His major flaws are alcoholism and hedonism, seeking to fulfill his pleasures more than anything else.

His sadistic nature earned him a place on list of dangerous criminals, as did the fact that he smuggled arms and alcohol in and out of UK. However, it was after he raped and murdered 2 young women, that things went out of hand. His connections with some powerful people helped him escape UK, and he soon found himself in Japan, eager to take a slice of profit from criminal activities in the Land of Rising Sun.

Personality: Shinji usually rubs off as a very nice guy that just likes to make friends. Which he is to an extent, he can be rather cruel and cynical when he is handling "Business." He is usually calm and collected, always focused on what he has his eyes set on, and it takes a lot to anger him. When you do anger him, he'll send your family his regards for murdering you. He is a true Machiavellian when it comes down to it though. He his also someone who will always keep his word and believes honor should be upheld, even if he is a criminal.

History: Shinji was born in the slums of Tokyo, Japan on the infamous street known as Kiss Street. Growing up around crime and without a father figure, it was only a matter of when he would enter the profession of Criminal acts too, which he did at the age of 13. He was a rather cynical child, believing that all people are dishonest and that money is the thing on everyone's mind, no matter what. He made a name for himself in Japan for successfully robbing a wealthy and well-known bank at the age of 16. Living in the slums wasn't always dangerous though, he decided to make a gang with some of his partners in crime at the age of 20, wanting to protect their neighborhood. He and his gang have continued to operate in their territory and have been branching out, making a name for himself and his gang.

History: Torin grew up with only her mother. Her father had been killed in a drive by shooting. Since then, they'd been living off of whatever money her mother could collect on odd jobs. Everything was good till her mom got in on a group that was starting up on kiss street at the time (one later taken down by the cops). She was killed over the matter of a few simple dollars. Since then, she's been stealing and breaking in place by place to get a living. She'd been going that for 8 years until she started in the gang at 18. She's been in the gang 3 years now, doing the jobs they asked to make ends meet.

Ellis

With family lineage tracing back to ancient England, France, and many other cultures, Ellis has the vigor and appearance of a hunter. Although living in the near future, he still retains many of his ancestor's tracking traits-- such as the ability to keep quiet while moving and blowing his nose without using too much paper. When alone, he's the funny type, although not on purpose. You know, he's 'that guy': the one that stutters when he talks, the guy who runs into walls and backs up into people on accident, although he's absolutely far from being shy


Despite his intimidating appearance and his slight stuttering problem, Ellis tries to be approachable in his mannerisms and his posture. If he finds himself slouching or hunching over he'll instinctively correct himself. Coming from a disprivilaged family made him more particular about his presence, but some remnants of the life he had growing up still show in parts of his personality and habits .Some might say that he's is an unorthodox character for someone in his line of work, but he really just thinks of his 'work' as individual adventures. He's only been in the business for a few years and as such has yet to make some strong connections so he really doesn't know what the hell he's doing. Sometimes it shows. He's gotten a few jobs from the lower class of thugs and has made some currency that way, but most have been just lowlifes looking to bring home a quick buck or upper class skinny girls trying desperately to cut weight. Ellis isn't complaining of course; he's just after enough money to pay his child support and the bills.

The most striking feature of Ellis is his jaded, almost soulless eyes. Colored a dull brown, they pour out sadness like a plea for help. He doesn't know it but he appears forlorn when not laughing, and even then he seems like he has something to hide. Beneath his eyes are thin, quivering lips that never stop smiling-- a telling sign of a naïve soul. He makes it hard to hide as even in serious situations he can be spotted choking back a chagrin. When he's not wearing some sort of head covering, which is rare, Ellis' thick dark brown locks are either slicked back or parted to the side, conveniently showing off the shaved sides of his hair.

Personality


Ellis loves patterns. Seriously. Spotting discrepancies between statements could almost be described as a hobby for him, making that one reason why it's a bad idea to lie to him. The other would be too surprising to detail. It makes it kind of ironic that his word should always be taken with a grain of salt, however – it's not that he's dishonest or a liar, but he does tend to share thoughts that are not fully developed. This also means that sometimes he may appear to drift about in an unending daydream. His thought process is unceasing, and his mind buzzes with ideas from the moment he wakes up, consequently this constant thinking can have the effect of making him look pensive and detached. But really Ellis is quite relaxed and friendly when he's with people he knows. However, with him friendly banter can quickly become combative if he believes his logical conclusions or theories are being criticized. So those that have been around him for a while have realized this threat and are usually genial with small talk.


Further describing him, with cold logic as one of his governing traits, Ellis is unlikely to understand emotional grievances at all, and his acquaintances won't find a shard of emotional support in him. This will likely extend to most social conventions and goals as well, like planning dinners and getting married, as Ellis are is more concerned with originality and efficient results. This isn't to say that he doesn't try, though, but sometimes he makes some socially awkward gestures that could quiet a room.


