Fantasy Charting the Uncharted (instance 1)

Multiple Llamas

Professional senpai
The town had never been given a name. It didn’t need one. It was the one known piece of land, and what lay behind the towering city walls was unknown. Nobody needed to leave. The King, as the leader called himself, enforced total isolation from the world around. He spread tales of vicious creatures, of inhospitable landscapes. He spread the belief that the forces of nature were trying to keep them in.

Every so often, one would try to escape, to find a way out, to explore the unknown. The guards ‘took care of them’, to word it in a pleasant manner. The King told the townsfolk that he didn’t want to lose the small population that the city had. These statements deterred most from further escape attempts.

But there were still the few who wanted to find adventure, to chart the uncharted. Every few hundred years or so, they were told, one would break free, reach the outside. One they’d left, they were left for dead by the people of the town. The only thing that is known for certain is that none have ever returned.

It was a brisk spring evening where this story begins. Spurred on by the legends surrounding the world beyond the city walls, a small group has planned an escape. After months of planning, tonight was the night they would break free.

Reve walks into the room, seeing everyone sitting and standing in the room they've all decided to meet in. Everyone looks at him, but then goes back to their deep thoughts. After waiting for too long, he finally decides top speak up.

"Alright everyone! Listen up!" he says boldly, "It looks like our leader won't be here for a while, so I'll take the honors of being in temporary command." snickering and giggling could be heard from the crowd; it looks like they don't believe him, turning their heads back to themselves making it even more obvious.

Reve claps his hands, using air magic to send a loud echo into the room. It's loud enough to ring in the room to cause headaches, but the room is contained enough for it to only be heard in the room.

"Oh sorry," he says sarcastically, "Were you too busy ignoring me?" he gets everyone's attention, giving him a smirk, "Now then, I was told that tonight we were to leave by sneaking out through the city. But... after seeing the guards, and calculating the size of this city, that will be a problem... it appears that they have certain "schedules" of where they walk at what time... I've studded them enough to see their patterns, and... it seems like the best time to leave is actually an hour from now. any earlier or later, and we have a spot too tight for escaping."

He crosses his arms, and says in obligatory: "Any questions?"
