INTRODUCTION
"Hello, brave virgin who lit the candle. I'll be thy friend."
Well, it's October, and you know what that means - catching all of the many repeat television showings of the 1993 Disney classic Hocus Pocus! Or, if you're one of the really cool kids... taking it out from the shelves of your own personal film collection and watching it every single day for the rest of forever! You are one of the cool kids, right?
For years now I've wanted to do a FxF Hocus Pocus RP set in present day and pairing a grown up Dani Dennison (that's you) with a once again resurrected Sarah Sanderson (that's me). The story would put the two together in a sort of forced cooperation against a greater evil, only to have a genuine affection and romance develop between them. Along the way, there would be all kinds of cute moments involving Dani's efforts to introduce Sarah to a new life in the modern world. And, perhaps eventually, Sarah would learn that there's a better way to live than being an evil, soulsucking witch.
A few people approached me in the past about this idea, but were sadly unable to commit to the entire duration. I still reaaaaally really really wanna RP this, so that's where you (hopefully) come in!
BACKSTORY
"It's a full moon tonight. That's when all the weirdos are out."
After that chaotic Halloween night in Salem almost two decades ago, Dani Dennison eventually settled into her young adult years in New York City, leaving her home behind and the strange memories with it. In a way, it all seemed so distant as to be fantasy; a strange campfire tale she half-heard from somebody else. However, as Halloween approaches this year, there is a nervous energy in the crisp Autumn air that she can't help but wonder about.
But when a colleague insists that Dani and her friends join him for a lavish Halloween party at one of New York's premiere clubs, it seems like too exciting an opportunity to pass up in favor of another night in. And for the opening hours of the event, her worry seems to finally melt away. She even feels a little excitement when an announcement is made regarding a group party game with amazing prizes for the winners. Guesses are made at the nature of the game and the rewards, but nobody seems to have any true insight.
That is, until the host takes the stage, and Dani realizes with freshly awakened horror that he carries two familiar artifacts - in one hand, a book dominated in the center by a living eye, and in the other, the Black Flame Candle. The witching hour is about to begin.
REQUIREMENTS

The usual RP niceties apply: no god-modding, please use proper spelling and grammar, etc., and I promise to give you the same level of effort and consideration.
I'm looking for this to be a longterm thing, with an active partner who would be available to write at least 1-2 posts a day, barring RL commitments or pesky moments of writer's block.
Please please puh-leaaaaaasse be willing to participate in regular OOC chat and planning. I like being friends with my partners, and I also really like brainstorming future plot points. I want to have a fun time and take equal part in creating something special together!
You get bonus points if you want to build a layered narrative with complex characterization and themes. However! Please don't confuse this with being overly verbose. I can't keep up with more than 3-5 paragraphs at a time, and I'm even okay with some one liners during more dialogue-heavy scenes.
While we will be primarily focusing on Dani and Sarah, please be willing to play a few minor NPCs at some points in the story (such as Dani's friends). Also! There may come an opportunity to play Winnie and Mary later on, and it might be fun if we each picked one for ourselves.
