My Interest Check
Heyo thanks for coming. What I need to accept a cs is below but add more if you like. Like the check said this party are somewhat familiar with each other so maybe leave backstory open to collaboration. Could be as simple as they met and travelled together to Swallguud, might be as intricate as a sibling relationship with inside jokes goals. It's up to y'all. If you have questions please ask in a pm or on the ooc page.

Rank/title: (the bard, the archer etc)

Name:
Age:
Appearance:
(Picture and small description please, things others might notice like height or hair colour)

Race: (most fantasy races allowed, half elves dwarfs gnomes humanoid animalfolk etc... no Goblins, Orks or anything else that's usually deemed as a monster)

Race/Inherent talents:
(Whats special/unique about this character thanks to their race? You can list a few things here. For example while Gnomes are typically weak, short, they are naturally stealthy.
Most half elves are capable of some magic without studying it.
Beastkin have various strengths depending on race.)

Skills:
(Talents learned over time... Swordplay, cooking, dealing cards, if they are able to do it well and you think its relevant list it here)

Flaws:
(No one's perfect, be it a phobia a injury a or even a problem regarding hygiene or attitude... put something here that other characters might grumble about. "Bob's good but he always gambols, loses more than he makes" "Sally is a hotheaded bitch" doesn't have to be heaps)

Gear:
(What they typically take on a job/adventure.)

Backstory:
(Be vague or detailed, you can also expect me to adapt the backstory in some way if I can fit it anywhere into upcoming arcs and plots... we can discuss things if you like or you can be random with it.

Maybe your a royal in hiding from far away lands, most your family killed in a assassination...
Maybe you escaped a ruthless band of criminals you hope to never see again...
Maybe you have no memory whatsoever and are willing for me to make up your backstory and maybe you discover it in game who knows)

Title: Toxic Thief/the Rogue

Name: Wada
Age: 32
Appearance:

5ft10 with black hair and green eyes. While obviously human, Wada looks foriegn in the lands of Hardal. A stoic resting face that breaks often to smile or scowl.

Race: Human/Nari.
Nari are descendants of what can best be described as "Spirit Elves" though the Nari are essentially human with a affinity for spirits though incapable of magic, unless they have a Guardian spirit inside their body as a conduit.

Inherent talents: Like any Nari Wada can see ghosts and spirits and has a Guardian spirit himself. a Guardian spirit works as a familiar and a conduit for magic though not at the same time.
Wada's spirit is a toxic plant creature of some kind. When summoned it would look like a ivysaurs ghost. Able to whip and grasp with thorny vines aswell as spray a poison mist. When inside of Wada he is able to summon the same toxic vines.

Skills:
Agility, silent swift and speedy are all suitable adjectives for Wada.
Acrobatics, running jumping swinging flipping parkoar specialist.
Blade dancer, Wada is a graceful glass cannon using his vines in tandem with blades to move and attack.
Picking locks, with the right tools there isn't a lock wada can't open.

Flaws:
Wada is excessive with his vices, whatever disposable income and sometimes budgeted income goes into enjoying his downtime in a attempt to blur the bad memories that plague him.
Wada has a biased prejudice against sorcery, believing any born with power become corrupted by it. At the least becoming smug bullies, at worst sociopath monsters.
Wada hates and fears Pixies, fairies and any tiny flying creature capable of magic. A bad experience with some as a child...

Gear: Two daggers, a sickle, two chakrams, leather armor, fur cloak, lock picking tools, bag of holding.

Backstory:
Born in Shimanari, sold as a child by Famrican soldiers to the lucky Phoenix casino in Cloudheight. Wada worked chores in the city of sin for most of his life, finally finding a chance to escape when he was sent to the surface in the lands of Hardal. Wada managed to murder his co-worker and flee into the Boloforest where he hid for two weeks from the talon family hunters. It was in Boloforest Wada met Rui the half Delfari. With Wada taking point and Rui watching his back, the two were quite formidable. It wasn't long before the duo found themselves in Swallguud where they gathered a larger party to take on more exciting opportunities and tougher jobs.

