Chapter 0.5- The Initiation Ceremony

Lilly darted forward, running ahead without a thought in the world. An excited grin was plastered on her face now knowing the correct way to go. See, I was right! The directions lead me to Leise, and she pointed me the right way! You can always count of the magical random finger pointing system to go the right way, not to mention I get a partner now too! Its so much fun having someone else with you! Being alone can be so boring, lame combat school didn't ever really let us partner up or anything of the sort... or at least get to have fun picking out partners and stuff. All about 'personal focus' stuff. It made it soooo boring. Beacon seems so much funner so far, so many fun people... like Leise! Oh wait... where is she?

She came to stop, glancing back to see Leise following behind her having created a bit of distance between herself and the girl. She waved cheerfully, quite content to let her catch up before she began running forward again, this time attempting to keep on pace with her new 'partner'. She hadn't at all the slightest clue about Leise unease, whether it was about her invading her personal space or 'flaunting' her assets. Fortunately running as they are didn't allow Lilly to unintentionally flaunt anything or be that close up to her.

"Soooooo... what is with you talking through the scroll thingy? Is it like a fancy voice you like using... or like a translator so I can understand you... or... ooooh! Perhaps your words are like, super sonic going beyond the human capability of understanding so you resort to using your scroll to speak for you?" She questioned her, seeming to go straight for the outlandish rather then coming to a more obvious answer.

Joshua nodded at Heilig's comment, "indeed, although working at Dad's hospital can be quite harry sometimes. Grimm slaying isn't as bad as working on someone, one wrong move and they're either gone or in worse condition. I try my best to avoid those situations, but you can't predict everything that happens like..." Joshua suddenly stopped in his tracks and craned his ears towards the treeline, "Heilig do you hear that?" A scuttling could be heard coming through the forest as it approached them. Trees were cast aside violently as something careened towards them. It then became clear what exactly they were up against, A Deathstalker had found them and had selected them as its' prey. Joshua then conjured a shield to block the oncoming claw as it flew towards them. It struck the shield and although Joshua blocked It, he felt the full force of the attack reverberate though his body. "RUN!" Joshua screamed.

Satochi and ParisParis bit his lip as he trounced through the woods. Was this guy, Satochi, trying to piss him off? Had he never met a differently abled person in his life? He spun neatly balanced on one foot, and looked at him. “No, no accident- I just decided one day I wanted swords for legs and cut them off- Don’t move.”

He had spotted a pair of eyes in the woods behind Satochi, the distinctive red that all Grimm bore. He pulled out his Jazz Hand from inside his coat, and aimed it into the forest. “We’ve got company, but I think it’s waiting to pounce.”

“Yeah, I’ve noticed,” Satochi said, hand on his hip as he stared into the forest behind them. “Seems big, too. Maybe a Ursa or a Deathstalker. Whatever it is, we’re gonna have to fight our way out of this.” He observed his surroundings, transforming his weapons as he used them to assist himself in climbing a tree. He recalled reading something about how sound works and how it travels through different mediums. Sato stuck a knife in the tree trunk and placed his ear to the handle, listening for vibrations through the ground. It wasn’t heavy or repeated; it was more of continuous vibration, which could only mean one thing: a King Taijitu. “Get ready, because our guest is a King Taijitu,” Sato called out to Paris, getting ready to get the drop on the twin-headed snake.

“I’m alway ready. In case you didn’t notice, my legs are weapons.” He laughed shortly. This was something he could handle much easier than a tactless pretty boy. As the rustling in the trees grew louder, Paris spread his legs wider, getting into a fighting stance.

The snake Grimm slithered out of the tree, it’s white launching right for them. Paris dropped to his back, kicking his leg up in the air to slice across the bottom of the Grimm’s stomach, before rolling away. That was at least one hit in. He fired towards the black head, but it was still slightly obscured in the trees. “White or Black? If we each take on one head, we won’t kill each other trying to fight it.”

“Well, you seem to have your hands, or should I say legs, full with White, so I’ll take Black,” Sato called out as he watched White slither around for another pass at Paris as Black slowly appeared from the trees. He leapt down from his perch, breaking into a sprint as Black approached, gradually speeding up. The Grimm opened its maw as Sato jumped into the air to avoid getting caught in its mouth, firing down on it, continuing his barrage as he ran down its back before the cartridges were empty, forcing him to jump down and reload.

“Hey, can we cut it with the leg jokes?” Paris spun around to stand upright, unloading his gun into his assigned heads body as he barely dodge its lunge. He dashed towards it as he reloaded, beginning the intricate series of movements that was his fighting style as he got close. A short kick from the right, roundabout with the left, and then 2 shots of fire dust toward the head. Close attacks like that had to hurt, especially those bullets.

Of course, then he fell over. The ground was a bit soft, and his blade had sunk too deep during the roundabout. He tripped over the body of the Taijutu, but on his descent he managed to pop off another couple of shots, recovering with his free left hand to avoid falling right into a vulnerable spot. “You still alive, pretty boy?” He moved into position for his next attack, a strategy forming in his mind.

“Just peachy,” Sato said as he dodged strike after strike that Black attempted, firing back whenever he could. The black head rammed itself into its prey, knocking Sato back a few feet before rearing up for a big bite, fangs drawn like sharp blades. Immediately, Sato dropped Veritas and Iustitia in order to block the fangs by concentrating his Aura to his palms so that he wouldn’t get bitten and die. He pushed away the head into the ground, stunning it for a bit as he took a deep breath, concentrating. Black recovered from its short daze, rearing up for one more strike as Sato circled his arms around the front of his body. The King Taijitu struck once more, but as it was nearing, Sato thrust his palm, making contact with the head as a shockwave ripped through the Taijitu’s body, tearing the head to bits. A sigh of relief escaped him as he looked towards Paris with his opponent.

At the same time, Paris was defeating his own head. He had been knocked around a bit since his fall- the Taijutu was clearly trying to back him into a small grove of trees, blocking his escape. He met the snake Grimm, his legs parrying, but it wasn’t enough to keep him from bumping into the trees behind him. He was pinned, but the Taijutu only had one way to attack him. When the head lunged for him, mouth open wide, Paris lifted his leg and kicked, driving the spike of his leg into the open mouth of the Taijutu, effectively impaling it’s upper jaw. “Thank god Grimm turn into dust, or my pants would be ruined!” He mused as he shook off his leg. He probably would have been sliced open by those fangs if not for his aura. “I’m a little shocked we managed to pull that off- I thought you were just a pretty face.”

“Really? You’re more worried about your pants than your own life?” Sato said as he picked up his twin weapons. “And even handsome people know how to fight.”

