Ginko The Mushishi
Traveling Mushi-Shi
Jacques: Butler of Cerberus Vale
He wasn't tired, but it looked like it on the old man, when Cordelia Zale arrived with Isaac. He was indeed shocked at her wanting to speak with Joseph personally. He looked at the time on his pocket watch yet again, it hit just past midnight. "Indeed, Master Cordelia. He is in his personal study, he was just with Master Riko a while after visting Soma." He decided to take Cordelia to Joseph's study, opening the door for her when she would arrive, to allow her inside. He would close the door very slowly, and after it had latched closed. He stood up to return to his chores. He would check up on Soma within the morning.
(I'm sorry Vagabond Spectre , forgive me for taking over your character at that bit there!!)
Soma: Mummy-Devil.
Finally, his dreams hit the most cherished of his memories. Starting with Cordelia Zale.
That was the last of Soma's memories, and the morning was slowly slipping into fruition.. The sun began to rise ever so slowly upon the horizon. Casting golden glows of light upon Soma's wakening body. He muttered a bit about how he felt like shit, and how he looked like he was ready for an early All-Hallows-Eve celebration.. What was for the most part, stuck in his mind. Was food. He was very hungry, and it took him quite a while to be able to move properly. By this time he had finally noticed Sayogoromo in the corner... "I always knew you had a fetish for watching mummified men rise." Soma delivered another lame joke. The usual old Soma.

Cordelia Zale
~
He remembered the first time he met her, Soma was a young boy still, he didn't think much of her, but he wasn't so sure about her upon first meeting. He specifically remembered her arriving onto the estate, and meeting Jacques first hand as he tended to the bushes outside. "Hello, old man. Little boy, I assume you both are the assumed "Hunters" of Cerberus Vale?" She spoke, with a childish grin that made Soma uneasy, he wasn't so sure since he hadn't met any other demons since Joseph that he could trust. "I'm unsure if you had figured it out, but I am a demon as well." Joseph had arrived on scene, noticing Cordelia. "Hello there young lady, I don't think a demon would be smart enough to come here in the evening to fight us, unless, you are deciding on joining the Cerberus Vale?" Joseph seemed so calm, Soma wondered why. Could he tell if the demon before them was nice? If so, Soma wondered when he'd be able to tell.. This was the beginning of a friendship for Soma, that lasted as long as the Cerberus Vale itself has been alive.
---------------------
Shifting a few years down the line when both were laying in the grassy fields overlooking the ocean that was behind the mansion, Soma finally decided to ask Cordelia a question, which yielded crazy results between both of them. "Why do you fight for the good of others?" Soma would ask, and Cordelia having stood up remembering the past and lightly losing composure, returned with a frightening speed to her normal cheery self, raised her hand to the air. "Because..Well..Every kid's dream is to be a hero of justice, right?!" She said with such energy. Honestly it made Soma himself energetic, he stood up, imitating Cordelia. "YEAH!! For JUSTICE!!" He laughed, sitting back down he told Cordelia the truth of why he helps others..
---------------------
"I know that the villagers knew I was a demon. I know they didn't like me. They were afraid if anything, but they still took care of me..They gave me food when I needed it, clothes when I was cold..They provided me with items to survive, but they never treated me with any ill will. Yeah, you could say the probably would have if I went into the village a lot and bothered them too much. But I was happy living on the outside of town. Doing my own thing. They were kind to me, at least that's what I believe. They just didn't want me in the village is all.
It was like a unspoken agreement really. When the village was attacked by demons, I stepped in to save the village from doom. Most if not all the villagers asked me why, why would I save them when they never truly showed me any love, or care. When they didn't want me around.. Well, I told them why. "Why not? You guys took care of me despite knowing what I am, that's why If I had to, I'd do it a thousand times over." And that's the truth. No matter what, if you show me kindness. I'm gonna repay it, always." Soma smiled, despite being unaware of the villagers never showing Soma any sort of love, he took what they did give him as kindness.
--------------------------
Cordelia watched Soma as he spoke, remembering about the true reason why she herself fought for the good of others. And the story that Soma gave to her, spurred her on to tell the truth as well. "Sounds nice. I, too, had met a good human. She taught me, about how there are people who do good things and people who do bad things. By not stopping those leading bad lives while you know can, would be the same as doing those bad things yourself. That’s why I keep doing what I have done."
-----------------------
The next memory he had of Cordelia, was a short one. But one he'd think was awesome nonetheless. The day she showed him her powers, doing tricks with the water in-front of a very pumped up and excited Soma. He was laughing, while Cordelia showed amusement to Soma's peculiar astonishment towards her powers. Soma was at heart, just a bundle of happiness that couldn't be broken.

