Emmett just knew that something exciting was going to happen upon waking up this morning. There was a rusty musk in the air that told him so. Never did he expect it to be that one of his rookie campers who left a few weeks back had returned, and bearing gifts for the other survivors. Why was it that Max left again? Oh, that's right...

Suddenly, the sound of hard wood meeting with bone split the ears of those standing around the room. Blood was splattered across the floor from where Max lay, the red draining from his mouth like syrup. Emmett stood over top of him, dressed in black, holding an Easton baseball bat in his right hand. He was livid. A few onlookers had to cover their faces from the dreadful scene, knowing exactly what was going to happen to the poor guy. Of course, others might argue and say that Max had it coming... He did steal from the camp, after all. If there's one thing that everyone knows Emmett will not tolerate--it's betrayal. The day he found out Max had left with one of the camp's vehicles, a duffel full of ammo and medical supplies, and weapons, was the day he marked Max's name on his hit-list.

"Don't speak." Emmett mumbled.

Max tried to move, but nothing happened. His body was still in shock. It took a tiring amount of effort just to look around the room, which was filled with familiar faces. To be honest, he didn't miss any of them. When he decided to abandon the camp it was because of Emmett--the man is crazy, psychotic... but Max was unable to make it on his own, so he returned with hopes of fitting back in. In the back of his mind he knew this would happen. He knew he was going to die one way or another. Everyone is.

Off to the side, a young girl with a small pistol at her hip sobbed. She hugged her hands to her chest, "Emmett, please..." and begged. At this, Emmett's eyes widened. He stared over at the girl and whispered her name, "Mercy..." then smiled, "That's so like you."

"Come." Emmett beckoned. Mercy sucked up her tears and grew silent. Why did he want her? She feared that she, too, would end up like Max--beaten and bloody in front of an audience. The thought of it made her body tremble. When it looked like Emmett was growing impatient, someone beside Mercy urged her to approach him as she was told, and she did. One step at a time she grew closer to the devil who led their camp. Once close enough, Emmett held up his gun and the room gasped. Murmur started, but it was silenced by Emmett yelling, "Shaddup!" Mercy's face was soaked in tears and snot. She couldn't help but to hiccup, feeling like a mouse beneath a lawnmower. It was when Emmett flipped his gun around and pressed the hand of it into Mercy's chest when he spoke again, stating, "You're going to do it."

To Be Continued...

Audrey was in the middle of sharpening her knives just before people started to crowd a specific spot, of course she was curious to see what it was. She walked over to the crowd and shoved her way through it, but she didn't expect to see Max. She was confused, not because he was still alive, but why he came back.

Just then, out of nowhere, he was on floor. Audrey gasped. She looked over at Emmett as he stood before Max's helpless body, holding a baseball bat. Blood was pouring from his mouth. Audrey was then, expressionless. She didn't understand what had just happened and why so quickly? She wanted to help Max, but there was no use in doing anything. All that Audrey could do was watch what happens next. Although it was true he had stolen from the camp, Audrey hated to say he did have it coming, as soon as he arrived at the camp, certain death awaited him.

"Don't speak." Was all that Audrey heard before she left. She was too scared to witness anything else. She ran outside and sat down in a chair next to a small fire. She sat there and put her head down to her knees while covering her face. She then looked back up only to see a tall man hovering over her.

"Are you okay?" He asked her. Which he didn't really seemed concerned, he just felt it was right to ask. "Who are you? I've never seen you before." Audrey questioned him. She thought she knew everybody, mainly because she has tried to boss so many people around. "My name is Joey, I found this place two weeks ago." He replied, then sat down in the chair beside her. "How come I've never seen you before and how are you so calm?" Audrey didn't recognize him at all, it was almost weird talking to him. "I don't do much around here, I like to stay a little hidden. To answer your other question, what do you mean?" He was just as confused as she was. "Why shouldn't i be calm?" after he said that Audrey looked disturbed, she then asked him, "Were you not inside just now?" She continued to feel disturbed until he replied, "No, why?" Audrey then felt relieved to know he wasn't a psycho, "Just, don't go in there and be careful around here, I would start helping out if I were you." Audrey stated as she stood up from the chair. She walked away without any idea where she was walking. "I just need to go on walk." She whispered to herself. Then, began to walk wherever her feet led her.

Rachel dodges trees left and right, jumping over occasional rocks, as she sprints through the heavily wooded forest. Her immediate instincts tell her to run faster but she knows that it'd only increase her risks of tripping. "Slow and steady wins the race," she whispers to herself.

Another ten minutes of running has finally exhausted her. The rhythm of her footsteps slow to brisk walk. Convinced that she has outrun her undead killer, she scans the trees ahead of her to find one suitable enough to rest in. Forty-five degrees to her right stands an oak that isn't too tall to climb nor too close to the ground. Her limbs shake as she pulls herself upward from branch to branch. The muscles in her legs grew from numb and weak to sore and tender in a matter of minutes. Leaning against the trunk of the oak, she tilts her head back and tucks a few loose tendrils of hair behind her ear.

