Chaos In Hoenn

Elysium

Nuts
Alright, I'm going to write a few basic rules for characters here, and then post both the character list and character sheet. Any type of character is feasible, as is any non-legendary pokemon. This means you can play as a gym leader, a brand new trainer, or even the champion of a region, or a person of equivalent power and skill in the WPF or Team Rocket, such as an admin or a grunt. Likewise, with this world being darker and grittier than Ash Ketchum's cheery adventures, even character's not affiliated with Rocket can be evil, or a Rocket grunt could actually be a good-hearted person forced into slavery as a prisoner of war.

There are no real levels to the pokemon, per se, in this rp. Instead, the amount of badges, or the status of elite-four or champion, or the equivalent with WPF or Rocket, will give the general power level of the pokemon. I will allow some flexibility with trainers who aren't in the four or the champions, but be reasonable. A trainer with only one badge isn't going to have six pokemon who are all fully evolved, he/she/it would be lucky to have six pokemon period (those who've played the games know how true that statement is, especially if you're picky about team pokemon, like myself).

Furthermore, they can be from any region, be any age over 13, and can have pokemon from any region, again, as long as they aren't legendary and are reasonable for the trainer's relative skill level. Likewise, they can have badges from a different nation, and can be from any nation as well, and are just in Hoenn for various reasons.

What this all boils down to is be your own worst enemy. I reward good writing and thought out debate, not petty arguments and poor proofreading. If you need to convince yourself that something's allowed, it's most likely not. And like any good GM, I'm always willing to render final, fair judgement. With all that said, have fun with your characters.

Also, before starting your characters, read my rules, please. I'm picky about my rules. It's all basic stuff, as well as personal things that I use to keep my threads tidy.

- - - - -

There are four groups to this RP. They are; The Unaffiliated, The Pokemon League, The World Pokemon Federation, and Team Rocket. Each of these groups is treated differently by NPCs and the other groups, as well as having the obvious benefits of each group. Also, please note that some of these lists are non-exhaustive, at least to an extent. I'm not going to put every slot for every elite four member in the world here, at least not until all of them are taken up. Some are, however. There will only be six champions max, only one director of the WPF, and only two Rocket Admins left. Team Rocket will only start with five members, but they could gain more as the RP goes on.

Questions? Answers.

The Unaffiliated

The Unaffiliated are trainers who aren't part of anything larger, at least not yet. Whether a rookie trainer leaving home for the first time on his pokemon adventure, or an Ace Trainer out getting his final badge before challenging the pokemon league, Unaffiliated are just out to see the world, and fulfill their goals, with little to no other responsibilities

The easiest definition for them would be the Pokemon Police. After the war, they were the only law that was really left, and even though the world has gone back to it's former peace, the WPF just stayed together, continuing their quest for peace, as well as the ultimate the destruction of Team Rocket.

Artemis Doucard, Champion of Sinnoh

(Rebuild a WIP)

Region of Origin Johto

Age 25

Group The Pokémon League, Champion of Sinnoh

World Pokémon Federation, Honorary Captain

Personality

Artemis is a poster child for damaged souls. When he started his journey, he was a happy go lucky pubescent boy. Ten years of nightmares, violence, revenge, and isolation after the war, along with the horrors during, have torn down that carefree child and left a haunted, broken man.

(unfinished)

Biography

As a child, Artemis grew up on the fringes of war. While it had not started until he was eight, rumors, rumblings, and the constant in and out of his father, World Champion and Field General Alaric Doucard, gave that boy that dream of being a soldier, fighting alongside his father. Constantly told he needed to be much more powerful to even be considered, Alaric left home secretly, armed with nothing but his pet Torchic and an egg, Artemis started his journey to mastery at the tender age of ten, in a war torn Sinnoh (as a soldier's child, home was everywhere).

Hampered constantly by war and destruction, it took Artemis five long years to gather the eight badges and reach the pokemon league. Along the way, further slowing him down, was his behind the scenes aiding of the war effort. But finally, finally, he was strong enough, in his overpowered father's eyes, to join the war effort.