The Warrior

Name: Titania Arum/"Hanami Kikuchi" (name of the host body)
Age: 2 years in current incarnation, host body was 18 at time of death
Pronouns: It/its for Titania, she/her for Hanami
Appearance:
Hanami resembled an Eastern woman of fine features and slight build in life, and has become pallid in death, with a slight tinge of green to her skin. Even the people who knew her in life are unlikely to recognize her as Hanami Kikuchi at a glance, least of all because she is presumed dead (and is). Now that her body is possessed by Titania, plant growth such as flowers, mushrooms, or moss and lichen tend to emerge from her, particularly on parts of the body that have been strained or injured.

Race: Leshy possessing a human body

Race/Inherent talents:
The magical plant matter that makes up a leshy alongside the undead state of her host gives Titania several notable capabilities, including:

Constitution: The magically animated plant matter that makes up Titania's form allows the combined body to be sustained by sources of nutrients and energy as simple as sunlight, reasonably clean water, and nutrients from the soil. Nevertheless, plant and animal matter, particularly decaying, is notably more efficient. As long as not starved, Titania can easily patch up even severe injuries or dismemberment on Hanami's body by extruding a portion of plant matter and knitting flesh and bone back together.

Plant Empathy:
By spreading some of its plant matter into other vegetal organisms or their remains, Titania can maintain a link that informs it of general conditions and the presence and type of other living beings near its host provided the plant matter left behind is not disturbed significantly. Matter left behind like this, if allowed to grow for a long time, ceases to be a part of Titania's own mass and has the same potential for life and animation as an independent organism.

Plant Manipulation: Plants currently hosting Titania's matter can be commanded by it to grow and reshape rapidly, absorbing nutrients from their current medium to do so. This allows the plants to serve as minions, barriers, or other necessary structures, though this ability becomes less effective in contaminated or deprived environments, and will invariably collapse or revert in the space of a few minutes.

Organic Extrusion: Titania can directly extrude different aspects of its plant matter from Hanami's body to create various effects, such as vines to bind or lash, roots to hold and climb, pollen and spores to intoxicate and suffocate. As these are direct extrusions of Titania's own mass, overuse can easily put Titania into a starved state and drive it to dormancy, though it can generally go a rather long way.

Skills:
Natural Sense:
Due to its origins, Titania has a natural perception and understanding of plant and animal life, able to predict their behavior and understand their physical condition after a brief examination. This extends to a certain attentiveness towards plant-based products like medicine, poisons, or woodwork.

Due to its full access to what remains of Hanami's brain and nervous system, Titania can also employ a few other skills:

Artistry: Due to her privileged background, Hanami has proficiency in several art forms including traditional dance, brewing, singing, tailoring, painting, and flower arrangement. For what it's worth, Titania can now do all of those things at the same level.

Swordplay: Hanami was trained in the Kikuchi school of swordsmanship, though more as a performance than in actual battle. The most notable aspect of the Kikuchi school is an arcane technique known as The Art of the Merciful Edge. This technique allows a practitioner to manipulate the surface of a striking weapon such that it employs either a flawless edge or a crushing blow at the moment of impact. When performed perfectly, a rapier can smash like a warhammer, or a mace can slice as cleanly as a razor. For whatever reason, purposeful strikes using this art by Titania in Hanami's body are imperfect, and always deliver the inverse of the weapon's intended design. This means that Titania can never cut with a bladed weapon, nor deliver a blunt impact with a striking weapon: the inverse will always happen.

Flaws:
Plant Biology:
Titania is practically invulnerable to toxins and diseases that have detrimental effects on mammalian biology (especially since Hanami is already dead), but conversely is weak to specimens that specifically target plants. Furthermore, Titania has the usual susceptibility to strong energy-based attacks, especially fire. A strong plant-killing toxin or sufficiently intense burning of fuel are the easiest way to kill a leshy like Titania, though sufficient depletion of its plant matter can force it into dormancy as well. Furthermore, Titania is more susceptible to lack of sunlight than humans are, and can be forced into dormancy by being deprived of actual sunlight for several days.

Recklessness: The entire reason behind Titania's current living arrangement is its wish to see and experience the world at its most intense and dangerous. While not necessarily the most pugnacious individual, it has no shortage of opportunity to put itself in physical danger and challenge the limits of its current form.

