I know everyone immediately goes to the Character Sign Up tab when clicking on a thread, so I'm posting all the rules here:

1. Follow all RPN rules, the usual stuff.

2. I reserve the right to reject a character at any time or eject a character from my RP if I feel they don't belong.

3. Please use correct spelling and have as little grammatical errors as possible. It's not hard to use spellcheck or grammarcheck. If I see several errors it's an immediate rejection.

4. Read through all tabs. It's important.

5. This is a detailed role-play so please post at least a minimum of 5 sentences (I'm trying to go easy) per post.

6. No god-modding or meta-gaming (the basics). 7. Role play in third person at all times.

7. I will be playing the NPC Captain and any other NPC staff.

8. The Alien: At the moment, no one is playing the Alien. If someone wishes to, they must PM me. I'll be very thorough with the application and writing samples of the Alien. If it doesn't reach my standards you will not be a candidate. Only use the Alien when it pertains to your character, if it's not already in another scene, and you cannot use it to attack another character. If in a scene with multiple characters being attacked by the Alien, I will play the alien.​

She can usually be seen wearing a large amount of flashy jewelry, especially rings.

  Personality: Professionally, she's a cunning young woman with a sharp tongue. She's be a bit of a flirt at times and has a penchant for athletics. A little bit of a narcissist, but she's a sweet enough girl. She cares immensely about the most important people in her life but can that can sometimes lead to them distracting her from focusing on other things as well, such as work and school. She's be outspoken and always voice her opinions, and when others disagree, she usually gets defensive and debates as to why she's correct. Her sharp tongue gets her into trouble sometimes, as she'll say things without thinking and has no filter.
  
  
  Casually, she lets her guard down and shows off her wit and sense of humor. The narcissism is a bit more prevalent, showing that she thinks quite highly of herself. She cracks jokes quite often and sasses others, but usually she's not being serious. She's usually a positive girl, although occasionally anxiety and depression does get the better of her. At times she can seem a bit unmotivated, but there's nearly always something or someone to get her back on track. She tends to self obsess over minor details about herself and this can sometimes cause problems, although she very rarely opens up about them to anyone.
  
  
  Voice: Jasmine has a feminine voice, reaching the Soprano range (in other words, she can sing pretty fucking high). Her voice sounds icy, a bit dangerous even, with a bit of sweetness mixed in with it, almost in an alluring way. When she's angry, it can sound as though it's laced with venom.
  
  
  How They Normally Stand: Jasmine casually stands with her hips cocked to one side, one hand on her hips, while the other arm hangs limply at her side.
  
  
  Likes: "I like my dog Ruby, good food, weed, nice clothes, having friends around, my best friend Emily, and uh... you know, not dying. The good stuff."
  
  
  Dislikes: "Men in positions of authority. Assholes. Raiders. People who think they're too good. People who take from others. People who don't like dogs. Don't trust them. Mushrooms. I fuckin' hate being alone. I have anxiety and sometimes being alone or when it's too quiet or when it's really dark will cause me to have a panic attack. It fucking sucks man."
  
  
  
• Biography: "I was born in the ship to a single mother. My mom made sure I did real well in school so that I could have a good life. I spent a lot of school doing theater as well, I enjoy acting. In my sophomore year of high school I met my best friend Emily. I did so well in school that I was able to graduate a semester early with an Academic Honor's Diploma. Right before my eighteenth birthday I adopted a golden brown pitbull that I named Ruby. Eventually I met my boyfriend, Karter, and got a job working for my grandma in her munitions shop. She's a veteran and has some pretty good experience with guns. In March the ship got attacked by Raiders and... they killed Karter. It hasn't been the same since. And when they told me that news about the alien... I dunno. I'm pretty spooked man."