And that's where it all went to hell for the still mostly childish dreamer, head full of heroic ideas of battle and glory.

(unfinished)

Pokemon

Blaziken

Spiritomb

Garchomp

Scizor

Carracosta

Togekiss

Specialty Dual Types

Tactics Relentless, ruthless and occasionally reckless assault, giving his foes little room to breathe, while keeping all of his bases covered. Artemis and his pokemon have learned to use and shape any battlefield, as well as a wide array of physical, special, and status moves, to create and respond to an incredible variety of situations.

Dream

Artemis just wants freedom from the nightmares of his past, and to carry on his father's legacy of reuniting this broken world

Name: Adam Trams

Region of Origin: Kanto

Age: 21

Group: Unaffiliated

Personality: Adam is friendly, polite, and mature. He has a couple vices but keeps them discrete. Now that he is away from home for the first time he is concentrating on taking it easy and going with the flow for a change.

Biography: Adam grew up in Viridian City. At the age of 12 he expected to receive a pokemon from the professor in Pallet Town. His parents had been fighting more then usual recently and Adam was ready to leave home...His father left them first taking all the money. All Adam's mother would say was that he was going to join his old team. Adam had little choice but to stay at home an help raise his younger siblings.

Adam got a job as a lumber jack and carpenter, chopping down much of Viridian Forest in order to expand the city. He saved what little money he could, more each year as his brothers and sisters left to start pokemon adventures of their own. Finally when only two kids were left at home Adams mother insisted that he leave saying he had done enough. Adam got a pokemom from the professor in Pallet town and was on his way!

He had hoped to catch up to his younger brothers and sisters who were on their way to the Indigo Plateau, but something went wrong. After boarding the S.S. Anne he found himself giving a back rub to a vomiting captain (For some reason this spurred déjà vu). The captain was so thankful that he gave Adam a TM containing cut and offered to buy him a drink at the ships bar. How could he refuse? Before he knew it the ship had honked it's horn and set sail for Lilycove, Hoenn.

@Iak Destler I can't accept that, with all of the spelling and grammar issues. And you really need to ask people before you include their characters in your plans.

Is the picture required? Because right now I am on my phone and currently do not have access to a computer.

@GOAT You can always throw one up later, when you do have a computer. Just put a description of his/her looks under hiders for now.

Name:

Renolds Reevine

Region of Origin:

Hoenn

Age:

22

Group:

The World Pokémon Federation: Captain

Personality:

Renolds is passionate and serious about his work. He doesn't like to fool around or take matters lightly while on the job. Some say that he can be too extreme when it comes to being strict with deputies, but his intentions are to merely get them ready for any occasion that they might face. Punctuality and respect are his main ideals as he cannot stand nor accept tardiness and rudeness. As no one is perfect, Renolds has one defect which is being disorganized.

Outside of work, however, Renolds leads a calmer and lenient lifestyle. It is like having a change of heart once he leaves his work building. He holds a smile more often on his face and dresses casual. Although, he is always on watch for suspicious activity while outside of work.

Biography:

Renolds was born in Mossdeep city. He lived a fairly decent childhood. He was a child in the middle class raised to live up to standards set up by the respected people around him. He wasn't very fond of Pokémon in his early youth, but his mind changed around age 8. As a gift for his birthday, his parents took him on a long ride to capture a Pokémon suitable for Renolds.

Throughout the journey, Renolds chose Pokémon that many kids would not dare to think about. This worried his parents, so they decided to direct him towards Pokémon more suited for children, like Growlithe or Buneary. At the same time, Renolds would not agree with the parents' Pokémon decisions. After a while more of searching, they finally found the perfect one. A Ralts. Renolds knew that they had to catch it. Once caught, the two, Renolds and Ralts, bonded quickly and became great friends.

During the war, Renolds was at an age where he could understand the actions occuring. He despised Team Rocket for the stuff that they were doing. The lack of respect for authority and ignorance for the well being of others that the group inherited disgusted Renolds.

