Crimson Canines (10x)

"So you lived in the machine region all this time? But why exactly?" Yonsisac Yonsisac

The girls made it to a clearing. There was a huge drop below them. It appeared to be about a 150 foot decent. Jauz begun taking out her climbing gear from her MOLLE and noted to have Marka do the same. She ignored the question. She didn't want to talk about it. The girl was quite curious to find out why she was put from a beautiful mother-ship to the Manchine desert. She tossed her cable over her shoulder and latched it on to her suits climbing latches then secured the anchor by shooting into a rock. "I never chose to live there..." She said blunt with a soft bite. Much like a shark even a soft bite can be enough to kill its prey. And metaphorically that is what she did.
"Lets descend." With that they launched them selves off the ledge and repelled their way to the bottom with a series of jumps off the cliff side wall. the cable feeding through their arms and their gloves getting warm from the friction but not burning or painful.
---
( Yonsisac Yonsisac ask why she ended up on Manchine then)
the glow squirrels were starting to pop around. Something about their exposure to radioactivity. Jauz didn't care. She knew now their terrain was changing. Jauz heard yet another question from Marka.

"Hey Jawz, i been thinking something, if you don't mind me asking but how long have you been friends with Grey? you two seem to know each other pretty well that is for sure" Yonsisac Yonsisac

Jauz stopped in her tracks. She chuckled a bit after what felt like a long pause. She turned around helmet reflecting off the visor of Markas visor. Her eyes were not visible through the thick visor but her piercing green eyes could almost shoot into the helmet of Markas. But it wasn't hostile. "No we know each other after we came here. to earth that is. Him and I were.....very different....persay... But I still view him as my closest comrade. He always had a tendency to make good calls. But he was humble enough to know when to let others make their choices." This proof was shown earlier in the evening when Grey had old dog Canines make the decisions during the beginning of the mission. "I think Grey and I known each other for like... 10 years now? Feels like my whole life."

stephan_martiniere_03.jpg

the drop ship whirred as it came into the clearing picking up the soldiers on the clearing. They were receiving the signals from Ikari. Once inside the dropship Grey made his way unfurling his helmet. "guys we are light-" He was interrupted by the sound of a voice. It was Ikari!??!!?!?!?! "Where are you Ikari?" Grey spoke into the microphone. Perhaps their signal was seperate or whatever was fucking with it was stopped by the dropship.

There was silence and he gave up the location from the HUD.

Grey turned to the pilot. "We need to pick up Ikari, can we use the cloak AND fire a missile?"

The ship begun hovering before it took off in the direction and activated its cloak. "Well....ya but...."

"But what?" Grey asked.

"Its against L's orders to engage in combat." Grey made distance fast to Ikari they were above hoveringalmost right above him. The cameras made contact with a mech chasing after. He must have made his way out of the cave but now hes got attention.

"DROP THE CABLE!" Grey called. the hover-ship unfurled a retracta-pulley as it lowered quickly in front of Ikari.

Grey prayed silently. "Pull it up!!" the pilot begun yanking it under Degans call from looking at the cameras that eyeballed Ikari and the heavy load.

The hovercraft begun to flur up higher and higher as below the machine gave up and started blurting sirens. The mission was a close call. But luckily they were all out.

"HOLY SHIT! MARKA AND JAUZ ARE MISSING!" Degan blurted out. They were on their way out making their way toward the ocean.

Grey sighed........ "No....how could we be so foolish..... who else is missing?"

The group made count and came back with just Marka and Jawz missing as before. THere was silence nothing but the quiet humming as the pilot announced they were commanded not to turn back after pickup. Grey argued for a bit but when Grey checked his HUD for the tracking system on the 2 warriors they found nothing..... "Cant believe we lost 'em..." Grey sat down and removed his helmet. He let his sweat drip into his eyes. it stung but he didnt wipe it as he was hiding the tears. "..Jawz." He muttered as the ship hummed quietly.