"Wait a minute." Rachel catches scent of a dry, ashy smell. She lifts herself with the objective of climbing high enough to see which direction the smell is coming from. Eight or nine branches higher, she pauses after spotting the cloud of smoke in the distance. "Survivors. Finally!" A sense of hope initiates butterflies of excitement fluttering through Rachel's chest.

The desire to leave immediately and head straight toward the smoke overwhelms her, but she knows that rest is critical. She argues with herself , "What are the odds of that being a temporary camp? If so, then..." They could be gone by morning, and it seems to be about a three hour walk. "I'll have to take my chances." She gently lowers herself, adjusting her footing with each branch, and makes her way toward the smoke.

Two sets of footsteps, one set belonged to Everett. The other belonged to the walker that Everett has followed for 2 minutes now. He continued to walk the empty street of Fairchild Ave. But he didn't know the name of the city he had been roaming. After another minute of lurking behind the clueless walker, Everett was spotted by a second walker hidden in a small alley between two small buildings. He knew that wasn't good. He grabbed the walker in front of him from behind. He then pretty much had it in a choke hold. He stabbed in the head with his blade, but he still had to deal with the second one. Everett lightly jogged up to the walker, he thought it would be simple enough to just walk up to it and stab it. But the walker grabbed Everett's arm with a surprisingly tight grip. Everett struggled to release himself. Finally, he grabbed it's arms, pushing it away so it wouldn't wound him. He slammed the walker on the concrete and ran the blade through its skull.

Everett stood back up and retrieved his silent weapon from the skull of the walker that he is currently standing over. He walks away to continue his search for other survivors. Although he would prefer to be alone, he needs the assistance. He doesn't want to end up uncontrollably eating people. He's not exactly sure where he is, so... it's gonna be hard to make it somewhere safely. Especially in a such a large city, surrounded by the suburbs. Everett has no idea what could creep up on him next.

Hearing what Emmett had to say made Mercy flinch. Her chin wrinkled along with her puckered bottom lip. Small hands lifted, with which the girl covered her mouth as if trying to stop herself from speaking. It was a given that she didn't want to kill anyone, and that she never had before. Who could be so cruel as to strip someone of their innocence and dirty their hands like such? Emmett leaned in, further pushing the hilt of his gun into Mercy's child-like bosom--a late bloomer you could say. He stared at her forcefully shut eyes with complete disregard for her feelings, truly not caring.

"Come now," Emmett mumbled, a foreign accent riding the back of his throat. "We've all day." By now, several others had left the room--a small pharmacy that the camp had cleaned up. Many of the shelves which once held medical supplies but were empty upon the camp's arrival were removed and used in other buildings of the small, guarded town they'd settled in--located in Woodbury, New York. While it wasn't much; it was a place to call home, consisting of only the pharmacy, the wine market, bank, a Dunkin' Donuts, and just a few more buildings to hold up in and store provisions.

After only another minute or so, Mercy was crying again. She buried her face in her hands and shook her head, "I can't do that. I can't. Please, don't make me do it." Hiccuping and choking on her own words, she dropped to her knees and held her hands up in prayer to Emmett, begging him with her head bowed. From where she sat, she could smell Max's blood--and because of that she refused to open her eyes. It was the firing of Emmett's gun that sent her tumbling backwards, face now splattered with bits of brain that were not her own as she stared, petrified, at the dead camper before her. A guy whom Mercy had never spoken to--gone... and so easily.

With an irritated sigh, Emmett holstered his gun at his hip and stepped over Max's body, leaving the Pharmacy with a quick glance towards two men who stood near the doors, "Get this cleaned up." He made his way out into the open, shielding his eyes from the bright sun above, then glanced around. There was a fire burning in a metal barrel ahead--one guy looked to be stoking marshmallows over it, a funny sight to see, but Emmett was not amused. The smoke rising out of it was a dark black, not something you'd want to eat after. Not only that, but it could attract unwanted guests. Emmett called out, "Hey!" He approached the guy, addressing him by his name, "Adam!" Adam jolted to attention, "Yes!?"

Emmett neared him and wiped a hand down his own face, stopping for a moment to understand what the fool was thinking--wasting their burn supplies on daylight and sending signals of black miles high into the sky for other survivors to see and follow, be them good people or not. Had Adam not yet comprehended the risk of being discovered by scavengers? Thinking about it made Emmett's blood boil. Even with that being so, he managed to keep calm and took a deep breath, then let it go. Adam could sense Emmett's frustration to the extent that he already felt there was a gun at his head. He remained quiet and waited. Emmett spoke, "Put out tha' fire... Save our provisions, and you can eat later."