The war ended by age 12. He trained hard alongside ralts to be able to protect the people he cared about in case anybody were to try to cause harm. By age 18, his Ralts had evolved into a Kirlia, then a Gardevoir. He also enlisted in The World Pokémon Federation. He excelled in all tasks that were handed to him and quickly rose up in rank. By age 20, he was promoted to Captain. He mainly focused on trying to keep cities safe by implementing new technology to prevent mischievous activity. He somehow understood how a person's mind worked, which is explained by why he specializes in Psychic, Dark, and Ghost Type Pokémon.

Pokemon:

-Gardevoir

-Crawdaunt

-Haunter

-Metang

-Murkrow

Specialty:

Psychic Type, Dark Type, and Ghost Type

Tactical Overview:

Name - Jayla Kincaid

Region of Origin - Unova

Age - 19

Group - World Pokemon Federation, Deputy

Personality - Jayla is a bit of a dreamer. She can get caught up thinking about the future and lose sight of what is happening in the now. Punctuality is not her strong suit but she is an exceptionally hard worker thanks to her working class background. She’s exceedingly optimistic and believes that all of life’s problems can be solved with a bit of elbow grease and dedication. She has little patience for people who do not try to solve their own problems and instead rely on others.

Biography
- Jayla grew up in Driftveil, Unova. She and her two older brothers were raised by her father who worked the shipyards. Her mother was recruited by the WPF when Jayla was still a baby, to help fight Team Rocket. She never returned.

Growing up in a port city Jayla met people from all over the world. She loved hearing tales of far off regions that had pokemon she had never seen before, places where humans and nature lived in balance unlike in Unova. She dreamed of visiting Hoenn, with its crystal clear oceans, and the icy topped mountains of Sinnoh.

By the time the war ended, Jayla’s brothers were working in the mines and her father had become a warehouse supervisor after hurting his back at the shipyard. Jayla saw nothing but a life of manual labor, stuck in Driftveil for the rest of her life until she found her mother’s diary. She had written about the recruiters and her desire to help a world torn apart by chaos. Jayla, who had never know anything but the turbulent world at war, was inspired by her mother’s words to build a better world. She began training so that she could join the WPF just like her mother.

She joined the World Pokemon Federation at 18. For the past year she has worked on several rebuilding projects in Unova. Her latest assignment is in Hoenn where she has been doing damage assessments and keeping an eye out for possible criminal activity.

Pokemon - Dwebble, Boldore, Vullaby

Specialty - Rock type, but she likes any sturdy pokemon

Tactical Overview - A good defense is the best offense

Dream - Jayla wants to follow in her mother’s footsteps and make the world a safer place for everyone.

(Please let me know if there are any changes needed)

Name: Romulus Umbra

Region of Origin: hoenn

Age: 19

Group: Team Rocket Executive

Personality: Romulus enjoys to keep himself a mystery, and will usually "forget" to tell people he is part of team rocket. Even being a high ranking Rocket member, he isn't actually a bad guy, he just enjoys action. He is very cocky in battle, and will continue to be so even if he loses the battle. He truly cares about people and pokemon.

Biography:

Romulus was born in Hoenn, and his father was a part of the Federation, causing them to move as he got transferred. At age 7 he moved to Kanto where he began his pokemon journey starting with a his partner, growlithe. Eventually, when he was 12 his family moved to Kalos where he spent the next 4 years. He challenged the gyms of Kalos looking for adventure but decided that it was too boring.

He moved back to Hoenn on his own at age 16, in search of excitement, and made friends with members of team rocket. Being on his own, he didn't have much money and quickly got into crime, often at the aid of his friends from Team Rocket. He quickly became known amongst both Team Rocket grunts and members of the Federation.

After impressing one of the higher ups in Rocket in a battle against a well-known Federation member, he was persuaded to join Team Rocket. He joined, mainly because he found it amusingly ironic that someone from a Federation background was being invited to join Team Rocket.

In Team Rocket he found the thrill he was seeking, and at the age 18, rose to the rank of Executive.

He often wanders around the Hoenn region looking for interesting people, and tough battles. He never tells anyone that he is in Team Rocket in order to keep from ruining first impressions, and will usually only tell if he is recognized.

