As much as Jin hated himself for slapping Azure, with how frantic he was acting, Jin just acted on instinct to try and calm him down. Giving a nod of his head once Azure had told him he'd inform him regarding the status on the repairs, Jin gave a light pat while trying to keep the mood light rather than be sulking in the situation they were in. With the Captain now gone and the ship in disrepair, Sabrina running off with some stranger; Jin had to step up and take responsibility as the next in command as acting Captain until they could rescue their actual Captain.
After Azure had taken his leave, Jin stood there in silence for a couple of minutes just trying to collect himself, as much as he might try to act tough, this was all still taking a toll on him too. Clenching his fists and gritting his teeth, he got lost in his own thoughts. 'God dammit old man...What were you thinking...' As he cursed his thoughts, the sudden sound of a familiar voice had caught him off guard. Lifting his gaze only to find Lindsey now standing before him and questioning him regarding their next step. Clearing his throat, he'd take a gander around the hallway before returning his attention back onto her. "You're right...it's going to take a whole lot more than some group of wannabe hunters to take gramps down...but, first things first, we need to get the Infinity back up and running. Not going to do us any good if she isn't even seaworthy let alone skyworthy. Can you go check up on the rest of the crew? See how everyone's doing, I'm kind of worried about Meris and Berhane, considering they weren't on deck during the crash landing and if they're in the medical bay or kitchen, that's a lot of sharp objects to be flying around during a crash." With the request given, Jin turned his head over his shoulder slightly before pointing toward the opposite end of the hall that would eventually lead down to the engine bay. "I'm going to go check on the engine's systems...make sure everything is still in working order and make sure the Eternum crystal hasn't burnt a hole through the ship yet." Attempting to joke on the matter at the thought of the ship having a giant hole in it because of the crystal overheating faster than the cooling systems could manage, part of Jin hoped and prayed that his joke wouldn't become reality.

Just as he turned on his heel to proceed to head down the rest of the hall, the sudden sound of yet another familiar voice coming up had Jin pause mid-walk only to turn his head back towards the other end of the hall that would lead to the upper deck once again, was that Emilio, well at least he sounded fine enough that he could be shouting the way he did. Though, rather than go to check up on him, Jin continued on his way down the hall. To reach the engine, he had no choice but to go pass the medical bay and kitchen, at least from here he could also check on Berhane and Meris if he happened to see them. Just as fate would have it, as he reached the next corridor, he just so happen to find Berhane and apparently someone else with them.

"Hey Berhane--..." Stopping mid-sentence, he tilted his head to one side just to take a gaze at the stranger that followed them. If they were a threat then surely B wasn't about to just be walking around casually the way they did. So, rather than go into a panic of any sorts regarding a new face and one that was unfamiliar, Jin simply pointed towards the individual. "So, who's the kid?..." His voice was neither showing signs of being upset nor light mannered but definitely stern as he crossed his arms over his chest waiting for the explanation. Either way, by the end of the conversation, Jin was more than sure enough that if it were the Captain's choice, he'd probably welcome her onboard with open arms and Jin would do so too, yet he still wanted to know what was going on that he had never seen the young female before.

Serina made some casual squeaky noises with her mouth as she stood near the edge of the woods, squatting down and writing in her journal after finding a small stream, enough to collect water from in case any of their reserves were damaged in the crash. She sketched a crude but readable map and notes, marking the location and looking up to scan what she could see in the woods. The place was untouched for some time, and the rich and healthy fauna and foliage contested that. Tapping on her journal with her pen Serina mingled with her thoughts. The first positive is that this island seemed uninhabited, so the resources here are up for grabs. Another positive was no civilization, meaning no chance of any brushes with the law or god forbid more bounty hunter nests. One of the downsides though, is no civilization, so if damages to the ship are more severe than they can handle, then they'd be on their own. She was confident Azure could fix it on his own if needed, but it would take time, and with their captain missing Serina knew most of the crew would be eager to go chase after him as soon as possible. A long sigh left her as she ruffled her blonde hair, slight frustration and exhaustion weighing on her. "God what a pain..." she muttered, pursing her lips as she finished marking the small stream's location in her book. As she rose from her squatting position she heard a voice call out from the ship. She turned and looked to see Levi, pointing toward the woods and telling her the ship's cook, Meris, was heading for the woods. Serina arched a brow but before she could call back Levi was already heading back. She sighed and hurried towards the location Levi pointed to. In no time Serina found Meris and jogged up to her before she could enter the woods.

"Hey, Meris hold up!" she called before coming to a stop near her, blocking her from entering the woods with a cheeky smile. "Where do ya think you're goin? Not the best time to gather ingredients. Or, maybe it is, haven't seen if the food storages were screwed in the crash. Wait... oh damn, hope my stash didn't get wrecked..." she trailed off for a moment before shaking her head. "Anyway, you shouldn't be running off in the woods right now, the situation is a bloody mess right now," she said, her hands on her hips, a frown coming to her face. "Captain missing, Sabrina ran off into the woods, Red is off chasing after her which, honestly is gonna be a headache, Azure is banged up after catching, yes, catching the bloody whole ship, ships buggered, obviously, and everyone is on the edge and stressed out their minds," she said in one breath, sighing as she ran a finger through her long blonde hair. "And now reliable lil old me gots to scout this place out. Lord knows what else is going on with the others on the ship," she said, shaking her head.

Berhane 'B' Le Roux
Doctor
Trust issues, how delightful were they. B could not - even if they tried their very best - deny their suspicions that it might be the very root of whatever โ€˜friendlyโ€™ relationship they were to build with this Kat. There was pity, to a certain extent. She was merely a child, scrambling around the same environment that had shaped Berhane into whatever it was that was left. Putting blame onto someone when they were painfully aware of it all, it would be hypocritical and nothing more than that. A conflict between having actual morals that were at the forefront of their mind and gripping at the emotionless nature of themselves was causing clear struggles at times, and this was not different. To seek equality was to admit the complexity of human nature and oneโ€™s status within the world itself. A racing mind and somewhat fuzzy field of vision was keeping B occupied enough, shifting a struggling gaze between the hallway they were walking and the person behind them. Cautious, they should have been, but Jinโ€™s presence startled them ever so slightly. It should be a good sign, right? He was on his feet, more of the crew should be on their feet then... Without much hesitation their eyes easily met up with Jinโ€™s. โ€˜โ€™Ah- Jin.โ€™โ€™ Bโ€™s arm stretched out to bring Kat to a halt as well, if there was a conscious attempt to make certain she was not going anywhere, then this was exactly it. โ€˜โ€™Just a a little friend whoโ€™s been roaming around the vents for the last few weeks. She tumbled into my med bay when the ship came down, explains some missing things, I think.โ€™โ€™ Their voice returned to the emotionless default, but there was that little voice in the back of their head that did not allow them to leave it at that. Morals, they should ban them entirely from oneโ€™s conscious. โ€˜โ€™I donโ€™t think sheโ€™s harmful, just seeking safety - canโ€™t entirely blame her for that. Though I consider small, kleptomaniac fingers only to be a decent trait when in my favour... she's just a kid.โ€™โ€™ Most of them sought refuge from one thing or another, and they should.. ugh, whatever. It was their best attempt at โ€˜putting in a good wordโ€™, and Kat better be thankful there wasnโ€™t anything else coming out of their mouth in an attempt to be considered a human being containing an actual heart.

Kat could feel the tension rising, a knot of anxiety tightening in her chest. The idea of meeting the crew weighed heavily on her mind. Back in the slums, there were few consequencesโ€”at least not ones that couldnโ€™t be avoided. She was solo, always. No need to impress anyone. Create, fix, sell, and throw in some occasional tomfoolery. Even when she pushed her luckโ€”ran her mouth too much to the wrong peopleโ€”she always had an out. Whether it was her gadgets or her quick thinking, she could escape.

But there was no escaping this.

She had to face the crew, face whatever consequences awaited her. There was no clever gadget or quick-witted excuse to fall back on. Sheโ€™d have to white-knuckle it, make the best of itโ€”if there was a best to make of it.

Trailing behind Berhane, Kat moved like a curious creature, her wide eyes scanning the mess around her. Everything was in disarrayโ€”furniture overturned, knickknacks scattered, chaos in every corner. Even on the crewโ€™s rowdiest nights, nothing compared to the destruction the crash had wrought. The fact that the ship was still standing was a miracle in itself. It couldnโ€™t just be the engineering or design; someone had to have worked some kind of miracle to pull off the impossible.

She paused, pulling out her notebook and flipping through its pages, mumbling to herself. โ€œHmmm, not Levina. Cool zappy zaps, but that wouldnโ€™t save a ship from crashingโ€ฆโ€ She scribbled a note. โ€œCould be Azure. Strong, but not that strong, right? Could they?โ€ She chewed on that thought for a moment before shaking it off. Her eyes flicked back up to follow Berhane when she stopped mid-sentence. โ€œIt definitely couldnโ€™t be Jiโ€”JIN!โ€ Before she could react, she walked straight into Bโ€™s arm, stumbling and dropping her notebook.