He looked up towards the tower- they couldn’t have been more than a few minutes away. “You ready to rescue the Princess? You’d better not upstage me in this.” He grinned, rubbing his goatee as he pointed towards the tower.

“You do remember that it’s just a guy that Flint put into a dress as some kind of punishment, right? I wouldn’t want to upstage you for that.”

Paris shrugged. “Princess is gender-neutral.”

Satochi just stared, dumbfounded. “Historically speaking, princesses are all female. If you’re referring to a male royal figure, that would be a prince. The guy we’re rescuing is just someone who pissed off Flint, and was punished for it.”

Paris simply rolled his eyes, not bothering to respond. The two got back to walking, moving closer to their tower, and hopefully, to other students.

She would of rather of talked for a while if it hadn't been for the Grimm coming out of the forest around them, Bloodhounds. Before the other students could quite react to the threat she dashed forward into the fray. She hit the lead hound in the side of the head with her hammer and looked back to the other girls. ”What are you waiting for?!”

Getting crashed into wasn't really something Alicia had completely planned on. Most certainly it wasn't how she was expecting to start off this initiation. Being crippled right out of the gate was terrible! Inwardly, the Faunus felt the sting of worry. It was much harsher than the sting in her wing. Despite herself, Alicia shook her head, "No, Ms. Vatra...-san, I don't need a break!" she replied, knowing the girl was just trying to be considerate since Alicia was injured. However, she came here to train, to get stronger! To be a Huntress! To help others! A small sprain wasn't going to keep her from that goal! "I'm alright, I can handle moving forward!" She followed up with, hearing Vatra say she would like to move forward, though the bit about having an 'advantage' of arriving first was slightly confusing. Why? What advantage? That's what Alicia wanted to ask, before her ears caught the sound of howls. Howls that sounded quite familiar. "Bloodhounds!" she called out, recalling the many times she had heard and seen their ilk back in the forests of Mistral. Except, those times, her mother was always around. Instantly, she felt her heart rate increase. Sure enough a pack of small, wolf-like Grimm leaped out of the underbrush. They were similar to Beowulves, except they were bipedal, and acted more like wolves when they hunted. These one's were particularly small, not as threatening as she had seen before. Lesser Bloodhounds, thank the gods.

The girl that fell ontop of her was already leaping into the fray. She bounced back quick. That meant Alicia had to too! In spite of an injured wing. Her hand went instantly to her side, where her intricate, golden sword was sheathed. "A-ah, r-right!" the blonde girl chirped in response. She would've dove in instantly, but then realized she couldn't make use of her usual tactics. With a decommissioned wing, there would be no hit-and-run from her in this fight! Ahhhhnfff... That was concerning, but it couldn't be helped! Moving forward quickly, she ripped her blade out of its worn scabbard. "Yya!" Alicia called, swiping it across one of the hound's face similar to what the other girl did. It let out a whimper, stumbling away, before turning back, growling as ferociously as ever. It was like it hadn't even been cut. Alicia stared at it with a high level of apprehension. It gave a wail before launching at her. "AH! Yya!" Alicia called out again, stepping back and slashing it once more. Another squeal of supposed pain left the Bloodhound, as it was flung to the ground. It rolled, then got to its feet, turning back on her. Aside from the momentary pained wails from it, it didn't seem to be taking any damage from her attacks! It was like her sword swipes were completely ineffective! Shoot. She knew she wasn't the creme of the crop when it came to this stuff, but she honestly didn't expect to be completely outclassed by something as pathetic as a freaking lesser Bloodhound!

In her stewing, Alicia failed to notice the Bloodhound was back on the offensive. With its jaws wide open, it leaped at her, growling ferally, white teeth matching its white 'skull' face. With a sharp yowl, it leaped at her. "Aiieee!" Alicia squealed, as it knocked the bird over. "Tssss-aah-ow!" she hissed, hitting the ground with her back, her sprained wing feeling the brunt of the impact. Luckily her Aura was holding. "Tcch, getttt. Off. Of. Meee, fiend!" she hissed, her sword blocking its snapping jaws, the Bloodhound's claws swiping away at her Aura. Alicia struggled under the Grimm, trying to fight it off to the best of her capability, but all she could focus on was the pain her sprained wing was exerting.

It was humiliating. Lilly was patronizing her. What would you call when someone fast come to a stop, wave, and run back to match your pace? In that moment, Leise felt utterly inadequate, never mind the fact that Lilly’s chest area kept bouncing. It was annoying. It was irritating. Not because Lilly was flaunting it, no, it was the fact that she didn’t even realize she was flaunting it! It was very distracting (and also looked to be very painful)! At least, Leise wouldn’t be seeing it now since they were running side-by-side instead of where Lilly was running back to her to keep her company.

Then, the girl had the gall to speak. Oh, no, it was worse than that. She dared to ask. Leise pursed her lips, listening to every word that escaped Lilly’s lips, feeling more insulted the more she heard. Honestly, she was tempted to just ignore it. But she had a feeling that Lilly would be persistent and would insult her more and really, nobody wanted that. So, against her common sense, Leise whipped out her phone and began typing, keeping an eye out for stray branches and stealthy tree roots that would trip her.

“I’m mute.” Here, she had to restrain herself from rolling her eyes. “And I don’t go super sonic.”

Vatra was relieved to hear that the faunus wouldn't be holding them back, though she did have her doubts about the girl's ability to keep moving forward unhindered. Wings aren't necessarily crucial to movement, provided you're not flying, but if the pain is really that bad for she might have to stop later on.. Not too concerning, but something to keep in mind for sure. This is supposed to be fun for me, not babysitting. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. She'd take the girl's word on her ability to keep moving, for now.

Just before Vatra planned on suggesting they get moving, lest they want to be sitting ducks for grimm, the two other two girls announced the presence of enemies. Bloodhounds..? Not something Vatra had seen herself before, but she'd heard a few things about them. She turned around and drew her sword, watching as Entropia launched herself into one of the biggest creatures. You do you, girl, but be careful. Jeez.