Pokemon:

Arcanine (partner)

Houndoom

Noivern

Luxray

Metagross

Barbaracle

Specialty: none apparent, pretty well rounded and dual typed team

Tactical overview: Trains in primarily attack, then speed (exception being the later two) using status effects when possible.

Dream: At first it was just to be around the chaos, but after becoming an executive he decided he wants to get out of possible, and start his own group. Not for trouble, but to seek out strong trainers.

Name: Maria Darrow

Region of Origin: Sinnoh (birth to age 10), Unova (age 10+)

Age: 25

Group: Team Rocket (Executive)

Personality:

Naughty secretary, demure housewife, laid-back "cool girl" - she can be anything you want her to be... As long as she has a use for you. Unfortunately, she tends to become a lot less accomodating once she's done with you. When she's not putting on a specific act, she still exudes the effortless charm and social graces of a well-practiced sociopath; even her Pokemon team is disarmingly un-Rocket-like. Don't assume "sociopath" means aggressive or angry or vengeful, though. While she does keep score, she makes sure any score-settling fits neatly into her bigger plans, and will never act out of hasty emotion (unless she's pretending). She will even help those she doesn't care about, which is everyone. In fact, she doesn't even care that much about herself. Her fundamental motivation is the amusement she obtains from psychologically manipulating people and Pokemon, with the side perk of material benefits.

Biography:

Born in Veilstone City to a ne'er-do-well dad and disinherited ex-millionaire mom with ambitions far bigger than their intellects and abilities, Maria somehow managed to inherit one of her grandparents' brains and talent. She needed those to fend for herself even as a young girl, since her parents' schemes often went awry and left the family even poorer than before and/or on the run from the law, especially after her father joined Team Rocket when she was just 7 years old.

Growing up with criminal activity always on the periphery of her life, she quickly became even more wily and ruthless, to the point where her own mother suspected - but could never confirm - that she had a hand in her father's demise after a botched mission. This happened when she was 10, after which her mother moved with her to an impoverished district of Unova's Castelia City. Team Rocket was of course well-established within Unova by that time, and still looked like the family's best shot at wealth and power, so Maria's mother joined up as well, but never managed to make it beyond the level of a grunt either.

Disgusted with her incompetent parents, she joined Team Rocket herself when she was 14, but her stint was to only last a year before the team's defeat at the end of the Great War. She survived by betraying her teammates, using her tender age to convince the WPF that she'd been tricked into joining and coerced into staying (perhaps throwing in a few sexual abuse allegations as well). The WPF let her off scot-free and even helped feed/house/generally "rehabilitate" her in exchange for her help with rebuilding after the war.

Never one to play goody-two-shoes without an ulterior motive, Maria slowly but surely made all the right friends in all the right places, and has by now amassed a formidable amount of wealth and influence. She is one of the WPF's main financial backers, and also acts as a civilian liaison for the WPF from time to time. Meanwhile, only a handful of Rocket remnants know her true affiliations, and all are smart enough to know that any attempt to rat her out will backfire brutally. As for why she has never attempted to climb to the very top of the Rocket ranks, well, that's her little secret.

Pokemon: Cinccino, Mawile, Azumarill, Altaria, Chatot

Specialty: Fairy-types with a side of birds

Tactical Overview: Mind games, double battles (yes, with an odd-numbered team)

Dream:

If you can even call it a dream, she wishes to squeeze every last drop of self-benefit she can get from the world, and die a satisfying death on her own terms once the world has nothing left to offer her.

Apologies! I meant to write on there that that I would extend it, due to the fact that I was on mobile when I wrote it! Is what I have now better? ^^

Name: Leo Brannigan

Region of Origin: Unova

Age: 23

Group: Unaffiliated

Personality: Hasty and unrefined at his best, tense and defensive at his worst, Leo is an immature young adult who wants nothing more than to run away from things that cause him stress. While he may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, he is smart enough to know that he's not very bright. Compared to his powerful parents, and intelligent brothers, Leo is a failure and he knows it. He's got a deep inferiority complex that fuels much of his actions. He wants to be a good person, and when he's relaxed, he can be. Leo will try to do what he knows is right, but more often than not he will end up choosing the path of least resistance. He wants to get better at being independent.