Her heart leapt into her throat as she scrambled to scoop it up, clutching it tightly to her chest. Her face had gone pale, her nerves threatening to consume her. She had seen Jin before, from a distance. He had a presence about himโ€”a cold air that made it hard to gauge his mood. And now, with his attention squarely on her, it was impossible to read him. The pressure of making a first impression hit her like a tidal wave.

First impressions, Kat. First impressions!

She took a deep breath, bracing herself as if for a bullet. โ€œH-hiya!โ€ she blurted out, her voice higher than she intended. โ€œThe nameโ€™s Kateryna, but you can just call me Kat. I may have been, uh, living in your vents andโ€ฆ maybe liberating some things here and there, but I swear it was all for a good cause! Also, this ship is amazing. Like, really, really amazing! The tech is incredibleโ€”I mean, I squealed when I saw the engineโ€”โ€ The words poured out in a rapid-fire stream, her voice brimming with energy, her breath running out as she went. Rambling was her go-to defense when pressured, though it rarely helped. This time was no exception.

Youโ€™re rambling again. Slow it down, Kat. Come on!

She let out a long sigh, her shoulders slumping as she released some of the tension. โ€œI, uhโ€ฆ I can fix things,โ€ she said, her voice softer now, more grounded, matching the gravity of the situation. Her mind turned to the crash, piecing together what sheโ€™d seen and heard before the chaos. โ€œI think the engine overloaded. Maybe a cooling issue? Or something got damagedโ€”a precision temperature controller, maybe?โ€ She paused, glancing down at her notebook. โ€œI could help fix it. The thrusters might need some work tooโ€ฆโ€ Her voice trailed off, realizing she was probably overexplaining again. She rubbed the back of her neck, trying to shrink into herself. She had already said too muchโ€”something she knew sheโ€™d probably do again.

Sabrina - maybe his new friend - came back as Shohei held his hands up, eyes glowing, sweat on his face and he looked over to the girl.

โ€œN-no! You canโ€™t fight the adults! Theyโ€™re scary - they have come here before,โ€
he started, rustling in the far-off distance, birds scattering and the brown-haired boy looked concerned, to say the least. That's about when the red-haired adult appeared once again, he knew her name and had weapons like the other adults that came just the other year. He gulped as he put his hands down and stood infront of Sabrina.

โ€œI-Iโ€™m not scared of you! Iโ€™m not letting adults destroy my home again!โ€
He shouted, tears in his glowing blue eyes from behind Red, the foliage began to rustle, birds and animals scattering as something busted out of the leaves - yet nothing was seen, only Shohei looking up and holding out a hand, his eyes glowing brighter, even the tips of his fingers gained a blue aura around them, as slowly, a gradient fading in, a ghostly large bear began to take form towering over even the red-haired adult then a loud and booming roar echoed through out the island.

His eyes stopped glowing and he collapsed to his hands and knees breathing heavily and began the same whisper-speech as before, the bear's large front paws thud to the ground, standing over the adult - Shohei's mouth moving fast and faster, causing him to scramble to his feet as he stopped talking.

โ€œHe won't listen to me -โ€
he whispered, grabbing Sabrinaโ€™s hand looked her, exhaustion across his sweating face as he began to back away, stumbling over his feet, unable to support his own body. He couldnโ€™t stop this. The spirit he summoned wasnโ€™t in his control, thought it wouldnโ€™t be for much longer, summoning spirits was the easier part, dismissing them was tricky, and at this point, he had to rely on the adult, and maybe, then he and Sabrina could run.

His hand went under many layers of clothing, grasping onto something as he reached out with his second hand, letting go of Sabrina, stretched out towards the adult, a green glow swirling around him then stretched his hands, a spiritual green root shooting out, connecting Shohei to the adult.

โ€œRoots of strength and leaves of light,
Restore their spirit, day and night.
Through boundless love, let vigor flow,
Renew their soul, let energy grow!โ€

A wave of energy shot through the root, and shattered into dust the moment the last word was spoken. Shohei collapsed, not quite passed out, but just on the verge, the red-hair adult a burst of energy spreading out across his body, reinvigorated with life - just as the large ghostly bear would try and swat at the man with its massive paws - its physical form already beginning to flicker - showing signs of Shoheiโ€™s energy - but it still posed a thread as it still summoned into the material plane.

As the boy shouted and his eyes began to glow blue once more, Red gritted his teeth and was a hair away from pulling the trigger, but he paused as he heard something behind him. He spun around, raising his revolver but finding no target. That was until a large being began to form to take form. Red's crimson eyes widened, his expression hardening as a massive, ghostly bear to shape, its size towering over him and reaching nearly as tall as the trees it seemed. He gritted his teeth as a booming roar escaped the ghostly beast, vibrating his ears from the ferocity. Red gripped his weapons together, his exhausted and sore body screaming in protest. There was little chance Red could fight this monster easily after becoming so drained. Just a smidge of his powers remained. Perhaps enough to grab Sabrina and run? No, he wouldn't get far before the beast ran them down. A distraction so she could escape. Even then, what's to say the beast wouldn't just hunt her down afterward? Red cursed under his breath. Staring up at the ghostly monster, his crimson eyes hardened in determination. There was no choice. Red had to defeat this monster, even if it cost him his life. He could hear the boy say something about losing control behind him, but his attention was placed on the towering ghostly opponent before him. Red aimed his revolver between the beast's eyes, a cold determination on his face, but before he could pull the trigger he felt something connected with his back. He snapped his gaze over his shoulder, a green root connecting him to the boy as he started to speak some sort of prayer. His eyes widened as the root shattered and dust filled the air. At that moment, time froze for Red, his gaze slowly returning to the ghostly bear as it swung its massive paw for him. In a split-second, Red felt his sore limbs, drained powers, and entire being spring to life, a shock of power coursing through him.

Just as the bear's paw was to make a connection, a cloud of crimson mist took Red's place, the bear's claws slashing through it. The crimson mist swirled and floated through the air, slipping through the bear's claws like smooth running water as Red was no longer there. The ghostly bear snarled, its frustration and confusion clear, but the sound of boots scraping on stone drew its attention, looking over to see Red standing atop a ruined pillar. Red tendrils of mist slithered up the mossy ruin, like the vines that ensnared the old stone. Red's eyes were closed, the blunt side of his sword against his forehead, as if he was giving a silent prayer as crimson smoke rose from his body. A heavy silence surrounded him, a cold air covering the air like a chilling blanket. Slowly Red's eyes opened, a newly invigorated glint shining in his crimson gaze. He met the beast's gaze, a new confidence shedding him of doubt. For a brief second his eyes flickered to the boy, a conflicting sense of gratefulness and wariness, but it would fade in a flash as the bear let out a rumbling growl. He would handle the boy later. For now... With a flick of his wrist, Red pointed the sword at the ghostly bear, a silent acceptance of the creature's challenge. The monster let out another earth-shaking roar before its massive form charged forward, swiping again at Red atop the pillar. With a slight jump off the pillar top Red faded into crimson mist once again as the bear's paw smashed away the pillar. The crimson mist slithered along the bear's forearm before Red returned to his normal form at the monster's elbow, his boots sliding against its ghostly appendage. Gritting his teeth Red lunged forward, slashing his blade along the bear's snout, the cut deep but not enough.

The beast roared and snarled, its head jerking back before its massive body snapped to the side, throwing Red off. Red rolled onto the ground with a heavy thud, using the momentum to roll onto his feet. Just as he slid to his feet the bear was already lunging forward, its paw coming downwards to smash him into the ruined stone path. Turning into his mist form again, Red burst forward just in time to avoid the paw, reforming into his solid body and slashing up at the bear's wrist. From the corner of his eye, he saw the bear's other paw swiping at him in an upward strike. Gritting his teeth Red raised his sword, feeling his body vibrate and brain rattle as the paw crashed into the flat side of his blade, sending him flying and bouncing off the stone path. Before he could bounce a second time he reformed into his mist form and shot back toward the beasts, once again solid and firing his revolver several times into the bear's side. The creature growled and swiped its whole arm at him, kicking up stone and dirt as its claws raked through the ground toward him. A grunt left him as a piece of broken stone hit him above his eye but with a growl, he turned to crimson mist and slipped under the swipe, reforming into his solid form and using the momentum to launch him forward, his boots sliding along the stone path and through the vines. With a spin, he slashed both the bear's hind legs, sliding under the beast and coming to a stop behind it, firing the last few rounds of his revolver into its back.