Markov beside being distracted by the squirrel, she usually checked on her wound, looking and making sure it was all well. Some of the blood had dried and the object still intact and lodged in her shoulder as it no longer shocked her with charges seeing it seem to have ran out, it was still rather difficult to even move her arm but from what she could see it was not infected, yet, and even so she knew it must be removed but those miniature hooks wont make it a grateful time. Might even cause more damage than good if removed without proper procedures, even release a the clogged blood and make it worse than it is now, all she could hope is they could get out of here before it got bad...if they dint they had to remove it one way or another no mater how painful it might be.
As she began to hear not even a single word from Jawz as she asked her question, rather wondered why, but knowing how jawz was not responding its best to remain silent and not say 'So what?', but after a little she did reply just saying she never decided to live there...rather bluntly. Intimidating rather of fact to say the least that is for sure, but knowing silence was best for now Marka was rather enjoying getting to know her and overall soon enough the rest. Seeing the sudden drop and only soon began to descend, but Marka had a rather slow decent with her injured arm, made it rather carefully go down and use one arm but as she did with the time she asked "So why you ended up on Machine then?". Enough by seeing this place made her chill a bit, as was this surely the way to go through?
As Marka soon asked her other question and saw Jawz stop and look at her with a look as she chuckled for a bit only for a rather short audio less pause only for her to speak again. Just by how she spoke...seem she and Grey where rather very close just by how she spoke but as well, different? in what way? Marka would ask but honestly she has been already asking enough questions, dint wish to bother her much especially after how silent Jawz went from her question bout the Machine region...i mean sure she was thinking but would you rather make some one uncomfortable while you are lost? nhaaa maybe when they are going safe to home. "Seems he really care over others decisions, that is something to admire greatly..." Marka could understand that Both Her and Grey where very different in a way, surely nothing to do with appearance or what gun they like to use duh...but surely something more close, maybe beliefs or even similar acts, she would ask but wanted to make sure for the perfect time...and not make it feel creepy. Marka was rather naturally curies, she had some theories why she meant by different but what you expect me to write them all here?

"10 Years? Wow haha! that is a whole life in my book that is for sure jawz, so you both since known each other when you got to earth? all that time you knew him till now?...wow can image it" Marka though walking beside Jawz just thinking about it, i mean you knowing with some one since you GOT to earth, all that time till now, heck Jawz and Grey must be like great comrades, hell might even see each other as siblings. Well Marka dint know that. As she walked, the eyes of the blue animals lay upon her and Jawz, just staring as they walked. The one that previously followed latch on to her leg and Marka got very startled "Agh! H-Hey! No nono! Let go!" Beginning to shake her leg the squirrel would let go and just stare and follow again. Marka would keep one...i mean, they seem docile, but don't think they will allow radiated pets inside the coffee shop...Or waking up with a hand growing fro her belly or something "Are you sure this is the right way Jawz?..." Marka asked looking around as...well...she hated being outside to long with crazy apes and glowing squirrel that might just shock people with lightning or something.

It had been three weeks since the canines last got back from their previous mission. Gray was in his living quarters he was actually cooking for once something he rarely had ever done he was cooking bacon and eggs the sun has just came up and after he finished hitting the gym and did some of his prep work on his weapons he figured the best way to get the day started would be with some bacon and eggs they sizzled on the skillet in the aroma filled the room with bacon grease that brought tears of joy to his eyes but not literally of course. They were still missing their comrades he was worried about his good friend Jaws hoping she was okay there was no way to tell they haven't had any Scouts be able to locate her nor find her on the GPS trackers which indicated that she may have been dead or she was alive she could have been a prisoner however N said that at noon he had some good news to address for everybody they were hoping that once they got to the meeting Hall it would be regarding the two lost comrades from the previous mission at the moment he was having a couple friends over to meet up before going to the hall he had to get his nanosuit on before leaving because they said that they would be departing today where and when and how long will they be gone he did know the commander had a tendency to be a bit mysterious in those ways the food finish cooking and he begun eating the warm eggs filling his mouth with pleasure as well as the crispy hot bacon simmering with grease still loaded his lips with satisfaction.

After he finished up he started getting ready he pulled out his rifle and begun cleaning it making sure everything was in order as it popped up on the popup table that whirred to life he then put on his nanosuit as it absorbed onto his body like a second skin it was he felt all the tiny robots begin to adhere to his skin and take vital signs as well as maintain homeostasis. He then began to pack his bags with his mollee. After the morning begin to progress noon was almost among them they had to get to the meeting Hall on his way out he saw Abdel as well as a couple other comrades and greeted them with pleasure "hope the 2 girls are ok.... " grey said sollemly. "You guys ready to see what this is all about?

Ikari Shio 1.png
All Ikari had done was train. He did parkour in his nanosuit, jumping along the base's buildings as he exercised like mad. He wasn't doing it to build strength really. More-so, he was running and doing endurance training. He'd go into the pool and swim under the water to the bottom and wait as long as he could before he arose on top of his parkour training.

