all out myself in a slow and arduous process- each of the .. four ro five, rulebooks I have acess to, is about Half Lore, y'know?

That said- here's one place... another will be forthcoming once I know I have a solid amount of interest

And here's the Wiki. http://www.cthulhutech.com/

That helps; thank you. I don't dare open tvtropes links.

And I think that the parts of the setting that interest me most are the not-Mecha-focused ones. Thanks anyway.

Fixed that for you.

Personally I prefer non-mecha but am just as willing to run around in murderbots. I enjoy the setting and system.

Also interested, provided i can actually make a working concept. OIM brings me more attention, probably because I'm not that savy on mechas.

Now that I reconsider the OIS concept does sound the coolest with some Mecha but not as the primary focus.

Actually I'd love to do OIS as well. Lots of neat things to do with that plus the power armor.

Ahhh OIS... like the FBI, but with far less "Citizen's Rights". Kinda CIA'ish... except, y'know, against an enemy where it's all generally quite justified.

Just a note- I won't be online /at all/ tomorrow, on Sunday- I have a RL DnD Game. So- I'll be back to check how this is doing on Monday, may make the Submission then.