The one thing that really holds him back is his restless and pervasive fear of failure. He has become so prone to reassessing his own thoughts and theories, worrying that he's missed some critical piece of the eternal puzzle, that he can get stuck, lost in an intangible world where his thoughts are never truly applied. Overcoming this self-doubt stands as the greatest challenge Ellis is likely to face, but the intellectual gifts – big and small – bestowed on the world when he does makes it worth the fight.


History




Ellis was born in Arizona, USA to two powerful businesspeople whom ran a prominent shipping industry. His parents met at an upper-class mixer: his mother snuck in through the kitchen door and his father already was established as the supervisor of a construction company. She had attended with the idea that she would find a handsome sugar daddy, and boy did she find one. Donning pastel Gucci and golden lace on her fingertips, she captured him with her sky high cheekbones and equally high heels. His pearled mouth was agape with wonder.


They married three months afterwards.


As he worked up the ranks, Ellis' father found himself the CEO of an international shipping company nearly overnight. She was as spoiled as milk that had been left out in the July heat. Rubies from Africa, diamonds from France, and silk negligées. Her inky black hair would pour over her sterling silver necklaces that she wore out to dinner parties. This was the life she had always wanted for herself. Her husband was working nonstop: flights to California, then to New York, then back to California. It was two months after their 7th anniversary that she found out that she was pregnant.


Ellis was left with nannies and au pairs that mooched off of the free lilac-scented toilet paper that was reserved for the guest bathrooms. Of course, he was a happy child; he did love his nannies. So much so that he would hardly recognize his own mother when she finally came home dressed in Chanel. It was only a matter of time before she fell from her glory soaked perch.


His mother became involved romantically with an international con-man who was later found out to be counterfeiting American currency. When he turned 6, his parents divorced and his mother moved to Japan to hopefully salvage what was left of her relationship with the man she had an affair with. His father stayed in the USA to run the shipping industry that he had been appointed to do. With his mother being preoccupied with her new beau, Ellis was left to raise himself.

History: Mother was a responsible one, and focused mainly on taking care of young Stephanie. Steph's father made the sacrifice of doing dirty work to earn an easy living. Their streets weren't the safest, and this was the only choice they had. Stephanie's older brother had killed both of their parents, and raised Steph into a devious but (to them, a sort of) good life. (Specifics of her history will be revealed later on.)

He's now 23 so quite a bit older, a bit more built and usually dressed in jeans and a T-shirt with a jacket over it to hide his pistol. So in essence, he looks a little something like this now: (yes he has the tattoo but it's the now extinct Sakai family yakuza tattoo, which he sees more as a brand than a choice)

Kota is soft spoken, probably more akin to a machine than a person he quantifies things in his life and carries himself in a calm almost docile fashion unless provoked. His eyes look uncaring and his demeanor is typically dismissive, but despite this he still performs actions somewhat thoughtfully,but when challenged or provoked a different Kota comes out. You see Kota loves violence, he absolutely adores it, reveling in every hit, every stab, the breaking of bone and mashing of sinew is an orchestra of wondrous music to his ears. Truth be told Kota is nice, and he's always a gentleman, always making subtle often underwhelming kind gestures whilst not involved in violence, but can he really help it if people are scared of him, after all there's really no telling what will flip his switch.

History(Optional): Kota is the son of an american soldier and a Japanese mother. Born in Japan while his father was deployed as a Marine on the local American base Kota was well taken care of. In fact when his father retired and moved the family to a small house on the outskirts of town Kota was thrilled, his papa and mother were finally together without his father leaving for tours of duty. Together the small family would make it by alright, doing things happy families did together, and growing as the years went by. Or at least they did until they didn't, you see Kota's mother wasn't exactly just any young girl, she was the daughter of a crime family boss, a family that just so happened to have arranged for her to marry into an ally family.


But Kota's mother fell in love with a soldier, and so with the US government on their side the two eloped on base, and were protected from harm for years. Only when both families were destroyed in a war did Kota's mother return to Tokyo proper and start her life together with Kota and her husband. But not all was as it seemed and one night remnants of both families attacked the home. Kota's father fought bravely but was ultimately killed, while his mother was raped and killed in front of him. Kota once happy life was over, and as he was thrown into a van and captured by the now united remnant family it would become clear that nothing would be the same again.