Weakness was something Ikari didn't really tolerate. It was even worse if he showed it. That's why he had been training for three weeks now. With a new mission on the horizon a possibility, the man had to be ready. It looked like there was a meeting as well so here he was, walking to the conference room.

Had he thought about the comrades they left? Yes. Had he wanted to go search for them? No. It was their fault they got left, no questions or exclamations about it. If they came back, they would have some respect from him if they gave evidence of their struggles but only if they did. Without proof, Ikari would be skeptical about the whole journey they had for however long they were gone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Ikari walked, he kept his calm yet calculating stature. It was who he was. His foot-steps were even paced due to him not being in any rush to get there. The man wasn't wasting time getting there though. He was summoned so he was going. His jacket rustled as he went, the fabric resting on his shoulders.
Grey soon greeted Ikari, who nodded as a hello. Then he mentioned the girls. "Those two got themselves into the predicament they are in. If you delay on thinking about them you'll get lost and may end up like them. It was their fault for not getting to the rendezvous like told or contacting the drop-ship themselves let alone not having a flare on them or something of the sort." The man spoke in a sympathy-lacking voice as he walked past the older Canine, continuing for the Meeting Hall as instructed.
The two girls were tired. They travelled for a week to make it back to the nearest city. Through and through they were survivors. Hunting each day for their meals. using their water filtration systems to keep water. They luckily were crafty enough to avoid having to use their last MRE in their MOLLE. The two girls proved to be survivors. But once getting back into town they begun to discover and piece together a few more clues on the way back that led to them deciding they would have to stay just a bit longer.
On the way back the two girls studied all the evidence they took together. They were able to conclude that although they did not know who was behind it. They were able to translate one massive important clue. "revolutions"
The girls studied deeper and deeper and once returning to the nearest Britania town alive they were able to get into a biodome and get a hotel. Of course this money better be returned once they got back. They begun researching and studying the term and were able to find a group of people. Or a club persay. They called themselves. The "Revolutions"
They wanted to learn more they delved in over the next couple weeks on their mission and findings.
-----------
Grey listened to Ikrari as he spoke. The man had fair reasoning behind how and what had happened back on the mission 3 weeks ago. It was tough to think they already had been without them for so long. But on the other hand. Their nanosuits still hadn't reported that they were dead. Rather the systems said both Jawz AND Marka. were noted as inactive. This wasnt a bad thing because it meant dead or alive they were together as they went inactive within 5 minutes of each other. That meant they took off their suits. Willingly or unwillingly is another question. "No I agree. regardless this next mission may be our only chance to further find clues about them being alive. I just would rather know anything rather than never finding out and living with the unknown." Greys voice cracked a tiny bit trying to hide some pain about his dear friend. "Meeting is about to start. ready guys??"
-Meeting hall-
-time: 11:30am-
The Canines all bundled together, Grey took glance at the corner of the room. He saw a new face enter. He tilted his head. He recognized the face..... he thought about it for a moment as he sat in the seat. The hall was massive but only a handful of the canines sector that Grey was lucky to be apart of was there. He looked the girl up and down. The orange lined and black nanosuit. The right shoulder Kevlar compound insert.....For recoil? It had to be her then.... The tall composure and perfect posture almost looked to light up the room. Grey smirked a tad. If that was who he believed she was the woman was a warrior of the shadows. That girl possibly was Natasha Romanov. He would ask questions later. For now him, Alerius, and Marka all three grabbed seats next to each other. Time to shake everything off and clear his head.
Because the mission was about to get that much more hairy.
Mission: Masquerades
Masquerade_Ball.jpg
The screen lit up as the lights dimmed. N, the commander of the Crimson Canines squad Grey and the others were in begun walking up on the meeting halls main deck. His footsteps clunked with a light echo. He wore more casual clothing this time. It looked like he was about to go golfing or something. He took a sip of water on the podium that was already prepared for him.
