Wish: To make it to the bus on time


Backstory: Veronica came to Vanpey to work at the museum there, in the archives that don't get seen by the bustling crowds of people that visit it. She tends to the ancient texts that reside there, processing new texts, sorting them, retrieving texts for those that ask for them, and even doing a little bit of her own analysis of their contents, gathering as much information as she could. Veronica lives by herself in a small apartment about a half hour bus ride away from the museum. Veronica detests crowds, and will go from destination to destination as quickly as possible to the best of her abilities. Veronica signed the contract by accident, when she was running a little late to work, and had the misfortune of making eye contact with the crossroads demon. She assumed that it was one of those sales people trying to make a sale or someone from an organization trying to get people to sign their petition. Anxious to get to the bus on time to get to work, Veronica signed the contract hoping it would make the crossroads demon leave her alone. It did, but when she got asked for a wish she simply blurted out "I just want to get to the bus on time! I'm going to be late!" Soon after she found herself standing at the bus stop, having traveled a block in a mere few seconds. Since the incident with the bus and the contract, Veronica has noticed quite a few oddities whenever she wakes up and is becoming quite bothered by them.

Backstory: He moved into town with only his mother- his dad left them both when Marcus was maybe four. His mother loved him, of course, but she didn't really comprehend how her son could want to be a boy and a girl. Maybe if he just wanted to be a girl, she would've been whatever about the whole thing, but anywho. She loves him nonetheless. There's not really much else to tell about the genderfluid teen.


Besides the fact that he can't shake the scent of smoke when he first wakes up in the morning.


Other: He met the crossroads demon late one night when he was alone, coming home from one of his friend's party where he got more drunk than a seventeen-year-old should (which is, at all drunk). He didn't really see anything wrong at the time, and he signed off his 'unconscious body' for a drunken wish that he didn't remember wishing for but is still content to have.

Name: Olivia Ren

Occupation: Gardener(and a waitress on the side).


Appearance:

Wish: She wished for a greenhouse full of rare and exotic flowers, thinking that the contract was a joke.


Backstory: Olivia grew up around plants. They were always around her, ever since she figured out that she had a green thumb. It felt peaceful to deal with flowers all her life, so that is what she did. She came to this town to tend to a roof garden and stayed because she enjoyed the high view and the quietness of everything. It led to many challenges, but she loved conquering them.


Her life changed when she signed the contract. Some guy came up to her, asking for her to sign it. It had a weird phrase on the top of it, "a wish in return of sacrificing control over thy unconscious body and thy soul" or something of the sort. She laughed about it, even though the guy looked serious, and signed with a flourish. Olivia had simply thought that the man had been playing a joke on her. She had really been oblivious that day.


Olivia wished for the greenhouse because it had been a dream of hers. A greenhouse in a city? It was strange, but then again she liked strange. She hadn't deemed it impossible, even though others did, so she had simply gone along with what she thought was a joke.

Curan was born into a mid-class home. He was raised by a single dad along with his two older brothers and a three younger ones. Like most of his family, he dropped out of high school at 16. It wasn't because he was dumb - he was quite smart - but because of the intense bullying. He would apparently talk to himself. It would annoy the hell out of his father and brothers, who were ready to send him to an asylum. Kids were cruel. They began to feed off his weakness. Due to this, Curan would always get into fights and had to move schools often. It became a chore, so his father had him drop out. Curan took up a job at a popular teen clothing shop. One day, he was walking across an intersection when the crossroads demon approached him. He was exactly the demon Curan was looking for. So, though he could have wished for many things, he wished for the one thing he'd never experienced: to be popular with the female gender.