As Audrey walked around the camp, she could feel her heartbeat slow down. Walking was one of the best ways for her to remain calm, running was the best way. She loved the fresh air of the outside and the cool breeze from running, but she doesn't like to run inside the camp, mainly because there isn't a lot of room for her to do so. Her knees started to regain balance, they didn't feel as weak as when she stood before Max. She took a deep breathe and looked at her watch, a smile then developed across her face, "Two minutes and thirty-five seconds." It may be weird, but Audrey times how long it takes for her to calm after Emmett does something crazy. The shorter it takes shows that she is growing used to it. She hates it when her knees shake and bring her to the ground, when her face becomes blank and her vision goes blurry, voices become disoriented. She wants to be able to prove she isn't weak, by getting used to death. Her eyes widen as the firing of a gun is heard. "Oh no!" She drops to the ground on her knees. She could only imagine what had happened. What if Emmett was just trying to catch someone's attention or maybe he was trying to scare someone, but... Is Emmett really someone who would do that? What if... Mercy- "No. Don't let it get to you Audrey." She stands up. "Just walk it off." And she continues her walk.

She inhales and exhales. Her walk has lasted about 5 minutes now. "I think I need to sit down." She walks back up to the fire. Stopping about 20 feet away from the barrel. Oh no! Does Emmett know i walked out? What if he thinks i'm scared? I'm not though, I just... couldn't breathe? Yeah! I couldn't breathe. She puts on smile and starts to walk over there then stops again. "Wait." She speaks to herself, Maybe I shouldn't interrupt Emmet and Adam. She starts to walk away, into the Dunkin' Donuts. She sits down at a chair and pulls out her knives, just before she could start to sharpen them, a young girl with orange hair sits down beside Audrey. "Whatcha' doin'?" The orange haired girls asks as she rests her head on her hand. Audrey rolls her eyes, "Go away Maya." A rude tone developed in her voice. "Aw! I wanted to talk to you." Maya puckers her bottom lip. Audrey points her knife at Maya's throat, "Maya i swear if you say another word to me, i'm gonna slit your throat with this knife." Maya starts to laugh, "You? Kill me? I'd love to see you try." Audrey withdraws her knife. "Whatever." And starts to walk away. "Is shorty too scared to kill someone?" Maya laughs once again. Audrey turns around as fast as she could and throws her knife past Maya, less than 3 inches away from her head. Maya sits there in shock, trying to process what just happened. Audrey walks out of the Dunkin' Donuts while hiding a smile.

The smoke guided Rachel ,as if it were her very own North Star, through the forest and along the streets. Upon her unnoticed arrival, she scoped out the camp from behind a patch of trees on the opposite side of Jericho Turnpike. The camp, bordered and heavily guarded, resembled that of a prison instead of the safe-haven she had been looking forward to. Men and women were perched on the building tops, parked cars appeared to act as tents, and metal bins were used for fires. The soldiers on duty seemed to pay more attention to the laborers within the camp than what could possibly be lurking outside of it. Also, there was one building in particular that stuck out like a sore thumb. Its windows were completely boarded up as if it were of some significance to the inhabitants."Can't judge a book by its cover, I guess. What could I possibly expect during such chaos?"

She knew that the odds of her walking away from the presence of medical assistance, social interaction, and a safe place to rest, were slim. The only option she has to choose from now is to make an approach. There's just one issue..."What if the guards make sudden assumptions and mistake me for a zombie?" She took her satchel, emptying it of its canteen and ammo, and tossed it into the road. Before the bag could even hit the pavement, it had been blown to shreds by, not one, but several watchmen. Their accurate aim displayed plenty of training and experience. You could hear the shrieks of people inside the gates, for they were startled by the unexpected gunfire. "Damn it. I was asking for a safe entrance; not a fucking audience."

A loud, stern voice broke the silence that followed the gunfire, "Who are ya and whad'ya want?!" The man stood with his feet shoulder-width apart, bandanna on his head, and a cigarette resting between slightly parted lips. "Would ya show yourself already?" His impatience was irritating, yes, but not as irritating as the cockiness in his tone.

"Haven't you learned that a clever man knows he'll always be waitin' on a woman?" Rachel made her way to the yellow lines in the street. "Oh, and the name is Rachel." She could put on a good show, but deep down she battled for true confidence.

The man held a walkie-talkie up to his mouth and spoke to someone on another end. "Now or never." The gates squealed as they were pried apart from within. Two other men, stood on each end of the entrance and escorted her to what seemed to be a popular area, similar to an area for commoners to gather and make conversation. People stared, but not for long. "I'm guessing this happens quite often," Rachel thought to herslef. "Go inform Emmet that a new survivor is here, and that we need him for the required observation and acceptance following arrivals," one escort commanded the other.

Immediately following Emmett's orders, Adam knelt over and picked up a rusted, metal lid which they used to suffocate their fires without wasting water. It was the barrels with holes in them that were thrown out--placed around the outer sides of the fences to provide more guard from walkers and other zombies.
The campers would cut the tops of the barrels into sharp prongs and bend them outward for zombies to run or walk into, becoming like that marshmallow at the end of Adam's roasting stick. A good idea it was, but not a genius one.
"Good, now go~... do something useful," Emmett insisted, waving Adam away.

