Realistic or Modern cause baby, you're dead to me // group interest check

sugarpills

tell me that you're more than a sick fascination
Everyone knew Sadie Callahan. She was captain of the cheerleading squad, student council president, and all in all, a mega bitch to those who crossed her. When Sadie disappears, everyone becomes a suspect: from her clique of friends, to the people who despised her, and everyone in between. On top of this, soon after Sadie went missing, an anonymous blog by the name of Tattletale starts spreading secrets that the students of Coolidge High thought were safe. Who's behind this blog? And where did Sadie disappear to? All will be revealed in time.

Hello everyone! I'm not really good at coding, but here goes. This is my second attempt at a group roleplay based off of Pretty Little Liars with a touch of Gossip Girl thrown in. I'm just posting this to see if anyone would be interested in starting this with me.

Here's some more background information:
- There will be five spots open for Sadie's "posse", the girls who were closest to her. They have secrets that Sadie (and now Tattletale) know about and will blackmail them with.
  1. The Athlete (TAKEN)
This girl has always competed to be the best on the sports team that she is on. Her sport (up to you to decide) is her life.
  2. The Brains (TAKEN)
This girl is all academics, all the time. Her parents put a lot of pressure on her to succeed.
  3. The Musician
Music is everything to this girl.
  4. The Newbie
This girl was the last girl that Sadie took under her wing before disappearing.
  5. The Sweetheart (TAKEN)
This girl, unlike Sadie, is kind and caring.
- You can make other characters. The main five girls will need love interests, for example. We need characters who held grudges against Sadie, people who Sadie despised, etc., etc.
- I'd like to bring the actual rp over to discord if everyone is on board with it.

This is just a basic interest check. If anyone has any questions/is interested, comment below!

I would def be interested! I'd love to play the athlete, but I'd want to pick roller derby as the sport?
I'm also down to be the newbie, maybe a bit of a punk/delinquent?

Hi!

This sounds like fun where do I sign up?

I'll have a character sheet up and running by the end of the day, hopefully!

Roller derby sounds great to me! I'll reserve the athlete (and the newbie) for you.

Let me know if this works or not! But the idea for my character is that hes the brains!

character name:
Hatsu Black
character age (16-18 for students):
18
character face claim:
(give me time on this part please) A general description of Hatsu Black is that he's short. It's the first think everyone notice about him since he only stands at 4'11 and he's thin. Many people could probably literally break him in half with no effort. He has black curly hair and its clear he doesn't own a brush- and if he did he didn't use it often. He somehow hit the jackpot to have blue eyes, but has ended up with a resting bitch face.
how did they know sadie?:
For a few months the two could be considered friends? He normally hung to himself but since he seemed to Ace every math with ease so maybe she needed a tutor. So they hung out for a while. For some unknown reason, during lunch one day, Sadie and Hatsu had a fight where it ended with him punching her in the nose. In the end, to avoid a lawsuit, Hatsu and his family having to pay for her nose job.
character personality (or personality traits):
Hatsu's smart. The only class he struggled with is English and that's just because he knows a second language. So yeah he's smart, but that doesn't mean you can go up to him and ask him to tutor you. He's standoffish and doesn't always know when to bite his tongue so he says things he probably shouldn't. And getting to know him is hard since he doesn't let that many people in. But those that get lucky enough to be let in knows that he's pretty loyal and that he's a pushover when it comes to the people and things he loves.
character biography (doesn't have to be long):
Not much is really known about who he is. Really the most information most people know of him is that he was born in the US, moved back to Japan for a few years then, then came be to America just in time to start the 7th grade. People also have a firm understanding that he and his family has money.
anything else?:
There's many reasons why he punched Sadie that day. Maybe because she made a side comment about how great his dad is even though she knew the pressure that his father pushed on him. Maybe it was about how lucky he was to be inheriting the family's wealth and business when he gets older and that he'll never have to work hard to get anywhere in life. Or maybe it was the fact she mentioned something about how he's in the closet and threatened to out him to not only the school but to his dad....who knows.

character name: Jessica "Jess" Sanders
character age (16-18 for students): 16
character faceclaim: Zoey Deshcanel
how did they know sadie?: Jessica and Sadie have been close since freshman year when they were in an art class together. The old saying "opposites attract" held true, as the1621486887956.png slightly shy but ever positive, friendly, and kind Jessica formed a strong bond with the driven, authoritative, and sometimes rude Sadie. Jess was the new girl who moved to a new district at the start of high school and that prevented her from the basic comforts of knowing someone at the start of such a frightening thing as high school, but Sadie took a liking to her and took Jess under her wing. No one would hurt Jess if they knew she was a close friend of Sadie's. Jess had always seen their friendship and Sadie's protection as proof of the goodness in her, to take on someone who needed support, but many have theorized what they believe to be closer to the truth. Sadie just likes having a push over in case she needs something. Sadie needs to keep a good girl nearby to plead her case if she ever gets in trouble. Sadie is such a bitch to everyone she needed to do something nice to make herself feel like a decent person. Sadie envies how so many people so easily get along with Jess and wants to be liked as well. Regardless of the true reason, which even Sadie herself may not accept, they have a strong friendship neither seems likely to turn their backs on now.
character personality (or personality traits): The Sweet Heart, a girl who can be shy in crowds, one who is always there for her friends but more than that wants to try and bring some joy to anyones life. Often times a push over, she can have trouble setting boundaries out of hopes of helping everyone and just wanting to cheer people up. Rarely a bad word to say about anyone, or if she has them she keeps them quiet, Jess is someone who gets along with nearly everyone and is generally liked, but while many may open up to her she doesn't like to "burden" people and therefore rarely opens up herself. She is always a shoulder to cry on for friends and strangers alike, but one who is so often perky herself she seems never to need the favor returned.
character biography (doesn't have to be long): Jess moved in with her father at some point over the summer before her freshman year, causing her to start high school where she knew no one, and no students seem to know what caused her to move in with her father or any details about her mother. She quickly formed a bond with Sadie and served as a peace maker when Sadie would go into "bitch mode", as Sadie and a few others had called it.
anything else?: I've got a few secrets for Jess to have already, you can pm me if you would like to discuss/work them out.