Vatra took off shortly after the faunus began her attack. They were dealing with a relatively small group of relatively small grimm, so it wasn't too big of a deal. Entropia seemed to be handling herself fine, and Alicia looked capable, so Vatra left them to do their own things. She ran towards a mid-sized bloodhound who looked ready to pounce on Alicia before it saw Vatra, and quickly got on the defensive. Something Vatra loved and often took note of about grimm was their lack of intelligence. She loved taking advantage of that as much as possible during battle. In a singular quick move, Vatra lifted her buckler into the air (small hand-ish sized shield, not some belt buckle or something) and fired the silver centerpiece into a thick tree branch above her. Naturally, the grimm didn't expect Vatra to lift several feet into the air in a few short seconds after the centerpiece hit its target. She remotely detached the centerpiece and began falling, the centerpiece retracting back to her buckler via a somewhat thick metallic cable. Vatra stomped the bloodhound square in the nose, pushing it's whole head downwards with her entire weight as she came down on the poor thing. Once she fully landed, she kicked it in the ribcage and followed up with two quick slashes with her sword. It was disappearing into the air before Vatra had time to lower her sword.

Vatra turned to face her temporary teammates, expecting them to be finished with their opponents. She noticed the faunus before she got the chance to look at Entropia. The poor girl was trapped under a bloodhound, who was mere inches away from getting beautiful face bit into. She wasn't so lucky lower down, though. Vatra could see her aura flaring a bit every time a clawed paw struck her body. And her poor wing.. It was even more bent out of shape now than it was before!

Wasting no time, Vatra fired the centerpiece from her buckler into the beast's side. The bit of metal embedded itself inside the grimm's side and pulled it towards Vatra with insane speed. It was hard for her to keep upright, considering the weight of the beast likely was over half of her own, so she had to release the centerpiece before she fell over. Nonetheless, the beast landed with momentum that caused it to roll a few feet closer. Before it could catch its balance, Vatra put her sword through its skull.

Struggling on the ground, she wrestled with the small-mediumish Bloodhound. Those snapping teeth inches from her face -or worse, her throat. It was more than unsettling, -it was scary. Alicia had that frightened look on her fighting face. Fighting back she was. Her small arms tensed and ached pushing back the hound atop her. The pain in her wing was numbing, to the point she nearly forgot about it. With this monster on her she wasn't even thinking about an injured wing, she was legitimately worried for her life.

Alicia was surprised to already be put in this perilous position. And just after getting injured so quickly, so easily, so uselessly. Finally though, she was freed. As suddenly the obnoxious beast was wrenched off of her. Gasping for air, she rolled to her front, hands placing quickly on the ground. Springing up, she looked to what had aided her. Vatra had tore the Bloodhound off of her. Watching, the girl quickly did a fancy move using her unique weapon, ending with the Bloodhound disappearing into that telltale black smoke. Alicia felt awkward, knowing she had been rescued. With a slight soft, embarrassed tone, she glanced to the side, rubbing her arm, with wing hanging oddly. "Th-thank you, M-Ms. Vatra-san.. I... I appreciate the help." With those words of gratitude, she turned away, to face off against a smaller Bloodhound. The smallest one, to be precise. Needing to feel vindicated, she grabbed her sword and ran at it. "Yyaaahhh!!" came her war cry, greaves pelting the ground. Bringing up her blade, she swiped Noble Phantasm at the hound that gave her one angered growl. Finally she found her mark, slicing it along its side. "Yyyra!" she called out, yanking her sword out of Grimm 'flesh'. With a quelled yelp, the small Bloodhound fell and evaporated. Alicia stood there breathing heavily, staring at the ground.

Lilly looked to Leise as she typed out her response in the scroll. She blinked, looking forward keeping up in speed with her as they traveled together completely oblivious to ther torment she was putting upon Leise. She wasn't the type to really think about things in such a way. She could be a bit too dense and far to energetic to know when to shut her mouth before she rattled off something she shouldn't. She heard her response come out through the scroll. "Oh...." She spoke as she continued to run forward. She kept quiet for a few seconds before finally speaking again.

"Oooooh! Like you mean like on the picture screen thingy when you press that one button and it stops making all the noises? Oh... oh... ooooh. Sorry! I didn't realize. I mean really I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't speak. It would be super hard, I'd not know what to do. I like to talk a little bit, at least that's what I've been told. Not being able to speak my mind would drive me crazy.6 I mean I guess I could do the voice scroll chat thingy but it would be so hard to type stuff out clearly, my mind can work faster then my fingers I think... I mean when I type stuff I usually start doing typos and all and I can get very impatient trying to type stuff out and just wish it just like automatically was typed out. It would be the worst to not be able to speak!" She spoke on a ramble not knowing when to stop. She looked back over to Leise witha bit of an awkward expression on her face.

"Oh... sorry." She repeated shaking her head as she ran forward with the girl attempting to try and catch up with the others. Fortunately for them they hadn't encountered many grim, likely due in part to the other groups ahead of them managing to draw many of their potential foes to them helping to clear their own path to the tower as a byproduct. She looked back to Leise quite exctied.

"Its so fun so far being at beacon! I mean I never expected to get such a fun test! I was worried it was going to be some boring test or something in a classroom writing stuff down. Oh! Also I love your hair! I mean the scroll talking thing caught me first but your hair really stood out! I tried to do shorter hair once but it didn't look that great on me. I was told I kinda looked like a harlot by some older guy... I mean I'm not sure what kind of bird that is... I guess its a bird unless they call another type of baby animal a chick... but I wanted to lok more human if possible... maybe some sort of fluffy animal instead if I'm compared to an animal. Nothing against birds, but the idea of being all fluffy and furry sounds so much cuter and cuddle-able! Then again... being able to fly seems so amazing... maybe being a bird is actually better..." She started to ramble once again before Leise.

As the teams neared the unknown destination they would hear a distinct scream. At first, many would think it was a terrified child. A girl child by the pitch, but as they neared closer the Tower came into view. It was a massive birdcage for a lack of a better term. In the center of it was Grizz dressed in a princess costume. The reason he was screaming was because two massive nevermores were stabbing their beaks into the sturdy stone bars. As soon as he saw the two teams approaching he pointed at them and swung wildly at the big birds. "PRINCESS GRIZZ NEEDS SOME HELP NOW, WHERES MY KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR" he yelled as another beak came flying in, he dodged it and began to run around the cage screaming. His screams were probably music to Flint's ear but to those standing below, it was obnoxious. He eventually stopped and both the birds stabbed into the tower and hit eat other "Hah, that's what I call killing two birds with one stone, it's....eggcellent." He says giving a cringing face before both birds ripped their heads back out and screeched. "Guess they did not like my joke, hawkward" he says looking to the students and hoping for a reaction.

Well, the nevermores were not amused at all, other than the fact the prey was showing low levels of fear and just taunting them the whole time they attacked him. So, they turned their attention to the new people who were arriving on the scene. Both nevermores lot out a gut-wrenching screech and took flight. This battle was going to be difficult. As they left Grizz walked up to the bars and looked down at the groups awaiting his arrival. Also, ready to comment on their fighting and making terrible puns. He was a solid peanut gallery. But that was not a good thing.