"Good morning everyone. How was breakfast? I hope everyone ate well." He chuckled a bit trying to break the silence with a bit of casual small talk. Grey didnt bat an eye. Not his place to think anything. The guy probably was just as stressed as they all were. " None the less. I wanted to begin the convorsation with some incredible news. As of last night. We comfirmed activation with DNA recognition of both Jawz AND Markas Nanosuit. Of course when we always think tracking is easy this day and age, they somehow managed to mess theirs up....of course our luck right. Anyway. the bright side to all of this was that even with a faulty tracking system that they managed to destroy we were able to get a location on where their suits were "activated" the suits emit a signal from the GPS in them and when they are damaged. like they were in this case on the helmets and possibly spinal area where the system is located. Removing and putting a suit back on releasing a signal. Although it is faint it was there for both of them. Who also put them on at the same time." The room fell.....silent. So quiet a mouse could be heard eating its breakfast as well.
Grey raised his hand feeling a tear well up. 'SHES ALIVE?!?!'
N pointed allowing him to speak. "So question. did someone steal their suits and are now wearing them?"
N tsked at the elementary question. "Ah great simple questions with simple answer. NO. The nanosuits ARE a part of you afterall. so just like your real skin other people cannot take them. otherwise its a useless blanket to them. And within 5 minutes apart tells me they have been lying low for a while considering they weren't put on for almost 2 weeks which was the last time we got a notification that the suits were removed. Plus if someone dies in the suit the nanobots WILL alert our central computer system. With or without the GPS in effect."
"So we know where they are?" He then asked.
"Not perfectly but we managed to somewhat track the signal from the last time we saw them to the time the suits were put back on. And from there we were able to confirm they are in the Britannia Capitol. It had to be quite the walk for them from the mission site but our guess is they are somewhere in the city.... Finding them is up to you."
The room fell quiet once again.
'FINDING them is......up to YOU?!'
Greys thoughts Grew dark.
(someone please ask why it is up to us to find them.
someone also ask what the real purpose of this mission is if finding them is an option)
Ikari had chosen to sit by no one, opting to lean against a wall. So it was up to them to find their comrades? "N." Ikari looked at the man with a glare. "I don't see why we have to pick up their mess. If they lay low let them. It is not our problem until they make it ours. They lay low for a reason so let them come back to us. I don't agree with cleaning their mess on getting themselves stuck wherever they are at one bit." He stated, still glaring at the man.
At Grey's outburst, Ikari scoffed irritably. It was obvious he cared a bit for those two.If that proved a liability then Ikari would address it as such. He wasn't going to deal with sappiness that inhibited the main goal. Hell. If he could, he would just leave now and go train some more. Have someone fill him in later.
"Be honest N." Ikari seemed to get even more serious. If that was possible. "What is this mission really for? Plan to get us looking just to crush spirits and make us colder or something akin to that?" The swordsman questioned, still leaning on the wall. "If it is, i already told you. I don't care what happens to those two. Unless they have proof of their struggles if they have any, i DO NOT give a damn what happened to them or what is happening. If i find my time is being wasted on a silly chase with no real purpose, i will come back here and you'll learn i don't tolerate things like that one bit." Ikari had his jacket on, a foot bent up and on the wall he was leaning on.
If Ikari had to fight he was ready, even without his armor or sword. He'd tangoed with a Kyoudai Jigoku three weeks ago and ran from a fast mech afterwards while carrying heavy Intel in a child's backpack. If that wasn't enough, when someone suggested they go back on the drop-ship for Jawz and Marka, Ikari had been ready to open the hatch and just let them go. But that ship was not gonna turn back unless he got a good reason, even if the pilots decided to turn around. Their mistake was not going to be his nor would he let it. Orders were orders. Get information and get out. They didn't listen when it was time to go and they payed for it.
Bade had been a spent a lot of time on his machines, almost being completely anti-social. Some say it was because he blamed himself for the loss of Marka, and not knowing she and Jaws was dead or alive was getting to him. Bade admitted that was highly possible, seeing how he was worried; however that was who Bade was. He knew Grey was closest to Jaws, and - even though Bade never got along with her - he missed Jaws (though he'd never say it directly).
Bade also knew that Jaws was very tactical and Marka was a smart girl. They would be okay... he hoped.
-----------------------------------------------------
Bade solemnly stepped into the room where N would brief them on the next mission. An smudge of servo grease on his cheek showed he had yet again been working on his mech. He remained standing on the opposite side of Ikari. He listened smiling slightly at the news. This meant all that hard work would pay off. Bade watched at Grey's reaction, happy for the poor guy. Then his attention turn turned to N, eager to know about the whereabouts of their lost teammates. Bade shifted nervously.
"Up to them to find the girls? What the heck did that even mean?" he mumbled inaudibly. Just when he was about to ask, Ikari spoke up. Bade listened his smile transforming to a frown and his bright eyes turning to a dark, icy glare. Trying to stay composed for once, Bade spoke up.
