Fandom Claymore: Warmongers (A Claymore AU)

InsaneAsylum

The Chocobo Champion
Claymore: Warmongers

—————

“Did you hear? They found another corpse behind the tavern last night. Poor fool was probably too drunk to even notice the Yoma coming after him. Alcohol didn’t stop him from screaming while his guts were ripped out though.”

“Damn, that’s the fifth one in the last three weeks ain’t it? Did you hear it or something?”

“Of course I didn’t hear it! I did hear that the elders decided it’s time to request one of... them…”

“One of who?”

“A Claymore of course! You ain’t never heard of ‘em?”

“Well…”

“You city kids don’t know nothin do ya… I’ll tell ya ‘bout em. First of all, the Claymore hunt Yoma. Of course, they don’t do it for free. A village has to cough up a lot of coin to actually get one of ‘em to show up. All of them are women with silver eyes. Folks call ‘em Silver-Eyed Witches too.”

“Hold on, so Claymores are just a bunch of women going around killing Yoma?”

“Yes, but there’s one more thing you need to know. The Claymore aren’t exactly human. They’re half Yoma. You can see there eyes change from silver to gold, like a Yoma’s when they’re fighting.”

“So, we’re hiring monsters to kill monsters?”

“Exactly.”

Since you’re reading this, I’m assuming I got your attention. Hopefully you’re considering joining this rp! I’ll try not to waste your precious time.

This rp will be based off of the anime and manga ‘Claymore’. However, the setting and story will be quite different in a variety of aspects. Do note that you won’t need to know much about Claymore to join, since this roleplay won’t involve any plot from the canon.

In this roleplay, your characters will be new warriors of the Organization. The missions that the Organization gives you will not only test you physically, but mentally as your forced to make difficult decesions. Your characters’ willpower will be tested, and they’ll make almost as many friends as they lose. The continent holds many secrets, many of which will be revealed as we progress through the main story line. There will be time for you to branch off with other short story lines in between the main arcs. Character development will be an extremely important aspect of this roleplay!

You must agree to follow these rules if you plan on joining this rp. I have the right to expand upon these rules at any given time if I feel the need.

1: All RPN rules apply.
2: Detailed posts. I expect at least two good paragraphs.
3: Be Active! If you don’t post for two weeks without informing me you’ll be removed from the roleplay.
4: PM me your character sheets for approval. Don’t post it until I give you the go-ahead.
5: Everyone is only allowed one character for now.
6: Have Fun!

The continent of Sichra is an isolated continent, surrounded by merciless oceans who refuse spare even a single ship, and sitting above an unstable earth. Despite the dangerous around and below, the the continent itself has never been the one to blame for the issues its people faced.

Three centuries ago, numerous clans ruled over various parts of Sichra. They were constantly at war with one another over the continent’s natural resources. There was more than enough for everyone, historians say, but greed had corrupted these ancient peoples’ hearts. Two whole centuries later, this war officially ended. There were only three clans left remaining, and they all chose peace. This war is now known as the Ancient War, and each region in Sichra has its own unique opinion of its outcome. These three clans eventually became the four regions present today.

Fifty years ago, Sichra’s peace was interrupted by turmoil within the third region. The lord of the region who had recently inherited the throne, had a dispute with his younger brother on how to rule, and in turn who should rule the region. The younger brother began a rebellion against his sibling, resulting in a civil war. This war resulted in the northern half of the country splitting off, forming the fourth and newest region, Ikar. Ikar sister region however, refused to acknowledge Ikar, despite being unable to retake the region. To this day, Chetvertia constantly threatens Ikar’s borders, tipping the continent’s peace near the edge.

At the same time, demonic creatures that came to be known as Yoma began to appear throughout Sichra. No one knew what they were or where they came from. The only thing that certain was a Yoma’s hunger for human flesh. The people seemed helpless, serving simply as cattle to the Yoma, but one day, the silver-eyed warriors arrived. With ease, they slayed Yoma, In exchange or their services, the villages would give their payment to a mysterious man that arrived after the silver-eyed warriors departed. The people began to call these warriors Claymores, because of the large swords they wielded. However, despite the protection the Claymores provided, people feared them. It became known that these Silver-Eyed Witches were half Yoma. Fear of the Claymores became a common theme across the continent, as the people saw the very warriors who protected them as monsters. The large cities in most regions will not even allow a Claymore to enter their city. However one views a Claymore, there is no denying that the warriors are the only thing keeping humanity safe from the Yoma.