The students now were faced with impending doom. They had to fight. If they did not then their future at Beacon academy was over. Plus Flint would probably be very upset that he would have to go save his own student who he put in a dress and in a cage.

Leise’s lips twitched downwards before she consciously tugged it upwards to form a smile. Every word that escaped this… girl’s lips was an insult. She’d done her best to put it aside to remain amicable, but Lilly just kept pushing it. Just because Leise had the mute button as her emblem as some sort of irony and dark humour, it didn’t give anyone the right to joke about it. But, of course, it wasn’t like she could speak and retort. If she could speak, then nothing of this sort would even happen. So, as a mute girl unable to defend herself, she merely nodded her apparent assent to Lilly’s words while making sure she didn’t trip and fall and make an idiot of herself.

Leise was almost grateful when she heard a scream if only to have an excuse to no longer listen to Lilly. She slowed down abruptly, eventually coming to a stop within the cover of the forest to see what was happening. She took out Silent Vow and joined them at the hilt, forming a bow, and readying a fire arrow.

Two Nevermores circled a stone tower with a birdcage on top containing someone wearing a princess costume. That looked so weird. Scratch that, everything about this was weird. Leise shook her head to rid her mind of those thoughts. She was given an objective, and she’d fulfill it, no matter how weird it was. Using the cover of the trees, Leise nocked her arrow on invisible bowstrings before unleashing it, the arrow impacting a Nevermore’s wing and engulfing it in a fiery explosion.

Catching her breath, still quite shaken, Alicia looked up and forward. The small pack of Bloodhounds had finally been dealt with, though no thanks to her. Vatra’s help was much appreciated, but it was also quite disheartening. Wings showcased this feeling, slumped at a solemn angle on her back. Nevertheless, they needed to persist onward. “Ms. Vatra, Ms. Entropia,” she spoke, trying to mask her inner trouble, she continued, “I believe we should head onward… The tower is peeking out just over those trees.”

The fox quickly bashed aside the last of the bloodhounds that had attacked them, then quickly looked around for more. She frowned almost disappointed, letting out a little whine just like a dog after being told that you had to stop playing with it to do something else. ”Well… that's the last of them… Oh uh! Flappy are you alright?!” Her disappointment turned to concern as she quickly returned her attention to the girl she had injured. She quickly moved over the the bird faunus and returned her hammers to their ranged mode over her shoulders. Her eyes widened and her ears drooped as she put her hands on the pigeon’s shoulders.

Perking up when she felt hands on her shoulders in tandem with some softer, warm words, the birbie glanced towards the Faunus beside her. Much to her chagrin, the amount of black smoke around Entropia was staggering. Alicia felt reduced even more, seeing those disappearing black clumps. Like Vatra, Entropia had done more than she had. The other two were so confident when it came to killing the Grimm. It left a weird, sour feeling in her stomach. At least Entropia’s words were kind, her tone tender. That made Alicia feel a bit better. So much so that she gave her a nice, quiet smile. “I.. yes, I am fine!” She drew in a breath, rubbing the side of her arm, “I simply was not prepared enough for this level of engagement. Or this level of testing. In hindsight, I should’ve been. That is my mistake, and now I’ve learned from it. So…” she nodded, “yes, I am alright.”

”That’s good! As for the tower… What do you think would be the best way to get there?” The fox asked sliding her hands off of the Bird’s shoulders to her flanks, almost unconsciously mimicking the way she would do when her sister would get too worked up. Unlike a lot of people, she was unnaturally demonstrative and probably wasn't even aware of the contact between her and the stranger. ”I say we smash everything between here and there! Simple!”

Alicia also was not consciously aware of such contact. The fact that this total stranger was holding onto her sides was lost on her. To Alicia it seemed completely normal, since she was not in tune with what ‘normal’ was. As for answering Entropia, she glanced back, flexing her wings. A small frown found its way to her lips as she observed her sprained wing. The answer obviously would’ve been that she would simply fly there, but that was not an option currently. “Well, Ms. Entropia-san, I think.. “ she trailed off, actually totally unsure. Despite being a bird, Alicia was not really great with directions. Turning around, she had no real idea which direction they were meant to be going in, and while Entropia’s words slightly worried her, since she didn’t exactly agree with them, she didn’t see the point in arguing in the matter. She smiled and nodded once. “That sounds good Ms. Entropia-san.”

After a short time of heading towards the tower, the two arrived. Alicia bent back just a bit to look up at the imposing darkened structure. She felt small beside it, but other students were there, so any anxiety that arose inside her was offset by the security of fellow Huntsman-in-training. Her blue eyes took in what was happening. Two large Nevermore circled the skies, casting their shadows down. Atop the structure was a literal birdcage holding the princess they were to recover. Despite feeling better about the others around, a dread did fill her tummy. How could she possibly provide any help in this situation, she worriedly wondered?

Vatra turned to face the girl she'd saved, acknowledging and accepting her thanks with a nod. It was a little concerning that someone with such little prowess in battle could've possibly passed Beacon's initial entrance exam, even a little insulting, but she had to assume the faunus had some saving grace that made her valuable to Beacon's administration. Regardless, that rush she got from their short battle had Vatra itching for more, so she dismissed the dismissive thoughts of the girl's abilities and made a mental note to come back to them later.

After fiddling with the protective wrappings on her forearms for a bit, Vatra was getting a little impatient. She was eyeing the tower's top over the trees. It'd be a short walk. "I think I'm," She started, her voice hardly more than a whisper to accommodate the near silence. She was thusly cut off by Entropia, who almost definitely hadn't heard Vatra to begin with. She gave a little smile as Entropia expressed her concern for the winged faunus, and, knowing that the weaker of the two would be in good hands, Vatra set off to see what was waiting for them at the tower alone.

Vatra rode the treetops like waves, with the grace of an artist and the speed of a train. She used the grapple attached to her shield for the majority of her movements, with the majority of her body only being used to dodge branches. It was extremely taxing on her upper body, but it assured that she wouldn't be slowed by the creatures of grimm that inhabited the woods below.

A shrill scream interrupted Vatra's running, the distraction almost earning her a stern meeting with a thick tree branch. Vatra managed to come to a stop shortly before leaving the cover of the woods, and from her position near the top of a tree she saw a truly amazing sight. A man was stuck in a cage on top of the tower, the princess in despair that Flint had mentioned. She quickly covered her smile, in case anyone happened to be looking up at the treetops, and fell into a frenzy of suppressed giggles. It wouldn't be long before she fell again, although more literally, into a bush down below.