Divided Consciousness: The combined condition of Titania and Hanami has left something like a flicker of consciousness from Hanami. Deeply regretting her past actions that led to her death, Hanami tends to take over the more energy and matter Titania loses. If Titania is forced into a state of full dormancy, Hanami can re-emerge fully, and is intent on returning to her family, or failing that, to destroy her own body so that Titania cannot have it.

Gear:
In typical conditions, Titania eschews armor due to its superior constitution, and carries both Hanami's sword (which may as well be a large club in its hands), as well as a bow with a quiver of both blunt and pointed arrows. However, it is capable of handling most other manmade weaponry, and may adapt for a given target. It also carries basic medical supplies, as well as a pack each of dried plants as well as toxic fungi and pollen in order to replenish reserves on longer excursions.

Backstory:
In a certain land far away from here, the Kikuchi family was a well-known family, once known for the caliber of their swordsmen but in recent generations having rose to prominence as an influential merchant house. In this generation, the patriarch wished to establish good ties with the nobility, and expand the breadth of trade available to the Kikuchi to gain a firm grip over both the ports and the land caravans. His first daughter, Onami, agreed to marry the Minister of Trade, as a means of establishing an ongoing relationship. All seemed well, until tragedy struck. In the days leading up to the wedding, Onami fell ill with an unexpected affliction, and even the finest medicines and physicians that Kikuchi-dono's wealth could bring to bear did not save her. And so she passed away.

Kikuchi-dono would not give up. His perfect plan would not be stopped. He resolved to give Onami's younger sister, Hanami, to the Minister instead, and told her as much. The girl, more willful than her sister, would not have it, and she fled the same night. She survived for some time, traveling to various places and evading those sent to look for her, but eventually fell to an equally tragic mishap. Lost in a forest, she found herself pursued by wolves. While she was able to barely keep ahead of them, a single misstep sent her to the bottom of a ravine, where she slowly died of her injuries.

In that same ravine, a new form of life stirred. A leshy, a magically-gifted mass of plant matter that could resonate with the forest and prowl its length. But that wasn't enough for this one. It wanted to know about where this strange, weeping animal came from. How it came here, and how it fell. Rather than inhabit a solely plant-based body that could traverse the vast forest and share its strength, but not take one step beyond, it seized the human body before the scavengers could claim it.

With that, it began a life of adventure, challenging dangerous men and beasts and performing audacious stunts. For now, at least, it has arrived at the city of Swallguud, where there is no shortage of peril, and become an ally of the mercenary band soon to be known as the Charred Phoenix.

The Archer
Name: Rui Oshima
Age: 24
H/H

1728003340973.jpeg

Appearance: Pale Purple-Bluish hair with a grey hue and several teal streaks in the front which reaches just past the shoulders, Rui has yellow eyes and stylized nails. Often wears fingerless gloves. Red line on waterline of eyes.
Half-Elf
Race Inherent Talents: Absorbing the mana of dead ones for a little while - mainly from those Rui killed. Healing abilities only occur from the mana he took from others, strength based off the mana!
Skills: He excels at archery and is highly skilled with a bow, sniper rifle, and other long-range weapons. Eagle-Sight, great length of view from the years of night scouting, etc. Twirling items such as; Swords, pens, cards, etc. Cooking. Long breath hold - earned skill from running a lot.
Flaws: Catoptrophobia - Fear of Mirrors, Fear of Flowers, Loathes Touch / Fear of Touch
Gear: Typical Bow Sack + Arrows, 2 daggers hidden under a belt for melee defense in the worst scenarios, if drinks count then water! Darts, binoculars.
Backstory: Images flash, vivid colors scream with some sort of joyful emotion, and- it all happened so quickly. He was covered in a wave of wounds, lightheaded and turning unconscious. Now where exactly did this start? Well, for a beginning, Rui Oshima was born to a dark elf/delfari named Ryushi Oshima, and a human named Onikawa Taru. Ryushi had a well-deserved title- a noble of the land they lived in... Putting that aside, a timeskip back to le scratches at age 20, few hunters found him and now is raised by them to become an adventurer. But due to the wounds, Rui had a hazy memory of his past and now tries to learn more about it. Though, there were slight memories of having other kids-possibly six...siblings? Anyways, back with the time with the hunters, Rui learned several life skills with the time staying with them. It was only a mere year with them, but the hunters were always 'rough' with him for his own good. Seeing these hunters train, especially after seeing them do archery practice, inspired Rui to something more with his life. He persuaded the hunters - more like family now - to teach him, and they obliged. Rui's life took a turn for...the better you can say, and he was slightly content. But after some time, Rui was having a day in Haldur when he ran into a lovely lad coming with the name Wada. After some simple negotiations, they both realized one another were traveling to Swallguud. Reaching destination led to Rui meeting new people, and eventually grouping up to form some sort of 'team.'
Personality: Showing a calm and confident personality, Rui is cryptic and highly manipulative, twisted and able to outsmart most/some enemies without lifting a finger. He is mildly arrogant, a straightforward and intelligent man with a small chunk for a sinister personality - only which when he is forced to kill someone may he have no qualms. Despite most of the negativity from the just-listed, Rui is highly teasing and more sociable then one can ever be, and would happily see others do things wrong for a while before FINALLY helping.

