Luke was a test subject in a old facility that's now destroyed. The scientists did many experiments on him, granting him the abilities he possess now. As he grew older, he gained control over the powers and eventually killed the scientists and destroyed the facility. Now he kills and does whatever he can to keep his head off of those events.