Her bout of laughter didn't stop, as she picked up the puns the man shouted out soon after. She knew how helpful she could be in a situation like this, but god... HAWKWARD!

Her guard broken by the bush, Vatra's laughter echoed through the forest unhindered.

Paris '"Retcon" SpearParis felt like he had been wandering the woods for hours. He knew that it couldn't have been more than one hour, but he had yet to run into a single other soul. He had thought, at one point, that he had seen another student, but he had called out and not gotten a response, so it was probably just his imagination. Or that student had been a rude jerk who wasn't worth his time. The fact of the matter remained: he was alone on his journey towards this tower. Well, alone except for the Grimm he'd had to solo kill.

It would have been a pleasant walk, if not for how urgent the whole matter had seemed. Paris had actually formulated a little plan on his wanderings. He would swoop up the tower before his classmates, rescue the Princess, and be lorded for his talents, and admired as top student among his peers. He liked the idea of standing out, and playing the dashing hero in a fairy tale situation like this was exactly the kind of thing that suited his style. He had to get to the tower first, of course, but having a plan was good, right?

His train of thought was interrupted by the sound of laughter echoing through the trees- a girls laughter. A witness to his heroism, perhaps? Or just a friendly face after all these trees. He moved towards the direction of the laughter, and eventually stumbled out of the bushes to catch glimpse of a white head of hair in the woods. "Wait, wait!" He called after her, trying not to trip over the roots of the trees. "Oh holy- I thought I'd never see another person in these woods. Gods, for a second I thought you were some kind of fairy or something- you're not right? You aren't a beautiful creature who's going to lure me into the woods never to be seen again? Cuz I'd go with you, really, but I'm technically in the middle of a school thing right now." He laughed nervously, hoping this girl understood he was trying to compliment her.

"You can call me Paris, Fairy." He told her, holding out a hand for her to shake.

Vatra Milost
// The Succubi Queen The Succubi Queen Elle Santiago Elle Santiago BlackJack BlackJack

Vatra was interrupted during her laughter-filled bonding session with the bush underneath her by a rustling in the vegetation nearby. Other jealous bushes, no doubt. She let her laughter die down a bit naturally, peeking over at the disturbance. She watched to see what her luck had brought her; which she expected to be an Ursa, or something in that category of horrible. Instead, however, she was brought a boy. Oh lord, that's even worse! She almost wanted to laugh at her own awkwardness. She struggled for a moment to make herself presentable, though the bush had her in a death grip that was near impossible to untangle herself from. She wore a polite smile when the boy finally became visible. Her smile was one-hundred percent genuine, too. Hoo boy, is he a looker..

Yep, I'd definitely prefer the Ursa.

She instinctively covered up her smile with her hand. Normally she'd have a baggy sleeve for that, to make it look a little more natural.. The wrappings she wore to protect her hands and forearms during combat definitely didn't serve the same purpose. She was glad she did it, though, because her smile was beaming as soon as the boy began talking. She laughed a little at his compliments masked as accusations, and let out a relieved sigh when he said he was here for Beacon's initiation as well.

Vatra took Paris's hand and, instead of shaking it, pulled herself from the bush with it. She didn't put the hand back to her face to cover her smile when she stood. "My name's Vatra. I'm here for Beacon too. So, no, not a fairy." She crossed her arms, shifting her weight to one side. "Are we just going to sit here and talk, or are we going to get this done, Paris?" She took a more stern tone now that she was removed from her bush. She jabbed her thumb over her shoulder and behind her, towards the tower. "That's where we ought to-" She gasped, the leaves above them rustling and the birds residing in the trees flying to safety as an explosion ignited on a Nevermore's wing just behind her.

"Oh, shoot, someone beat us there!" This boy and those two gals from earlier had distracted her from her original goal: get to the tower first! Wasting no time, Vatra whipped around and shot her grappling buckler's centerpiece into a tree branch above her and launched from the cover of the trees, the sheer power of the grappling buckler as it retracts tearing her off her feet in front of Paris. To prevent just swinging back around, Vatra remotely detached the centerpiece and flew straight towards the tower. She flew off quick enough to catch the flames on the Nevermore's wings as they faded, and although it likely didn't do much beyond cosmetic damage to the wing itself it sure looked neat!

Knowing she was going to be short of her target, the top of the tower, Vatra grappled onto the underside of the unscathed Nevermore. She tore off upwards, her forward momentum giving her a swing in the direction she wanted. She detached the grapple and got a look at the cage from above as she flew over it. No gaps she could fit through.. And breaking stone wasn't her field of work. She decided to get a closer look.

After grappling herself to the top of the cage, Vatra slammed into the side. She had her grapple positioned between the bars of the cage in such a way that it wouldn't be able to retract, so she was able to hold on and stick to the side of the cage with minimal effort. "Oi, Princess~!" She sang in a mocking tone, looking down at the poor boy. "Any ideas on how we can get you out of there? Because I'm stumped." She bit her lip, thinking for a moment. "Beyond using myself as bait, that is. Do Nevermores ram things? Could we get a Nevermore to ram this cage?" She let her grappling hook slip free and she let herself fall down to the platform where he was, albeit on the other side of the bars. "I appreciated your puns, by the way. Hawkward." She smiled.

After spending some time slinging some puns and attempting to irritate the birds eventually princess Grizz got really hungry. So, he left his spot at the edge of the cage and went to the middle and started to chow down on some beef jerky. Making some weird noises with each bite as if the jerky was giving him a lot of pleasure. That's when a grapple flew into his cage and stuck itself between two of the bars. Grizz nearly choked on his jerky, for this spook was too much for him. Then he heard a mocking tone and gave a sad face before galloping over to the side of the cage where the girl was. He looked up at her and proceeded to wiggle his eyebrows and do a few poses "How do I look in the dress, I also did the makeup myself." he says, and just to elaborate on the whole makeup thing. It was awful like the eyeshadow was all smeared and he did a terrible job blending, it was as if he had never done this before. But let me just say, the candy apple lipstick he had on was crisp. Grizz looked out at all the students "I wish I had an idea but I was knocked out by Crane and woke up like this." he says looking at her with a pouty face. However, his pouty face was not that great. Can't pull off a good pouty face when your eyeshadow is smeared all over your face and it looks like you woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

"You ever wondered how Beacon is still a top-rated huntsman school, like I feel like this entire sit-ti-ation" he says snapping his fingers as he said situation horribly wrong "is awfully illegal." he says putting his hand on his hip and bobbing his head around. "I would say that I can't deal with this school anymore but it's a pair-o-dice." Grizz says moving onto gambling puns. Probably not the best move seeing how gambling got him into this. Honestly, she could just leave him in the cage for a while, maybe he would be saner when she returned.