A furious roar left the beast, a savage snarl of rage and frustration leaving it, its form flickering before it turned and lunged for Red at surprising speeds. Before Red could turn into his mist form the bear's jaws were just inches from his torso. Red gritted his teeth and raised his sword just in time to come between him and the beast's sharp teeth, but the force of the bear's charge couldn't be stopped. The bear kept charging, its teeth clashing with his blade as he pushed Red back and slammed him into a ruined wall. A wheeze left Red, feeling the wind get knocked out of him as the bear slammed him against the wall. With a growl Red flipped his revolver in his hands and using the butt of his pistol as a hammer, slammed it into the monster's eye. Its head jerked slightly, but an enraged growl left it as it lurched forward again, slamming him through the ruined wall. A shout left him as he tumbled through the wall, falling back, dazed for a moment and feeling something strain in his back. On instinct alone he rolled to the side, just missing the snapping of the bear's jaws as its teeth crashed into the earth. With a wild slash Red cut along the side of the bear's neck, the creature tensing from the strike but quickly snapping its head toward him, trying to trap him in its jaws again. Red ducked and slashed upwards along his jaw, the both of them growling in the heat of the battle. Red tried to jump back, but a pained gasp left him as the creature's paw struck him in the side at lightning-fast speeds, sending him flying and slamming into a pile of mossy stones.

Red let out a shout, feeling a warm sensation run down the side of his body, but he didn't have time to inspect it, having to dive out of the way as the beast smashed its jaws into the pile of mossy stone. Red rolled to his feet, dropped his revolver, and gripped his sword with both hands before lunging forward. Just as the bear raised his head from the ground, stone, and dust fell from its jaws, Red's scream echoed out in the air as he plunged his blade into the beast's side. A massive roar echoed through the island as Red sunk his blade deep, a strained grunt leaving him as he pushed deeper, the bear's form flickering once again. The bear's massive form jerked and writhed, trying to throw Red off, smashing into old ruins and trees. Red however held firm, the debris and foliage smashing into his body as he pressed himself against the monster, a violent ride he was not about to relent on. The bear finally rolled over, trying to crush Red and throw him off. A shout left Red as he felt something in his left leg crack, but gritted his teeth and turned into his crimson mist form, shooting up in the air before he could fully be crushed. As the ghostly bear rolled back onto its stomach Red fell downwards, his sword clutched tightly in his gloved hands as he plunged it into its back. It roared again, its massive form flickering again as it rose onto its hind legs. Red's eyes widened as the creature fell backward. He barely managed to slide his sword from its ghostly flesh and dive off before the bear smashed into the stone ruins and trees, a loud crash shaking the earth and kicking up a large cloud of smoke and debris. Red fell to the earth, grunting as he rolled onto his hands and knees, panting breathlessly. He looked up, the bear's form hidden behind the large cloud of dust before its glowing eyes peered through it and locked onto him.

Red groaned in pain and rose to his feet, his sword scrapping against the stone and dirt before he took hold of it with both hands, bending his knees as he fell into a solid fighting stance. Slowly the bear's head slipped through the cloud, its teeth bear as it growled deeply, a look of hatred and savagery in its eyes as it slowly emerged, its body flickering again. Red took a slow breath, knowing he had to end this. He could feel the strain in his back, his body racked with bruises, cuts, and scratches, his left leg difficult to put pressure on, and the most concerning being the warm blood running down his side. A moment of silence hung over the air, cold and eerie. Finally, both lunged forward, the earth shaking under the bear's paws as it charged forward. Its jaws opened wide as it went to snap onto Red, but only found a Red cloud of mist. The Crimson mist snaked around its head and up its body, before Red reformed into his solid body, sinking his blade into the top of the bear's back. With a strained roar, Red used the momentum and dashed along the ghostly creature's back, his blade slicing through the spectral flesh before he reached the tail end. The bear roared, vibrating the air from the ferocity and pain. Red landed back on the ground, turning to face the bear as he watched it stumble forward, its massive form swaying. The bear's form flickered, its head turning to look at him. Red met its gaze, a cold yet respectful glint in his crimson eyes. The bear let out a final guttural growl before its form began to flicker more and more, soon fading as it fell.

Red stared silently at the spot where the once massive and powerful creature was, now gone and defeated. After a moment a heavy breath left him, falling to his knees and using his sword to keep him up. "Bloody damnation..." he muttered, exhausted and drained once more. He took a moment to clear his mind and catch his breath before looking down at himself. A tired scoff left him, his clothes and appearance worse than before he entered these damned woods. He even felt worse. "Typical..." he coughed before sighing and forcing himself up with a grunt, a limp in his left leg as he held onto his bloody side, now seeing claw marks in his coat and flesh. They were deep, but not enough to be lethal. At least not for now. Using his sword to help walk he looked around the area, the ruins and trees destroyed and smashed. "Sabrina!" he called, his voice hoarse.

With arms remaining crossed throughout the entirety of the explanation that Berhane had given about the newcomer, when they had stated that she had been in the vents for the past few weeks, Jin's jaw had nearly dropped in astonishment as to how no one had known she was aboard the ship until just now and only because they crashed. Would that have meant that if the ship hadn't taken a beating then the female would've stayed in the vents even longer, and what did Berhane mean about 'missing things', did she steal something of his as well, if so, it clearly wasn't something of high importance to Jin that he hadn't even noticed till the subject was just now brought up. As B continued and reassured Jin that she was not a danger and rather looking for safety, his arms uncrossed themselves as he lowered them to his sides before giving a slow nod as a response, there was no doubt about it, if Jin were to decline allowing her on the ship, gramps would've never forgiven him, someone who was just looking for a place they could call home for themselves would be the hope for anyone living out there on their own.

Though, rather than speak up regarding his decision immediately after Berhane's explanation, Jin would turn his attention fully over toward the female, before he could so much as even question her about her name, she immediately began to rattle on by introducing herself, where she had been living, her reasoning behind what she had taken from the crew and her intrigue on the ship. With how quickly she babbled, Jin's stern expression soon turned to a nervous smile as he raised both hands up to try and tell her to calm down and take a breath. "Alright, alright...it's fine-- relax, you're not in any trouble." Reassuring her as best as he could, Jin gave a low chuckle before she had taken a sigh only to begin providing him with her speciality on 'fixing things' and even explaining what seemed like she knew what possible damages could've been done to the ship during their escape from the bounty hunters.

"Oh? You seem to be quite knowledgeable on ships, if that's the case...you'll be a great addition to the crew. Emilio could use the help along with Azure." As Jin stated following a chuckle at the thought that Azure or Emilio would need help or advice from a newcomer how the ship should be handled, he was suddenly cut short from the rumbling and echoing sound of a distant roar. His smile immediately dropping to a frown as he turned his head in the direction of the bestial bellowing, if he wasn't mistaken, that was the direction where Sabrina had run off to and where Red had gone, while he did not voice his concern openly, Jin worried and prayed that Red and Sabrina were safe, afterall, they were still on an unknown island with all manners of possible predators out there.

As though he were ignoring the sound of the beast, once Jin had returned his gaze back upon Kat and Berhane, he'd proceed to give the two a nod of his head before excusing himself to try and make his way around them. "Well, welcome aboard Kat. Feel free to go meet the rest of the crew with B...and thanks for the heads up on the engine. I was going to go down and check on the status of that right about now anyway. Sorry we couldn't meet on better terms, with the whole...crashing and all that." With that all said, Jin continued down the rest of the hall before rounding the next corner that would lead him to the final ladder that would be able to lead him all the way down to the engine bay, though, just as he rounded the corner, he gave a slight pause remembering that since the Captain wasn't here, might as well give her the same words that gramps would've done for anyone that joined their 'family' and with that, he backed around the corner just to give the newcomer a wave with a friendly smile before speaking one last time. "Oh, and...welcome home."

Eyes to the sky, watching the clouds pass. Azure lay on the deck, hearing footsteps go by as he closed his eyes, wondering what he was going to do. He felt fine enough but knew he lacked the actually skills to fix the ship - properly. Just like his โ€˜formal educationโ€™ he wasnโ€™t really taught anything, not expected at least outside of training to help him with his strength. Sure, Azure knew his way around tools and minor fixes, like the railing, a patch here or there, but who knows what other damage he caused the rest of the ship. Something to have Emilio look over.

A loud roar from the forest, which made sense but did seem unusually loud, followed up with a very loud grumble from his stomach in response. That too made sense. He wouldnโ€™t have eaten in a while and by this point would have had one too many snacks but, he was a hungry person, always has been. Gramps always suspected it was due to his enhanced strength and not being able to fully control it - just one of those abilities.

A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he pushed himself up with his arms, rolling onto his knees, then stranding upright, his stomach grumbling loudly at him once again and Azure rolled his eyes, at himself.

โ€œRight right, food timeโ€ฆI think she wouldnโ€™t mind if I justโ€ฆโ€
Azure's voice trailed off as he looked in the direction he believed Meris went in then towards the kitchen. Azure was a known walking machine of destruction. Usually not by choice but it was what he was best at somehow. Pots of water were set on fire, food both burnt and undercooked, the kitchen was not a friend of his despite his desperate need for food. However, he needed something so, towards the kitchen he went.

With his stomach growling at him, demanding to be fed, Azure went down from the deck and straight into the kitchen, looking around at the disarray he caused and completely missed chasing after Jin. The first order of business was to try and see if there was something that DIDNโ€™T require cooking and began opening up cabinets, watching different items fall out, really only making a bigger mess, leading to where Azure was at now.