"I think your missing the point, Ikari." he said, an slightly obvious angry tone in his words. If there was one thing Bade believed in, it was that teams don't ditch each other. "We're a team. The Crimson Canines. It goes against everything to ditch those two while they are actually alive and ready to be saved. A team compliments one another; each of us is piece in the big machine. It's pretty dang heartless to leave a team member lost just because you think they slipped up." Bade's voice was rather harsh at this point. "I'd understand that if it meant the death of the whole team, and maybe if they didn't want help, but this... this isn't the case."
He finished, refraining from calling Iraki a coward in front of entire the meeting. He had already made a cheesy 'teams-stick-together' speech (or at least that's what he thought), it was better not to make a fool out of himself and get tackled by a cold-hearted ninja (as he saw Iraki at the moment). Bade shook his head, already sure he had made a fool of himself. "N" he said, his voice calmer and back to the Bade everyone knew. "What do you mean by, 'It's up to us to find them'? I may be missing something, but I am not sure what you mean."
Bade hoped his 'outburst' didn't make things harder. He knew it was possible that his rookie style immaturity might have shown through, but he was really heated at the moment. Iraki's lack of sensitivity bothered him.
Alerius was sitting calmly in one of the briefing room seats as he listened to the situation, as usual his chosen profession would make him valuable to the mission at hand. Sometimes he wished he'd decided to go with something less well rounded so he could get more of a break. Not that he didn't like missions but even so. He'd just been recalled from his family leave for this. It was important he knew, and so did his wife thankfully. But even so he was slightly irritated they were in this situation in the first place. There was no reason to refuse of course because like the others he believed that keeping everybody alive was an important part of the job.
As Ikari spoke Alerius let out a small huff of disgust and simply shook his head for now, he couldn't trust that one to watch his back in fact It may be better to watch his own back around Ikari. He had no regard for the lives of those around him. Therefor no trust would be given. " Ikari, you will find yourself in a world of shit one of these days with an attitude like that. If nothing else we need bodies, in case you hadn't noticed the Canines are still pretty rag tag in their Revival. If we can keep our numbers up we need to.. Unless you simply don't want to risk going out there again while everyone else here does." Alerius shrugged at that last statement letting that imply whatever Ikari would take of it.
Turning his attention back to the briefing at hand, nodding as Bade spoke. " I agree on a few points though, there is more to this than meets the eye." He said crossing his arms as he leaned back in his chair going over what he knew in his mind, trying to anyalize what it may be.
Natasha walked in and immediately noticed that her new C.O. was looking at her. Trying to figure out the new face and gather information on who was working for you was basic leadership. She nodded while moving to a corner to begin gathering intel on her new team. No, not HER new team, the new team she was assigned to. All because her psychiatric evaluations were showing no signs of development. It was a simple fact, work and social life were two different things. That idiot of a doctor only saw this version of her. The business oriented woman. She listened closely to the mission and felt like there was something going on behind the scenes and thankfully others felt that as well.
However, Natasha felt a twitch come on when the male identified as Ikari stood up and started spouting nonsense about leaving people behind because it wasn't "their" mess. If he can't even understand the weight of what he just said...... Natasha shook her head while others pointed out the flaws in his logic. And he was even met with some hostility. She decided she'd chip in her own two cents, thought it wouldn't account for much as a newbie on this team. "Ikari, was it?" Natasha's voice was fairly calm and mellow, like the opening notes of a violin signaling the start of the performance. "I may be new to this team, but I have a question. And I hope you don't take offense to this." She smiled while letting her icy gaze land upon his own. "Do you think you could handle the consequences and burden of what you just said?"
One of the things that Natasha had learned the hard way was decisions had consequences. "Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying your opinion is wrong or that you should give a flying rat's ass what happens to the pair out there, but," She took a deep breath and rolled her shoulders, trying to ease her own tensions. "If you, miraculously, convinced all of us here to side with you and then those two wound up dead because of YOUR call, could you handle that knowledge?" Natasha knew she probably overstepped boundaries, but within a team boundaries only got you killed. You needed to trust your team completely, even if it meant that you knew their orders could kill you. "Just think about that before you continue on your tirade about leaving them to their own mess." Without another word she sat back down and looked to the man called N, as if expecting something more from him.