Grizz was now looking around the cage trying to figure out how he was put in the cage. He would not find anything because he was not smart enough to figure it out. Flint made sure to find the dumbest student to put in the initiation so he could not help in any way possible. Putting Grizz in the cage was even better than putting just some random idiot in the cage because Grizz was beyond incompetent and would just be more of a general annoyance than useful. And he was right, as long as he put Jerky in the cage Grizz would be satisfied.

Ah the smells of the forest air, how refreshing it is to the soul! This though ran through a young man's head whom was dressed in monk robes and carried a staff in his hand. In his other hand was a map which was unfolded and holding his attention. He had no idea what day it was, after all, he had just trekked through the majority of Vale in an attempt to make it to Beacon Academy. If he was correct, then he was in the Emerald forest right now, heading towards the school. Normally, he would've been fine finding his way, but the treetops had a way of blocking his vision. The boy's name was Hirrakiri, and he was on his way to attend his first year of school at the famed academy that his masters somehow got him in.

With a sigh, he determined that he was a small bit lost. Checking his maps for any landmarks, he saw a tower symbol not too far away from his spot. If he could reach the top, then he would be able to see where he was going. He could hear some talking off in the distance, maybe there were others?

"Well hello there, gorgeous. Come around here often?"

A raven haired cat-faunus glanced up from her scroll to find an auburn haired barista standing at the end of her table with a steaming mug in her hands, smiling down at her. "Not often enough it would seem." She answered accepting the drink and taking a sip, then added with a smirk, "The coffee's to die for."

The woman let out a startled laugh when the her ego was boosted and shatered all at once. "You tease!" She giggled giving the other woman a playful slap with her receipt book. "You don't even drink coffee!" When the only reply she got was a chuckle and a sip of hot cocoa, she shook her head and slipped the booklet into her apron. "Alright, Lilith. What are you doing here?" she asked curiously, "I thought you were on a mission?"

27768ee5b798c032453d8d963839a932.jpg
Setting her cup down, Lilith turned her attention back to her scroll, typing in a few lines of codes. "I was. I convinced my employer to give me the day off." The woman gave her a concerned look. "And how many fingers did you break?" Lilith just gave her a deadpan glance. "Really, Breva? I simply explained to him that my daughter was starting at Beacon and that I wanted to be there for her. No violence was necesary."

"So why are you here instead of at Beacon?"

"Have you ever heard of a parent watching their child's initiation ceremony?" Breva had to think about it for a second before shaking her head. Before she could ask any more questions Lilith scooted over in her booth and motioned for her to sit down. Hesitating only long enough to make sure no other customers needed her attention, Breva slid into the seat next to her, peering at the scroll screen that had been tilted so she could see. "Hold on. Are you-?"

"-hacking into Beacon's surveillance systems." Lilith finished her question for her quietly, Beacon's administrative access page open on her screen with a second window flying through number, symbols, and letter combos. There was a ding as the program found the pasword and multiple windows opened up, showing camera views of the Emerald Forest. Grinning, Breva scooted in closer. "Ooo! Someone's being a naughty girl." She began swiping through the feeds, then paused and squinted at one. "Um... Why is he in a dress?"

"Hey hey hey! Any chance we could talk this outEEEPPP!!"
Ally ducked quickly as a masive black paw swung to knock her head off. Popping up, she flipped back into the bushes and vanished from sight. The ursa lumbered forwards, moving for the bush, but when it slashed the foliage aside it found nothing. Looking around in confusion the grimm began to sniff the air, as above it the small cat girl was balancing on a branch. Drawing Yoake she tossed a glass ball behind the creature and hopped down. The glass shatered and the ursa spun towards the sound, bringing its neck in line with the decending blade.

There was no cut, no blood as the sword passed through the bear's neck, yet the creature still fell to the ground, its spine severed, and began turning to smoke. Ally gave her blade a spin before sliding it back into its scabbard, standing there for a second, the epitome of cool and grace. It only lasted for a second though before she completly broke character, pumping her fist. "Booyeah!" She cheered "That! Was! AWSOME!" She went to plant her foot on the dead monster in a victorious pose, but her foot went right through the disintegrating creature.

She had just managed to recover from her stumble when an explosion shook the air. Praying that it was coming from the tower she dashed off, keeping off the main trail and keeping to the underbrush. Finally she broke through the tree line and found that she had been right. There was the tower, with a cage with a burly man in a dress in it, but when she noticed the nevermores she gasped. "Holy crap! They're huge! So cool!"

Hirrakiri's pace immediately quickened at the sound of an explosion the cascaded through the air. The training he took was paying off well, his speed putting him at the tower in nearly 30 seconds flat. Cloud-Maker was held carefully, balancing in the monks hand in case of conflict.

"Holy crap! They're huge! So cool!" Said a voice next to him. Glancing over, he saw a young girl with darker hair and blue tinges to the ends of it. Judging from her wardrobe and weapon, Hirrakiri felt as of she was more focused on speed than damage. The last trait he noticed on the girl was her tail. A faunus of sorts, possibly meant increased agility. Back home, there were a few of the Faunus people living in the monastery.

"I suppose it could be viewed that way." He said to the girl next to him. "However, it might be in our best interest to help the others before the Raven starts its feather-rain."

Joshua Ebonmire and Heilig Reynard

As the Deathstalker swiped its’ claws downward towards the pair Heilig’s eyes widened. She slid her nunchucks out of her robe sleeves as she prepared to block the strike, but was too slow as she watched Joshua rush past her. He raised his shield and a loud metallic screech echoed through the woods as its’ claw struck aura. The priestess then narrowed her eyes and dashed forwards, her focus clear. Repositioning her hands on her weapon she swung them forward emitting a red cloud between them and the beast. Suddenly, the other nunchuck charged the air with electricity causing it to react with the red dust cloud. When the two different substances combined an audible sizzle could be heard causing a quick decision from Heilig. She latched onto Joshua’s arm jerking him back as the sizzle turned violent and exploded in the Deathstalker’s eyes causing it to reel back with a loud and confused screech.

“RUN!” Joshua yelled, and Heilig silently nodded in agreement before she released his arm. The two of them began to race through the woods in the hope of eluding the beast, thanks to Heilig’s attack giving them just a few seconds head start.