(quick note, I think I just want to play the athlete, leaving the newbie open) ashnikko.jpg

character name: Evelyn, Eve of Destruction (derby name), Lyn to her friends.

character age (16-18 for students): 16

character faceclaim: ashnikko

how did they know sadie?: when Evelyn moved to town, her heart shattered when she found out there was no high school derby league ANYWHERE in driving distance. The state had teams, just not near Coolidge. So she was forced to sneak a couple towns over to join their adult league team. Sadie helped her get the fake ID stating she was "Sally Guthrie" and 21 years old. This lasted a while with Sadie occasionally even coming to her games. Lyn knew that at first it was just so she could come to the team after parties with her, but eventually it lead to a more lasting friendship. Lyn refused to admit she felt anything more, sure that someone like Sadie was out of her league. All was good until an...incident at the skate rink. Sadie had to pick her up from a practice and Lyn could NOT go back. Broken over losing her only access to roller derby, Sadie came up with a secret plan to "convince" the Principal at their school to start a high school league. Lyn took more convincing than usual, but eventually she gave in. Their plan worked, but Evelyn couldn't completely shake the guilt she felt after what they did. Sadie's extra attention did help sooth that pit in her stomach, though. Being part of the cool kids, being captain of the school roller derby team...why was she so worried about what she had to do to get it? But now, with Sadie missing, and Tattletail knowing too much about too many people, nothing can seem to keep her mood in check.

character personality (or personality traits): Lyn has never been the sharpest tack in the box, but her athletic ability more than makes up for it. When she's not skating at the rink or bullying scooter kids at the park, she's busy sneaking out to do punk kid shit. No cigarettes, but she does like THC. Prefers edibles (makes her own) so she doesn't fuck up her lungs. She is always an athlete first, a tough guy second. This means lately she's been on better behavior on school grounds, knowing fights and felonies could get her kicked off the team. This has been hard for her, because she is a bit of a hot head. She considers her friends she family, and even if they fight she is always willing to forgive them - for better or for worse. She is also a bit of a thrill seeker and is a blast at parties.

character biography (doesn't have to be long): Evelyn HATED being in the closet. But her parents already had a hard enough time with the hair and the roller derby. They had hoped she would take up a more common sport that might've provided better scholarship opportunities. That didn't matter to Lyn as she had no intention of going to college, but that was one more thing her parents did not need to know. They weren't wealthy, but they weren't poor either. Her father was a building contractor, her mother worked at their church. Lyn had a sneaking suspicion that they might considered certain kinds of programs for her should they find out her sexuality.

They moved when her father was scouted for a large contracting firm. It was always about money, wasn't it? Everything in her new life was miserable...until she met Sadie. Sadie brought nothing but light into her life, even if Lyn kept messing things up for herself after. But now Sadie is missing, and suddenly Lyn finds herself reflecting on everything that's happened to her in Coolidge, and she's starting to worry if she's made a few too many mistakes.

anything else?: she loves animals, parties, arcades, and sneaking out at Midnight. She hates when people cross her or her friends. The only instinct she has is ~fight.~ She's good with hand tools because of roller skating maintenance an mounting.

Oh I saw you said you want rp over discord ( I prefer that to because its easier personally) but if you do that it'll be possible to set up a bot that will post as "tattletale". It's slow sometimes so there's a risk it'll post as their username for a second then change he name to tattletale but its an option, and it'll be easily manageable if we give a separate channel only tattletale could post in so even if it takes a second by the time people click the channel it'll already be updated to the right name

Would it be better if we start on discord?

Im sure theres bots already out there and if not we can make someone the offical TattleTale.

I know sugarpills said they would like a discord, and the bot I was thinking of was tupperbot, it's used in a lot of rp servers because whoever is tattletale could basically type T: and it would change the name to tattletale for only that message then any other messages they send will have their name. And if you click on a message by tattletale it wouldn't say who it was actually by, but there are plenty of others out there. And that's assuming whoever tattletale is has a character they have to differentiate from. But we could also just have them pm the message to sugarpills to post "A new message comes through from Tattletale, reading 'x'" so it doesn't reveal who it is. A lower tech solution but guarantees the anonymity as well and is an easy option if the bots turn complicated to set up/use

It wouldn't hurt to start it, and maybe make the official recruitment page since the interest check has already shown a lot. At this rate I don't think it'll be hard for us to find enough people

It all looks really good! I would say it would probably help to make a post on the group role plays section as well since sometimes people check there and not just interest checks