Picking up different pots and pans and random items, Azure was holding various items in his hands, stacking the pile higher and higher, realizing he didnโ€™t know where to put this. Yet, as always, chaos was going to follow him into the kitchen, forgetting to close an upper cabinet door, Azure stood up, slamming his head into the captain and everything in his hands (which was a lot of things) immediately clattered to the ground loudly, Azure hunch over and holding his head his hands.

โ€œOW FUCK-FUCKING SHIT-โ€œ
He shouted as his stomach continued to growl, and he slowly sunk to the floor, head still in his hands, and laying in a pile of a larger mess than what was already there, and many doors, drawers, and cabinets now open.

92dc704f58afa8008973146cac856a94.jpgLindsey watched a Jin headed on his way and then looked in the other direction and started to make her way to the deck though after a few minutes she stopped walking and thought for a moment. She hadn't checked her room since the crash. It would be a good idea to look at her room and see how much damage there was. Lindsey turned around and headed towards her room. Once she made it in front of her door and opened it her room was just as she expected, trashed. "Damnit." Lindsey ran her hand through her hair and sighed. "Ahhh damnit! This is going to be such a pain! I had everything organized too. It's bad enough I was somehow losing stuff." Lindsey walked into the room and saw tools, weapons, plans, and all her things thrown everywhere. Some of her stuff was even broken and torn. She took a deep breath to calm herself and looked around her room to see if she could find her pad. Once she did she pulled up some music, sat it on her desk, and started blasting it. "Alright!" She yelled out determined. "Time to clean up!" Lindsey shut the door to her room and started working to fix up the mess.

8fb96c09d455f632a6c7ee5c5eb19894.jpgSabrina squinted at Shohei's comment. "Adults?" Suddenly realization hit Sabrina and her eyes widened a little. Now that she had thought about it. There didn't seem to be anyone else here. Was he really the only one here? Did he not like all adults? "Wait Shohei-" Sabrina was suddenly cut off by the rustling and birds scattering. She watched the direction the noises came from and suddenly emerged the scary red-haired man that was chasing them. Sabrina took a good look at him for the first time and suddenly realization hit. "Red?"

"Sabrina, come here. Now,"

Sabrina shrunk behind Shohei. She was going to be in so much trouble. But it wasn't her fault that he was all scary-looking and chasing her. Oh, but that didn't matter cause she knew he was going to punish her big time. She could see it in his eyes. 'He's totally going to kill me.' Sabrina thought to herself in a panic. 'If he doesn't kill me he'll spank me, or even worse give me extra homework.' Sabrina stood there continuing to think all of the horrible things he was going to do to her when got her. Suddenly Sabrina was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard Red give a threat to Shohei. Sabrina realized she had to say something before Red actually hurt Shohei. Sabrina took a step forward and was about to say something but before she could Shohei stood in front of Sabrina.

โ€œI-Iโ€™m not scared of you! Iโ€™m not letting adults destroy my home again!โ€

"Shohei..." Sabrina's attention went to the sound of the rustling and the birds and animals scattering. Suddenly something came out of the leaves but...it was invisible? For a moment nothing was there but slowly a ghostly large bear began to take form towering over Red and then the bear made a loud booming roar that echoed throughout the island. Shohei suddenly collapsed onto his hands and knees and then quickly scrambled back to his feet. He seemed to be trying to control the bear but Shohei said it wouldn't listen to him. Shohei grabbed Sabrina's hand and looked at her. She looked exhausted she was honestly worried he was going to pass out. Sabrina wasn't quite sure what she could do. Honestly with Red here she was pretty positive they would be ok. Especially since he was really mad. Before Sabrina could say anything she noticed Shohei had let go of her hand and was now starting another spell. She looked in Red's direction who seemed to have become more energized. Shohei then collapsed again and Sabrina got on her knees next to him. "Shohei?! Are you ok??" Sabrina looked at Shohei and began to feel really guilty. Was this her fault? Sabrina stayed by Shohei and watched the fight between the bear and Red. During the fight one of the trees that the bear smashed into started to fall in the direction of her and Shohei. Sabrina's eyes widened and her body moved practically on instinct as she quickly stood up and held out her hands and a forcefield surrounded Sabrina and Shohei stopping the tree from hitting them. The tree knocked against the forcefield and then fell onto the ground next to them. Sabrina stood there still holding the forcefield up slightly freaked out she then put her hands down but the forcefield disappeared and Sabrina sat down on the ground. "Man that was close..." Sabrina then looked back over to Shohei and crawled over to him. "See told you I could help?" Sabrina said smiling she then looked back over to Red watching the fight. "I'll keep it up until the fight is over."

Once the fight finally ended Sabrina was feeling a bit drained she let the forcefield down and Sabrina fell backwards on her back. She then heard Red call out to her hoarsely and Sabrina slowly sat up and looked around until she spotted Red. Sabrina stood up and started to run over to him but stopped. She looked back at Shohei and then walked back over to him and then bent down next to him. Sabrina blushed slightly feeling guilty about the whole situation "Shohei? Listen I......I actually know him. I didn't recognize him at first because he was really scary looking and was chasing me but....he's not a bad adult....and you're really tired and maybe even hurt so....I'm going to have Red take you with us back to the ship. But don't worry all the adults there are really nice! So yeah......" Sabrina stopped talking and looked over in Red's direction and then back at Shohei. "I'll be right back." Sabrina stood up and ran over to Red who was looking pretty bad, worse than before actually. Sabrina slowed down and walked slowly up to Red. She looked up at him and then down at the ground. "Sorry Red....I didn't know it was you...but," Sabrina reached up and grabbed his free hand with both of hers. "But you gotta help Shohei and take him back with us," Sabrina said as she pulled on his hand a little bit.

He knew he was unlikely to control such a large creature, but he also didnโ€™t expect it to be so large. He knew long ago larger-than-life creatures did exist on this island, but for him to call out to one was definitely rare; his cries were that desperate.

Breathing heavily as Red began to fight he looked up to Sabrina and back to the red-haired man fighting and tried to roll onto his hands and knees tears in his eyes as he felt the soreness and exhausting his his day, his blue eyes growing dull as he was at his own limit. The sudden snapping of a tree caught his attention, his eyes darting over, hand gripping a leaf amulet around his neck, unsure if he even knew of a spell or had the ability to help. However before he could move he saw the glimmer as a field of protection formed around them and his eyes followed the outstretched hand over to Sabrina, knowing many who had similar powers once before, the relic he held in secret known for protection.

It must be as the tree destined, she is gifted to protect,
he thought.

"See told you I could help?"

She smiled as he stared at her with dull eyes.

"I'll keep it up until the fight is over."

A simple nod as the fight was over rather quickly, Shohei barely able to get to his hands and feet, trembling slightly thinking, this was it for him. He wouldnโ€™t be able to protect it at all and was quick to fall back to his side. He was tired, he needed rest.

"Shohei? Listen I......I actually know him. I didn't recognize him at first because he was really scary looking and was chasing me but....he's not a bad adult....and you're really tired and maybe even hurt so....I'm going to have Red take you with us back to the ship. But don't worry all the adults there are really nice! So yeah......"

Fear - she knew him. She was with him. The red-hard male and his head snapped towards Sabrina and looked to read, more tears in his eyes as he pushed himself to his feet.

โ€œW-wait! No please-โ€œ
he started to say but the girl had already left towards the male, and he was still hurt. He couldnโ€™t do anything more to help him. Using the relic twice was too much for him, onto of the summon spirits yet - he still had to fight, or run, just like before and it didnโ€™t take long before tears were streaming down his face, silently as he stared at the two talking.

โ€œI canโ€™t leave here, I must protect--!โ€œ
he started before exhaustion won, and his eyes fluttered closed and Shohei collapsed to the ground, passing out finally, and even in doing so, his arms wrapped around his chest, holding onto something tightly out of instinct. Even as he fell and hit the ground, he still held on tightly with the last bit of strength his body had in that moment.

World tree- keep me safe, please, Iโ€™ll keep protecting it so long as I live.

Alright.. slight detour... but worth it. Lindsey likely found Azure right away anyways. He wasn't in his room so I must of missed them above somewhere. Ah well I needed to change anyways.

Levina stepped out from her room stretching herself out. This time sporting her normal outfit. Somehow it was more revealing then her casual wear, albiet fitted with white furr almost seeming to live up to wanting to come off as some sort of barbarian from some fantasy pen and paper game although with more modern clothing accompanying it. It was comfortable to her and more so fit the image of what she wanted to come off as. The young woman stretching out more letting out a light yawn as if she had just got up again despite the fact she had been up at this point for a while now.

In some ways it was almost like she was putting on a more tough guy persona the way she acted. Not that Levina wasn't being herself, though being a bit of a tomboy and perhaps almost as a defensive mechanism she did have a tendency to act tougher and more bold around others. A way to hide some of her own insecurities and what she viewed to be her own weaknesses. She didn't want to fail anyone she cared about ever again. She already felt uneasy after what had happened with Azure earlier, that very thought creeping in the back of her head though she shook it away from her mind not letting herself get dragged down by such thoughts.

"Oh, and...welcome home."

Her head glanced over staring at Jinn as the words reached her ears rather late as he seemed set to head down. Her head tilting to the side puzzled.

