Well then, you can just BITE ME

It was quite, dark, a chill ran through the air. It was always like this here, in the castle where only the very rich live, or the very poor serve. The cold black metal covered the castle, the rest made of stone and wood. It was always cold, where the sun was rarely seen. Yes, it was true vampires didn't die in the light of day, but they did prefer it dark, their eyes being sensitive to daylight as they were designed to see in the dark.

Deathwish stood peering out of the window of his room. It wasn't unusual for a vampire to have a window, they after all did like to watch the night and keep tract of time since the rest of the castle was so dark. Deathwish narrowed his eyes as he turned, hearing footsteps approaching. His aura was released, a aura of death, of danger. It was an aura that Deathwish alone carried, a trait very unique to him. He didn't bother to turn around when the big metal door was opened.

Deathwish's room was small, he didn't feel the need to have anything more then what was necessary. He had a bed with sheets of black and blue, weapons lined the walls. He had one bookshelf small enough to use as a stand by his bed. He also had his violin in a lone corner across the room. In the middle of the floor was a circle of candles where he meditated in order to keep his stoic composure.

Nick entered the room, his usual chirpy attitude in full swing, that charming smile he always used. He shoved his hands into his pockets. "Yo!" Nick sang as he approached his serious and cold brother. "Come on out already, dad's away with business and we have the castle to ourselves!" He spread his hands wide with a brilliant smile.

Deathwish nodded, his stoic face and cold, dark purple eyes moved to examine his brother. Nick was always happy, something that Deathwish had become accustomed to, even something he craved to have around. Though Deathwish would never say that, but he knew Nick understood it, even without words the twins knew what each other was thinking. "Hn.."

"Don't make me call Alice and drag your butt out of this room." Nick said pointing his thumb over his shoulder at the door. Deathwish merely blinked and tilted his head, knowing full well neither Nick, nor Alice could get him anywhere if he didn't want to go. Still to humor his brother he moved silently to the door. Alice should be up by now, both twins knew she would probably seek them out soon. Alice, after all was safer with them then with anyone else.

The sound of an alarm could be heard throughout her small room. It was tiny yet it had the space to just move around in despite it being rather compact. Some said that it looked like a closet but it was better than some other slaves had to live in. They had to share a room and a bathroom which was hard as they were usually with four in there. If one was occupying the bathroom and four others were in a really urgent matter, things could go nasty if they did not think about another solution. Some came to the girl called Alice since they knew that she was not going to be egocentric about everything, it was just not in her nature for doing so.

With a groan, she stood up. However she could feel the energy building up again since she had finally slept for about seven hours in total after such a long time. She really needed it as it maybe had been over a week since she had slept this long. She stretched out her arms and yawned at the same time, looking around in a daze as she smacked her mouth a little as her lips were drying out lightly. However she got out of her bed and took her clothes out of the tiny closet and walked to her mini-sized bathroom. Indeed, it was fit for only one person to get into, more than that would cramp up the space entirely.

It only took a few minutes before she was ready and walked out of her bedroom, locking the door automatically as she did not feel like allowing other slaves to sneak in there and steal her stuff. She had been through that once so she had learned from it and became smarter as well. She was not exactly what people would call stupid. She made her way towards the kitchen as she was waking up as well and greeted some colleagues along the way.

Once she reached the kitchen, she started to take out some bread and strawberry jam. She really loved strawberries so it was her favorite kind of jam. Though she preferred them in a whole and freshly plucked. Those were the best of all in her opinion. The corners of her mouth turned upwards as she was making her sandwich and sat down at the table so she could eat it in peace.

The human cooks started to enter the kitchen as well as they had to prepare the food for the vampires so they were not going to go on a rampage which would be a true catastrophe. Not a pretty sight at all if she had to admit it. While exchanging some words, she ate up her food so she was not going to fall over because of the lack of energy that she could have if she did not eat regularly.

Deathwish and Nick were already making rounds about the castle. Since it was rare for their father to actually leave the castle, the twins took pleasure to freely move around for once. Since it would be about a week until he got back, they planned on making the best of it. Still though, the castle was plenty dangerous without their father.

Deathwish watched as humans scramble to get their chores done before more vampires started to roam the hall. As Deathwish past, many of the humans shook in fear of his aura. Deathwish of course didn’t bat an eye at it. He slowly moved, his back straight, his shoulders back, and his arms behind his back with his wrists crossed. He kept his face perfectly emotionless, which only made the humans around him more nervous, as if they didn’t know how to act if they didn’t know what you were feeling. Perhaps it was more terrifying to them if he felt like killing them and struck out without any outward signs of it; yes perhaps that was what terrified them so.

Nick on the other hand usually put the human’s at ease. They felt safe around him, his flirtatious behavior and laid back attitude brought them some sort of normality that they only would receive if they weren’t surrounded by vampires. Nick of course winked at the woman, and waved at the men as they walked past. As usual Nick stepped behind Deathwish, easing everyone after Deathwish had already past.

