It was this secret that led him to move from Japan as a young adult to Fortune Hills, where he made himself useful tending to the forgotten graveyard. He has now lived in the town for over two hundred years and is one of its longer-lasting residents. He carries himself as a Kitsune outright with no Gumiho heritage and will deny any such thing if ever found out.

    fiona's presence carries a quiet, almost unnerving intensity. her face is hard, with sharp cheekbones that catch the light in an almost wolfish way, making her look both fierce and detached. the hollow planes of her cheeks and the sharpness of her jawline give her a harsh, almost brooding appearance. her lips rarely curl into a smile, and when they do, it’s long, toothy and fleeting, demonstrative but unsure. her natural expression is one of quiet defiance, a barely-there scowl that makes her seem perpetually irritated, even when she's at peace. her thin eyebrows always furrow, giving her an even more intimidating, arrogant air. it’s clear that she doesn’t care much for the opinions of others, preferring to keep her thoughts to herself, which only adds to her demeanor.

    fiona greystroke is nothing that her parents expected her to be. she is as tough as nails and fancies herself a bit of a troublemaker. she is someone that isn't afraid to get her hands dirty; able to throw herself entirely into a project. despite this, she can be described as quite reserved and prefers to keep to herself. she is much more shy than people would originally think when they look at her; she's awkward and doesn't know how to speak to others without dying a little bit inside.
    
    the thing with fiona is that she prefers to see herself as more tough than she actually is; she clicks her tongue, she tries to be cool and mysterious, she tries to be more trouble than she is worth but the truth is that fiona is an actress through and through. pretending to be a scholar of historical texts, despite much of the time spending her time behind the desk of the library reading cheesy romance novels. she kind of sticks to herself and hopes that people won't dig deeper and see the fact that she is timid and and awkward and shy and everything not cool. fiona is kind of a loner in that sense and doesn't really talk to people, she claims it's because she doesn't give a shit about people but the truth is that if she even tried to talk to anyone her mouth would become dry and she would end up awkwardly stuttering and feel like she is going to throw up if someone so much as tries to talk to her in any sense that isn't small talk.
    
    the thing with fiona is that, unlike the way she presents herself, she has been very sheltered during her childhood before her parents started taking long business trips without her. she doesn't know how to talk to people without feeling a sense of lost on what she is supposed to say or do. fiona tries to cover this up by adopting more snark, adding some bite to her bark; she's sarcastic and scornful, and she practices making faces in the mirror in hopes that she would feel and look less awkward than she feels.
    
    fiona has just always felt alone and that is something that lingers with her throughout her life, no matter how many friends she has, no matter how many strangers are in a room with her, no matter how close she is to other people, she just feels like she will never be close enough. they will be laughing and smiling and she'll realize that she doesn't belong here and maybe never did and that is a crushing realization for her. fiona is anxious, no matter how cold and unforgiving she tries to be, and that leads to her thoughts being everywhere. something clear would be happening and she will convince herself it's the opposite if she feels too uncomfortable.
    
    she is convinced that she doesn't belong anywhere and anywhere she does belong has nothing to do with the people in this town. she feels like a weirdo and freak and she tries to claim those things, but the truth is that it makes her feel bad being those things. she resents dresses and cooking and being a housewife, she resents the future that isn't even here yet but is so close, that she acts out in hopes that she can avoid it. admittedly, a lot of her troublesome behavior and cool kid attitude has to do with the fact that she yearns for attention while also resenting it and being uncomfortable when too many eyes are on her. she wants to be seen so badly that she will act like she is something she isn't just to feel like she isn't in the background. the truth is that the biting, snarky, cold, indifferent, stand offish act is nothing but that. an act.
    
    she's like a lost puppy that has been kicked down too many times and doesn't know how to get up but pretends that she does.