Why would he tell her welcome home? Her head turned glancing over noticing the Doctor and... and.... wait who was that?

"Wait you!"

Levina spoke sharply pointing as she approached looking at Kat. Her eyes sternly fixated on the girl. Her eyes appeared sharp, clearly not having recognized the girl. Her eyes lingered on her suspiciously being more defensive then normal given what happened earlier. As she pointed looking at the girl her nose twitched. The smell lingered in the air as her sensative nose picked it up. It was... wait... familiar? Was the girl part of the crew? She had to of been there for a while, yet she couldn't recall seeing her. How could she of missed that? The very thought made Levina's cheeks redden a bit in embarrassment looking at the girl.

"It's... YOU! I... you um.... where have you been? The whole ship crashing and stuff and you would of been helpful... and stuff with... what you do here! Yeah!" She spoke with a nod as if speaking knowing exactly what she was talking about. She didn't want to get caught not knowing a crewmember that must of been here the whole time. She was almost certain she had picked up her scent for some time. It had confused her a little bit but standing before her with her nose being closer she could only recognize it that much more evidently.

"N... no that... we spoke much and all... but you um... yeah!" She spoke with a nod attempting to act confident. What Jinn had said hadn't quite registered in her mind that it had been directed to Kat. Her eyes shifted over to the Doctor, almost her way of escaping her own embarrassment. She didn't want to come off clueless and staring at Kat not having recognized the woman despite thinking she had been on the ship as an actual crewmember was already making her more flustered just looking at her.

"Hey Doc, have you seen Azure? He... um... well I'm trying to find him and well if he hadn't seen you yet, I think it might be good that he gets checked out. He got hurt when stopping the ship earlier. I'm trying to find him."

A grunt left Red as he limped through the ruined area, his left leg throbbing. Something was wrong with it. Broken? Dislocated? Whatever the case, it hurt like hell to walk on. Along with his leg, his back felt out of place, his side warm with blood, his limbs sore, and a trickle of blood down the left side of his face, a cut above his eye. He clicked his tongue in annoyance, stepping over a fallen tree. The area was a wreck, with old, ruined walls, stoned roads scattered and broken, and trees shattered and uprooted. That... thing was one hell of an opponent. It had been some time since he fought such a creature. Red stumbled, his foot sliding off a broken chunk of mossy stone. "Damnable place..." he muttered, wincing as his leg throbbed again. Soon though his attention was grabbed as he saw Sabrina running his way. A sigh of relief left him. Relieved that he could finish his goal and... oddly relieved that she was safe. His hardened gaze softened for a moment, watching her approach. Thoughts momentarily drifted to the lessons he would teach her, helping her with her studies, and the lectures. A frown came to his face, confused for a moment before he returned to his hard expression, stopping as she walked up to him. He listened quietly as she apologized before taking his hand with both her smaller hands, begging to take the boy, apparently named Shohei, back to the ship for help.

Red looked up, seeing the unconscious boy in the distance. A heavy frown came to his face. Not only has the boy been a nuisance, but he was the one who summoned that monster. A small breath left him though, remembering how he also used his powers to revitalize him. If he had done that, chances are that monster would have taken Red's life. Red held his bleeding side, conflicted. He looked down at Sabrina as she pulled his hand and sighed, following her. "Very well, but when we return to the ship you better expect punishment for your reckless behavior," he said, limping behind her as she pulled him to Shohei. As he reached the boy he winced as he knelt down, checking the boy's pulse. Alive. Good, he had some questions to answer. With a grunt and wince, he picked Shohei up and slung him over his shoulder. Even if it was just a child, his sore body protested in carrying him. Red ignored it though, taking Sabrina's hand and beginning to limp back in the direction of the ship.

It took some time, limping through the woods, the unconscious boy on his shoulder and Sabrina's hand in Red's. Eventually, he saw the edge of the woods, his throbbing in his leg worsening. As he grew closer he saw two figures. One of those figures turned around and he instantly recognized Serina. A low sigh escaped him as he limped closer. Serina's eyes widen as she sees Red, dirty, beaten, and bloody while carrying a child and holding Sabrina's hand. "Bloody hell Red!" she exclaimed as he approached. Red grunted, stopping in front of Serina and looking over her shoulder to see Meris. He gave them both a nod, breathing heavily, his exhaustion from his wounds and drained energy clear.

"Serina, Meris..." he muttered, letting go of Sabrina's hand, lifting Shohei off his shoulder, and handing him to Serina, who took him in her arms. As she held the unconscious boy in her arms she looked at Red's appearance, seeing him barely put pressure on his left leg, slouched over, bleeding from his side and the left side of his head. She shook her head.

"What happened?" she questioned, adjusting the boy in her arms. Red pointed to said boy, making her arch a brow.

"I'll explain later. For now, I require medical aid. And a shower," he muttered, leaning on a tree. "Perhaps a shoulder to lean on as well..."

Berhane 'B' Le Roux
they/them doctor
More often than not B cursed themselves for the recklessness throughout their youth and the physical trauma that it had caused, leaving them with both the ability and inability to be in pain at all times. Perhaps it was a blessing to have a lack of feeling in their shoulder when the form of Kat walked right into the arm that was supposed to shield her from Jin in just a small amount. Lips tightened together for just a moment and a slow breath released through their nose. They could not truly be upset - they were not whatsoever - but B really did prefer to move along. And right at that moment the rambling began. From Bโ€™s side there was a simple silence emanating, leaving Kat to talk for herself while they folded their arms in front of their chest; not bothering to jump in to soften the rambling in any form. A social battery like Berhaneโ€™s wasnโ€™t made to deal with such things. Besides, they had stuck to their promise to put in a good word for Kat, and that was all they had promised to do anyway. There was no reason to step into the conversation between these two. The noise of what sounded like a roar filled their ears, forcefully pushing B from their self-centred thoughts for just a moment. Eyebrows furrowed in response, realising they had no idea where they had landed at this point. They were still to step outside of this ship to actually see where they were, but just judging from the noises outsideโ€ฆ safe was not the word they would choose. A matter for later, surely. "Oh, andโ€ฆ welcome home.โ€™โ€™ As far as their social aspect would allow them, B looked back towards Kat. "There you go, it seems-" their words stopped before they could finish their words and their gaze moved to find Levina heading their way. Another rambling of words and Berhane struggled to hide flickers of amusement behind their emotionless eyes. Few things were more entertaining than two anxious, rambling people. Until attention shifted their way and they had to focus. "I havenโ€™t seen him yet," B replied with the simple shaking of their head. "Yโ€™all really should get into the habit of making your way towards the med bay when youโ€™re hurt. Iโ€™m starting to think itโ€™s just there as some kind of decoration.โ€™โ€™ Judgemental seemed to be their second name today, although there as somewhat of a softer edge that did show that they meant well this time. Treating people that were hurt, worrying about the crew when they were in a situation like this one, B stood ready in such cases. "If you wouldnโ€™t mind, Iโ€™ll come and join you to try and find him. I do not doubt there are more that need medical help, but one step at a time.โ€™โ€™ Their eyes shifted towards Kat, raising just one of their eyebrows as their good eye focused very intentionally on her. "Are you coming too? Or do you prefer the engine right now?โ€

Meris turned at her name being called out from behind her. In no time, the known face of Serina materialized before her. A gentle smile pursed her lips at the sight.

โ€œI was just taking a look around,โ€ the cook admitted. Quite frankly, she ought to avoid mentioning her throbbing head and her quite unpleasant awakening just moments ago. She wouldnโ€™t want her to think of her as a weakling.

All her worries washed off her shores as soon as Serina dropped the boulder. Captain missing, two of them vanishedโ€ฆ A wrecked ship?! Meris covered her mouth with her hand. The shock sat deep enough to silence even her gasp.

โ€œCaptain is what again?โ€ She inquired. Panic tried to breach through her mind, to take over and spin her into a frenzy. The others- and Azure too! Were they hurt? Meris steeled herself. The wolf of her own fear crowded out by her overwhelming need to check if everyone was at least breathing. Her gaze fell over her shoulder back to the ship.

Wrecked, damaged- unable to fly them to their captain. Where- โ€œWhat happened?โ€ she managed as she turned back to Serina. โ€œAnd are you- Are you feeling alright? Have you been checked out yet?โ€ A look at the young woman was all Meris needed. She seemed rather bothered by all of this than worried. Perhaps it was for the best then?

Meris forced herself to take a deep breath. Her mother used to say life had a funny way of complicating things. And yet it never did such without offering a solution. Theyโ€™d get back on their feet, of such Meris had to be sure.
Instead of focusing on the chaos in her heart, she listened to the forest around them. The trees, the plants- their roots running deep in the soil. A living beat under her bare feet. It fluctuated for just a minimal heartbeat. But Serina had already found the reason why before Meris could even speculate.

The flash of red hair emerging from the forest had her relieved. Red- She couldnโ€™t move. Frozen in place, she watched an injured crewmate of hers hand over a strange child. Did one of themโ€ฆ How long had she been out for?