He stood in silence for a moment, once again looking around the camp. Everyone seemed to be doing something. Occasionally gunfire would happen--campers shooting off groups of dead when they appeared to be getting too big as Emmett had recommended. He didn't want anyone wasting ammo; it was a vital component to survival when facing hoards, or in emergency situations. Despite this, some campers would get bored and fire in competition with one another, taking out any and all zombies no matter their numbers.
Emmett knew this. He just didn't say anything.
Suddenly, there were several shots in the distance and a faint hollering--not the about-to-die kind of hollering, though. Emmett with-holstered his gun and held it at his side, making his way in the direction of the shots. He wondered what could be going on--perhaps another survivor. If so, then he or she is probably dead considering.
That doesn't change the possibility of discovering valuable goods on whoever it may be.
When another camper approached Emmett, Emmett stopped in his tracks to hear what he had to say between gasping breaths. "Boss-Man, we've got one. Another survivor. A woman... Cute one," saying that, the man grinned. Emmett rolled his eyes. He wasn't one for romance, especially in a world such as the one they lived in now... if you could call it that. One had to be ready to lose their loved ones with every corner cut and every back turned. Fortunately, Emmett didn't have anyone like that.
"I heard shots," Emmett stated.
"Hmm?... Oh! Oh yeah, we thought she was a Walker."
Emmett raised a brow.
"There were quite a few of'em over there..."
Emmett raised his other brow, then pat the man on the shoulder with his gun. "Thank you for telling me." Then, he walked off to find the scene and meet this new woman. He kept his gun out as usual, resting his other hand in his pants pocket while passing by the Dunkin' Donuts where Audrey was exiting. A nod was offered to the green-haired girl as Emmett continued on.

Upon noticing two of his own men escorting a rather unfamiliar face in the distance, Emmett removed his one hand from his pocket but kept his gun out. He neared closer to them, watching as one of the men pointed in his direction--probably pre-introducing him to the woman.
"Emmett," one called out, pacing ahead of the other two and taking Emmett's side.
"She got a name?" Emmett asked.
He nodded, "I'm sure she does. Haven't asked yet."
Emmett shook his head and proceeded towards the stranger. He stopped short in front of her and studied what he saw. She was attractive, indeed, but such a characteristic played only a small role in survival. In fact, Emmett felt that it made one a bigger target these days. Man can be ruthless.
Inspecting her from head to toe, Emmett stopped at her eyes and stared sternly. He could tell she was a good person. It was with that thought he glanced behind her at the lining of trees across Jericho Turnpike. Then, Emmett met her eyes again and asked, "Are you alone?"

THREE HOURS BEFORE RACHEL'S ARRIVAL TO WOODBURY

"Look for anythin' pain relievin', stress relievin'..." De'Jah twirled her hand and clicked her tongue, "'N stuff like that. Yeah."
She sat in the window seal of an old house, keeping watch on the outdoors while her fellow campers searched the place for medications and other supplies to bring back to Woodbury.
One of them who was searching under the kitchen sink stopped what she was doing at De'Jah's orders. She turned to look at the golden-skinned girl and rolled her eyes--crouched and resting her elbows on her knees. "You know... You could help," she sassed, brushing a lock of hair behind her gauged ear.
De'Jah, without looking away from the window, eyes fixed on a few Walkers roaming the streets they'd cleared, responded in a snarky tone, "You know... I could... but... You knooow~"
Liv narrowed her eyes, then returned to her hunt. Saying anything more would only be a waste of breath and time.

The sound of loud footsteps caught both girls' attention and they turned to the source. Michael Tate came marching into the archway of the kitchen with a bottle of unopened liquor in one hand, and a few shot glasses in the other. A wide grin brightened his bruised face, blonde hair covering his forehead and running down the back of his neck in a stringy, greasy manner. "Lookadis! Found it in a girl's room."
Both Liv and De'Jah looked at him and were silent... then they looked away.
"No one's finna be 'toxicatin' 'emselves in tha' fuckin' apocalypse, bruh," De'Jah argued, waving her tactical knife around as though tracing Michael's person.
"Yeah, Michael, it's kind of dangerous. You haven't drank any, have you?" Liv asked.
Michael's smile faded slowly. He looked at the bottle in his hand solemnly and sagged his shoulders, "Nah, man. It ain't even open. I was just thinkin' we could celebrate our return to the camp. We've been out for three days. It wouldn't hurt." His reasoning hit home with Liv, so she forced a smile and agreed with him, "True. We'll keep it on hand, but know it's not a priority."
Michael grinned, laughing, "Aweso-o-oome!"
Appearing behind him was Trey, one of the more handsome members of the camp. "Did they say yes?" He asked--his voice immediately catching De'Jah's attention and stealing her from the window with a light gasp. Her weight on the floor fostered an annoying creak, to which Trey glanced in her direction. De'Jah smiled, fluffing her hair and adjusting her glasses. "What? Was you wantin' to drink, too?"
Trey shrugged, "I mean... I guess. You guys ready to head out? I've got about every medication that ends in 'e'... So," he paused--patting his red duffel--then continued, "We should be set to head back, but the search isn't over."
"Let's go, then," Readied Liv.
"I'm down," Michael.
"Okaaay~" And De'Jah.
All together, they left the house.