    fiona greystroke was born an unwanted child and everyone can see that. her parents were young and dumb; only eighteen when she was born. her mother in particular was horrified, often wondering if she was supposed to love this baby. her parents got married as soon as possible at their families urging and they bought this beautiful, big house that never felt like home. it was perfectly put together, everything in place, it never looked lived in for all of fiona's years. and any time she tried to make it looked lived in, her parents would stare at her in disappointment.
    
    they married and bought a house as if they could love each other when both know they couldn't. growing up for fiona was lonely, she had her parents and cleaning ladies and nannies but she didn't have any friends and her parents rarely took her anywhere. her father loved her, but he didn't like her. he loved her as if he had no choice - and in a way, he didn't. her mother was distant and stern, caring in a way but couldn't look fiona in the eye nor could she hold her when she was born. and these are all things fiona knew; she knew these things and it further made her believe that she is just as unwanted as all her thoughts she say she is.
    
    really, at the end of the day, their household was full of people who never wanted each other. in a way, fiona was a haunted, daunted, unwanted baby that was raised to believe that emotions were not allowed. no hugs, no crying, no laughing. her house and childhood was cold which is part of the reason why fiona pretends to be cold and indifferent because the opposite of those things is something very lonely and emotional and that isn't allowed; not for a greystroke.
    
    due to this, she escaped the coldness by diving into fantasies and comics and other things her parents would probably look down upon. she dreamed a handsome knight would come and rescue her. or a princess proposing that they run away together to escape to her a world where everything is warm. this resulted in her becoming a bit of a hopeless romantic. but the truth is that fiona is in love with love and she has been since she was a child. she longs for warmer days but does nothing to achieve those days and that is her burden to bear.
    
    her parents have been going on trips for as long she can remember. they used to get nannies for her, but slowly, they stopped. they say it's because she is getting older and that she can take care of herself, but she doesn't feel any older. they call her sometimes, and fiona always tries to call them, but she feels like a bother when she tries so it usually just ends up with fiona in a big, empty, cold house and it should feel cool and awesome for someone seeking independence, but really it's just lonely making your own breakfast. and it's too quiet that it leads her thoughts to wander and wander into ugly thoughts that she can't escape from because the house is too quiet and empty and she feels all alone and afraid sometimes.
    
    but she'll never say that; instead she will watch her parents leave with a smile that slips away as soon as their car is gone and she'll brag that her parents leave her alone to the people that were dumb enough to think she was cool until she feels that familiar ball of anxious feelings and she has to dive away and she'll make pancakes every morning and buy the things her parents forgot to get her before they left and she'll live on in this lonely bubble that her family created. because at the end of the day, the greystroke family is just lonely.

    lycanthrope, made not born. in a ginger snappean twist of fate, fiona was a bitten by a werewolf on the night of a full moon right before her thirteenth birthday. under the assumption that she was bitten by a neighbor's dog and afraid of punishment, she kept this from her parents.
    
    the signs first began to manifest in small ways: irritability, soreness, a craving for red meat. then, the hair. thick, wiry hair that would grow in patches across her arms and legs, something she has learned to manage and keep at bay with constant waxing and tweezing. her first transformation on the night of a full moon was one of the most freeing and terrifying things fiona had ever experienced.
    
    she keeps her lycanthropy a tight-lipped secret, not even her parents are aware. on night of the full moon, she disappears into the surrounding forests, and only returns once she's returned to human form.

    • she has an obsession with details that most people would overlook—like matching the color of her shoes to the stitching on her clothes, or organizing her books alphabetically. it's her way of keeping control over things, even if her life feels chaotic.
    • fiona doesn’t drink coffee just for the taste; it’s a full-on addiction at this point. on particularly stressful days, you’ll find her with two or three cups of coffee in hand, each one slightly stronger than the last. her friends know better than to speak to her before she’s had her first cup of the day.
    • fiona might act like she enjoys solitude, but the truth is, she’s not as comfortable with being alone as she lets on. when she doesn’t have someone around to talk to or distract her, her thoughts begin to spiral, and she can’t stand the quiet. that’s why she keeps herself busy with work, even when she’s exhausted.