Nick noticed where they were going, the kitchen. Deathwish liked to eat alone, if was rare for Deathwish to actually attend any meals with other family members. While it was still considered highly rude and unbecoming of a prince, Deathwish ignored the rule and no one dared to stop him either.

Nick of course was the first to walk in. “Good morning all!” He said as he waved his hand. “I hope you all are doing well.” He said with a charming smile. He winked at a female cook and turned to see Alice eating her breakfast. “Ahh the lovely Alice, Deathwish and I were just talking about you.” He said as he bent over to rest his arms on the table she sat at.

The room instantly seemed to fall several degrees lower as Deathwish entered the room. The chilling effect of his presence didn’t seem to faze Nick but the other humans in the room felt the cold.

One of the cooks decided to take one for the team, as it were, and approached Deathwish. She kept her eyes straight on the ground as she spoke. “I-is there something you need Prince?”

“Hn.” Deathwish walked right past her and opened up the fridge pulling out a piece of raw meat. While vampires did eat normal food it was a sort of habit more than nourishment. Deathwish usually had raw meat in the morning for nourishment, he rarely ate as it was. He turned to Nick who waved him off, Nick had already had something to eat. Deathwish raised an eyebrow at this.

Nick was not what you call a morning person. In fact Nick hated mornings and usually walked around half asleep for long periods of time until he finally woke up. So for Nick to have already eaten this early in the morning was rare, however Deathwish pushed it off as Nick being excited Scorn was gone.

Deathwish sat down and ate his chosen meal, his fangs snapped out, and the sound making a few humans cringe. It was an automatic response to eating, much like the production of saliva when food enters the mouth of humans. Deathwish couldn’t prevent it, even though it certainly was an uncomfortable sound for humans.

As the door of the kitchen opened, she lifted her eyes up a little only to see the two brothers entering the room. Not knowing why they had come here in the first place but she guessed that they were just hungry and were craving for some food. Nodding towards Nick as he greeted her the way he always did. She did not think much about it since he did this to everyone and she became accustomed to it after a while of working at this place.

A cook was seemingly startled because of the presence of the two vampires. Well, that was completely understandable since nobody really expected one of them to stroll inside of here in the first place. But then again, they were not the usual beings either. It surprised her though that Deathwish went along this time.

She nibbled further on her self-made sandwich as she watched the brothers vaguely, she was more worried about one of the humans fainting on the spot and leaving them all vulnerable on the floor. It was going to be chaotic as well if they were to crash into something and receive a wound on their body. It was already bad enough that the place was full of vampires and she did not want all of them storming inside of the room at once.

Her mouth stopped moving however when she heard the fangs of Deathwish snapping out, making a cold shudder run through her body as that was the one thing that she could not become accustomed to at all. No matter how much she tried, it was to no avail. But it did not stop her from eating completely as it was not like she was in a situation of life and death at the moment. And she actually wanted to keep it that way.

Once she finished her food, she brought her plate to the sink and gave a reassuring smile to the cooks who were not that comfortable with vampires in their kitchen.
”It’s quite unusual for you to be up this early, princes.” Alice commented to the brothers as she helped cleaning the kitchen a little.

All it took was a blink of an eye and the bloody meat on Deathwish’s plate was gone. He looked up at Nick as he commented that he needed to feed. He could practically sense the uneasiness of the other humans at that comment. He raised an eyebrow at his brother and Nick smiled innocently and shrugged. Deathwish’s steely gaze moved from Nick and glanced over the other humans. Deathwish would have a word later to Nick on how he should be more careful of what he says in front of humans. Normally such language would be normal for Nick to say in front of the humans, but with Deathwish sitting right there it seemed more deadly and put them on edge…as if they could get more on edge.

Deathwish stood up and grabbed his plate, in an instant he was at the sink, placing the plate in the sink. The fast movement caused one of the cooks to jump back, slipping. Deathwish instantly caught her, his hand grabbing her wrist so she wouldn’t hit in on the counter. She became increasingly nervous as Deathwish’s cold purple eyes stared at her, no emotion passing through them. Sometimes. A vampire’s eyes can have an almost hypnotizing effect, some say Deathwish had such an effect, if it was from the terrier of seeing them or something else, they tended to freeze anyone who dared to look into them.

Deathwish tugged her arm, spinning her away from in and into another cook who caught her. He straightened up and put his arms behind his back, in the usual way with his wrists crossed. He moved to head out, he wouldn’t dare show it, but he thought he caused enough panic for the humans.

Nick of course stayed behind, watching his brother with a slight frown before he replaced it with a smile. “Ah, so do you have on today’s schedule my dear Alice?” He asked with a tilt of his head.