Connor sat in his chair, arms crossed, leaning back as far as he could, and with his legs sprawled out before him. He had be working out since the mission, hoping to regain what he had lost in the ten years he had sat idle at a desk. Though he was certainly making progress, that sort of thing takes time. Anyways, he was in the briefing room now and was listening quietly to what was being said.
"You're a moron, boy," he said to Ikari. He didn't feel like he had to say to much more, everyone else was doing that for him. Even their new squad mate. Which was kind of weird considering she was new and all, but she had a right to say what was on her mind. "With all do respect, sir, but you're making a huge mistake if you think that I can be useful in all this. I was trained to blow massive holes in things, that's what I do, and frankly I like doing it. Alerius, I understand, that's what he does. But me, sir?"
There was that, but there was also the fact that they didn't exactly have to get them back. As hypocritical as it was, they didn't have to go out of their way to get them back. They could just leave them and let them find their own way back. If everything that was said up to that point was true, then they were resourceful and scrappy enough to survive finding their way back to the den.
N snarled in anger slightly. Clenching a single hand into the podium tightly as he adjusted the collar of his polo. He looked agitated but he did a great job hiding it he paused and waited for the two men to finish their arguing and questions toward him. "IKARI! You don't dare disrespect your team or question the canines judgement. " he spoke stern, calmly, and painfully. His words were ice picks cutting into the iceberg that was ikari. ( Cosmosis Cosmosis stand down soldier)
Commander N shifted his gaze softly but had a edge of anger toward ikari and solemnly changed as he glanced and made eye contact with bade. "You. Are. All. A. Team. Orders were orders. And like it or not with the turnout. This is how it ended. Bade is right. But you are all to Blain for our soldiers to be abandoned out there and no one else. Your all lucky we found they are alive."alerius spoke. N was going to cut him off but being an old Crimson canine even he knew that the man spoke honesty in wisdom. He finished. N calmed his head. No one suspecting a clue as he sipped his water and set it down with a thud that echoed across the room. "In case you don't know our program hasn't even his the 3 month mark. We were lucky to get a great group like you all. But we aren't without our morals. You will find private Marka and private jawz. Period."
Just then Natasha stood up. He scowled in disgust but she chimed her opening sentence. He took a 3 inch step back and listened closely. He was intrigued.
Grey caught the first sentence. More about his dear friend jawz. He sat up. Listened to the girl as she spoke. Her words stabbed the people in the room. She was right. She had experience. She had pain behind her own words not for them but for herself. He caught on to small details being a freedom fighter not long ago. Catching just the glimpse of someone's passed based on how they said a word with a strain or two in their voice.
He leaned forward and smirked. 'Oh? Your intruiging' he thought passionately. More was indeed to meet the eye with her.
Judging by how she spoke 4 separate times without interruption from n. Grey knew even he was intrigued as well. And when she sat down and n finished with
"Your god damn right natasha."
It confirmed to grey she was indeed the girl he delved into about.
"This is over. Now to answer ikaris. And all of your question. What are we doing?"
Fools. The whole lot of them. They couldn't see his point even though some of them claimed they did. He growled, getting a bit irritated at their dullness and lack of sense for what he said. Then again, how could they? These people were not him after all.
"None of you seem to understand what i said. I thought you all were smart people, which, i still do belive but come the fuck on." Now Ikari was standing. He cracked his neck when he got asked if he could handle their deaths on his shoulders. "I easily can deal with it. You don't think i'm the way i am by being a 'Save everyone!' kinda guy do you? If so, you don't seem to be focused on observing your new comrades or in my case, acquaintances."
"Now let me explain more in depth on how i think. Unless you have proven to me you can handle yourself or do something to gain my respect, you do not mean anything to me until i need you. As for Jawz and Marka. They did not listen to orders given to them. What if they come back and don't for a second time? A third? Or how bout a fifth." Ikari's voice was deadpan menacing and cold.
"If they are alive and they wanted our help they would have found a way to contact us It is not like it has been two days since hey went M.I.A. . They are Crimson Canines, not a military soldier from World War Two who needs to use letters to communicate. Understand me a bit more now?" He gave a look of everyone there. "We are called elite for a reason. We are not weak nor will we be weak. If they come back unpunished how will they learn exactly? Sure, they'll get left behind again or maybe die from not ducking when told too. But how will they learn not to disobey direct orders again?" A pause came before he started again.