The cook snapped back to her senses as he leaned onto the tree, Sabrina stationed near him. At last he had retrieved their little crewmate. But what had it cost him?

โ€œYou okay?โ€ she asked the kid quickly before turning to the one with visible injuries. โ€œHere, you can lean on me.โ€ Meris positioned herself to, what she supposed, was a good support for him.

As soon as she could feel his weight, green veins spread across the arm she had around him. Such she usually used as whips, now helped her to hold him up. A glance strayed far to the child in Serinaโ€™s hands. He, too, needed help and by the looks of it perhaps some food? After all, he surely was still growing!

โ€œUhm, well, any meal wishes? Something nutritious of course, or else you wonโ€™t get back on your legs,โ€ she said quickly, her mind already spinning. What if Serina was right and the stash had been damaged? She scowled on the inside. It would quite be a pain- not for the vegetables of course, she always grew her own. However, what good had vegetables without any meat?

But first, someone needed dire medical attention.

Heโ€™s not mad? Did he say welcome aboard? Kat stood frozen, her mind racing. The stealing alone was bad enough, but hiding on the ship for as long as she had? Sheโ€™d expected some kind of scoldingโ€”especially from him. Yet there she was, bracing for a storm that never came.

As Jin walked away with the parting words, โ€œWelcome home,โ€ Kat turned to B, her wide eyes shimmering with the beginnings of tears. A surge of emotions welled up inside herโ€”relief, disbelief, something she couldnโ€™t quite nameโ€”but before she could process it, the moment was interrupted by the sudden arrival of Levina.

โ€œI-uh, waitโ€”โ€ Kat stammered, caught off guard by the barrage of questions and statements. She scrambled to flip through her notebook. โ€œLevinaโ€ฆ oh yes! Your senses. How did I not think of that?โ€ She quickly jotted something down before snapping the notebook shut.

Figuring it was best to play along and avoid too many questions, Kat waved her arm in a dismissive, almost disarming gesture. โ€œPfft, ya know, ship crash and all. I was thrownโ€”quite literallyโ€”into the med bay,โ€ she said quickly, trying to downplay the situation. โ€œI should probably help with the ship, though. Whatever that roar was, I donโ€™t know if lilโ€™ olโ€™ me will be much use there, but the engine? Thatโ€™s another story.โ€

The dust-covered girl glanced up at Berhane, her expression softening. She mouthed a silent thank you before turning her attention back to Levina.

It had been a long time since anyone had shown her even a sliver of kindness. Back in the slums, even the people who relied on her work always carried a hint of resentment. Thatโ€™s just how it was down thereโ€”desperation bred betrayal, and Katโ€™s story was no exception. But here, in this moment, something felt different. For the first time in a long while, she let herself believe things might actually get better.

They will get better, she thought. Hopefully.

Kat straightened up and gave a quick nod to both of them, her confidence returning. โ€œWith my help, this pretty ship should be flying in no time.โ€ She added a playful wink before darting off, a streak of energy in her step.

Skidding to a stop behind Jin as he made his way toward the engine, Kat called out, โ€œLet me help! I donโ€™t think Iโ€™ll be much use with whateverโ€™s going on outside, but in there? Cakewalk.โ€ She gave him a grin, hoping she was right about that last part.

After taking his leave meeting the new crewmate with Berhane, Jin proceeded to continue to his way toward the engine bay, he still had to go pass the crew's quarters before he actually would reach the main engine compartment. Even if Jin wasn't too experienced with the ins and outs about the engine, surely after a crash like that, if there was anything wrong with the engine, it would most likely be obvious and any broken pipes or anything loose would at least be something he could easily help with until they either got Emilio to take a look at it or if they could get the ship to a nearby port where further repairs could be done.
Just as he reached the crew's quarters corridor, the sound of footsteps pacing up behind him followed by a voice calling out to him had Jin pause before turning his gaze to the source of the voice that had been behind him, it had been the new crewmate; Kateryna. She had been offering to help with the repairs to the engine, and so soon after just been officially accepted on the crew, surely Jin would've expected that maybe her meeting the rest of the crew would've been more something she'd prefer but if her knowledge about the engine was as vast as she seemed to boast about, then maybe the two of them could get the ship at least running and sailing.

"Alright, sure. Thanks for the help, now, lets go see what the damage is." With that said, Jin once more continued on his way to the lowest deck of the ship. As he drew closer to the engine bay, the smell of chemicals soon began to become very apparent as he soon pulled the collar of his shirt up to cover his nose. His feline ears lowered at the intense smell as it only grew stronger as he finally approached the engine room. "By the roots, that smell is horrendous..." Whispering under his breath, the moment Jin opened the door to the engine room the sight of multiple coolant pipes being either severely bent or leaking cold chemical water on the floor had him exhale a heavy sigh. It appeared as though the coolant side of the Eternum Crystal was damaged, however, the opposite side which normally expelled the super-heated chemical water was still intact luckily. The crystal itself also seemed undamaged so that was probably the most concerning aspect that Jin had the entirety of the time he was on his way down to the engine bay.

"So...any clue what to do about this?" As Jin questioned aloud toward Kat, his gaze was glued onto the damage to the piping and the amount of leaking chemical water, since the engine was off they didn't have to worry about the flow of water rushing out or the possible loss of all the water that was meant to keep the crystal cooled down but the idea of turning on the engine and moving the ship at all was definitely not an option any longer until they could figure out what to do with their current conditions. All the while, in front of the crystal itself was a monitor that had multiple red flashing lights regarding damage warnings on the leakage of coolant as well as the balancing of cold and hot being completely out of synchronization. It was clear enough that Jin would've been completely out of his element if he were to have come down here on his own.

โ€‹
โ€œPfft, ya know, ship crash and all. I was thrownโ€”quite literallyโ€”into the med bay,โ€

Levina stared sharply at Kat looking as intensely as she could. Her attempt to put on the very same bit of ruse in her own questioning. How the heck didn't she know this girl? It was embarrassing she wouldn't of. She didn't realize right? If she was called out for not knowing who she was it would of been the end for Levina, at least figuratively. She wasn't even sure what sort of excuse she could come up with if she tried to call her on it.

โ€œI should probably help with the ship, though. Whatever that roar was, I donโ€™t know if lilโ€™ olโ€™ me will be much use there, but the engine? Thatโ€™s another story.โ€

Luckily for her it seemed Kat didn't realize she had 'forgot' who she was. A bit of a relief for a Levina who in her own anxiousness couldn't at all remotely notice Kat being very equally much feeling the same. Her excuse making the fiery woman look on nodding lightly as if listening though keeping a somewhat stern look almost as if to ensure she wasn't going to just 'let it go' while clearly doing just that. She very much was attempting to be a bit evasive towards Kat just as much as the girl was being to her even if she didn't recognize that.

"I well... .yeah... okay... that's... this time that's fine but you better be more... um... WELL! Just yeah! You do that! So long as you know that you coulda done more and you can then you do just that!" She spoke with a nod as if to play herself up as if having been an officer disciplining and officer and having let them off the hook easily with a warning. Her head turning away as if a bit cold, though only for a moment. She watched her seeming to catch onto the fact she was going to help biting her lip. A bit of guilt filling her.

"Ah... glad you are okay, be um... safe... I'm sure there is somethin' you can help with!" She spoke a little more loudly towards Kat despite her being near. The girl's posture almost immediately shifting to being relaxed for a brief second before turning immediately back to Berhane quick to put up her strong facade again nodding.

"I havenโ€™t seen him yet, Yโ€™all really should get into the habit of making your way towards the med bay when youโ€™re hurt. Iโ€™m starting to think itโ€™s just there as some kind of decoration.โ€™โ€™

"Ahem... I see. I'll have you know I...." She spoke blinking as she blushed lightly turning her head a bit. Well, she did have her there. Levina was exactly the person who would do just that. As tough as she tried to be, she didn't do well with being treated. She could be skittish with certain things, not to mention the ideas of getting a shot were something she wished upon no one, not even the stupid cat.

"...um... anyways... uh... enough about that um..." She muttered more under her breath.

"If you wouldnโ€™t mind, Iโ€™ll come and join you to try and find him. I do not doubt there are more that need medical help, but one step at a time.โ€™โ€™

Levina felt some relief as the topic was shifted as she nodded her head. Her eyes catching sight of her looking to Kat turning her own head to glance at her.

"Are you coming too? Or do you prefer the engine right now?โ€

โ€œWith my help, this pretty ship should be flying in no time.โ€

"Ah well... good luck! Don't let that stupid cat get you down, ignore anything dumb he might say!" She spoke waving her hand at the girl as she went off to go after Jinn. She hadn't the faintest clue of her name or anything... slightly ironic given refering to Jinn she accidentally stumbled upon her nick name. She really needed to try and peep on her and figure out what her name was. How the heck did she not see her around sooner or know she was a crewmember? Were they pulling a prank on her this whole time?

She turned her attention back to the Doctor. Her eyes glancing at them gently tapping her chin. At this point she had no clue where Azure could be. He likely returned back to the Helm at some point but it had been a bit. Where would he be at this point. The attack had happened so suddenly and so early. Then the whole stopping the ship. He hadn't gone to get checked out... but there must be...