Sayogoromo Seikatsu
~
The first memory Soma had of Sayogoromo was of their first introduction as well. But not only that, Soma was enamored by the flashy, styilish sheet that Sayogoromo wore. Soma thought it was a bed sheet, but when Sayogoromo corrected the boy, saying it was a Kimono, Soma's eyes lit up. An unusual name but one he thought was cool, it was a white one, with red bamboo being displayed down the length of the robe. Soma took notice of Sayogoromo's coughing, and thought he was sick.
When Soma inquired it to Joseph, Joseph did indeed say he was sick and came here to be safe. Soma decided that Sayogoromo was a good demon, and grabbed his hand. "I like you. Your Kee-mooo-no looks cool!" Sayogoromo blinked by the instant gravitation towards Soma. It seems as if it wasn't hard for him to get on his good side. Which was a plus on Sayogormo's part, considering he didn't seem to have to work for it then. He decided to smile in return to Soma's compliment and thanked him. Perhaps his stay at this mansion would be a lot more interesting than he thought..
-------------
The next memory was a simple one full of fun, Sayogoromo on his good days would be energetic, even outgoing on many occassions. And Soma was a rambunctous child full of adventure. Thus Sayogoromo was pulled into playing hide and seek, and even throwing a ball around with Soma for hours on end, sometimes even wondering how long the child would be able to last. If Sayogoromo's sickness flaired, Soma would help Sayogoromo return to his room, and leave him alone until he felt well enough the next day. To Soma, Sayogoromo was the closest figure to being a big brother to him. Despite Soma being the older demon, he retained a child's appearance. While Sayogoromo had to adapt and use his age to his advantage.
----------
Another memory was of Sayogoromo's room.. Soma had one day sneaked into Sayogoromo's room, and stared at the Kimono's that Sayogoromo kept neatly within the closet of his room. He would stare at them for hours depiciting the imagery found on each one and then leave. He didn't care about everything else in the room, to hell with all that. The Kimonos looked damn cool and one day he would ask Sayogoromo if he could wear one, maybe to a festival or something. But he was aware he was too small right now to wear them, maybe when he was bigger?

Jian Wu
~
Soma's relationship with Jian is an unusual one, and though he was still a child by the time Jian arrived, he finally learned from Joseph that he had been containing his demon energy so much that it wore down on his ability to mature into an adult. So he decided to start letting the energy out around the time Jian arrived, they both were children at the time, so connection would have been easy if it were not for Jian's past. One that Soma would not forget, nor to allow happen again. It seemed that Soma's antics as a young boy served to help Jian sometimes, and that was a great start for their friendship, but as they got older it seemed to turn into general annoyance when Soma did something stupid..Despite it being what he would do anyway.
-----------
Upon first meeting, Jian seemed to like Soma, until she found out the truth of his heritage. Soma had never felt rejection before, nor actual fear from humans because of what he was. Sure, the village were afraid but they never seemed to shy away from being able to give him what was necessary for survival. So when it came to Jian, it upset him greatly upon realizing someone would be afraid of what he was. It actually made him question if he were truly a good person or not. Joseph and Jacques were his guides to this, aiding him in finding out he wasn't a blood-thirsty demon like Jian had witnessed, but she was indeed afraid of them because of what she experienced. Soma's slight depression quickly left him after that small talk from his mentors.
------------
That's why Soma began to observe Jian, and would watch her every-day to see what she was like without having to scare her so much. He would figure out the whole story of her past, and actually feel sadness for her as well. He never knew his real parents, but he bet that if he had lost them he would be upset too, and he felt as if that was enough to form a sort of bond between them from afar. Jian would slowly warm up to Soma though, and that made him happy. No need to spy on her anymore, now they could just play and grow up together actually. By the time they were teenagers, Soma had Jian down by the book, and would usually be able to tell when she got annoyed with his antics...Which he'd make worse by just continuing them. As they grew up together. Soma made a solemn promise, a vow to Jian without her being aware, one he made to himself personally. "If I ever see that demon, I will punch him with all my might, and make sure he never again causes Jian harm. I promise."
--------
Soma's memories shifted to the best stupid thing he could ever say and do, and one that made Jian die laughing when they were younger. Soma had decided to take a dog home with him after a mission in the night. Keeping the dog away from Jacques and Joseph, and the other members of the family. He shaved the dog's matted hair all off, until it was completely naked. Afterwards, he decided to glue long pieces of grass all over the dog's body. Letting it scurry free away from the mansion. When everyone had spotted this, they yelled at Soma in disbelief...Did he actually do that? In Soma's defense. He said "The dog looked ugly, I just gave him a haircut, but then I noticed he had no hair so I had to give him new hair. He's all clean now though!"....That was probably Jian's funniest moment, as she couldn't stop laughing for an hour.

Isaac Fowler
~
Isaac Fowler was the most recent friend he had ever made, and the one he considered the true rival of his life. A friend, a rival, a brother. All in one. The first day they met, it was like destiny. Soma had already become an adult by the time they met, and Isaac was suffering from the possession that took hold of him. Soma was unsure of how to help him, so he dedicated some time of his nights reading about how he could help Isaac, how to fix possession or how to beat it even. Soma had been searching for a long time until recently, he wanted to make it a surprise for Isaac, for his Ceremonial Hunter's Initiation to beat this possession that took hold of him.
---------------
The frivals would always be as some consider it best, supportive of one another's climb to getting stronger. Soma sees Isaac as his equal, and nothing else. Much like he does with everyone in the family, he sees himself as equal to all his friends. But for Isaac, it is in terms of how they both strive to become stronger and serve the family. Soma would take a bullet for this man, and he hopes the same could be said for Isaac despite his possession.
-------------
Isaac Fowler..One memory that pierces through better than all the rest is the first mission Soma had with him. Still in his beginning stages of training, Isaac wasn't as good at fighting demon's like Soma. So Soma decided to personally teach Isaac how it is on the battlefield. Throwing him a wooden sword, and taking one into his own hands. Soma declared to Isaac "I'm going to beat the shit outta you until you know how it works. I'm a Devil, you're but a simple man. But stop thinking about the gaps on the bridge and think about how you're gonna kick their ass." That declaration would become a success, it took hours, but Isaac's confidence in himself boosted when he was able to learn a great deal of how to fight against the supernatural. Bruised heavily, both men set out on Isaac's first mission together..And it was a god damn success.