ONE HOUR AND TWENTY FIVE MINUTES LATER

Liv, De'Jah, Michael, and Trey all stood back to back beside of Pinelawn Road--right outside of West Hollow Middle School. They were completely surrounded by Walkers. Crashed into the succession of planted trees that separated the group from Old East Neck Road was an ambulance which Liv had decided to search, requesting that Trey pull the vehicle over, a black Sedona with tires as bald as Mr.Clean.
Everything was okay at first. Liv had found some useful items, syringes and oxygen tanks. The group was loading them into the Sedona until Micheal accidentally triggered the sirens to the ambulance. Not knowing how he did it, he couldn't turn them off, and therefore attracted every Walker and more within a mile plus from where they stood.
When they returned to the Sedona to try and escape, it wouldn't start. Thinking quickly on Trey's accord, they climbed atop of the ambulance, out of the zombies' reach and began fending them off as they came. Fifteen minutes gone by and the hoards only grew larger, but the piles of bodies surrounding the ambulance provided more cover, keeping most of the zombies at a distance.
In a loud and frantic voice, Liv explained, "We're just wasting ammo! We don't have enough left to keep this up!"
Trey responded, "We're doing what we can, Liv!" He fired two rounds, taking out two Walkers that had made their way up the hill of corpses and almost onto the ambulance.
"We wouldn't be here if you didn't decide on it, Liv!" De'Jah reminded with a mental finger in Liv's face, her voice raised over her own gunshots.
Ignoring the established blame, Liv continued fighting off Walkers. She kept glancing towards the back of the hoard where there seemed to be a Sprinter trying to shove through the other zombies. If there was anything that could get to them--that was it.
It happened to be that Michael noticed it, too, taking Liv's side and informing the others, "Sprinter!"
"I see it," responded Trey.
"Michael, watch out-" De'Jah warned as Michael's foot neared uncomfortably close to the edge of the ambulance. When he slipped off, everyone screamed his name. Trey took a dive onto his stomach, trying to reach for Michael's hand, but it was only a matter of seconds before the Walkers snatched him away.
He dropped his head and punched the roof of the ambulance, "FUCK!"
De'Jah's hands were placed over her mouth as a look of sincere sorrow washed over her face, "Oh no..."
Liv, still shooting off zombies, raised her voice at the two, "Come on, guys! We can't stop now." This struck a nerve in De'Jah, to which she approached Liv and grabbed her by the back of the shirt, jerking her onto her bottom. "Fuck off, Liv! This is all your fault! It's your fucking fault! Fuck you!" Her voice was high-pitched and broken over the loss of Michael. Not only that, but her own life was in danger, too. De'Jah was becoming determined to live... She had an idea.
When Liv stood up again, she faced De'Jah and shoved her, "Keep your hands off me, De'Jah! It isn't like you've never done anything wrong!"
De'Jah shoved Liv, "Fuck you! Nothin' like this!"
"What about your parents!" Liv yelled, shoving her finger deep into De'Jah's chest, seemingly shocking the golden-skinned girl. It was then that De'Jah's face turned sour, "Oh hell no." She took a firm step forward and thrust both of her hands into Liv, sending her back and off of the ambulance. Liv rolled down the pile of corpses and was immediately swallowed by the swarm of Walkers without so much of a squeak. There, De'Jah stood staring. Her expression was void of remorse for what she'd done, as this wasn't the first time. Many a trip accompanied by De'Jah usually ended with a few lives lost--most of the deaths being due to her stubborn and deceitful personality. She was truly careless of those around her.

When she finally turned around, Trey stood in silence at what she'd done. He didn't look surprised, nor did he appear angry... but more so tired. De'Jah's eyes were directed toward her feet when Trey spoke, "Why?" She didn't quite know how to answer that. Before even a moment could pass, Trey shook himself off and quickly took De'Jah's wrist, "Forget it for now... We have a chance."
While the zombies were distracted by dinner, Trey and De'Jah carefully hurried down the mountain of corpses and escaped into the black Sedona in hopes of it starting up so that they could leave. De'Jah took the passenger seat; Trey took the driver's. He turned the key once and nothing happened--only the strained coughing of the engine. He turned it again and nothing happened.
"Come on!" Trey exclaimed, kicking his foot into the floorboard and turning the key once more, to which the engine roared victoriously. De'Jah cheered, "Yes!" but was met with a hateful glare from Trey. "Don't."