As the duo ran through the Emerald Forest all that filled their ears was the rampaging Deathstalker behind them. Joshua and Heilig were ever aware of its’ presence as it trampled bushes and threw aside trees in reckless abandon to catch the two of them. However, Adrenaline increasing their will, they were able to outrun it barely. The Deathstalker was an ever increasing threat and they couldn’t keep running forever, but they needed a better position to counter attack. That thought, however, was dashed as they broke free of the treeline and came out to a cleared section of forest. A small stone tower in the middle with a cage dangling from the top, and two raging Nevermores flying above shocked them. But, not all hope was lost as they quickly saw their teammates out of in front of them already dealing with their own problems. Surpisingly, a man in a dress was seen dangling from within the cage, their objective of this mission. With a strengthening resolve Heilig stopped in her tracks and turned around, readying her weapon. “We have to face this beast now, our teammates have no time to deal with it.”

“Agreed,” Joshua spoke, “We brought this mess, we clean it up.” He then got into a defensive stance and braced himself. The Deathstalker then broke through the treeline with a ferocity that splintered several trees in its’ wake. It completely ignored Joshua and Heilig’s classmates opting to instead focus on them. Conjuring a shield, Joshua gritted his teeth as it slammed a claw into his shield with the intent to fling him away. He was counting on this however as he utilized the kinetic energy to propel himself towards the Deathstalker’s face. As he got close he stabbed two of the Deathstalker’s ten eyes, namely the ones in the front. It began to recoil and retreat by a few steps to reposition itself causing Joshua to the same. Heilig in the meantime moved behind Joshua as he jumped back, healing any trauma the attack caused on his body. Joshua raised his eyebrows as a healing pulse emanated through his body as it was alien to him. The deathstalker did not move as it was waiting for Joshua to make the first strike. Seeing this opportunity, Heilig conjured both red dust and ice dust in front of Joshua as a proximity, the Deathstalker still waited for a concrete move from Joshua. This bought Joshua some time to figure out how to attack the deathstalker; its’ body was armored everywhere except for its’ underbelly, its’ eyes and its’, ~The Stinger!~ Joshua suddenly thought. He switched Occam’s razor into assault rifle mode and began to fire at the stinger. Seeing a commitment to attack, The deathstalker charged and while Joshua missed some of his shots, he got a few good hits into the connection between the stinger and the tail. However, he now had to contend with the angry charging Deathstalker. Heilig was prepared for this though, as she shot an electrical charge through the cloudy mixture. The resulting surge exploded as the Deathstalker got over it sending its’ body into exothermic shock. Realizing the danger, it began to swipe wildly at Heilig seeing that she was the cause of its’ current trauma. Joshua brought up a heater shield and crossed his arms as he tried to protect Heilig. The Deathstalker, pissed about the dust attack, was not letting it stop him. It hammered away at the shield while Joshua desperately tried to block and Heilig healed any trauma the shield did not protect. It then threw its’ weight against one final strike causing Joshua’s shield to shatter and flinging the two of them several feet away.

As the two of them collapsed on the ground another alien feeling began to wash over Joshua, one that was not from Heilig’s healing pulse.

Get up. Joshua looked around wildly for the source of the voice.

GET UP! He brought himself to his feet and said, “Who’s there?!”

A friend, that shield aura was blocking me from communicating with you. Oh and that Deathstalker? It won’t be a problem, let me show you why. Joshua’s shoulders began to jerk upwards as it something began to course through him. At this point, Heilig also stood up and watched as Joshua’s blue scalera began to morph from a deep blue to a blood red. You will no longer need to rely on that fallacy of a shield.

Seeing this, Heilig became curious, ”What? I thought his semblance was shield making, what is going on here?” She then shook it off as she prepared herself to fight the Deathstalker. The Deathstalker then sensed something was off about Joshua, it was going to simply run in and eviscerate the two of them, but now it wasn’t so sure. It still charged at Joshua to attack him. However, it was shocked when Joshua dove in between the claw striked and jumped on its’ back. Seeing that Joshua was going for the stinger, she threw both ice and electricity at the Deathstalker to freeze it in place. The Deathstalker became alarmed as it could no longer move its’ claws or legs to prevent Joshua from existing on its’ back. Its’ response was to wildly swing its tail, but all that did was loosen the stinger more. Joshua began to climb the tail while Heilig continued to throw ice and electricity at the beast when it started to break out. While Joshua made it to the stinger and began to hack at it, Heilig came to a startling realization, she was running out of dust to freeze the Deathstalker. As she was coming to this conclusion, the Stinger fell free of the tail and landed square in the Deathstalker’s head. “HEILIG! NOW!” Joshua yelled. Heilig saw the stinger and came to the same conclusion that Joshua did. As Joshua ran to the stinger and Heilig jumped on the Deathstalker’s head, the ice began to break. Heilig brought out her nunchucks while Joshua positioned the butt of the rifle above the stinger and together they slammed down onto the stinger. It descended into the head of the Deathstalker causing it to screech, before collapsing on the forest floor.

Leise gritted her teeth, simultaneously annoyed and relieved that the large Nevermore didn’t break from its flight. Cosmetic damage. Great. She nocked another arrow––a lighting one––on Silent Vow, making her way around the cover of trees. She already noticed that her fellow initiates arrived, with one daringly entering the scene, having some kind of grappling hook thing that allowed her to pull herself up towards the tower.

Then, the earth rumbled as the trees were felled, two initiates––one of them Joshua?––entering the scene, chased by a large Deathstalker. Leise aimed her bow at the monster, but due to their tag-team, felt that it would only result in something bad if she joined in. Besides, it looked like they had it handled. Leise turned her attention to the oversized monster birds again, before taking aim and firing.

The arrow sailed up the air, and hit the wings of the Nevermore she attacked earlier, its appendages spasming, the beast letting out a loud shriek. Red, monstrous eyes scanned the trees as it glided in the air, flapping its wings to keep itself in the sky. Leise was already moving before it even regained its muscle controls, darting towards another cover.

The other Nevermore also shrieked in response to its fellow’s plight, but this time it noticed her. It circled, then flapped its wings, sending its feather projectiles towards the trees that Leise was running to. She could feel the wings pierce the earth and destroy the trees, and she could feel it encroaching her position.

Leise ran, dodging roots and fallen trees and ducking under low tree branches, cursing in her head in the meanwhile.

Ally had been so engrosed in the giant birds above that she hadn't noticed that there was someone next to her until he spoke, forcing a startled squeek out of her. "Holy dust, you scared the crap out of me, dude!" She whined, trying to smooth down her now poofed up tail. "Wait. Feather-rain? The big ones do that?" Her question was answered a second later when the Nevermore flung its feathers at another student. She was about to coment on how cool it was when the monster's target dashed past, drawing the volley towards them.

