I'd strongly suggest you actually name someone in your post. Leaving something open and not giving anyone an incentive to interact with you will inevitably end up with people ignoring you. It's possible that someone will humor you and choose to question why your character is so blind as to be unable to tell the difference between men and women, but I certainly wouldn't rely on it.