"Now, if i was directly ordered to find them, i would do just that. Find them and leave. Not go out of my way to bring them back when they may not want too. It would be a waste of precious time. Time that we need to find out more about ourselves and our world. Time that could be used getting stronger so we survive with less struggles along the path we ourselves choose. We as humans only guide and open unseen options for each-other. Not choose them for the other person. Think on that and you could find out why i am the way i am to some degree." He spoke most of his mind on the situation and for now he was done; The man went back to leaning on the wall. Ikari could bite his tongue when he chose. Plus, these people before him had enough to think about after what he had said. How long would they think on their next words though?
The crowd finished their arguing and the group finally was able to get back on track. The room held tension so tight you could cut it with a butter knife. The room dimmed as a few pictures the group got from the mission at the old nuclear power plant popped up.
"When you guys got back and we sifted through the photos you all took. We had a very tough time puzzling things together." N spoke softly. He flicked to the next picture. "As you can see here we have a foreign language decried on the side of this crate. We crossed referenced it with every language before civilization collapsed and in the end we still still had no trace of which language it was." He took a breath. " we even cross-referenced it with ancient languages like the Egyptians and the Greek and still no luck. Our conclusion was that Brittania has developed a secret language of code that we have yet to decipher this would explain why everything was one or two words maximum" a picture then showed again of the next crate that someone took of a crate from the entrance. Once again unknown language. Things like this weren't common but it making sense if brittania was plotting against the u.s. faction.
The picture flicked to a profile picture from a distance of a man. Middle aged. Musky face but a clean haircut. "Next clue. Picture was from gra before you guys had to get out. We cross-referenced this picture with our facial recognition scanner and we were able to conclude who it was." He scanned to the next picture of the same man but a clearer photo. Profile and front view.
"The man is named Dimitri kurushkov. A Russian faction nuclear physicist specializing in construction and destruction of matter. We then searched his last known location. 15 years ago.... it appears this man was famous for discovering nuclear containment devices that disperse matter into harmless....or potentially harmful.... ways."
He clicked to scientific charts wit pictures. "In example this picture was his old expiriment that turned nuclear energy through chemical process into oxygen gas. And here he transfers a single atom of plutonium into a contained bomb capable of blast a building into oblivion yet not releasing radioactive biproducts." He clicked over to a picture of Dimitri in what appeared to be an award ceremony. "This discovery being absolutely revolutionary. He decided to retire shortly after and never revealed or documented how to replicate his discoveries...."
The screen then transo erred to a gps ilocation in brittania. Not too far from where the nuclear power plant was that they found him at. " we believe he retreated back to here where this red dot is on the map based on the Machinery you guys captured pictures of we could not imagine it being capable of flight along with that we were able to capture a cross reference picture of him once again through hacking a traffic camera in the city. We also believe our two comrades are in this city as well. We have very reasonable suspicion to believe his knowledge is now being leaked into enemy hands with knowledge like this weapons could be built that can be very small in very lethal possibly taking out our bio-domes that we are living in. Or much worse like weapons of mass destruction or terrorist Acts. Your mission is to track him down get answers and not be discovered you will depart today and be dropped off with one of our spies who can get you into the bio-dome of the brittania Nation once inside their signal Jammers will no longer allow us to have communication with you just like we have in our biodomes but you will have to find him capture him alive in Evacuate the city with whatever means necessary... we need to find out why he decided to come out of retirement and why he decided to go back into an ancient Nuclear Power Plant just to start packaging boxes with robots built by the Brittania Nation."
Bade held his tongue on everything now. The tension made him squirm inside. Ikari was a hardcore fighter - he'd give the guy that - but he also was a cold hearted one. The room was thick with negative emotion that made Bade feel like any sound would make him fall out of line. It wasn't a good feeling - and Bade had started it.
"Anyway, she still owes me a plane ride." Bade mumbled inaudibly, referring to Marka. It was a light-hearted attempt to make him feel better, but it didn't have as much as an effect as he wanted.
Bade then became as focused as he could on the current mission. The nuclear engineering and scientific terms intrigued him. A bomb that could cause mass destruction, yet no radiation would spill into nearby civilizations. This man was a genius to Bade, yet it seemed he was also part of the enemy.
Ikari Shio 1.png