"Ah! Food! Well.. if not there probably the helm... or the deck... but kitchen first its closer!"

Levina began to dart up the steps, taking a second to pause as she took a few steps back. Her eyes glancing at the doctor noticing she had gotten a bit too excited. The wolf girl stepping back as she glanced to the side awkwardly waiting for Berhane to follow in step. It was a bit better not to go rushing about. Getting into the dinning area she peeked her head around. Her eyes glancing about finding Azure wasn't there. She tapped her chin a bit in thought.

"Oh yeah, Meris was outside... probably not cooking then... the kitchen?" She spoke more questioning it to herself getting slightly ahead of herself as she pushed open the door venturing into the kitchen. She walked inside glancing about looking more so up then down as she walked inside glancing about.

"Azz....?" She spoke shuffling through and rather cluelessly walking right past him on the floor somehow evading the mess of pots and other things on the floor as she peeked her head into the pantry to look in there. She could swear she caught faint whiff of him. Had he already been there and left?

"Azzzur?"

A pained grunt left Red as Meris came to his side, offering her shoulder for him to lean on. As her vines wrapped around him, securing him to her side Red relaxed a bit, relieved to put less pressure on his either broken or dislocated leg. He could feel the warm crimson blood drip down his side, glancing down to see his left side soaked in red. "Blasted..." he muttered, wincing as the wound throbbed and stung, the claw slash clearly seen through his shredded coat. He leaned more on Meris before looking at her as she requested a meal. An exhausted scoff left him, shaking his head, his long messy crimson hair hanging over his face. "Not exactly my first concern... but a risotto would be appreciated..." he muttered before taking a step forward with his good leg. "Now help me before I pass out from blood loss," he huffed, Meris walking by his side. Serina sighed, holding the unconscious boy in one arm and taking Sabrina's hand with her free hand.

"Again, what the hell happened?" she asked, following behind the two. Red gave another grunt as he limped along with Meris.

"Bear," he said simply, making Serina arch a brow.

"Bear?" she questioned, adjusting the boy in her arm.

"A quite massive one produced by the boy in your arms. Reached as tall as at least 3 to 4 stories," he clarified before wincing, a misstep making him put pressure on his injured leg. Serina's eyes widen, glancing at the boy with confusion and weariness. She let out a slow breath before looking down at Sabrina with a slight frown.

"And you, miss Sabrina, are in trouble. You should know better than to run off like that alone," she said sternly, gently squeezing her hand as she walked with her.

"Apparently not. I believe that says something about my skills as her teacher," Red muttered before wincing as they reached the ship. The climb up was agonizing for Red, his injured leg hitting the side of the ship, but it could have been worse if not with the help of Meris. Serina carried both children up as she climbed with ease, the boy in her arms and Sabrina on her back. As Meris returned to his side and gave her shoulder again, he took a slow breath, the wind brushing along his face to give a mere moment of relief to have returned before the throbbing in his body reminded him of his bad day.

"Come on, let's have B take a look at you. You're starting to look pale. Well, paler than usual," she said, concern laced in her voice and expression as she took in his ragged state. His breathing was steady but heavy, his bleeding side dripping onto the deck, his injured leg shaking only slightly, his form hunched over, and the bleeding cut above his eye still leaking. Together they made their way below deck, Serina letting go of Sabrina's hand to help Meris get Red down the steps, the boy secure in her arm. Once down the stairs, they began to pick up the pace, turning the corner before spotting Levina and B near the kitchen entrance. Serina waved with her free hand and called out, adjusting the unconscious boy. "B! Need help here! Red got mauled by a bear! And an unconscious boy!" she called out, noticing Red's slouched poster worsen as he leaned on Meris. "Like now!"

Berhane 'B' Le Roux
they/them doctor
Without trying to look too much like a scolding parent Berhane folded their arms in front of their chest and raised one of their eyebrows when looking at Levina. โ€˜โ€™No, please. Go on, argue with me, I beg of you. Let us see who wins that battle.โ€™โ€™ Lo and behold, their voice held amusement and jest in dripping amounts, making certain to refrain from their general voice. After that a quiet B allowed some space for Levina to think. Did they intentionally withhold themselves from mentioning that there was a reason she wouldnโ€™t recognise their new friend? Perhaps. Perhaps not - who truly knew after all? Navigator was a decent - more than decent - role for Bโ€™s conversation partner. Knowing the layout of the ship was one thing, but B very much preferred the comfort of their own medical bay. Not one of their steps compared to Levineโ€™s darting up the steps; Bโ€™s steps were more of the lazy kind, following the path of the navigator towards the kitchen. Moments before stepping into the kitchen after Levina, a voice filled the hallway and Bโ€™s gaze shifted into Serinaโ€™s direction. With furrowed eyebrows they allowed themselves only a moment to take in the sight. โ€˜โ€™This is what I meant when I said people should seek me out when hurt, first thing,โ€™โ€™ B muttered under their breath as they moved their head over their shoulder. โ€˜โ€™When you find Azure, get him to me as well.โ€™โ€™ It was mostly a yell over their shoulder while already being on their way towards the group - their eye already scanning over Redโ€™s slouched posture. โ€™โ€™I hear you, I hear you. Let me help you out, Meris.โ€™โ€™ Bโ€™s shoulder moved under Redโ€™s arm, trying their best to help out Meris with the weight of the suffering man. โ€˜โ€™If any of you can fill me in on what happened exactly, that would be helpful.โ€™โ€™ The med bay could have looked a lot worse than it did; though there was some clear damage here and there. Most sharp objects had been locked away during the tumultuous descent. โ€˜โ€™Get the boy into a bed. Meris, on the count of three, I need you up onto this bed, Red. One. Two. Three!โ€™โ€™ They helped him up onto the bed first. Step by step, they really did enjoy a little bit of stressful chaos here and there. Bโ€™s hip pressed open one of the doors to a cabinet while both hands tied their red curls into something that resembled a bun. B took out the necessary equipment and prepared themselves and most of the things they would need. There was no particular need for them to converse with the others for a little bit, instead they took in the damage while cleaning the skin. Smaller scratches would do just fine with a simple cleaning - these bigger injuries, howeverโ€ฆ he needed stitches, at the very least. Berhane settled down onto a chair, prepping what seemed to be a needle and thread. His leg was to be looked at after that. โ€˜โ€™This might be a good moment to tell me whether or not you wish for me to give you any painkillers or not. Your call.โ€™โ€™

Kat trailed behind Jin like a cautious shadow, her fingers twitching at her sides as anticipation coiled tight in her chest. Who knew what kind of mess theyโ€™d find in the engine room? Honestly, the engine itself didnโ€™t worry herโ€”not much, anyway. What really gnawed at her was the cat-eared manโ€™s opinion. The weight of proving herself useful pressed down on her, an unrelenting, self-imposed pressure to carve out her place among the crew. It nearly distracted her from the growing stench thickening in the air, the acrid scent making her nose wrinkle as they descended. Ideas crackled in her head like sparks off a faulty wire, troubleshooting the issue before she even laid eyes on it.

The moment they stepped into the engine room, her gaze darted across the space, scanning, dissecting, analyzing. Coolant pipes compromised. Leakage. Engineโ€™s offlineโ€”no critical losses. Her brain fired off assessments at lightning speed. Not bad enough to replace, but bad enough to demand immediate fixing.

She folded her arms, pacing, completely wrapped up in thought. So much so, she almost missed Jinโ€™s question entirely. The only thing that snapped her back was the sharp taste of her own gloveโ€”her index finger pressed lightly between her teeth, a grounding habit. She blinked, refocusing, just in time to catch the flashing red of the console. Temperature control compromised. Most likely shaken loose in the crash.

Kat exhaled hard, rolling her shoulders to shake off the tension, then planted her hands on her hips. Thisโ€”thisโ€”was the one thing she could be confident in, especially under his gaze.

โ€œItโ€™s pretty clearโ€”the coolant pipes took a hit, but itโ€™s not catastrophic. We didnโ€™t lose enough coolant to need a full replacement,โ€ she said, momentum building as she spoke. โ€œWe should be fine? Yeah, at least until the next pit stop. Y-yeah. Also, the precision temperature control is shot. The crash probably rattled her circuits out of alignment. I-uh, can fix it thoughโ€ Her attention snapped to the housed Eternum crystal, the heart of the engine. She let out a sympathetic sigh. โ€œPoor girl, rough day, huh?โ€ she murmured, as if the engine might respond.

With that, she dug into her tool belt, pulling out a wrench and a roll of duct tapeโ€”her ever-faithful first aid kit for mechanical mishaps. She strode to the damaged coolant pipes, crouching down to inspect them. As soon as she lifted one of the broken sections, coolant dribbled down her forearm, cold and slick. She grimaced but didnโ€™t flinch. Her gaze flicked up to the connectionsโ€”just out of reach. She bit her lip. Damn it.