  The Alien is attacking
  Jasmine sprinted down the halls behind the rest of the crowd screaming. Her grandma was farther up ahead and probably already out of the section, so she wasn't worried about her. Jasmine looked over towards her best friend who had a terrified look in her eyes. "Come on Emily. We gotta hurry up!" She ran a little bit faster and began to push through the crowd. She looked behind her and saw that Emily was catching up fast. They could see the doors now, they would be out in a minute. The Captain came on over the intercom, "We will be shutting the doors in thirty seconds. Please evacuate to the nearest exit." The crowd began to scream and Jasmine was pushed down. Emily didn't see that she was pushed down and kept running. Jasmine fell behind the rest of the crowd and watched as the doors began to slide shut. Emily made it through but she didn't see her grandmother. She got up and began sprinting towards the doors, as fast as she could. The transparent doors slid shut just as she reached them. Emily was looking through the doors and it looked like she was screaming. She couldn't hear her. She yelled and began to cry. She banged on the glass doors and slumped against them. Emily put her hand up against the glass and Jasmine did the same. She yelled, "I love you! You're my best friend." to her. She didn't have the chance to say it back because guards came and dragged her away from the doors. Jasmine couldn't do anything but sit there and cry. She knew it wasn't anyone's fault but her own. She sat there for a while, wondering what to do.

If her head wasn't attached she'd lose it in five minutes, but she's never without her goggles (around her neck or on her head) or her multi tool (in it's hip holster or in her hand).

  Voice: Calculating and fast. Marx often forgets to slow down for others and that real conversations involve other people. For the most part shes rather free-speaking, her voice is very middle of the road. Except when she's scared, then her voice squeaks, she stutters, she rambles. As a calculating individual, emotions usually put her off and make her voice falter.
  
  
  How they normally Stand: You can tell what's going on in her head by the way she stands. Straight backed is thoughtful, calculating, thinking things through. Hunched is tired, scared, unable to think properly. More often then not shes got her hip cocked so she can rest her hand on her muti-tool
  
  
  Likes: "Tech, metals, science, chemicals, math, integral calculus, books, my limbs attached to my body, coffee. The basics really, I'm not one for acidics...and puns. People who talk to me first...I'm not too social."
  
  
  Dislikes: "Death, mostly, or bodily things in general. Uh, things that get in the way of my work. Furry animals in my lab. Furry people in my lab. People in my lab. The color pink unless its associated with phenopthaline in a controlled buffer reaction. Scary things, in general."
  
  
  
• Biography: "Oh, uh my backstory? Well, I was born off ship, in a satellite off of some planet I don't remember the name off. When I was five or so, Dad got a new job here as head engineer and he and mom ended up breaking up over it. I went with dad, duh, and have been on the ship ever since. I don't really remember school much, I remember that my technical teachers loved me, my liberal studies teachers hated me because I spent they're classes working on specs. Graduated...some time ago, and now I work with my dad down in the caves (engine rooms). Well, I mean, I used to. When those raiders came, they shot him in the back. He didn't die then, they had paralyzed him below the waist...then this creature, what ever it is...when it first got here, Dad was being transferred to 2C13 for regenerative medical treatment and he was one of the first. I don't know what to do now, I'm not exactly alien killing material am I? Rather just hole up in my lab and finish a few experiments. Or hangout with some of the turners down at the oil-slick! Oh uh, turners are what we engineers call each other, the oil slick is the 'break room'.
  
  
  Small Corruptions: "I've been told I'm the dumbest smart person you'll ever meet. I'm forgetful and I either know a subject inside and out or not at all. Because of this, I've accidentally stolen a couple things. Not consciously, I just needed them and they were there and I didn't realize they weren't mine until later.   "What the hell are you still doing here?!"
  
  
  Marceline didn't like people in her lab for that reason. More often than not they barge in, yelling about something or other, while she's trying to do some delicate work. In this case handle a soldering iron. She jumped when Jacks (his actual name is Jeremy) slammed open her lab door and had accidentally driven the solder into her arm. Marx yelped and dropped the iron. "What the hell are you doing barging into my lab?! Do you understand how to knock?"
  
