Ethan slept deep and soundlessly, though you know he was alive by the rise and fall of his chest. He didn't even notice Lottie had moved, nor was he aware of when he'd actually fallen asleep between scanning boredly through Netflix and playing with her ponytail. Eventually, he'd shifted though, whacking a pillow in accident and shooting up with wide eyes when he thought he'd hit her. "Sorry! Charlotte I--"
Noting the couch was void of the blonde he cocked his head upwards, meeting her eyes almost instantly which had apparently been on him for a while. "...Morning?" His fingers combed out his slightly messy blonde locks, of which were a little greasy with the gel he'd used to slick it back James Bond style yesterday. "What time is it? How long have I been out? ...How're you?"
---
Exhausted as she was, the sunlight had decided to pour in even through the half drawn curtains, and had nearly blinded her that morning. Amazingly enough, she had hardly heard his snoring, about as sacked out as he'd been till she was enveloped in the mornings light. Carter was more than perfect last night. And had he not been so out of it that morning, she would've begged for a round three. What could she say? The man knew what he was doing!
When glaring for ten consecutive minutes at the window didn't do anything, she came to the conclusion it was time to get up, rolled out if his grasp (cause he'd probably sleep through an earthquake) and headed towards the shower, grabbing a change of clothes and her phone on the way. Amidst the bond they'd strengthened through intimacy, Rae felt like she'd truly let the Ethan thing go last night. Carter deserved her heart one hundred and ten percent, and although she'd always miss the man she adorned for years, it was time to move on, she didn't want to miss what she was blessed with now.