A small, reluctant sigh left her as she turned back toward Jin, avoiding his eyes. โ€œโ€ฆC-could you grab me a ladder?โ€ she muttered, embarrassment curling around her words like smoke.

Laying on the floor of the kitchen, Azure swearing quieted down to mumble as he soon submitted to laying in the mess he had made and rolled onto his back and staring up at the open cabinet door that he hit, just thankful now it was still attached, or else he had more he had to fix than what he already needed to do. It was peaceful again for a moment before he started to hear the sounds of footsteps from the deck above and the deck below, and slowly, Azure slid across the floor slightly to see who it was.

The first group to come along was Red, Sernia, Sabrina, Meris, and an unknown boy, causing Azure to raise an eyebrow and wonder how they found (another) child. He propped himself up onto his arms, a little watching the first group make their way down to the infirmary, and soon, he heard his name.

"Azz....?"

"Azzzur?"

Azure quickly moved before Benign stepped on by Levina and quickly began to sit up, having forgotten about the cabinet door open once again. a loud thud and a crack could be heard from the pantry, and he grimaced again, leaning over a counter and holding his head again.

โ€œARGH stupid fucking cabinet-โ€
he said, this time now closing it after a few moments of putting his head down and standing up, looking at the now-damaged cabinet door.
โ€œMeris is going to be sooo mad at mee!!โ€ he whispered and decided, for now, that would be a future Azure problem.

A hand still resting on his head the tall man followed Levina to the pantry and poked his head inside.

โ€œLev? Hey!โ€
He said loudly, and unlike before, a forced but large smile appeared on his face as he then moved his whole body into the doorway.

โ€œUh..sorry about the mess, I was trying to help Meris clean it up butโ€ฆI hit my head but - Iโ€™m TOTALLY okay thought, just a bump.โ€

She could very faintly hear the commotion as her head peeked in to the pantry to glance around. What as said didn't really reach her ears as great as they could be. Mostly due to her being distracted peeking about. Despite it, the voice of the doctor was clearly heard. As she pulled back to look at them, only to see the they were already heading off, her eyes fixating on it oblivious to what was going on in the kitchen standing just inside the pantry

โ€œWhen you find Azure, get him to me as well.โ€

"ALRIGHT!" She shouted out. Her voice loud in response. A quick one at that. She wanted to coat her words in more complaints, but both the fact Berhane had already wandered off and the fact she had a little lingering fear recalling her stern voice before making her a little more skittish about tempting fate. How did she know she tried to get away with being hurt before and hiding it? She was very good at hiding things! At least as far as Levina considered herself to be she was. She wasn't really as great as she made herself out to be at keeping secrets.

Such a distracting thought left her oblivious to Azure. The noises she assumed were related to why Berhane left had all been Azure moving around. His voice having slipped past her notice in her sheer distraction worrying about the doctor. As she stopped to see Azure's tall frame towering over her, his gentle voice reaching her ears, it would of been expected she would of been relieved. Instead.

"AAAAAAH!"

Levina cried out in fright. Her wolf ears perked up as the hairs on her head and tail almost seemed to have spiked up as if she was some stupid familiar scaredy cat-boy. The girl stumbled back nearly bumping back into supplies herself making her own mess. Her heart racing as she looked on a bit taken back. Her eyes lingering at Azure. Then came the bright embarrassed glow on her cheeks realizing what had happened.

"You... you idiot! I... you I mean we are... you need to be looked at and... you scared m.... I mean..." She murmored being completely thrown off. She pressed her hands to her face as if to hide her expression a bit. A sudden shake of her head being given almost as a way of jolting herself back.

"Ahem.... I... I mean ah there you are! Thank goodness, you really need to get checked on by the Doc. It's important you make sure you are in good health, I know you are worried about stuff, but it's important that you look after your own health too okay? And... wait... what with the Kitchen?"

Levi glanced at Azure nudging her head lightly as if to usher him to move to the side a little. Her head peeked into the kitchen glancing inside to see the mess inside. Her eyes lingering at it wincing a bit. Nope... a clear sign to get out of there. The last thing she wanted was to get entangled with being part of the mess. More importantly she felt Azure shouldn't be stuck dealing with cleanup duty... at least not until he got checked out.

And....

"Wait... is that cabinet dented?" She spoke leaning over more seeming a bit shocked. The wolf girl shaking her head pulling back. She leaned up standing on her tippy toes pressing her finger against Azure's lips. A little gesture for him to not speak about it.

"Ah! Nevermind any of that okay! Please... just please... come get checked out with the Doc for now. I just want to make sure you are okay after all that happened alright? I promise once you get things checked out I won't pester you about it again... okay?"

Levina looked up at Azure. The worry clearly was plastered on her face. She was being a bit more soft then normal. Her tough act being for certain put asside. After what happened earlier she was just concerned Azure might be hurt. All she wanted was for him to take care of himself. Her eyes looking sweetly at him pleadingly almost like a little puppy looking up at his owner asking for a treat.

With arms crossed and eyes glued to the Eternum crystal in the middle of the room the entirety of the time he waited for Kat's response regarding what they should do regarding the damage to the engine room, his thoughts pondered not on Kat in any sense whether she would be a good addition to the crew or even what she had been doing on the ship through the days none of the crew seemed to notice her. Instead, his thoughts were mainly focused on their Captain, although Jin might've talked big and acted like everything was going to work out, how he actually felt was dreadful, even if he knew that the crash would likely not kill him, it would no doubt severe injure him and without them there to pick him up, surely one of the other bounty hunter ships would and from there who knows where they would take him.

As he continued to attempt and think up some plan of course for their next step once they could get the ship moving, when Kat had spoken, the words practically went in one ear and out the other while his stern gaze never left that of the crystal. They could bring the ship back around toward the location by going through the navigational charts systems at the helm and investigate the area, however, there was no doubt that all they were going to find was the wreckage of the old ship that the Captain destroyed, maybe the ship had some sort of documentation what to do if they were able to capture one of the crew.

It wouldn't be until Kat had questioned him for assistance did Jin finally snap out of his thoughts, with widened eyes and his head shaking, his gaze now focused down onto Kat who had asked him something, unfortunately, with his focus elsewhere at the time all he had caught was the final word being something about a 'ladder'. "O-oh, uhh..you need a..ladder? Right. Give me a moment." Attempting to act as though he had fully heard the question by piecing the idea that she had ended whatever she had been saying in a question-like manner and the final word being 'ladder', must've meant she was looking for one.
Turning on his heel, Jin took his leave from the engine room only to head over toward the opposite end of the deck where their storage room was located. Opening up the door, the storage room had crates upon crates stacked high, each one labeled a number of different uses; some were labeled as 'ammunition' others 'vegetables', 'rice', 'blankets' 'bedding' and a number other things. On one side of the wall rested a decently sized stepladder that had four steps, each one rising higher than the last. Retrieving the ladder, Jin made his way back to the engine bay where he held the ladder in hand before unfolding it in front of Kat to allow her to do what she needed.

"Can I help in anyway?" As he questioned her, he made sure to stay standing to the side just so that he could examine and shadow her. It wouldn't be as though he'd really understand anything he saw once she had gotten started but if there was something or anything he could do to help, then he would at least be there to assist.

Risotto- quite a simple dish no? Meris shook her head. Right, she could worry about it in a bit. After Red was looked after and not bleeding out on any of those pristine floors.

Wordlessly, Meris quickened her steps. Moreover, pushing him with her motion. Her veins helped her quite well. Without them, she would have probably crumbled already.

She listened in on his explanation. Quite an adventure they had and such only a few minutes after their vessel had seized its wings. The boyโ€ฆ summoned such a savage beast? Unbelievable. She had to see it with her own eyes. Perhaps less destructive next time.

โ€œAlmost there,โ€ she mumbled as Serina helped her to get him down the stairs. Finally, after miles stretching on and on, they found the doctor of the crew. B reacted immediately at Serinaโ€™s calls for assistance and soon the weight of Red on her lessened. Meris barely caught her breath as they already moved once more.

โ€œI believe Red has the greatest version, but all I know is Sabrina ran away, this fine gentleman gotโ€ฆ how do you folks say it? His ass handed to him? By a bear that boy summoned, apparently,โ€ Meris explained whilst struggling to keep up with them. Finally, they reached the med bay. It looked less destructed than her kitchen, she supposed. Which reminded herโ€ฆ hadnโ€™t she seen some crew mates in her very domain? They must be starving then! Meris needed to hurry up or else.. Perhaps another crew thatโ€™d throw her out yet again?

She shook her head and barely registered Bโ€™s count to three. In the last second, the cook managed to heave the red-head onto the bed. Meris released a long sigh, her gaze trailing after the doctor. They had settled into a chair after analysing the damage. Such a professional eye. Quite amazing.

โ€œSurely, Red wishes for painkillers,โ€ Meris cut in before the man could answer it himself. Realisation hit her that she might have misstepped on that part. Quickly, she glanced back and gave him a small smile. โ€œI mean, you do want painkillers, right?โ€ She scanned one wound to another andโ€ฆ with a slow nod she turned back to the doctor. โ€œI think he needs them, to be fair.โ€