"Oh dust! Scatter!" She called out, diving out of the way of the deadly projectiles. The earth shook and trees shatered from the force of the attack and she found herself dodging more than just feathers. At one point she tried to jump on a falling tree, but another one fell between her and the monk, cutting off line of sight, and Ally found herself going through the tree instead, stumbling and falling on her face right infront of the girl the Nevermores had been attacking.

"Woops! Don't mind me..." The cat girl said with a giggle as she pick herself up, "...just dropping in!"

As soon as the Nevermore began firing off its deadly projectiles, Hirrakiri was carefully sidestepping them. When the final feather flew past his torso, a pale green mist began to pour out of the end of Cloud-Maker. Within a few moments a large area surrounding him was covered in the thick fog. He had no need to see for the mist was his sight. Within seconds, he felt two presences, one of which was the faunus girl he had just been talking to, the other was unfamiliar. He could hear a loud caw high in the sky as the Nevermore flew overhead. With very little time to waste, Hirrakiri sprinted off towards the two. "Does anyone here have a form of ranged attack? If not, then we need to go before more show up."

Livana Gemalde
Livana.jpg

"Liv, would you stop stressing out about me!? I'm going to be fine." A tall ashen haired girl whined as a slightly shorter version of herself. Both of them had porcelain skin with deep sapphire eyes. though the taller ones left eye was covered in bandages, presumably from some type of grizzly accident that all of the other students were kind enough not to mention. Something that was more difficulty to ignore was her missing right arm. With the myriad of serious injuries this girl seemed to have suffered many questioned why this girl had been allowed to even attend initiation in the first place. Those same people were then hit over the head with a pastel repeatedly.

Not that the short girl didn't have the same concerns however. It's just that she didn't like anyone else trash talking her Ellia! "I can't help it Elli, I'm your big sister. I'm supposed to look out for you!" She looked up at her taller sister with a teasing smile. Though she wasn't technically looking, rather her eyes were just gazing in the general direction of her sisters face. "Ugh, you were born like three seconds before me Liv, you can't use the big sister routine on me."

"I can, and I will! Besides, three seconds sooner is like three years in twin time!" While she couldn't see it, Livana could tell by Ellia's exhalation of breath that she was rolling her eyes. She knew her sisters mannerisms like the back of her hand. Actually, I've never seen the back of my hand before... Well, the point still stands.

Livana's inner confusion was interrupted by Ellia. "Livana, that makes no sense on multiple levels." She said in a deadpan tone, but Livana simply crossed her arms and dug in on her position.

"Well.... Big sisters don't need to make sense! Their word is law." Ellia took a breath, as if about to make some kind of rebuttal before just slumping her shoulders and running her hand across her face.

"Liv please. I came here to be a Huntress. Everyone else is already looking at me like some kind of broken thing, I don't need you treating me like one too." Livana's arms quickly fell to her sides, backing away meekly from Ellia as if she had been brutally scolded. She desperately wanted to be there for her sister, to defend her. Humiliating her was likely not the best way to do any of these things. Not that I was ever very good at defending her to begin with.

"All students apart of the experimental team initiation, report to the cliffs immediately."

Before she could slink away, she found herself on the receiving end of a bear hug. Even with one arm her sister was stronger, lifting up with Livana with ease. "Go get em big sis! And be careful!"

"Hehe, hey I'll be fine! I survived the Atlesian high society, I'll be fine!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I'm not fine! I'm not fine!"
Ever since her graceful landing in the Emerald Forest it seemed as if she had been in a nonstop fight, what seemed to be a constant stream of Beowulf's assaulting. Somersaulting backwards, her loose fitting blue top being torn slightly by a claw that just barely missed. Upon landing she dabbed Künstler Berühren into a blotch of yellow paint, and upon landing flung it out at the Grimm beast assaulting her. The Beowulf staggered back, its inky skin scalded and burnt from the sudden assault before it collapsed onto the ground. It was one of many that littered that ground, looking as if an elemental maelstrom had torn through them.
Catching her breath, her Faunus ears perked up, listening carefully for any further Grimm coming for her. Finally it seemed like the growls of the Beowulfs had died down. The ashen haired girl was about to let out a sigh of relief before another sound assaulted her sensitive ears. The harsh caw of a Nevermore. Possibly two? More importantly though, she heard something that she thought would never grace her ears. Other students! "Finally some company! For a bit I thought I was the only one in this experimental team. Course then it wouldn't be much of a team then would it? Hehehe. Heh... Well, that's enough talking to myself for now!"
Wiping the sweat from her brow, she proceeded forward, eager to finally be with another person! Taking a solitary stroll through the Emerald Forest was nice and all, but the Grimm proved to be a bit of a nuisance. Taking off at a sprint, Livana was able to move surprisingly well for one that didn't have use of her eyes. The ground seemed to shake as she closed in on the sound of the fighting, something impacting the earth with tremendous force. It wasn't long before she discovered what this was, feathers. Not the fluffy and fun kind either. "Geez, how do Grimm manage to ruin everything? I mean seriously, feathers? That's like the fluffiest, least-threatening thing in the world." Even as she continued to speak Livana fund herself having to dodge the deadly projectiles, weaving around them in an impressive display of acrobatics before she sensed something. Aura. There looked to be about at least three distinct Auras around her in fact, and she could even hear a voice, a boy asking about ranged attacks. Ooh, seems like I arrived just in time!
Diving out of the way of another feather, Livana popped up next to one of the students. She was taken aback for a moment as her skin felt the kiss of mist on it, but there was little time to worry about that. "I think I can fill the ranged dps role for you." She stated with an air of casualness before dipping her brush into a whitish blue before whipping the paint up towards the Nevermore's, the Dust triggering and forming into vicious shards of ice.
"See, it's not fun to have pointy stuff flung at you is it!? Stupid overgrown pigeons."
As the Deathstalker fell to the ground Joshua was still in control, but his iris' were still blood red evident of something other than Shield Construction.
Well done Joshua, however you still have two Nevermores to contend with. Joshua agreed with this mysterious voice and turned to Heilig, "Our Job isn't done, we need to go help them however we can!" He jumped off the Deathstalker's corpse and ran at a faster speed than normal over to the group that was forming. He then switched Occam's razor into its' rifle form and watched as someone asked about ranged attacks, and a girl took out, ~Is that a paintbrush? What good is a paintbrush going to-~ the paintbrush then laughed dust at the Nevermores causing him to say a very muted, "Oh." Joshua then continued. "Agreed, we need to draw their fire and send in someone to save the princess."