Over the next few years Kota would be raised by the family, not as an heir, but as a dog. He was molested, abused, fed scraps and forced to fight over and over again. All the while the remnants of the two proud families began to grow, larger and larger, their territory growing until finally they had carved out a small but sizable chunk of Tokyo. The boss of the two families grew attached to Kota, loving his dog, abusing him more and more, and yet rewarding him for his efforts all the same. At age 12 he was being entered in dogfights, and by 15 Kota was regularly being entered in bare knuckle brawls. Unfortunately as the youngest to show, he was often defeated by much older, seasoned combatants. His bones would break, his body would fall, but all the same he'd always get back up until he turned 17. By 17 he'd stopped losing, by 17 Kota was certifiably an animal, an animal that had no remorse, and no limits. Pushed to the brink over and over again had taught Kota to hit first more often than not, and strike with the intention to kill in every contest. It earned him a spot at the side of the gang's leader and a nickname to boot. The "Savage", it was what they called him, what he was when he fought, an animal with the mental foresight of a man, they couldn't think of a more fitting title. So for a while Savage was all Kota was, enforcing the rules of the family, and following the leader around like a trained dog to intimidate and beat down opposing gangs and their top fighters.


Kota would be trained in table manners, and learn how to shoot and do things properly, heck he even had an uncanny knack for it, but in the end things always resulted in bloodshed, and when the chips were down they could all count on Kota getting up close and personal. Kota would remain the chief's bodyguard for the next few years, until an ambush organized by traitors resulted in an unarmed Kota killing 6 armed men. The incident known throughout the underground as "The Last Supper" had Kota slaughter 6 of his former brothers without batting an eye, and while the chief was shot in the knee, his life was saved.


After the Supper Incident, the chief now partially crippled by the incident, and shocked by Kota's lack of remorse or hesitation in killing the family's formerly most trusted brothers, decided to take out an insurance policy to make sure Kota would remain loyal. He'd have Kota hooked on drugs and become his only supplier, making sure Kota could go nowhere else, and thus ensuring his own safety.


This only seemed to exacerbate Kota's unstable side though as he became even more violent when under the influence of uppers, and even less human when on his downers or sober. For a while it was ideal but soon the family lost it's corner on the drug market, it having been bought out from under them by a rival. With the supply gone, Kota became erratic, and while the boss still had a fairly significant supply, Kota decided to break the chain, securing an unhealthy dose of painkillers and stealing sake from the kitchen, he'd numb himself through the pain of the withdrawals of his addiction, and proceed to kill his master.


Systematically Kota would kill everyone asleep in the main house, and move onto some of the more significant others, before finally succumbing to self inflicted blood toxicity and kidney failure. He'd wake up to find himself in a hospital, hooked up to a dialysis machine and glancing down at a scar where his kidney was. It appeared as if he'd been rescued, heck he may have even gotten a new Kidney, and as Kota wondered why a man would step forward. This man was none other than the rival gang's leader Tenshi Satsuma, a man that held the most stake in the fall of Kota's family, and who was starting to win the drug war prior to Kota's slaughter.


Tenshi thanked Kota for eliminating his enemy, and told him that his prior family, the Sakai were now being wiped up by his men. The new Kidney was a present, and Tenshi assured him he would be free to go after he recovered. But Kota didn't have anywhere to go, and as he watched this man leave his room he'd stop him, speaking for what felt like the first time. "I want work" he'd say, to which Tenshi assured him he'd find it, "No.....I want to work for you" he'd say with no small amount of conviction. At this Tenshi would smile and sit down with Kota, filling him in on his vision of the future.


So there you have it, Kota is now the free lance or unaffiliated enforcer of the Satsuma family,never formally initiated or adopted, being unaffiliated officially means he takes jobs for other families but anyone in the "know" in the underground has a pretty good understanding where his loyalties will lie if the wars get real. Kota is a one man operation with connections in drugs, weapons, and illegal fighting, and he's loyal to Tenshi personally, not necessarily his family.

Quiet at first, but slowly more and more open as you get to know her, Yeon Jae is a mature, calm female, preferring to be more of an observer and a listener. Whenever she opens her mouth, she speaks in a tranquil, polite and concise speech pattern that often surprises people, given her intimidating gaze. She is described as intelligent, skeptical and straightforward by those around her, with an open yet bitter outlook on the world. She easily lets out comments and remarks, blunt words that cut straight to the point. To Yeon Jae, there's no need for formalities nor complexes, given the simple individual that she is. She can turn out to be a reliable once you get close to her, given her perfectionist and headstrong nature, though it may backfire at times. Awkward and with a keen lack of empathy for those around her, she is a a steady and unflappable young woman that believes that honesty is the best policy. Responsible and intuitive, she can turn out to be quite the exceptional peer and despite her lack of charisma at times, no one can deny her role as a valuable asset despite her flaws. Yeon Jae is also extremely observant of others, noticing small details that most people don't see and easily reads other people's faces. Whenever she is focused, her actions reveals a bit more of herself than most people perceive it. She can be quite wary around others however, with a judgemental and psychologically tense mind, as well as impatient. An example is shown as she does not get along with people she perceives as disgusting. Even she if he does make an effort, it is blatant to see how much she dislikes them. Yeon Jae can also turn quite violent when angered, as well as scary, which frightens even herself as well, given her collected and seemingly relaxed attitude.