  
  Jacks didn't reply, only rushing over and yanking her after him out of the lab and down the hallway. Marx stumbled behind him, barely able to keep up with the larger engineer. She was about to protest when they came into a large room filled with people all trying to squeeze through the door at the other end. "What's going on?" Marx tugged at Jacks to get his attention.
  
  
  "We will be shutting the doors in thirty seconds. Please evacuate to the nearest exit."
  
  
  Jacks tugged right back, barreling his way through the crowd. "Evacuating!? Why are we evac--the alien? It's here?!" Marx yelled over the others, but Jacks didn't reply. Jacks was no shrinking violet, Marceline had seen him bend a metal chair leg on a dare, but she'd never seen him use that strength against anyone. Now he was shoving people left and right like they were made of paper. Some people didn't like that.
  
  
  Just as they reached the door one man Jacks had shoved, shoved right back, only to miss and hit Marx. She fell to the ground, ripped from Jacks' grasp, and separated by a glass door.
  
  
  "No! Open this god damn door!" Jacks slammed on the glass as guards grabbed him by the arms. All the panic and fear hit her all at once. She kicked the doors and yelled and screamed like a child until her voice died and the tears took over. She hated the mix of emotions. If Jacks knew about this then the others had to too. Did they get off? As much as she didn't want to be alone, she didn't want them to be here either. She curled up into a ball against the door, sobbing and hyperventilating and knowing she could have made it out.

  Despite how timid he is he will occasionally stand up for himself if it irritates him enough, but that's rare. He's not the type of person who gets easily annoyed, that said, he doesn't get angry often. Jett is a very understanding person who's always willing to hear someone out before deciding what to think. He hates seeing others argue and will either wait until it ends or break it up himself.
  
  
  When first meeting, Jett most people think he's a very calm and patient person. Those people are correct. He is extremely laid back, some say too laid back. He has been noted to not take things too seriously and appear somewhat lazy.

  "My dad landed a job on a space ship and my family was transported there, it was fun for awhile but it got boring after a few months or so. That was before the raiders came and almost found my family hiding in the closet, we were lucky. He walked out probably because he was too lazy to search the place from top to bottom. Even worse than the raiders is the alien. It's just too much."

  Jett sat in his room, the only sound filling the empty air was the television. He didn't have anything to do, everyone he knew was either busy or they simply didn't wanna hang out. He was bored out of his mind, after all, "Animal Planet" could only hold his interest for so long. He aimed the black remote at the TV and shut it off, as soon as he did the sounds of screams and heavy footsteps shrouded his ears. "What's going on out there?" He asked himself as he got up and walked to the door. He opened it and furrowed his brow when an extremely large mob of people corrupted his view.
  
  He squeezed his way through, mumbling things such as "Scuse' me." or "Pardon." He attempted to ask people why they were running but his response was a barrage of shoves and kicks. He gritted his teeth in pain. What were these people's problems? 'What the hell is going on?' he asked himself internally, half-expecting an answer. After a few more moments of getting shoved and kicked he decided to follow the mob.

  "What?" He nearly yelled, sweat began to furiously drop from his forehead to his shirt. 'Could it be the alien?' He hoped not, that was something he definitely didn't need! He was swept closer and closer to the nearest exit by the mob, almost like heavy currents. Even though they were running at full speed, they were still going slow. The door was only five feet away, but he heard something that turned him as pale as a ghost. The cries of a child.
  
  He turned swiftly and literally pushed his way outside of the crowd. There he was, a child who lost his parents was crying yet nobody else even gave him a passing glance. A rash decision filled his head. He grabbed the child and held him up in hopes of catching the attention of his parents. Luckily he did, and they grabbed the child and rushed through the doors.
  
  He attempted to follow suit but the doors were slammed shut in his face. His eyes widened as he banged on the glass, fury written across his face. A guard looked him directly in the eyes before walking away from the doors. Leaving him alone with a few others who also didn't make it in time.