Biography: There is always a profiter in war, and it happened to be his family's good fortune that it was them. Whereas many lives and livelihoods were lost in the overseas war against the Rockets, Leo's family, owners and head operators of the Brannigan Group, flourished. Their company had been a manufacturer of specialty healing items for many years, but when they began to grow synthetic ingredients to drive costs down, their business really took off. Shiploads of supplies were exported to the war effort in Hoenn, and the Brannigans soon became quite wealthy and powerful both in Unova and abroad.

The children of the Brannigans were no less successful. While one was set to inherit the company, and the other was leading the forefront on new scientific research for the company, Leo was... not really doing anything of value. He was not as smart, or skilled, or even as ambitious as his brothers, and everyone in the family was aware of it. He had never bothered to go on a pokémon journey as a child, when he was comfortable enough at home. But since his adulthood (and more than a few occasions of his family acknowledging his subpar achievements,) he had started dreaming of his own independence.

The tipping point came when he realized the truth about how his family was running their company. Bodyguards became hired hitmen, more business deals were written under tables than upon them, and Leo, in what was perhaps his first real step into adulthood, decided that he would not be a part of the corruption he was witnessing (and with no attempt to even hide their wrongdoings, he was sure that remorse was nowhere to be found.)

He mustered every ounce of naïve courage within him, and ran away from his life. He bleached his hair, took on a new name, hopped on a boat to Hoenn, and hoped beyond hope that he would never have to see Castelia's ports again.

Pokemon: Pikachu, Magikarp, Scyther, Frogadier

Specialty: Whatever he can manage to catch

Tactical Overview: Tac...tics...? What tactics?

Dream: To live a carefree life, free of his family and the pressures they bring with them.

Appearance: Keith is about 6'2" with shaggy brown hair, the ends at a slight curl. He has green eyes, his nose is risen a bit in the middle. He has a wide, strong looking jaw, with a not-so-straight but not-so-crooked smile.

He is built with a bit of muscle, he has a strong back and shoulders, whole showing more in his arms, and jut more of flat stomach.

He prefers jeans with his cowboy boots, a white undershirt with an open blue flannel button up shirt. He is known to occasionally wear a trucker style cap as well.

Keith has a scars and marks. With one scar above his left eye, one on his right cheek, and another running down his bicep to his forearm.

(Don't think I'll be near an computer sometime soon. Hope this is enough, let me know.)

Name: Keith Parham

Region of Origin: Sinnoh

Age: 17

Group: Unaffiliated

Personality: Keith is more of a quiet but hardworking type, but overall a nice guy, he prefers the peace of the country over the noise of a city and any problem going on, he is usually sitting back and thinking about what's going on and some type of plan. He is very mature for his age of 17. He knows when to keep out of business that isn't his, but can and will butt in if it involves a friend. A lover of pokemon, he treats all pokemon with and trainers alike with respect, he is known to help anyone that truly needs it, but doesn't mind telling you what's on his mind. Keith does like to have fun when he isn't working or thinking of new strategies for his pokemon. He will most likely joke around and play tricks on his friends, but if it is a stranger, he'll greet them with a warming and welcoming smile and handshake.

Biography: Growing up in Canalave city, Keith never really enjoyed his childhood. In fact he would always spend his days out on the routes making friends with the wild pokemon there. Living close by the gym, who's leader was Byron, Keith grew to be amazed by the Steel type pokemon that came with the gym Leader. He always fantasized about obtaining his own, but his parents could never find him the right pokemon.

One day, on Keith's 14th birthday, as Keith was just waking up, his father came in announcing they were leaving on a trip and to begin packing. Keith had no idea where they were going until later announced on the ferry's PA system that the destination of choice was Hoenn. Keith was excited until a select few members started causing trouble.

