It was the dawn of the medieval-esque era our characters live in now. Dragons helped humans learn sophisticated metal work by lending them their fire. Their technology emboldened the human race, leading to their betrayal of the dragon-kin in their arrogance. The swords forged by dragonfire were put to use against the beasts, growing ever more powerful as they drank the blood of their foes. Seven of the greatest human warriors welded such terrible swords during the Dragon War.