Rank/title: The Bard
Name: Doesn't mind going by any name, usually presents as a "Super Slime"
Age: Mentally in his early twenties due to soul, the body itself is about 5 years old.
Plasmoid.pngwith the color of----->goated.jpg
Race: Plasmoid/Slime
Race/Inherent talents:
Can manipulate their body shape in many ways, being able to squeeze in/through really tight spots, and manipulate the tone of their voice to sound more masculine or feminine. This is why they go by they/them pronouns and generally switch voice depending on the basis of a song or something along the lines.
The liquid they excrete tastes exactly like the soda baja blast, though it has no value as an alternate to something like water. It's pretty much only used as an occasional snack or pallete cleanser.
Skills:
- Singing
- Playing most woodwind instruments, including just whistling
- Mimicking voices. Requires a bit of practice to learn a new voice, but can copy most nearly perfectly. Does it mostly as a party gimmick, rarely has an actual use for it.
- Dancing
- Persuading/Negotiating/Distracting. Need a good deal on that shiny new sword? In a tight spot with the guards and need an out? They're your slime.
- Drink making. Sometimes works as a bartender for gold
Flaws:
Their grandiose personality is a facade for the guilt and remorse they feel and is a point of insecurity. Fears being seen as useless and being abandoned more than anything. This causes them to more often than not, take on challenges they may not be equipped to handle in order to maintain their image.
Gear:
A backpack with a small variety of woodwind instruments, which almost always include a flute and his favorite instrument, an ocarina. If it's a particularly lengthy journey they may only bring a couple instruments or only hand-sized instruments and use the space to bring food and medical supplies
On the outside the backpack they have a rope, and usually carries potions of varying but mostly healing effects around their waist, as well as a dagger.
Backstory:
This slime was made deep in a forest, given form by a soul chosen by the whims of fate. Though they had no memories of whatever life the soul lived prior, they did absorb it's worldly knowledge. Though full of knowledge, they lacked emotion, personality. They spent the first year of their life wandering the forest, listening to nature's tunes, imagining their own. Eventually, they came across a village. Compelled by the people who live there, they slowly earned the trust of the village, eventually working for a local tavern. There, they expanded their passion for music as they would occasionally play for the clients, often using it to get extra gold. However, before they could really think about making it permanent, they were attacked.

The village was attacked by what felt like a small army of raiders, leaving the village as a pile of rubble.

The slime hadn't moved from where they were, having reverted to a puddle of slime in a barrel to hide. Getting out and facing what remained, they were sick. Feeling an immense amount of guilt, they ran, fleeing to a larger village. After a period of grief, they came to the conclusion that they would become better, wanting to inspire instead of cower.

They soon became an adventurer, and slowly crafted the persona of the "Super Slime", a slime full of grandiose confidence that would inspire allies and strike enemies with fear.

Spells:
- Thunderwave
- Sleep
- Command
- Healing Word