The few individuals stood up and announced they were apart of an organization by the name of "Team Rocket." Keith had never heard of anyone like this. They took control of the ferry and changed direction. Keith's father was very angry, and immediately jumped at the first chance he could, he took out his pokemon and started battling the team. In the midst of one battle, a black helicopter with a huge "R" on the side came down and picked up the evil organization members. Along Keith's father. They had kidnapped him and left Keith with jut his mother.

When arriving to Hoenn, they immediately went to the police, but nothing could've been done. They went along to their resort, mourning the missing presence of Keith's father. Keith decided to go for a walk outside around the resort to clear his mind. As walking down the beach, Keith came up on a cave, and of course, curiosity set in, and Keith went exploring. He saw many new Pokemon, but most were little and shy. Then as Keith was about to leave, he spotted a pokemon that he just had to have. Later analysis showed the pokemon was an Aron. Keith pulled out all of his food but it wouldn't eat. As he was about to give up he pulled out his lucky medal. A metal emblem, a replica of the Sinnoh league emblem. As soon as he did the Aron snapped it up and swallowed it down in a matter of seconds. This was how Keith decided he would recruit his first pokemon.

Over the next few days, Keith spent all his time focusing on the Aron. Just before the last day, he went and asked his mom for a pokeball, baffled at first, but she didn't argue. Keith then went with more iron made objects as Keith came to learn was the Aron's favorite. That's where Keith caught his first pokemon. Shortly returning home, Keith learned there had been a war going on involving Team Rocket. He was infuriated.

Over the next few years Keith had challenged all the gym leaders, and elite four in Sinnoh. He was determined to become stronger to find who took his father. He set his eyes on Hoenn as his next adventure and with his few pokemon, he took off.

@Dragonblade, @GOAT - Accepted. With this many characters, I'll probably start it tomorrow afternoon. Sorry it's been taking so long, school's picking up for finals.

I should probably mention I won't have constant internet access between the 18th and the 7th, since I'm going back hime for the holidays. I'm hopefully getting phone from this era for christmas, but if I don't I may have a three week semi-hiatus on my hands.

@Elysium okay thanks! I think I'm almost out of data for my phone, so if I run out, I'll find a way to post, but just not as active as if like to be.

(Sorry if it seems a bit rushed, I was in a hurry when I made it. Feel free to point out errors or suggest edits. I'm also afraid I can't provide a picture.)

Name: Grey

Region of Origin: Sinnoh

Age: 25

Group: Unaffiliated

Personality: Warm and caring, for people and pokemon. Never really one to judge, however, he has a strong sense of justice. His sadness about the loss of most of his pokemon is hidden very well by his kind demeanor and his sense of humor.

Biography: Born in the Sinnoh region, growing up under a strict gym leader father. His father, specializing in Bug Type Pokemon, however had many types, was called into the war as a stealth soldier. To cope with his father being gone, he decided to compete in the Pokemon League Challenge. He was gifted a Chimchar from the Professor on the promise he'd avidly help with research. He went throughout the region and eventually completed the gym challenge, having a full team of six. Around when he took on the Elite Four was when he heard that his Father was one of the final casualties in the war. This threw him into a depression. When he received notification of his father's death he also received two pokeballs. One with his father's main pokemon, his Scizor, and another with a new pokemon. An Elekid with one of the plugs on its head cut away. He reserved two spots on his team for these pokemon, then took on the Four. He was doing relatively well until he reached Synthia, who threw him for a loop and beat him. After this Grey put his pokemon in the PC and decided to travel to Hoenn, taking the Scizor, Infernape, and Elekid with him...

Pokemon: Infernape, Scizor, and Elekid.

Specialty Specializes in close combat.

Tactical Overview: Have Infernape or Scizor rush down the opponent or have Elekid throw electric ranged attacks

Appearance: Tall, with long brown hair, pulled back in a pony tail that hangs down his back. He also has some stubble on his chin, giving him a slightly older appearance. He has a relatively normal build, however is slightly muscular. He is often seen wearing a long red coat to protect him from the cold. Underneath is a standard white T-shirt. He is often seen wearing either sweat pants or standard blue jeans.
