Name: Silano Raeth

Nicknames/Aliases: N/A

Age: 26

Gender: Female

Affiliation(s): N/A

Occupation(optional): Freelance Mercenary

Appearance Description: Silano is a tall, lithe woman that carries herself with an air of authority and grace with an undercurrent of rigid discipline. She generally dresses in a fairly mannish fashion, being mistaken for an effeminate man on more than one occasion. When in a work environment she wears a fanciful military uniform stripped of any obvious markers signifying to whom she once served. She will dress more fashionable when in her downtime but even then function still weighs heavily against form.

Personality: Silano is a blunt, straightforward woman who doesn't deal well with beating around the bush. She believes people should speak their mind regardless of what it is, as well as get something done as soon as possible. Waiting is not her strong suit and she's prone to just rushing in without a fully fledged plan if she believes her current state can get the job done. Due to this nature she does not handle meek people well and will constantly chastise them to toughen up, hold their head high, speak clearly, and to generally conduct themselves with confidence. Silano also holds a fairly romanticized view of combat and her role in the world. She believes it's a Knight's duty to serve the people above all else and she will put herself out in an attempt to help others. This leads her to believing the best in people which, while not making her naive, makes her far too trusting. Even if she knows she's being taken advantage of she will still go along with it in the hopes that the other party realizes their folly. She does not tolerance the abuse of others and will immediately intervene without a shred of hesitation if she stumbles upon some wrongdoing, chastising the wrongdoer all the while. When in a more relaxed environment she's the more subdued type. Content to just sit there and enjoy a nice drink before a crackling fire. That isn't to say she's anti-social, as she enjoys good company. It's just that a little partying goes a long way with her and she finds herself quickly drained if in an overly active environment for too long.

History: Silano was born to a minor noble in a country that, for some reason or another, she refuses to disclose the name of. Like most of her peers she was well educated in a variety of subjects. However, due to her affinity for magic she leaned more towards combat than any other subject. Honing her skills with a blade from an early age. Once she was of age she sought to join the military. Her father, not being thrilled with this, pulled some strings to get her attached as a personal guard for another noble lord. The post was the safest position she could hold, as well as the most luxurious, with her days being spent further honing her abilities and simple guard duty.

Her time as a guard continued for several years before the standard political infighting finally reared it's ugly head. The lord she was assigned to protect was assassinated and his guards framed for the plot. Accused for being hungry for power and riches and murdering their own liege. Of course it was all lies. It was just another lord wanting more power. But who would the kingdom believe, a bunch of soldiers or a noble? So the majority of the lord's guards were rounded up with only a few managing to avoid such a fate. One of those few being Silano. Those that escaped fled in all directions, avoiding one another so as to make tracking them down more difficult. Not able to remain in the country she fled and began traveling across the lands working whatever oddjob she could find for money. These travels, along with her past experience and power, brought her into the regular line of work as a mercenary for hire to which she still performs to this day.

Abilities:
  • Well trained in combat and military techniques
  • Well read, can do math and general academics
  • Decent cooking and general outdoorsmanship

Noble Art Type: Time Sense/Manipulation: Silano has an innate sense for the flow of time. This gives her minor abilities such as limited precognition as well as the ability to see back into the past among other minor manipulations. Due to the nature of time, it's fluidity limits her manipulations extensively. She can peer back into the past for up to several days, allowing to see events that had transpired in that location. However, looking forward is much more difficult giving her only a few minutes at best as any alteration, including her own viewing, can alter the flow of time into another direction.

Device: Chronos, Silano's device, takes the form of a large greatsword with an ornate jewel-encrusted handle. The weapon can be split in two and functions as two broadswords. Further segmentation is possible as the device's blade has a durable wire running through each of the blades allowing them to function much like a whip. She has spent years extensively training with all three forms of her device. When not summoned the device takes the shape of a small ocean-blue gem worn as a necklace.

Noble Arts:
  • Second Chance: One of Silano's primary uses of her ability in combat, second chance allows her to revert time, to undo the actions that had just transpired. This reversion can only go back up to a minute, but even that is largely unseen as Silano's favored use of this ability is to go back in time just a few seconds. By limiting herself in this way she can utilize the ability much more freely. From her enemy's standpoint it gives her an unnatural reaction time and aptitude for combat. As strikes that should hit are blocked, and successful parries are countered. After all, she had already seen them perform this move before they even performed it.

  • Inner Being: The pair to Silano's Second Chance, Inner Being is her offensive component. It allows her to create a localized manipulation of time that affects her and nothing else. With this she can either slow down or accelerate her body. Putting it into a comatose like-state for hibernation or rapidly increasing the speed of her swings for imperceptibly fast attacks. As she's manipulating the flow of time any change still sees her body reacting to it. If she accelerates time her body will age accordingly, same for if she slows time. If she increases time by three times, her body will age three times faster while under this effect. Given her limited usage of the ability for quick attacks this drawback is not one she is overly concerned with, however it does limit the extremes she can take it.

Blazer/Mage Knight Stats:

  • Ranking: A
  • Physical: B
  • Luck: C
  • Offense: A
  • Defense: A
  • Magic: C
  • Control: A
Weaknesses:
  • Overly trusting in the nature of man
  • Not very physically strong compared to other blazers
  • Is currently wanted for high treason with a bounty on her head

Plans for Development: To clear her name and return to her homeland.