Claymores - Claymores are the warriors created by the Organization to protect the continent from Yoma. They’re created by fusing a human with yoma flesh, resulting in a half-human half-yoma warrior that can harness the abilities of a Yoma.

Claymore abilities include enhanced physical strength, speed, durability and the ability to regenerate, along with the ability to detect Yoma and other Claymores by sensing their Yoki. Normally, Claymore work alone, taking down the Yoma within their own district, unless the Organization orders a group to work together to take down a Voracious Eater.

If a Claymore loses control of their Yoki, they turn in a Yoma themselves, and will be executed by their comrades.

The Organization has always been more successful in the creation of female Claymores. Males have too much trouble controlling their Yoki, and too easily turn into Yoma.

There are two types of Claymores, Offensive-types, and Defensive-types.

Offensive Type Claymores: Claymores that fall under this category have an innate battle prowess that often helps them be more destructive on the battlefield. However, their regeneration abilities are limited, making reattaching limb and recovering from potentially fatal wounds very difficult without assistance.

Defensive Type Claymores: These Claymores have amazing regenerative abilities, allowing them to recover from near fatal wounds if given enough time. They may not have the same offensive capabilities as an offensive type, but they are often adept at the other aspects of their Yoma powers.

----------

The Organization- A mysterious group hidden from society that creates Claymores to protect the people of Sichra from Yoma. Their motives are unknown. There is one rule that the Organization strictly enforces upon the Claymore. That rule is: Never kill a human, no matter the circumstances.

—————

Yoma - Demon-like humanoid creatures that started appearing fifty years ago. They feast on human flesh, and can take on the form of a human.

Voracious Eaters - Yoma that have lived for a long time, and have eaten many humans. They are stronger and often larger than the average Yoma, and possess more abilities as well.

Phew, now that all the interest check mumbo-jumbo is out of the way, who’s interested? Any questions that need answering?

Will you be allowing any male claymores? There were in the early days of the organization, I promise to stay true to their tendency to awaken more than females do

You’ll have to give a very good reason why you were allowed to become a Claymore in your backstory then.

What if he was a special/atypical experiment of the organization to see if they alter the process can they make male warriors more stable.

Why would they suddenly decide to try another male when not only they’ve failed in the past an already have plenty of capable warriors. Your reasoning can’t just be ‘they felt like trying something different’. What did they do differently? Why would they even want to try it differently?

In all honestly to answer your question on whether or not I’ll accept males, it’s most likely going to be a no.

Do you have a CS you would like for players to use? Even just a basic one? Also do you have stats for certain combat aspects of the Claymores? Strength, Dexterity, Endurance, ect... I was just curious if you were going to have the ranking system employed and how important that would be to the rp.

Yea, I do have a CS made for players. It’ll have a stat system, but I’m still working on that aspect of it. The CS skeleton will be posted when enough people show interest and I make the rp.

Another post about playing as males.

What about non-claymore mercenaries? Basically highly skilled specialists from outside the organization hired on contract to support claymore agents in their district and to assist in hunts?

Perhaps say, a soldier kills 2 Yoma in a village before the claymore shows up, this draws the Organization's attention and in exchange for a big sack of gold, they join tbe organization as mercenaries? Also they could say, be explosives experts or technitians capeable of building specialized equipment for Yoma hunting like rapid-fire crossbows and the like?

I’m gonna have to say no. It would be alright early on in the rp, but as the rp progresses and things get more intense and focused on the Claymore, a human would quickly become useless and pretty irrelevant.

And to be quite honest, I don’t think the Organization would ever pay a human for slaying Yoma.

Claymore are the focus of this roleplay, and I wouldn’t want anyone to be unimportant and useless.

I'll try and PM you my sheet atleast by Wednesday. I got two friends who are interested in this as well. I'll bother them about posting on here.

Whoo! More the merrier! Now trying to figure out what sort of abilities I want. Let's go pure power!

I am one of those friends.

How opposed are you to a claymore using throwing daggers in addition to her claymore? They would be more for distracting or attempts at hindering Yoma than killing.

I’d be alright with that! I’d just need you to put the exact amount they have in their CS.