DURING THE TIME OF RACHEL'S ARRIVAL TO WOODBURY

"It saved us," De'Jah mumbled. She still sat in the passenger seat of the Sedona as Trey was behind the wheel. "We got out alive." Her efforts to reason with him fell useless. He wouldn't respond, much less look at her.
With the continued silence, De'Jah forcefully sighed, turning to look out the window of the vehicle with her arm propped on the door and supporting her head. She hadn't showered in days--not since their departure from the camp on this trip. All she had to protect herself and others from the relentless odor emanating from her underarms was a stick of deodorant and tiny bottle of hairspray.
Suddenly thinking back on Liv, De'Jah wondered. Why didn't Trey stop her and Liv from fighting? Why did he stand there without a word?
At that thought, De'Jah stared over at Trey.
He noticed, furrowing his brow, "What?"
"You didn't stop me," she mentioned. "You knew what was going to happen, and you knew it would save us whether it be me or Liv that fell from the ambulance."
Silence.
"I'm not stupid, Trey... But at least I'm not a pussy."
Trey's grip on the steering wheel tightened heavily. He grit his teeth and whispered, "Stop... We'll be back soon." They traveled down North Service Road, cutting off onto Fairchild Avenue due to car blockage on the highway. It would be only ten minutes or so before returning to camp... and they had explaining to do.

Audrey walked out of the Dunkin' Donuts with a proud smile across her face. She then noticed Emmett walking towards her, well at least that's what it looked like. He passed her with a nod and continued on to the area that seemed to have the most attention.

Newcomer? She asked herself. The only way to answer was to get closer. Audrey walked over to the entrance, moving her head from left to right trying to get a better look. "Are you alone?" Emmett asked the girl standing before them. "Newcomer, figured. Nothing better than a girl trying to survive the end of the world." Audrey takes a few steps closer, maybe a little too close. Standing in front of the girl who had just arrived. Her face 10 inches away from her's, with her eyes squinted. "Who are ya'?" She asks, but just before anyone could say anything, Audrey changed her mind. "Never mind! I don't care." Audrey quickly backs away. "She looks rough." then walks over to Emmett and stands next to him, looking at him with an evil grin on her face. "Do you wanna' torture her? Or kill her? I personally think we should cook her and eat her." Audrey was trying to scare the newcomer.

Maya sat in a chair at the counter. The display cases filled with clothes, beds were placed around the room. Her face completely blank. She clenched her fists and stood up. She took a deep breath then let out a loud scream. She stomped over to a random bed and threw herself on it. She shoved her face into the pillow and screamed in it while kicking her legs. You could say she was throwing a tantrum. "I'M GONNA KILL HER!"

"That's funny. I'm pretty sure she just said the same thing." said a familiar voice from across the room. "Excuse me?" Maya stood up and walked over to the guy. "This is none of your business so could you just shut up for once Will and keep to yourself? It's honestly pathetic." Maya walked away but just then, "What do you expect me to do for fun around here then?" Will chuckled to himself. Maya flipped him off while she left the building.

"The hell is goin' on over there?" Maya was about to walk over there then noticed a certain green haired girl standing next to the psycho that runs the camp. Never mind. Maya sighed. She walked over to the barrel that still had smoke emerging from it due to the previous fire that had been put out. She sat down next to Joey. "Let me guess, Audrey pissed you off again?" He spoke. Maya smiled sarcastically and laughed mockingly. "You're like the hundredth person i have officially told to shut up today." Joey laughed, "It's basically your motto." Maya's sarcastic smile faded, her face suddenly turned red. She couldn't hold back her anger and punched Joey as hard as she could.

"WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!" Joey lied there on the ground covering his bleeding nose. "Some people really need to learn to shut up." Maya walked over to the entrance without caring about who was over there anymore. "What's this? Who's she?"

Everett searched most of the buildings around him and barely found anything. It seemed as though every store was raided when the first outbreak occurred. "This is ridiculous." Everett sat down on the sidewalk and pulled out a water bottle from his bag. He closed his eyes and took one big gulp. Then out of nowhere, multiple gunshots were fired off in the distance. Everett spit out the water and stood up. "Survivors! But... Why are they shooting so much? They're gonna attract every possible walker, I gotta hide." Everett ran down Fairchild Ave. and onto Michael Ct. then took a right entering Autumn Dr. He ran into one of the houses and locked the door. He took a deep breath then began to scan for walkers.

After a minute of searching he sat down on a brown couch in the main room. He finally had a chance to drink his water. He finished off the bottle then looked outside. His skin became more pale than it already was when he saw the large swarm of different kinds of undead roaming the streets. "I'm f*cked." He quickly closed the curtains as the zombies moved closer.

As he went to close the last curtain in room he noticed something black moving in the distance at a speed a normal human couldn't manage. The black blur started to become visible as it grew closer, Everett could then make out what it was. A black Sedona quickly arrived onto Fairchild Ave. but Everett had no way of getting their attention. "I can't go out there, the walkers haven't fully passed yet and that car is just gonna distract them." Everett thought for a minute until an idea popped into his head. He searched every where for any kind of gun. He finally found one in the closet of one of the master bedrooms. Luckily it was a rifle. He was even more relieved when he found a scope and silencer. "Damn, i'm pretty lucky today!" He went up the stairs into the highest room that had a window. Hoping that this would work, he placed the gun out the window and put his eye up to the scope, he took a deep breath and held it. He aimed with his finger on the trigger, focused, then pulled it, taking out one of the walkers. He continued to do this hoping the mysterious driver would notice the dropping bodies of the undead.