History


Despite Korea being the place where her birth took place, Yeon Jae never expressed desire to associate to it, as she always considered Japan to be where her home lied, having moved there at the age of 3 by the occasion of her father's job. Being a middle child among her family was never really something that she cherished in her life, as she was constantly compared to her siblings and so on, but she could not really complain. Her life was simple but stable both psychological and financially. When Yeon Jae reached her teenage years, things began to take a turn for the worst, to say the least. Perhaps out of rebellion, perhaps not, one thing was certain: Yeon was not the same girl that had arrived at Japan 10 years ago anymore. Gaining habits such as drinking, smoking, vandalism, skipping classes, she would find this choice to be a way of escaping her routine, to regain her freedom, even for just a matter of seconds. Soon enough, her family would eventually give up on any chances of her "recovery", instead leaving young Yeon Jae to make her own decisions, to wander aimlessly with no objective in mind and to simply be a disgrace for society. She would then move in with an apartment she shared with a friend in the center of Tokyo, never fully straining away from this path. She would eventually find her way into the criminal world of Tokyo, engaging in even more dangerous activities along the way. Her talent with computers, though you could call it precocious by her displays at a young age, revealed, during this time, to be her most prized way of achieving profits. But Yeon was still young and naive, she could not survive with just skill. And she learned this from the hard way...Escaping the authorities for quite a while, she would find herself years later joining Tenshi Satsuma's gang, gaining both experience and ways of protection while contributing to its course of actions.

Personality: Kazuma is a family man at heart. But he has two families, one by blood, and one by brotherhood. To his wife and two children, he is a loving father and husband, who provides for. To his Wakagashira and Shateigashira (First and Second Lieutenants) he is like a father. To his Kyodai(Big Brothers) he is like a Grandfather. His closest allies regard him as a reliable, trustworthy and disciplined man, and even his worst enemies respected his discipline as a mob boss. And if they didn't, they wouldn't be alive for much longer. In his Family, there is nothing more important than Jingi (Justice and Duty). Loyalty and respect are a way of life.

History(Optional): Born in 1949 to a Ex-naval Officer in the Imperial Navy, and a Prostitute in the city of Fukuoka in the Fukuoka province, he was taught how to Sail a ship, command "crew mates"(His childhood friends) and manage a vessel by his father, who fought in World War II as a Naval Officer on a Wakatake Destroyer class vessel. His mother was a prostitute who gave up her profession upon finding that she was pregnant, and settled with his father in Fukuoka.


Kazuma grew up in a volatile area of his city, but his fathers military career had payed off well, and afforded him the opportunity to go to a high class school. He passed through school with flying colours, and pursued his career as a politician in Fukuoka University, studying a Politics Degree. However, he would drop out not long before his final exam to pursue a criminal career. His motivations are unknown, however.


He joined a fledgling Yakuza family (The Dojin-kai) that was desperate for members, so much so that they would allow a young 19 year old Kazuma to join them. Initially they wished for him to become a Kaikei (Accountant) for the family, and he was for a few months, but during a police raid he showed great proficiency in defending his brothers. Upon this recognition, he was promoted to a Kyodai (Big Brother). However, he had sustained many gunshot wounds during the raid, and couldn't participate in any sort of combat or extortion for the rest of the year.


One feat of expertise would show the family how lucky they had been to recruit this young Tanaka son. One day, when Tanaka was still recovering from his injuries, a rival Yakuza family (Seido-kai) had attempted to rob the hospital of it's drugs. Kazuma, recognizing the rival gang, got out of his bed, and slowly walked to where the robbery was happening, and confronted the robbers. Somehow, a few minutes later, all three walked out of the hospital with fingers missing, unarmed. No one knows how he did it, and at this point in time CCTV didn't yet exist in hospitals.


At the age of 25, Kazuma met his now wife Onishi, who he would later have two daughters with.


Over the next 5 years, to the age of 30, Kazuma climbed the ranks to the point at which he would succeed the family boss of his position,over the bosses own sons, much to their distaste. But by this point, the respect that Kazuma commanded made it impossible for them to do anything, and in 1985, the boss "died in a car crash" and Kazuma succeeded him.


In 2010, Kazuma Tanaka (Boss Tanaka) is the Oyabun (Family Boss) of the Djoin Kai family, one of the most dangerous Yakuza families in the country, rivaled by the most powerful Yamaguchi-gumi family.
