Chapter 1: "Life in the Village"

"Gone! Damn it!" how long ago did they come?" he unsheathes his sword just a tiny bit. "they have got to be close" So much was going through his head. why did it all have to happen when he became head guard. "why would they want to bring Majuu Guelimja back? I understand going through it all to get it but why revive him?" this question stuck in his head. Alister walked to the injured guards to look at the wounds. "damn these are pretty bad. They really are powerful." he looked back at the guard who guided him. "I already know what we have to do." he fully unsheathes his sword.

The guard finishes up tending up to the wounded guards but they would have to be escorted back for further medical attention.

"Captain we'll have to escort the guards back as soon as possible," the guard says as he surveys the place. How did someone sneak in here without the guards noticing? Whatever it was it had to have been some power or something of the sort. First he started to carry one of the guards on his back and looked back to Alister. The other guards who would have some strength left stood up.

"I'm going to take them back to the village," he said before another guard spoke up. "Whoever attacked us... I'm sure he/she didn't go very far. I heard that carrying the Eye of Shadows has some... strange effects." From there the rest of the injured guards limped back to the village along with the healthy guard. Now all Alister had to do was find whoever stole the Eye and retrieve it back.

Meanwhile the guards were still fighting the swordsman back at the back guard station and held on for as long as they could. If reinforcements didn't show up then it could spell trouble. Also the other guards at the forest were fighting off against the archers. Because they were in the forest, terrain advantage was important and the guards knew the forest's layout from patrols. Two guards were wounded and two archers were down.

Atticus responded with a frown. "Well, I can't sit idly, and it would not do good for our only medicine woman to be caught in the fray." Atticus shrugged "You're the brains of the village, though. I'm sure you'll know what to do. I however, am good for one thing right now." Atticus ran out the door, with a fleeting "The strength of my sword arm. Have to make sure the boy lives to get this sword, after all."

Atticus ran towards the sounds of the commotion, to the back guard station. It didn't look like things were going too well, the odds were leaning in the favor of the rogues. Atticus approached the nearest bandit, adorned in a sort of uniform, and yanked him by the scruff of his neck, throwing the man off the guard he was previously engaged with. Atticus gave a simple "Hope my weapons are holding up for you guys, came to lend my arm as well."