I'll edit in her homeland when I even know where in the world we are.

“I’ll show you just what these old bones have left in them.”

Name:
Aelius Refulgeo

Nicknames/Aliases:
Solis Ortus

Age:
84

Gender:
Male

Affiliation(s):

Occupation(optional):
Drifter

Appearance Description:
38c2f366e1cc64ba1160071e2ad4759f.jpg
Aelius looks exactly how many would think a man in his 80s would look- a full white beard that obscures his face, coupled with long, yet lush, white hair, and a wrinkled countenance. He has piercing sapphire blue eyes that are, however, remarked to be rather youthful, and are not the tired ones that old men usually possess. There is fire left in this ancient one yet.

Personality:
Aelius Refulgeo has seen all kinds, and has slain all kinds. He has seen the world, and if an upstartish child would attempt to lecture him on war and the world at large, he would be more likely to cuff their ears than to entertain them. He has little patience for those who will not shut up and listen, and for those who would refuse to take into heart life’s lessons. Hardly the kind, grandfatherly sort, Aelius is, for the most part, a tough nut to crack. However, he seems to show some tolerance to children and well-behaved youths that ‘know their place and their station’, and, very often, displays a strange sort of kindness to these samesaid people. He is willing to teach those willing to learn, and has much more control over his temper and patience with those who would recognise him as anything but a senile old man.

He decries station in life as nothing more than just that- a station. All will die, and to flaunt one’s title is to flaunt nothing more than a piece of cloth.

He dislikes noise and excitement, and gets extremely irate when stuck in an environment with both of these.

History:
An ancient swordmaster who served his King loyally, an old man who has gone through the pains and joys of life, the ups and downs of living, experienced the birth and death of many, brought about the deaths of some. Aelius Refulgore seeks something that cannot be found easily.

Once a farmer’s child who took special interest in the art of swordplay, he was taken in under the military, where he built up a reputation as a particularly skilled swordsman. He earned the trust of the then-King after personally aiding him during an assassination attempt, and successfully fended off waves of enemies alongside his King. Acknowledging the young man as his peer, the King took Aelius Refulgeo as his High Bodyguard. Though a position that surely ensured him noble status, never once did Refulgeo accept such boon, choosing instead to make his earnings by honest to goodness work, and never stuck his hand in politics. Together, however, both Aelius and his King brought a new era to the Kingdom, as not just bodyguard and king, but as friends and partners.

Refulgeo buried his parents when he was 27. He mourned for three days, a customary practice, before returning to his duty as High Bodyguard nigh instantly after the three days were over. It was after the death of his parents that he found solace in the arms of Lunae, another soldier in his King’s army. Though preceding him by 6 years, they were what many would describe as a loving and fitting couple. They married when he was 29. Together, they bore two children, a boy and a girl, both of whom now still serve the Kingdom.

His King perished when he was 40, and he left the service of the crown, peddling his sword to other countries, and occasionally his old loyalties, under the rule of the new King. It was not that he did not wish to serve under the new King- it was that he believed it was time for a change of guard, so to speak, a time for a new generation to take over. Despite having left his mantle behind, many still know of the ancient swordsman as THE Solis Ortus, the sunrise of the Kingdom. That name has since been used as a title of respect given to those who have mastered the sword, but only one man truly held it firmly.

Lunea died of old age when he was 78. He buried her with his parents. He wept again for three days, then picked up his swords and set off again.

His time was coming.

At the very least, he would see it with a sword in hand.

Abilities:
Master Swordsman: Skill forged by 70 years of war and battles, Aelius is nothing to be trifled with. One may see him as a frail, old man with some flash and no substance with his Noble Arts, and while he is no spring chicken, he does not hold the title of Solis Ortus for naught.

Veteran: He has seen all sorts of tricks in the 70 years he has been wandering around, peddling his swords. Nothing surprises him, and nothing gets beneath his notice.

Noble Art Type:
Light Manipulation

Device:
Candentia: A sword with a staff-like structure that doubles as a walking cane when sheathed. It has a strange clip on it that allows Aelius to attach the sheathed sword to his belt. He usually uses it as a normal walking cane otherwise.

Noble Arts:
61b97d52d44f994865a45febdc7ad363.png
Solis Ortus: Aelius’ signature, and namesake. Aelius channels a bright flash of light from his sword, blinding any opponent facing him. He is able to channel the said flash of light from his hand as well. While normally not too dangerous, at close enough proximities, the flash can permanently damage a person’s eyesight.

Viderunt Omnes: Aelius channels a bright searing light onto both of his swords, turning them into weapons of destruction, allowing him to cut through almost any and all things, outside of other Devices. Even then, it is highly discouraged to clash blades with him, as his swords will do some damage nonetheless to Devices.

Convibro: Aelius moves at the speed of light for just one moment. Though simple, this act alone taxes him, and cannot be done repetitively or with a large amount of movement without tiring him out. As such, he limits it to simply deflecting attacks or just edging sideways.

Blazer/Mage Knight Stats:
Ranking: A
Physical: B
Luck: E
Offense: A
Defense: A
Magic: D
Control: B

Weaknesses:
A master swordsman by his own right, but only that much. His Noble Arts are weak and unimpressive, and as such, he relies wholly on his sheer amount of skill to function as a fighter.

Plans for Development:
His voice actor dies mid-season, so he stops having a speaking role, or is unceremoniously sent elsewhere.