One-by-one, people encompassed Rachel and her escorts from a five-foot radius. Baffled by the number of people, Rachel counted a little over forty knowing there are probably more elsewhere. Unfortunately, forty is a large digit these days, especially when referring to other beings, living beings. Word got around quick, aye? She dreamed of discovering a camp for months. She played it over and over in her mind every night as to how relieving it'd feel. Out of all the wonderful scenarios she'd daydreamed, she never imagined her arrival to be so... mystifying. Overlooking the glares in front of her, people began parting in a wave-like manner. The walkway was only vacant for a split-second before people filled the gaps again like water.

A tall man approached, gun at his side, with a face so lifeless that he could probably be mistook for a walker if seen in the forest. His stride was so graceful that his footsteps were almost inaudible. One foot skidded the pavement as he came to a stop. Out of the forty-something people, not a breath was heard among them. The man did a quick glance-over and cast an expression of dissatisfaction. She watched him inspect her, eyes tracing her from head to toe followed by a heart-stopping eye contact.

A foreign accent escaped from him as his lips parted. Russian maybe? "Are you alone?" His voice was so clear, it broke the silence like a hammer shatters glass. Before Rachel could voice a reply, a small girl made her appearance, rummaging through the pool of observers. "Who are ya?"

Rachel's second attempt to respond was interrupted once more, "My-"

"Never mind, I don't care!" The girl backs away and flaunts herself at the man's side. The man made no expression toward this (that Rachel could tell). Rachel heard only pieces of what the girl said next, "--- torture her? Or kill her?" Rachel grew tense for only a moment until the girl continued speaking. "I think we should cook her and eat her." It then registered to Rachel that the petite girl was merely teasing.

Somewhat irritated, Rachel sighs. "I'm going to try this again," she resumes her answer regarding the man's initial question, "Yes, unfortunately...it's just me." Tranquility lingered once more. This made Rachel feel as though she was expected to continue. "The name is Rachel, but save a few breaths and just call me Ray." She then regains her eye contact with the dark-haired man only to regret it shortly after. His glare was piercing, but Rachel refused to turn away. Intimidated, her heartbeat grew quicker with every second of silence. As a trained military interrogator, Rachel as looked into the eyes of men, women, and even children, but never found it this difficult before. These eyes were different. They were...dark.

"Ugggghhhhhh," Jax groaned as he struggled to lift himself into a sitting position. The sunlight shining in from the hallway meant that he had slept in. Fuck! The thin blanket that was intertwined with Jax just moments ago now rested on the tile floor. He threw his legs over the side of the Montclair spa bed and roughly ran his fingers through his hair, then down his face. After placing his feet on the cold floor, the room spun for only a second. Musta stood up too fast. He ambled towards the corner of the room where his clothes laid in a pile. He pulled his shirt over his head, sliding his arms into their sleeves, and tugged at it to remove any wrinkles. He moved to his jeans, then his boots, and lastly, his trench coat. Shuffling towards the door, he snatched his rifle and out the double-doors he went.

"Time for some java!" he jogged toward the Dunkin' Donuts in hopes that he hadn't missed Maya! After a moment of jogging, he noticed that people had gathered together in parking lot around the corner. "Hmmmmmm," he growled in curiosity. Turning towards the group of people, he scanned to see what the commotion was all about, more importantly though, for Maya. If Maya was there, he didn't see her, but he did spot Emmett. I wonder if he needs my assistance? He thought a moment longer. Nah...he'd have fetched for me if so. Probably, shouldn't intervene. Jax would much rather learn of the commotion after everything had died down anyways. Large numbers of people tend to piss him off even if it's for no reason.

Resuming his initial objective, he finally arrived at the coffee shop and ran at the door while softly singing to himself "Time for some coffee! Mm-mm-mm." Wham! His face met the glass door, leaving a smudge on the glass. As he entered the shop, he yelled "Why must it be a damn pull door!? Every other door in this fucking camp is a push door!" I swear that's like my third time doing that...

Observing the room, Maya was no where to be found. He stormed out of the coffee shop even angrier than he was when he entered. Could this morning just get any worse? Stomping over towards the crowd, he began addressing people, asking if they'd seen Maya. "Hey, have you seen the red-headed chick, Maya? You know the one with a hat? She makes the best coffee." People shot several looks that had "Are you kidding me?" written all over it.

There she was! On the other side of the circle, he seen the top of Maya's hat and hurried her way. Trying not to draw attention to himself he begins calling for Maya in a whispering manner, "Hey, Maya! Maya!" Approaching her, he gave her a tap on the shoulder. He holds a finger up to her, trying to regain his breath. "So...." he takes another breath, "I was just wondering..." and another breath, "if you could make me some coffee?" He gives her a half grin, "Please? You're like the only person who knows how I like it." Knowing it's a lot to ask for her to leave the excitement of whatever is going on, he scratches the back of his head. "Pretty please?"