  Nicky, or Nick was with a group of people testing on some radio active chemicals in a small lab, estimating about 6 people or so. He had on goggles, a white suit like that you would see experimenters where if they didn't want to get their nice clothing dirty. He also had gloves, because some of the stuff they use are quite hot.
  
  He began to look back, and forth with his notes, and the things that is in front of him in order to get it right. Before he could carefully drop a pinch of liquid inside of the tube, an alarm would sound which had startled poor nicky. The group of people also wondered why the sudden alarm, and as nicky and the others began to see what was going outside everyone started heading towards that exit that the announcer had stated a couple of seconds after the alarm.
  
  Nicky was more worried about the mess he made instead of the others who was already out there, a surprised look came about as he speed walk towards the door with other hoards of people in his way, just a few minutes had passed. Before he could make it the door would shut in his face. A sudden confusion swarm around nicky, and the remaining others who was left out.

Also, most of the characters should be born on this ship, and any that weren't born on the ship don't come from Earth. This has meant that he has been exposed to significant quantities of radiation, neccesitating a rebuild of the majority of his musculoskeletal sytem, and agressive cancers are only kept at bay by rigourous nano-therapies. Nevertheless, it did allow him to detect and prevent an undetected power malfunction that would have shut down a whole inhabited cryobay if it had not been detected. His excuse that he had custom installed detection software coupled with an emergency wakeup function is the only reason he has not been subject to punitive measures.

  Evacuation alarms blare in his ears. He considers his map of the section on his HUD for a moment. 500 yards from his current position to the nearest evacuation exit. Given the current configuration of his support chassis, he cannot make it to the exit within the time allocated from the first sounding of the alarms to the sealing of the section. Ajusting for if he takes the time to reconfigure his chassis to rapid movement rather than high torque levels...and he still does not make it, though by a much smaller margin.
  
  Within his ajusted mind, a dance of value judgements are made. He, like all other core systems crew, had seen the casualty predictions for if this xenoform was able to escape into an uncontainable enviroment. Therefore, any action that is taken to ensure containment, as long as it ensures that net survival and net survivor quality of life is greater than the alternative, if justified. Within his mind, certain thresholds are crossed, and emergency behavioural protocols are engaged.
  
  He hauls himself out of the sanitation maintenance duct, setting sub-routines in his implant to shift the structure of his body-chassis for speed. It would take time, in which he was limited to a brisk walk unless he wanted to throw off the recalibration; but on the whole it was far more efficent than the alternative.
  
  First destination, then, was the biolabs. It was time to stress-test this super-predators succeptability to things it couldn't tear apart with it's fangs. He drew up a list of contagions that he knew he would be able to synthesise once he reached the labs. It was much, much easier to destroy the structures of life than it was to maintain it, after all. He was sure that the xeno-analysts would appreciate the data however it went.
  
  He was halfway to his destination before he found his first corpse, though due to his emotional suppresors kicking into crisis mode, it merited no more notice than the torn bulkheads. Perhaps it should have had, as his passage distrubed the corpse, an internal security officer who had similarly been compulsed to fight rather than curl up in a corner. Thus disturbed, a small black orb rolled out from his hand, somthing depressed no longer being so, and a light began to flash, faster and faster and...
  
  He returned to consciousness somewhat battered, though still intact. What troubled him far more was the words 'unknown error found: process could not conclude' dancing before his eyes on his HUD. He lay there, sending the command to reboot his chassis, and contiuing to recive similar messages. He thought he heard the tramp of inhuman feet in the distance, and composure cracking for the first time in a long, long time, gave the message to engage the emergency overrides, slaving his chassis to his cerebral implant.
  
  It would function now, it just required him to exert conscious control at all times. How hard could that be? He concentrated, and his battered and blackened body raised itself to standing. He reevaluated the time it would take for him to get to the biolabs. It was not a nice number. still, it wasn't like he could do anything about it. He lurched down the corridor, faint subvocalizations of "Left leg. Right leg..." marking his wake.
