Desired Hero Name: Toxin

Gender: F
Height: 156cm
Weight: 58kg/128lb
AppearanceAruka is a mutant with a colour scheme similar to a green dart frog, that being, her skin is almost entirely a bright green colour, with blotches of black, a warning to look, but not touch. These blotches are random in placement and shape, with the blotch on her forehead reaching down past her hairline to the bottom of the back of her neck.
Hero CostumeAruka's costume would be a black, lightweight, tight fitting suit which covered her entire body, with a visor covering her face. Said suit would protect against some blows, though to have it lightweight and easy to manoeuvre within would limit that. An additional feature, would be the ability to open any part of the suit on demand, so her quirk can be used as she wished without possibly negatively impacting others if she were to land atop them during a brawl.
PersonalityAruka is a somewhat shy girl, normally trying to avoid direct contact to others as it generally doesn't end well. Even when she is close to someone, she will be reluctant to come near them physically, due to her fear that she will cause them discomfort. On that note, she is often aware of the feelings of others, at least physically. This reluctance can cause her to second guess her actions in training, as well as worry about others far too much when in the midst of battle, even if someone claimed to have no issue dealing with her quirk, she still would not wish to touch them.
In conversation Aruka can be quite sarcastic, as it's much easier for her than actually explaining her situation, and is better than awkwardly ignoring others. When talking about quirks, she will often try to change the subject, not wanting to have people badly of her, not that she would ever admit she cared so much.
She is also quick to jealousy, being envious of others with powers that do not hinder them in their every day life, or are just powerful and impressive overall. This can often bottle up over time, and result in an explosion of rage if someone continuously talks or especially boasts about their quirks. She can also easily be jealous of other things, such as intelligence, but not to the same degree.
Aruka's sense of humour is also... Not very well developed. Jokes are often met with a blank expression, or a deep sigh, and those about her physical appearance are usually assumed to be insults rather than banter.
Likes: Trees, a good set of abs, running, modest heroes, those take the time to listen, eating insects (not that she would admit it, even if she was caught).
Dislikes: Fire, birds, flashy displays of power, villains, jokes about her appearance, perverts.
Fears: Touching other students, being singled out, never learning to control her quirk, never being able to get close to others.
BackstoryIt was clear from her birth that Aruka would have a quirk, no normal children were born with such a colour scheme unless they were extremely ill, and she was more than healthy enough. Her father was a hero, not an extremely famous one, but it paid the bills, and her mother mostly stayed at home working part time.
Things were generally fine growing up before her quirk, a happy household, with loving parents who did whatever they could for the girl, always trying to see or guess her possible quirk. It finally showed itself when her mother found her resting in her fathers arms, the poor man looking over in a mix of shock and joy as he could barely move. The effects were obvious, and confirmed by doctors the next day, small suction cups and strong legs similar to a dart frog giving rise to a simple conclusion.
Not all was well for Aruka, however. Her new quirk came with new restrictions, playing with other children would never be the same, and touching them without protection was a big no-no. As a child her appearance and quirk did result in some teasing, yet there were many who looked different, and would protect one another from harassment.
Growing up, Aruka was close to both of her parents, but especially to her father. Her father was a hero, it didn't matter how big or how small, she admired him, his acts helped and saved people. Sometimes in school children would recognise her name, and link her to the man, which always made her proud. She would always want to go out and see him at work, watch him take down villains and save innocents in danger, hell, in her eyes he was the greatest hero the world had ever seen, and she wanted to be just like him.
As she grew a bit older, Aruka's father started to earn more and more money, yet his recognition didn't seem to change. The young girl did not realise it at the time, but her father had turned to stealing from shops and banks, using his power for his own benefit. He was caught two years after he started, normally he was careful, but the evidence eventually led to him. He told his family he did it for them, but his words didn't matter, he had betrayed them.
Aruka was crushed emotionally, the man she had admired was nothing but a fraud, a villain, the type of person he promised to protect against. What he stole had to be returned, or at least the value of it, money the family just didn't have, having spent money more freely with the apparent increase in income. Along with this, her mother was well into her pregnancy with Aruka's baby brother, the situation continued to worsen.
After some years, with her father gone, Aruka's family was forced to move to a poorer area, and the absence of her father caused the young girl of nine to become frustrated far more easily. Her first week in her new school resulted in her getting suspended for getting into a fight with a girl that was teasing her. Normally she would have been expelled considering her quirk, but due to her recent experience, she was allowed to return. At first the incident frustrated her, but her mother reminded her of who she wanted to be, and gave her some great advice. It caused the girl to change her outlook, she would still strive to be a hero, so she could take down villains who would hurt others.
Her fight had reminded her of the possible dangers she posed, she could not control her quirk, and so she became more shy, less eager to interact with others, causing her to only have a few friends during her years until joining the academy. The problems with her quirk became more and more problematic as she grew older, watching friends hold hands as she stared at her own, knowing she may never be able to do the same. It drove her to envy others for their quirks over time, especially if they were amazing without penalty.
She spent much of her more recent years learning mixed martial arts, though never with a partner, purely for training. Joining an academy, was of course, the best way for her to achieve her goal, as well as learn to control her quirk, and so she applied as soon as she could.
QuirkAruka is a mutant possessing similar abilities to that of a poison dart frog. Her fingers posses small suction cups allowing for scaling walls and the ability to hang upside down for up to a minute if all her digits are used. While she does not posses the ability to leap very far, she can jump quite fast, around twice what would be expected of someone with her physique.
The colour of her skin is not simply there for show, Aruka's skin is coated in poisonous alkaloids which can disrupt the nervous system when contacting the skin of another. While immediate contact will cause small pain and discomfort, it requires 6 seconds of uninterrupted contact with Aruka's skin for a human to lose control of that limb for a minute. More powerful beings, or those with resistances to chemicals, will require longer periods of contact to be effected by this, and it will take longer for the alkaloid to penetrate clothing. A simple shirt could increase the time by another couple of seconds, while a padded jacket would take half a minute to properly seep through. Non-organic targets, or those with an immunity to alkaloids and toxins, will not be effected by this at all.
To maintain the shortest required contact time of 6 seconds, Aruka must consume arthropods to keep up the chemical balance in her system, which she begrudgingly does so in the academy in an attempt to maximise her chances of success in the school.
Super MoveToxic Hold: By focusing her finger to the centre of a targets forehead for the full duration it takes for the target to lose control (6 seconds), the target loses nerve control in their entire body for the normal time (one minute). The contact must be consistent on the exact point, and must be focused, so covering the entire forehead of a target with her palm will not achieve the same result.