"Stop... We'll be back soon," Trey whispered, his grip tighter than ever around the steering wheel of the Sedona. De'Jah, without a word, stared at him as he navigated slowly through the small town. She was honestly surprised--having thought that Trey was the take-a-bullet-for-anyone kind of guy. He actually let her throw Liv off of the ambulance without a word. . . However. . .
De'Jah crossed her arms, "So who did you want to die?"
Trey appeared surprised at the question. He glanced at De'Jah with a furrowed brow and wide eyes, then shook his head. "Really?" There was a pause. "I didn't want anyone to die. . . No one."
Trey zoned out on the road. His mind wandered back to when De'Jah and Liv were fighting--he knew something would happen. . . Yet he didn't stop it. Why? This was something he asked himself over again. What was the apocalypse turning him into?
"Are you sure?" De'Jah asked.
"I know," Trey stated firmly, glaring at the girl beside him. "Now stop. Get over yourself for once."
De'Jah scoffed, "Jeez. . . You act like I didn't just save your cute ass."
At such a comment, Trey only rolled his eyes and continued to drive as De'Jah leaned her head against the window of the vehicle, awaiting their arrival home.

Silence drifted. The only noise to be heard was the squeaking of the Sedona's breaks--metal on metal begging that they be repaired--and De'Jah now humming a familiar tune. It was only a second before she mumbled the lyrics as well, patting a hand against her leg with each syllable, "...Darling, you look perfect tonight~"
Trey didn't say anything. He knew the song; it was one he liked. His fiance, too. She used to sing it to him when he was stressed or nervous. A truly wonderful woman, she was... Thinking about her brought a suffocating sensation to Trey's chest. He inhaled sharply, watching as a Walker suddenly dropped to the side up ahead. At first, he thought nothing of it. It was the second and third time that narrowed his eyes, to which he gently urged the car to stop, putting it in park and stepping out onto the pavement to look around. De'Jah followed, "Hey. What are you doing?"
Another Walker dropped. "Woah!" She jumped.
"Get close to me," Trey ordered, pulling his revolver out.
"How about we just go! You know hoards are 'bout to storm through here because of tha' ambulance! Don' be dumb."
Trey shook his head, "We have time. This person may not."
"Person?"
"A person, De'Jah. A survivor!" Trey argued, taking two steps back as Walkers neared. "They're obviously being shot- Look at its head. Gunshot." Then, he pointed towards the building beside them, to which De'Jah's attention was directed, "From there." It was a large, joint-modular home made in similar appearance to all other buildings around them. De'Jah could see from one of the windows a gun. She adjusted her glasses and drew her knife, "Wait here!" And with that, the golden-skinned girl took off towards the home. An attempt at opening the door fell in awareness of it being locked, and De'Jah cursed, "Fucking really?" She stabbed her knife through the cheap wood and yelled, "Come out! If you want to survive!"
Trey shot two zombies, then reloaded his gun while he had the chance. "We don't have a lot of time. We'll give him two minutes!"

Maya stood in between the crowd with her arms crossed, eyes focused on what was in front her, completely zoned out. She had no interest in what was happening. She was only waiting for something exciting to happen, or a reason to walk away. Barely able to make out what the people beside her were saying, along with the blurry figures in front of her, she heard a faint whisper in the distance.

"Hey, Maya! Maya!"

Maya could tell it was Jax, but she was too zoned out to speak or react. He then tapped her on the shoulder allowing her to snap out of it, "Hm?" She looked at Jax who then placed his finger in front of her face and took a breath, then he spoke, "I was just wondering..." He stops to take another breath, Maya raised her eyebrows with a concerned look on her face, only thinking to herself, Is he okay? Which he then continued to speak, "If you could make me some coffee?" She cocked her head and rolled her eyes while shooting him a look that said, "You're kidding me?"

"Please? You're like the only person who knows how i like it." Jax raised his and and scratched his head, "Pretty please?"

Maya wasn't surprised, although she was relieved, because she now had a reason to walk away. She put her hands down and smiled, "Of course." She began to walk to the Dunkin' Donuts, "Come on."

Everett was knelt down, looking through the scope. Taking out walkers one by one, hoping the unknown survivors would notice. He stopped for a second to take breath, he deeply inhaled, but didn't exhale. He held his breath to keep steady. He was pouring the sweat, knowing this might be his only chance of survival.

The black Sedona came to a stop causing Everett to raise his head with his eyes wide open, Did they notice? He continued to take out the walkers around them to make sure they noticed. Then, a man with red hair stepped out of the vehicle along with a curly-headed girl with glasses. When Everett fired, taking out a walker next the girl, he knew he had their attention, as the curly haired girl jumped. Everett put down the rifle and stood up, he could tell they were talking. They started to walk towards the building. "Yes! Could this day get any better?" Everett ran down the stairs and up to the door.

The door knob rattled, "F**king really?" Everett heard a soft thud and saw a small pointy object sticking through the door. A little vicious, but that's okay. The girl then yelled, "Come out! If you want to survive!" Two shots were fired.

"If I want to live?" Everett chuckled, "You're the ones who're locked out there, about to be surrounded by walkers." He placed his hand on the door knob and thought for second, What if they attack me as soon as I open this door? Then again...

"I wouldn't try anything funny when I open this door if I were you. So, are there only two of you?"