Ikari's body felt numb. Now he actually debated with himself on his next choice. Submit, walk out, or tell N his mind and stand his ground. Either of those three choices had countless others attached with them but with this numbness, Ikari was more ready to kill than normal. "I'll disrespect whoever i choose to N. You don't really rule me nor will you be allowed to." Ikari stated calmly. "And if we are a team..." Now Ikari was thinking. N had slipped up when he said it wasn't anyone's fault but their own. "If we are a team, then why couldn't we go after them that night? Oh i remember. Your orders. No. Turning. Back. If we are a team, don't dare blame us for your damning orders that caused abandonment of teammates N. I won't stand for that;Got it?"
Sure. Ikari probably shocked someone when he went from attacking the others to defending them but in truth, he wasn't going to stand for someone throwing the blame out on people listening to orders. Especially when said person was the one who issued the orders in the first place. But Ikari had used the word teammates because these people were not comrades yet. Far from it yet, if he could have, the man would have went right up to his 'Leader' and ask for a reason as to why he even lead them; what gave the man the right to. But that was something for another time.
It took a bit but Ikari listened in. 'Must i also try to break down this Dimitri kurushkov and his project?' The Canine's body started to get feeling back in it as he thought that. He didn't feel his killing intent trying to just come out and make him act upon it. He'd only fully felt it five times in his life. Only enough times to count on one hand.
"It's obvious Dim boy isn't using ionising radiation in these whatsoever. If he did, the radiation would obviously be there right? I mean, i'm not an expert on Radiation but that's just what i think. What is odd is the way he does it. Shouldn't there be a side effect after messing with plutonium? Dim boy has to be using something else to cancel out the radioactive ionising radiation but what is he using as a canceler if he is using ionising Radiation?" Now N had sparked interest in the man. As much as a fighter as he was, the swordsman also was a man who wanted to know and understand everything in case he had to beat someone down with actual facts. If he couldn't then he would just wreck them in physical combat.
N narrowed his eyes toward Ikari. The room faded to light slowly as the projector turned off and the hologram. "Enough. Or your going to be revoked from your promotion and restricted for the mission." The room had a bloodthirsty edge to it that N seemed to give to everyone. He grunted in frustration. "Go." He said as the anger begun to well up as Ikari spoke out.
---
Grey made his way out of the room and down the hall. He caught up to the new recruit. "Lass, where did you train again?" He asked politely; Kiroshiven Kiroshiven the group was only given a few hours to get the gear for the mission. and not only that but Ikari was way out of hand in the meeting hall. Grey grunted himself. But this girl sparked his interest. He had a polite hue to him. With a warm inviting voice that he was talking to the girl in.
they were getting ready. They had to go out into town. They had to do some spying make sure they closed all their suspicions before moving forward. "We cant let anyone catch wind that we got in here. Got it? Period!
Connor had voiced his problems, so he sat quietly by as N and Ikari went at it. Meanwhile, he wondered what he should take with him for this very sneaky mission. He could bring that heavy anti-material rifle he's been practicing with. It'd be rather hard to hide if he doesn't take it apart, and even then what would he put the pieces in? Not to mention disassembling it could compromise the whole thing and possibly have it shatter in his hands after the first shot. Well, it'd probably be a bit better than walking around with an mmg under his coat. Though an smg would probably be a bit more suitable. But as he had already said, his hands were to big to fit in between the trigger guard of the smaller fire arms. Oh, perhaps he could as for one to be quickly retrofitted for him. He should do that, but that anti-material rifle's siren song was just to strong. Maybe next time.
When they were dismissed, he hurried out of the briefing room to get his equipment ready. He also needed to look everything over to make sure it was up to the task of being quite. And since he refused to strip anything off, he had to make sure all the joints were lubricated and anything that might hit were wrapped in cloth. Then he had to find a way to actually fit the monstrosity that was the anti-material rifle into something he could easily explain away.
Even though Bade knew Ikari may have not cared for the lost team members, the fact that the brutal canine had a point. It was frightening at first, not knowing if N was really trust worthy for a split second. Bade shook it off, knowing it was simply a human reaction. Bade needed to remember he was a soldier. And he had a mission to accomplish. He would not only complete this mission, but find Marka and Jaws. Bade worried for both of them (though he kept it quiet from the other troops in order to avoid unwanted chatter) and now they had a shot at saving the lost duo. Marka owed him a plane ride, and Jaws... well, Jaws needed to boss him around some more (he painfully admitted to himself). Bade would get them back. He would do the same if it were any one of the teammates, even Ikari (well.. maybe) as he was sure they'd do the same for him.
