Char idea help needed!

Ok, so the basic idea I have right now is a Solar Eclipse who exalted in the middle of an Immaculate Order training center. He was saved from certain death by a Sidereal gold faction spy. That same Sidereal trained him in Fire Dragon Style. He was previously a member of House Cathak, but when he didn't exalt as a DB, he was shipped off to become a monk and not bother anyone anymore.

Couple of things I need help with:

- Isn't there a charm or something that lets you hide your anima banner as a DBs?

- What would be a good name for him? I was thinking along the lines of Twilight of the Dragon's Reign, but for obvious reasons I don't want to use "twilight" but Sunset or Nightfall just don't have the same ring to them.

- Any other suggestions you might have for making this idea work to it's fullest.

Eclipse of the Dragon's Might.

Second, what caused his Exaltation? That would help a lot to determine what Mister Cathak should be thinking.

As far as I'm aware, there's no way to hide your anima as any other type of Exalt.

I specifically don't want a Caste name as part of the name, and the idea was to be kind of an "anti-DB" name.

He exalted during a heated sparing practice against a rival cousin who was a DB. He nearly killed the guy and I plan to have him return as an enemy down the line.

It might be a Sidereal charm or something. I know the Abyssals have charms to pretend to be Solar, so something similar to that is what i need.

Dragon's Failing Might? Autumn of Elemental Years? Realm's Forestalled Winter?

Ah, that one. I think it's actually an astrology effect, so I think you might be SOL there.

Frick. I'll have to rummage through all my books when I get home. Otherwise I could always make an artifact based on the aforementioned Abyssal charm's power level and go that way.

The Gem of White Heat (Oadenol's Codex, p. 94) mimics the anima banner of a Fire-aspected Dragonblooded. You still have to be careful how you use Essence though, as it doesn't hide your own anima.

Alternately, if you can survive the traps, the hearthstone of the Invisible Fortress (CoTD: the North, p.~100) allows you to mute your own anima banner.

As for a name... why all the DB hatin'? Embrace your privileged upbringing, renounce the demon that possesses you, return to the grace that is the Immaculate path. Give yourself to the Immaculate Order, allow them to slay the demon that is raping your soul, and move on to a better incarnation. Better that, than eternal damnation.

1) Heaven Glory Shroud (Artifact 2, no attunement cost) increases the amount of peripheral Essence you have to use to show Anima by (7-Essence). Not exactly what you wanted but it helps. No charms that I know of outside Sidereal MAs), but there is a spell, Disguise of the New Face, that can diguise your anima (along with everything else about you or the person you cast it on).

2) Shadow Over Dragons Light (Kind of a joke for anyone who gets it)

3) Learn at least one Terrestrial MA in addition to your Fire Dragon Style. Its always helpful when you going to be around a lot of DBs

whole in disguise (Five Dragon Style is very well rounded). Seek out Five Days Darkness and learn some more MAs from him, he would be more than happy to help any Solar. Get some Five-Fold Harmonic adapters and either use Jade artifact (while hiding the adapter) or stick them on Oricalchum (or any other MM) and you should be able to get away with using them. Also, Perfected Boots. Best. Artifact. EVER.

Alchemicals actualy have a charm to make their anima look like another exalt type not that it is all that helpful at this moment.Trans chosen Emulator page 155

I'm terrible at Exalted names, but here's a few ideas to stay alive.

First, the idea of avoiding anima flare is more practical than changing your anima. The only charms I know of are the Alchemical one mentioned earlier and (type) Exalt Ways from Prismatic Arrangement of Creation style SMA. If you pick up some essence regain charms, like Essence Gathering Temper and the Lunar Might Bolstering Blow, you can keep that personal pool full. You can also go for the top of the dodge tree and get a persistent defense that doesn't keep costing motes. There are plenty of MA charms that give persistent defense as well. Maybe check out Ebon Shadow Style also.

Second, as an Eclipse, manipulation is your greatest weapon. You can alter the perceptions and opinions of those around your character with Socialize and Presence charms so they just forget to notice your "demonic" nature. Create a following among those who don't know your nature and bind them to oaths. Then when you have to reveal yourself, at least they'll hesitate if not openly abandon their prejudices and join you.

If you can get spirit charms, pick up Principle of Motion, it's ridiculously good and can be prepared in private when you have plenty of essence and the deliver extra actions later with no mote cost.

good luck!

If you want a great defense charm, invest in Celestial Monkey. Four Halo Golden Monkey Realignment, lets you use your full (Dexterity+Martial Arts) total for your PDV, instead of halving it (everything else is still halved). It's the second to last charm in the tree, but the entire style is pretty nice and you get Celestial God Body Understanding, which is one of the best charms ever (for MA anyway). Of course, you have to be okay with never raising you Virtues above three. I'll also point out Five Dragon style has some a nice defense charms too and it is a common style among DBs, Immaculates in particular.

I'm surprised no one has said this yet: There's a Larceny charm in the Core book called Perfect Mirror that lets you completely mimic the appearance of any supernatural trait and even imitate a specific person. This would apply to Dragonblooded anima appearance just as much as anything else.

Second, there's a charm called Swallowing the Sun in GotMH: Unconquered Sun that lets you shut off your anima for 2wp, 1hl. Both of these require Essence 3.
